Internal FM antenna - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi,
what do you think - is it possible to integrate the FM-antenna into the P3300 housing? I would like to open the housing solder an isolated copper wire to the pin at the usb connector and do some loops inside the housing.
Does someone opened the P3300 housing before? Are there some pictures or howtos?
Kind regards,
hqqh

just search the forum and you will be impressed!

Hi NikMel,
I did used the serach function of this forum before I posted my question. I found post where the fm radio starts without the headset pluged in because of the registry entry. But then there is the problem that no radio stations are found --> I want to integrate the antenna into the p3300 housing --> I have to open the housing.
Maybe I'm not clever enough to used the search function. So if you know a post/howto where a procedure is described to open the p330 housing, please give me a hint.
Kind regards,
hqqh

Defective Connector on Wired TT5 (help needed)

Hi
I bought a second hand xda2 with wired TT5 ...PDA is spot on with no problems,,,however I decided to put it in the car ....all going well until the TT5 informed me no GPS device....
Great ! ! ! On closer inspection I discovered the connector on the TT5 lead was a bit dodgey....I have tried to find a diagram to show me the correct wiring configuration on the connector but to no avail.
Can anyone tell me the correct connector and also the wiring configuration.. or perhaps point me iin the right direction
Colours of the wires are Red,Orange and Brown...the connector looks like a RJ11 but the size of the hole it fits in looks slightly larger....But this may be incorrect as I bought it like this Doh !! ! ! !

External aerial for O2 Orbit

Hi, had a look in the manual and a quick search here but I can't find out what kind of adaptor I need to connect a FME terminated external aerial to my Orbit. TIA.
Great forum, very helpful BTW (just found out about dual sim holders... )
Aerial
Hi The specification for an external aerial seems to be confusing - it took me a long time to actually get something that fits. John, at 'GPS Antenna only' in Ebay, has got GPS aerials that do, and may be able to help you further
Thanks but I couldn't find anything on Ebay -- do you have a link?
Aerials
Hi. Sorry about that. That was the name of his shop. Try this.. http://search.ebay.co.uk/ws/search/MemberSearchResult?userid=londoncolour
This should take you to his shop. He really was very good when he was trying to get me a GPS aerial - we must have tried 4 or 5 different ones that according to the specifications, were 'supposed' to be correct. I know that he also contacted HTC, and what they told him was wrong as well, but John bought an Orbit himself, and eventually found the correct one. He really couldn't have done more - excellent supplier, highly recommended, and great value.
Thanks, but he just directed me to the GPS aerial he had for sale. Have contacted HTC Europe, see what they come up with.

It's only in German language, but I hope it helps anyway.
As far as I know, the connector should be an MS-147-C(LP)-2
Thanks for that -- I've dropped him an email. That part number for the aerial doesn't come up much on Google...
I should qualify that: the MS-147-C(LP)-1 type does the 2 doesn't seem to exist...
Sorry, that seems to be right. I've got that information from expansys webpage.
Have a look at the data sheet

Hi Peter, so you think it is the 1 I'm looking for?
I've asked Hirose for a free sample of
MS-147-C(LP)-1 and MS-147-HRMJ-1 for validation.
GPS Antenna Adaptor
I was in Radiop Shack and found adaptor # 17-349 connects to the P3300 (aka Artemis) on one end and has a standard Antenna cable connector on the opposite end.

Not sure if it works as I have not connected it to a GPS antenna itself but it' gets you past the hard part (connecting to the phone)

It was an external aerial for the phone socket I was after, but thanks anyway.

HELP! PDA2 alternative connector

Hi
I was wondering if the connector located under (not behind) the battery works for upgrading Pocket pc (PDA2) like the usual one, because it has broken tracks.
Also if anyone knows where to get that alternative connector, or at least what's the known name of it.
cant renember what htc model pda2 is
but if it's himalaya it's the backpack connector and i doubt it can be used to sync
also it could be an external antenna connector in which case it also cant be used to sync with
clikc XDA-wiki and find your device it could be that it have a hardware description where you can find info about the connector
I've googled for the Himalaya CF backpack, but drawn a blank... Are there any peripherals actually available that use it?
...or any more tech info on its pins so that we could develop our own?

Need help: Where is the microphone ?

Hello. Have problems when calling, I can hear the other person, but not the viceversa. So I think is the microphone.
Can someone tell me where is the microphone located ?
It can be changed ?
Where can I find one to buy or something compatible ?
Thanks !
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Technical
you can prob find it here
Thanks a lot, I looked and the best information was "bottom", this was predictable because you speak in it and can be somewhere else but bottom.
I am not worried about the finding problem, but if you can tell me if it is hard to change, you can change it without breaking any wires and after you need to put it again to their places ? I am asking because I don't have the tools for this kind of operation.
Nobody changed the microphone to a Blue Angel ? At least I need a genuine Blue Angel microphone ?
Regards!
Hey there, You just need a T6 Torx screwdriver to get into the case and the microphone is a small metal unit that slots into the case and has two wires leading to it.
I took a BA apart for the first time this week and it's really easy. Swapping the microphone is as easy as undoing 6 screws, splitting the case then swapping the microphones.
If you're stuck for a replacement then let me know - I'm currently ripping apart a BA with a motherboard fault. The Mic is known to be good.
Cheers!

GPS antenna issue replacing the central cover

Hello, I want to replace the central part of the Arc, I mean the chrome one. The GPS antenna is attached to this part, so is necesary to detach the antenna to place it in the new central part and here is my problem: according to the Sony Ericsson dissasembly guide, in the text explaining how to detach the GPS antenna says:SCRAP, NOT TO BE REUSED, so I understand that I must buy another GPS antenna for this operation.
Is this true? Is there any way to re-use the existing antenna?
Follow the guide, its an official SE guide so im sure their 100% of their own manufactured phone.
