Hi all, I have Dopod C720W. My wireless at work use proxy setting to surf the internet..How to set proxy setting in my device so that i can surf the net?
in my workplace, in order to be able to surf the net, i have to set manual proxy configuration in the web browser..can someone show me step by step how to do it in Dopod C720W?

Hi, I need help to configure my proxy!
Here's what i need, i use wifi internet on my college with my laptop, but it requires a Proxy Address, so i simply put that info on the LAN configurations on IE, then when i try to open a webpage it asks me for password and username, i put them in, and then i'm ready to surf the web, How do i do that on my Exclibur, i've put the proxy info in 'connections configurations' but i have no idea what to put on the CONNECT FROM and CONNECT TO spaces....
Please help me to solve this.....

hey, i didi actually! when you configure you're colege wireless lan you have to choose private work, and on proxy connect from work, connect to the internet, my college had a proxy password but i have no idea why it idn't work on my excalibur, so i tried it without potting any password and that was it...!! hope you solve this to
If i go to
Settings / Connections / Connections and Change on My Work Network with "Edit my proxy server" the proxy server for HTTP and try to download something with quick GPS or F-Secure the Proxy switches back to proxy11. Does anybody know about this problem and maybee know how to solve it?

i have a orange m3100 version of the hermes.
recently i flashed it with schaps 3.54b rom
now i can't use my wifi router/network @ home nor another wifi router/network @ work.
in fact i'm well connected, i'm sure of this because from another computer of the networks, i can ping the (static) ip of my hermes. i tried changing and changing again my ip and tested it.
but the hermes cant go on internet.
i use the right gateway and DNS in each case but no surf in pocket ie.
any solutions or other tests i can do?
in french if possible since i and my rom are in french.

update : i made some tests :
it is nos a dns problem : i put the right gateway and dns on the smartphone but i cant get a website by typing its ip in pocket ie adress bar (other browsers dont work better) and i cant even access my router admin interface.
when i'm trying wifi with static ip or dhcp on my m3100, i can ping its ip from another computer of my networks and the smartphone responds ok, and i can see its mac adress in the connected clients on my router config screen. But the smartphone can't ping anyone.
i asked a friend who told me that the proxy (192.168.10.100 :8080 ) used for the connection to orangeworld in gprs/edge is also used when i try to connect via wifi and that is why it cant connect nowhere because my personal network is configured differently and without a proxy.
if i delete the proxy my connections will cost me more when i use gprs.
if i configure my router like this (192.168.10.xxx) with a proxy on 8080 it could work but only on my network and not @ my workplace or somewhere else where network params will be different.
any ideas or solutions ?

well i found a temporary solution to my problem, probably not the best one but the best i can do by myself so if someone wants to help : thank you
it was actually a proxy problem.
i looked in the registry and found a key where the proxy adress was detailed : 192.168.10.100:8080
i have exported this value as "proxon.reg"
then i modified the value by deleting its content and i exported the empty value as "proxoff.reg"
now i have my "proxy switch".
before activating the wifi and starting ie, i lauch "proxoff.reg" which clean the registry for the proxy data and magic : ie connects fine.
and when i want tu surf via my provider orange, i desactivate the wifi and launch "proxon.reg" which restore the correct proxy data to the registry. and i can surf on gprs/edge.
all this is fine when i switch off the phone functions in the comm manager.
but now i need someone to tell me how i can automatize this for the wifi and edge connections because if the wifi signal gets too weak, i dont want my phone to switch to the gsm when the proxy is desactivated.
i hope you can understand my english.

In the last version of BatteryStatus (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=270751) you can find,among the others stuffs, the "Disable Proxy for WiFi" option (see the Tools tab)... Maybe more simple than "regg-in" on and off? I'm ok with it, try and see if it's ok for you also...

hey i am currently running Schap's 4.01 and the internet and mms and email are all working but my problem comes with the phone using WIFI to connect to the internet, i connect and all to the router but i am not able to browse the internet, i am also using tmobiles proxy to connect to the internet. how can i fix this?
i think i have almost the same problem with orange france proxy : no problem browsing via phone but no browsing possible via wifi, even if connected, and i'm connected to my wifi network : i can see [email protected] of my hermes is visible in my router admin screen. others can ping me, i can ping others and my router . but no browsing possible.
my (dirty) solution : i made 2 regs, one for disabling (delete) the orange proxy data in the registry, and the other for re enabling the proxy adress.
i launch the first "proxyoff".reg before i use wifi and launch the 2° one "proxyon.reg" when i quit wifi browsing.
but i'm sure there is a better way to do, so if someone gets it....

Go to START>SETTINGS>CONNECTIONS>CONNECTIONS.
In this menu you'll find the option "Set up my proxy server".

Sure, I tried this before, but this isn't affect for browser, i don't know why ?
Exactly my situation is I have proxy in browser IE , FF for browsing internet in my company, and i have to put in my IE xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port:xxxx , and i can surf with my laptop, but for HTC diamond, i can't put in Opera or IE this proxy adress, i tried with "set up my proxy" but nothing happened, again i can't surf ?
Please suggest me, waht to do? How can i add proxy in opera or ie in HTC diamond to use Wireless connection?
Inside "connection" i found "manage existing connections" , but inside this menu is just bluetooth, gprs, 3g connection, i couldn't find my wireless connection, even i'm connected with wireless ?
What to do, to add proxy for wireless connection, if somebody knows , please post it?

For all you with proxy adding problems, once solution, and i think in this moment, maybe the best, is to use older opera mobile 8.60 version, it doesn't have all functionalities like 9.5 version, but it works with proxy , cause in settings of this version , you can add proxy, in 9.5 version they removed from settings proxy!
