is there a solution to this yet I have been doing motos for a few years noiw and recently moved up to pda smartphones anyway I am in dier need of a imei change solution for the dash/s620/excalibur even if it is a pay service please provide me with a link i have been searching up and down
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276851
i read that already actually i also saw the htc imei changer which does not work for the excalibur and i am well aare of the reprocussion (pardon my spelling) for changing an esn does anybody know where the imei is stored on these phones maybe in the registry any help for this issue as i said i am new to this whole pda phone thing and i am very adaptable thnks for your help
Based on my previous reading this would not be the case but, if IMEI's were the unique part in unlock Dash's this could provide a way to unlock them for free (with one known code).
did the imei check unlock already my phone is cid unlocked software unlocked and reflashed wih htc excalibur stable rom iwizard will not work with excalibur and yet there seems to not yet be a imei changer soluion for this phone there is someone however that knows the tasks that iwizard runs is this not somehow able to be ported to the excalibur i have found a pay service that supports g4 chips but excalibur is not listed so i dont not want to try it also still searching for the location of the imei and a way to access that location
how can i change IMEI in Gigabyte G-smart i ?
does unlocking mean changing IMEI ?
however i need changing IMEI of the pda !
the phone OS is "Microsoft Window Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC Phone Edition(AKU2)"
and complete description is here :
http://www.gsmarena.com/gigabyte_g_smart_i-1759.php
and one question more : is changing IMEI depended on the brand of the pda or it is depended on OS version for PDAs or ... ?
Thanks all for helps ...
it is dependent on the phone the model and the way of storing the IMEI, I dont think there is much info on IMEI changing on this site (and indeed the entire internet) because of the legality of it.
IMEI "repair" is a better way to put it... but its still probably illegal in your country. Use the search function on this site to see the methods used on HTC PDA's and also look around the net for something specific to your PDA. Chances are no other tools for other pda's will work.
Cheers.
Buncey.
Unlocking means that your phone can use any sim card from any gsm company.
It hasn't nothing to do with imei.

u can unlock the device so you can use any other network simcard in your device, however, it is very illegal to change any IMEI of a handset . the only reason really that anyone would want to do this is if a handsert is stolen and someone tries to change the imei before the block signal is sent to that device.
joey jojo ,
It's not only the reason !!!
There are many people having problems with registering their IMEI in Service provider maybe for sudden draft law, so they can't use their device in network if they buy it from another country !
in which case the draft laws mean that it's ilegal
:S
I have not asked if it is illegal or legal , i just wanted to know if it is possible or no , so you can answer to the first question if you know , otherwise please ....

Whatever the legality (and it's not legal), you will not find the information here so please stop asking
Doesn't this forum have Moderators ? so if my thread is illegal , they can delete it and ... , otherwise why you are wasting time and forum bandwidth with not related answers to the question ?
i think it's better to stop it here !
Hi @ all,
1st i have to say thx, that i can reg me on that forum . Now to my actual question, im new in the android world, im very good in iOS stuff but now thats my 1st steps in the android world. I bought a used Motorola MB526 (i hope its a defy), and i think its tmo sim locked, because when i put my sim in i have the message "pin to unlock the sim network" on my display, i dont have any sim-pin or sim-lock on the sim itself.
And cause im new with that, i dont know what steps i have to do now :/ I have some specs from it :
Code:
SystemVersion:
45.0.1251.MB526.T-Mobile.en.DE
Modell:
MB526
Android Version:
2.3.5
Baseband Version:
EPU93_U_00.60.00
Kernel Version:
2.6.32.9-gbdd614e
[email protected] #1
Build Number:
4.5.1-134_DFP-1251
I hope someone can help me out, thx alot in advance
there are serveral ways:
1. you pay a "service" to calculate your unlock code by giving them your imei, country and net-provider
2. you can have a look at the links in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1464645
-root your phone
-install cm7 (which of course i would only do after reading a LOT of stuff here in this forums of course)
-install the software from the external links
-run it
both ways are somewhat risky and you might have a chance to loose some money (1. way) or your phone (2.)
if you have not done it already i would also recommend some searching. there are quite some topics around on this.
cheers
Thanks alot for the reply . I surfed the tmo wepsite, and on it there is a "sim unlock" section where i can enter my imei, i did that and became an unlock code directly on their homepage. And it works
Now i can with my eplus carrier with that defy . Now i have another question, can i update the oS that is installed on the device ? You see my specs above Android Version etc. is that okay or can i go higher ?

