Hi guys
I'm looking at a way to creating a custom operator connections cab (for MMS, GPRS/3G and custom work proxy settings).
So far I've managed to find the TmobileUK.xml operator settings and the cabwiz tools, so it will make the xml file into an easy to install cab file.
My question is what do I need to edit in the XML file to create a "My work network" connection that has a custom proxy in it? At the moment it creates an "Internet" connection only.
Thanks!

Hello!
I wanted to create a GPRS and MMS and EMail Settings CAB file, so I don't have to configure PPC everytime I hard reset!
Well, I have Vodafone PT service provider and I Have a PDF file with the HOWTO to configure GPRS and MMS. I also want to put in that cab the Emails setting (Gmail one and Hotmail one)!
Is it possible? How to?
See attached Zip file (with .pdf file), to see what I want to put in file (+ email settings)
Thanks
Deiota
Seems nice. Does it works with any Vodafone or just PT?
As I'm testing the different WM6 Roms I have to enter all the settings again and again and again. Now I'm thinking about creating a cab file with the operator and email account settings. But how to create it?

someone didnt take the time to search or RTFW
I saw the thread but not the cab file, sorry guys.
I would also like to know this...
CWW Enterprises Operator PDA Manager is great don't get me wrong, but by the time you install the software, download the operator lists etc, I can manually enter my own settings! and as I'm only interested in one network settings and one country, it would be far quicker & easier to have a cab file for the settings!
So, how can I create my own cab file?
so let me spoon feed you guys....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299393
and when your done making your working cab add it to the wiki if its not already here

where is the mms folder for mms on wm6.I can't find it!!!
It isn't enabled by default, but the installation file is in the Windows folder.
Open Windows and look for HTC_set.cab , tapping which installs the MMS folders in Messaging.
There is also an HTC_List.cab file, which adds a list of operator settings to the MMS Server settings, but I found the Orange ones didn't work, though using the Settings file via the HTC Website's WM5 ROM update page worked OK.
thakns a lot
i will try
Don't have it in Windows
Can somebody post the cab file please?
MMS ON wm6
I dont find it!
Some of the later WM6 ROM's have MMS integrated into the SMS folder
- have you looked there?
Just go to a picture and select send as...mms will show up and it will send. Do not know why they include sms and mms together. But as long as you downloaded the correct settings for your network, mms will work.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"yes. it's now hidden. just start to create a new mms message, and you have the option to configure the mss setting under 'menu', 'option', 'message option'."
Hello,
please, can someone upload the HTC_set.cab-file or provide information how I can enable mms support manually?
thank you,
dartrax
Please, can anyone help me create operator settings cab for T-Mobile HR network ?
All this time I had to manually create all my settings after flashing ROMs and it is a pain in the arse
I have extracted provmxl files with all the settings from the T-Mobile HR WM6 ROM, now I just need help with creating a cab file with it..
What files do I need for the cab and how do I initiate creation of the settings from provmxl files after installation ?
If anyone can tell me step by step how to create a cab or create a cab for me if it is easier then explaining, I have attacked the provmxls that needs to be edited a bit...
Thanks in advance!
Check Schaps. He has a cab listed that is a connections wizard that will detect and set up your phone...It works for AT&T so I would think it would for you....Look at his rom post and you should find it...
I know there is a connection wizard, but there are no Croatian networks present, so it will not work for me
The only way for me is to create provmxl file with all the settings that can be then used with network connection wizard. The provmxl files are here, they just need to be edited a bit since there is some crap in there that has nothing to do with operator settings..
I would like if someone could help me create cab file with settings for just my network since I don`t want/need other network settings and they will just use my storage space for no reason..
Hey Shamanix, i see what you're trying to do and sorry i can't help. But would it not be more beneficial for you (and everyone) to send these settings over to Schap and have him integrate them INTO the connection wizard? This way they are there for future users in one easy spot.
Hey Folks,
Can Anyone who can cook up a rom please make a Telstra Branded one? one that already has modded registry so we can view foxtel, The Proxy Manager software and all the stuff the other telstra roms have? I think us Aussie Telstra Users would highly appreciate it!
Thanks!
you can set all those things up yourself you know!
And i doubt we should expect a 6.1 telstra/imate rom again considering they dropped the phone before christmas.
ok .. then why dont you post all the reg settings / mods etc?
well mine works cause i hunted down the solutions myself and got them, like you should do instead of expecting someone else to do it for you!
its really not that hard! the vid stuff i got from whirlpool.
Search and ye shall find
Attached is a zip file containing the entire telstra ext-rom, this should contain any of the cabs you need.

