Universal AKU 3.5 out now (new thread)

This is a AKU3.5 Rom. It is based on a Benq P51 AKU 3.5 Rom.
OS 5.1.342
Build 15698.3.5.0
SP AKU 3.5
newest Test2 release !!!!! WLAN working !!!!
As aresult of the removal of the roms from the ftp (I heard from it on 21.02.07) the rom won't be updated anymore.

I've got a quick question on the ROM, how much free memory space do we get on the AKU 3.5 after soft reset?
and does AKU3.2 and AKU3.5 use different PIM databases?

I got 30 MB free space after first softreset.

I have flashed with this 3.5 ROM but there are not the extras that helmi includes in his ROM that are so useful, such as a VGA version that really works (with changes to menu fonts etc ...)
Are there additional programs anywhere else ?
Also does not have Windows Live & the new icons in Helmi's ROM

no dude ... its a vanilla version
no additional stuf... whatever you want you will have to install it for urself

Seems to me that Ivars rom is a 'vanilla' rom where Helmi is more features....
Would be user preference then.
If you search about you should find some of the apps.
Looking forward to trying this as even though Helmi's ROM is great I don't use alot of the extra apps.

YEAH.... I AGREE... helmi's is a amazing rom but then its always better to have assorted softwares... according to ones likes... any idea about the smart dial functioning ??

Uhh sorry my fault. Now its corrected.
There are no extra apps, because i want to know how stable it works. Extras are added afterwards, when the rom works really good and stable.

Smart Dial
This doesn't seem to be working on this ROM either, I really need this.
I can see your point about not including software if people don't actually want it but most of that included in Helmi's are pretty useful especially VGA.
Icons are only pretty but it is good to see a change from the standard ones.
As Smart Dial doesn't work I can't see how people will want to use 3.5 at all, stable or not.

Just a note to inform you that the Sip Config Tool is still under development.
It was not ment to being released as part of roms yet.
The cooks that approached me for permission would have found that out.
Pleaes direct all comments / questions / thoughts to this thread
There will be release within the next couple of days that allows you to switch between "Configuration Profiles Easily"
PS. Other Cooks take note NOT FOR RELEASE IN ROMS ..... yet

Sorry for no contacting you about including your tool in the ROM. As I see it cooked ROMs can have little problems because of the software included but bug reports are always welcome...I imagine this also is good for you if someone tells about any problem with your application.
I/we will welcome any new release, I can assure you it will be included in next 3des releases

I tried the old version for a few days, and for me...it was sluggish in general.....was this a common issue reported?
of course it might not have been the Rom perse, but I add very few apps.
Just wondering how the speed feedback was in general, though.

There's no problem with flashing again same SPL and Radio, but if you still want an OS only NBH, tell me, will upload to rapidshare/megaupload.

hmm, are they still the same aku 3.5.2? i think i will stick to previous version for a time being.
i checked only the nucleus of the system (???) is newer, other than that they are stil the same.
btw, what do you mean by 8MB page pool, didn't get what's that mean.

I am trying to use your ROM V5, but unfortunatly after softreset bluetooth function is stopping to work completly. Hardreset returns the bluetooth. I will try to download from you the file again and reinstall it. Maybe it helps.

Hi Buch070,
I didn't try the bluetooth function myself so I don't know if it's not working, so sorry about that. It might be derivate from the base ROM as I didn't do any modification on the modules.
Now, I'm using version 4 instead of version 5 (aku 3.5.2)

Yeah, same here, I didn't even touch the BT parts
I found that the new AKU 3.5.2 is a bit sluggish, especially when I turned on my screen, it's takes a while for me to see today's screen from blank/black screen, not sure whether you encounter the same problem?
I will try it from my end on BT and update you guys here.

Yeah, I'm waiting too and now I revert back to last stable ROM based on old AKU
AsusMobile.ru will probably release unofficial WM6 by end of this month, 2 more weeks

Hi Vibranze Your V5 Rom is very buggy, but I try AKU 3.5.2 Based Rom from asusmobile.ru (lite version). Is not have BT bug and black/blank screen bug and any other bug (Yet). In your V5 rom bt problem and screen problem same for me, but I still wait for your great AKU 3.5.2 Based or WM6 based Rom. Sorry my bad english. Thank You for roms till now! Keep developing new roms!

We've been waiting quite a long time for this moment, and finally it's here. All of you who already flashed official WM6 ROM into their Hermeses - please post your thoughts about it, how does it look like (screenshots are welcome), is it stable, does it lack some of the features, etc. For example: does it have VoIP on board? Is dialer and comm mgr 'old-style', or maybe 'touch-style'?
I hope that this topic could help us to decide whether to go for flashing official WM6, or maybe our chefs ROMs. Personally, I'm a little bit confused, if I should flash official, or Black Majik, or maybe wait for freshly cooked ROMs..? Thanks for all your input in advance.

My plan is to take this new ROM and do my first stripped-down Hermes ROM (used to do it on Blue Angel but not Hermes so far) for speed and simplicity.
If I work out how to add in any updated drivers our cooks here have fiund I will but at a later date once I've got the procedure down.

Basically, i'd like to know how the a2dp is on this ROM. I use a2dp a lot since my phone is also my mp3 player. So does this rom have updated/latest a2dp driver? or is it no different than the other official roms when it comes to a2dp? So far Sleuth's latest has been the one with the best a2dp but if this rom comes with new/updated/latest a2dp drivers then it should be better right? user opinions please

Dialer Screen SUCK... looks the same as old wm5 one, Office does not include onenote Splash suck. everything else at the moment ok.. i think i start using it for just few hours..

Caferoom, does that rom come with CE-Star or did you install it? Does it seem stable when you use the pinyin input from hardware keyboard? I have yet to fid a ROM that wasn't totally wrecked by installing CE-Star...THANKS!!

I install the Tradition chinese one with HTC X-button 1.51, but i got some problem,. When I end the program by X-button, I got the "shell" error and reset, after uninstall it works well, anyone have same problem?

not much to tell except the above, looks good, but I don't believe in touch flo of any kind on a hermes, where the screen has got edges .. and the RAM is never enough to run these sorta things. ... have fun I am sure his dish is very delicious ..

VideoCall and MMS on this ROM ??

I have installed that rom right now, lets test.. in a couple hours i give you the feedback.

I installed this yesterday. Nice rom. Very fast. Had some registry tweaks to change....Could not get the new MMS, http://rapidshare.com/files/14771847..._70_24_QVGA.7z to receive. I could send MMS but not recieve. Also it put Verizon MMS settings in my Registry. Like most of these Manila Roms, you run out of memory too fast. He does have a new program in there that lets you pick a time that will automatically reset your phone thus you get your memory back up. Another A+ ROM from PhamQuang

i flash rom today and a first impact is very stable..........

You have to go into settings/Phone/Band.... and set "Select your GSM/UMTS Band to Auto.

That is the one I am talking about.

wifi option in comm manager doesn't seem to work. any fix without installing a new one? tia
edit: hard reset fixed it.

wifi in com-manager is working for me...