Well you could always go higher and higher by rooting
Sent from my MB526 using XDA App
Root rulez!
You do even own a Defy+.
Since I own the same phone i would recommend rooting the phone, install MS2Ginger 2.1 with all the patches you like and even V6 Supercharger, which is really a must-have! My Defy+ got considerably snappier with this script.
But regardless what you do: Do a NANDroid backup first after root!
hello ! after a week of testing ive finally found a solution for samsung galaxy s4 clone ( mt6572 gt-i9500 ). with no service !
Soo , you have no service and can't make calls ! follow this instructions and you will be talking on your phone in no time
Its very simple : ( i'll add the necessary links / software for this job )
1. you need SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1316.0.150
2. you need the WORKING ROM ! modified by me
3. you need MtkDroidTools
( this version is allready modified to work with mt6572 )
The procedure :
we must first format the phone using SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1316.0.150 . soo we open the program and select the scatter file.txt atached in the rom . hit format and then hit OK.
Now remove the battery and connect the usb cable to the phone. it will start formatting the phone. wait till is ready ( you will see a green circle )
At this point , the phone is ready to receive the new ROM
you have allready selected the scatter file early'r .
THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT !!! uncheck the CACHE and USRDATA at the bottom.
Now hit Download button , you will get a warning message, just press YES
Now put the baterry back into the phone, and connect the usb cable. wait till the process end's and when you see the green circle you can disconect the phone, remove the battery, insert back the battery and power on the phone , and voila !! your phone have working network !!
Next step is to write the IMEI...
Use MtkDroidTools ( you must have debugging mode on in the phone ) connect the phone to the usb cable, wait till MtkDroidTools see your phone , and then hit the big imei button. There you must provide the imei number ( you can find it under the battery ) after that you hit write imei and then reset your phone and you are good to go
I presume that you allready have the usb drivers ( if not, i can also provide them )
For other questions use the forum below
If i have saved your day, maybe you consider making a small donation ( for that, use the DONATE TO ME button under my name )
Have a nice day !
Thanks for this tut, @pacattosul its very easy to follow, unlike some I've come accross, could I ask this?, will this not work by just using Mtkdroid tools as in the latter part of your tutorial? without the need of flashing a new rom?
Also I hope you dont mind a bit of constructive criticism, the developer of Mtkdroid tools @rua1 has specifically asked that his program is not placed on other sites for download, perhaps you could just change your post to link to his thread, here..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490 Plus I do feel you are rather inviting problems by not specifying the details and build of your device that you have tested this method on, I don't have this phone but I'm sure there are quite a few different versions out there and the result of flashing the wrong preloader for your device can be a $200 paperweight, as I'm sure you know, and with that in mind I would stress that before embarking on this, a full backup is desirable in case it all goes t*ts up. Hope you don't mind my mentioning this stuff, if you decide to make those few minor changes, I'll edit and delete this paragraph, don't want to spoil your thread.
hello oscarblue48 !
i really don't mind that you point my mistakes... im actually happy cause as you say, MTKtools its somebody's work and should really be apreciated. BUT, this tutorial only work's with this special version of MTKtools !! i'm not responsable if you use any other tools/versions !!
you say that people may broke 200$ phone if they flash this rom... ok it may happend, but only if they mistake the model-version of the phone ! like ive say'd this tutorial and the rom only goes for MT6572 GT-I9500 SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 CLONE !! if they flash this rom on other devices they are responsible for what they do...
Actually , this rom goes for dead phones as well ( as i mentioned on other site ) , so i supose that most of the people , when they reach this tutorial, its for a good known reason
You also ask me if you can only use the mtktools... well you can easylly use that program, but you will probably not change anything inside that phone. most of the people try'd mtktool and complain that the imei remains null or empty after writing with this tool... soo in order to fix the annoyng NO SERVICE problem, i recommend that you follow the entire tutorial
I hope ive answered all your questions, and offcourse if you encounter any problem you can allways comeback and simply ask
Hi bro help me out here is my thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50483872
I tried your rom but still not working i can enter to recovery mode with different preloader and doesn't show me black screen when turned on as my big problem is i can not format my nand as you will see in my thread i was messing up with boot logo via root as it was rooted with supersu...so any help please as i have tried alot roms and i can't find stock rom for this phone MTK6572_S00 samsung s4 this is made in korea by samsung...and I do not have backup of my rom...
Thanks in advance
Please help
Always getting - 4032(DRAM FAILED) while downloading- Followed same steps !
Appreciate any help
Update:
I have flashed it successfully - Also the IMEI, but still not registering to network.
be aware !! you have the dual sim ( 2 sim ) phone or single sim?? this only works for single sim phone... also, you must not try to flash this on dual sim phone !!
try this... go to settings and at the network tab change the connection mode... chose hspda preffered... that may do the trick !
@pacattosul would you please give me thelink file?cuse i'm having the same problem my device cannot detect any sim card my device is

Not sure if anyone heard this or what but apparently, Microsoft accidentally leaked the UEFI Secure Boot master or "golden" key on the latest builds of Redstone v1607 . Those keys have the potential to totally disable UEFI Secure Boot on almost all devices with no option to disable secure boot (yes that includes us, Windows Phone users). This is some good stuffs for us!
You can grab yourself a key here: https://rol.im/SecureBoot.zip .
Re-upload here, just in case... https://mega.nz/#!Nssj0KzS!fsAwe9TolI2a_pSBU0sr6mBkPAr7G77JeMqtHxQstNg
More info about the exploit here: https://rol.im/securegoldenkeyboot/
Now let's just hope that Microsoft doesn't decide to update the bootloader to fix this exploit but I don't think they can do that in an instant update/patch...
Mods, feel free to move this thread if it needs too since this vulnerability doesn't only apply to Windows Phone. Thanks

Didn't saw that earlier... Was just too excited when I saw this news on NCIX's Netlinked Daily on YouTube earlier... Then I just did some lil' search on Google to realize that the exploit was out 2 days ago... :/
Oh well... XD

To clarify, @mrchezco1995, Microsoft is unable to patch the vulnerability for most already-existing devices, because in doing so they would revoke manufacturers/operators from being able to service the device without a jtag/serial connection. For example, any software patch would prevent recovery partitions (like on OEM computers, or the SoftReset option) from passing validation. They can only fix this for future devices.