Some rom's do support telstra, eg crc's 6.1.
You can "add" the telstra 3g bands manually however to any rom i believe, as I do, eg on tnt's rom I needed to add.
You then need to use the telstra proxy to access the sites etc(my place and such), BUT depending on what you want to do you may need to switch it on/off, very easy to do anyway.
Search for telstra 3g and you will find all info, otherwise use this: Telstra settings for 3g

Hi all, been down the same road with 3g Telstra.
There is a fix to set up all settings etc fairly easy when flashing with wm6.
1. do your flash...
2. need to edit the bands to allow our phone to use Telstra's frequencys
(see below)
3. run Telstra's own setup cab that they use in the original imate ext_rom
4. just go into settings/phone/band...select "auto" on network type
select "GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(850)"
thats about it
Works for me everytime I've flashed, get wap when its out of range for 3g and get telstra internet 3g every other time
E=Edge average, 3g=Umts=H on connections
notes:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Telstra "odd" bands (must do some reg exports for next time, and to share), use a reg editor like resco's etc
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
(taken from XDA site) if anyone else needs them, This Registry patch works for the Hermes.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\BandT ype]
"ItemCount"=dword:00000006
"ItemName1"="Auto"
"ItemName2"="GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(2100)"
"ItemName3"="GSM(1900+850)+UMTS(1900+850)"
"ItemName4"="UMTS(2100+800)"
"ItemName5"="GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(2100+850)"
"ItemName6"="GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(850)"
"ItemValue1"=dword:00000000
"ItemValue2"=dword:00000001
"ItemValue3"=dword:00000002
"ItemValue4"=dword:00000003
"ItemValue5"=dword:00000004
"ItemValue6"=dword:00000005
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\UMTS\BandSelection]
"Band"=dword:00000005
You really just need to add ItemName5 and 6, and ItemValue5 and 6, and change the ItemCount from 4 to 6 (as you added two options) using your favorite Registry Editor.
Do a soft reboot of the phone. Now you can select the NextG option GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(850)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. copy the telstra cab onto your phone then run, this sets up the Telstra Wap and Teletra Internet connection, as well as the proxy manager.
It does load some other junk onto the system like telstra bussiness etc , but this is easy to delete or move to another start menu group.
sometimes when setting up email accounts and such you may have to fiddle with the programmes "connect with " network setting and point it to :telstra internet or as in my case use "work" connection.
hope this helps

you only need the reg fix (if not already enabled) then choose the band then load in the gprs/3g modem settings and the proxy.
that telstra cab loads a tsk and sets the home page to the old wap site, the proxy manager is kind of cute if you are too lazy to load the proxy back in although the only thing you need the proxy for is to use whereis and some of the other crap telstra services.
The proxy will just slow down msn and general internet use.

RE:
hey guys, sorry I haven't replied until now, I've been fairly busy with work and the family.
OK Lets say I wanted to cook up a rom myself. Where can I find a clean wm6.1 rom and a kitchen to cook it in? I would have already probably cooked up a rom myself by now but it's hard to find a nice clean ROM and kitchen to use.

What directory in the phone do you copy it to? Is it supposed to recognise it straight away or do you have to execute the file in the phone once you've copied it over??
