Opening The Bluetooth Serial Port Services For htc p3600i Using WM6 - P3600 ROM Development

I just bought my htc p3600i preloaded with WM6 yesterday. I intent to use this device as my pda and data device only, while I am having another phone, i.e nokia 8800 black as my talking phone (1st phone).
Well, probably i am not quite 'alone' using 2 phones together with me all the time, but I feel that it is so convenient that way, talking only using my 1st phone (nokia 8800) while the pda (htc p3600i) was used only to take notes, appointments, accessing the web, downloading my e-mail and I am enjoyed using my 3rd party sms software (Simple SMS v5) which was installed in the pda to send and receive sms via my 1st phone, nokia 8800 through bluetooth connection. I usually left my pda togeher with my working headache on sunday, and just bring my handphone, which makes me happier having it that way.
My problem is, since i bought the htc p3600i yesterday, I couldn't use my pda to send and receive sms via bluetooth through my 1st phone anymore, just like using my previous Asus P535 running WM5. I realise that there is not much 'Bluetooth Serial Port' services shown in any of its communication port anymore, not like the previous Asus P535 having WM5, while connecting and pairing it to my nokia phone. The only bluetooth service available on my new pda was 'Serial Port' and 'Dialup Networking', compare to 'Com 1' on my previous WM5 device.
Could somebody help me on my silly problem that I have, before I drop a bricks on my new pda, and start telling me what to do next. I got a feeling that the WM6 doesn't allow the connection anymore, rather than the device is not compatible due to some reason. Or, shall I downgrade my device back to WM5, but how?
I feel that the technology is changing TOO fast, without letting me make any savings to purchase another new device.
Thank you fella.

Hmmm..very sad that nobody have answered my question..
Until I finally found myself the answer, HTC Trinity Plus (p3600i) is using 'Microsoft Bluetooth Stack', comparing to my previous device using 'Widcomm Bluetooth Stack'..
But where can I found Widcomm Bluetooth Stack which is compatible with HTC Trinity Plus (HTC P3600i) running WM6 to hack MS Bluetooth Stack?

What a fantastic site. The pda is so incredibly clever and on the i-mate site I have recently upgraded the rom version which includes a radio upgrade.
Can anyone explain if it will be possible to upgrade the telephone to have the voice activated facility that allows you to speak in to a bluetooth handsfree kit and set up a unique number to get the telephone to dial automatically ?
I know that in Canada and the USA Microsoft have a new ?? [not really new now] product called Voice Command which I can't wait for which will allow you to do all kinds of amazing things with the telephone, the appointments and other parts of the pda which will make it much safer to use on the road.
The only poor part of the upgrade from i-mate [i-mate.com] is I am sure that the Bluetooth Navman 4100 GPS unit and the GPS TomTom3 software are 'hanging' more often which is annoying - any suggestions please ?
Than you for an excellent site.

I was using MS Voice Command on my iMate PPC Phone edition. It wasn't a very happy marriage. My iMate would hang to the point where it needed a hard reset about once every or every other week. After a call to iMate tech support and removing the MS Voice Command as suggested, my iMate is much much more stable. Prior to using MS Voice Command with the iMate, I was using it with a T-Mobile PPC Phone Edition. It worked flawlessly. So based on that and other similar experiences (SimCity2000 worked on the t-mo device but not on the iMate) I can't help but suspect the iMate for not being terribly compatible with several different software titles.
Thanks for your information about the voice command - really sad to hear the i-mate doesn't work with it - I won't buy it !
Kind regards
Vito
Why don't you try Vito Voice Dialer PE ?
Guys what are you talking about !! Can't you see that everyone of you is using different ROM!!! But the hardware is still the same !! HIMALAYA.
Imate,XDA2,T-Mobile MDA2,Qtek2020... has the same hardware!
Microsoft Voice Command works with WM2003. It is good as long as the quantity of contacts you have is limited. In larger quantities, confusion starts! (besides the fact that you have to pronounce the names in a typical american accent)
Vito Voice Dialer has 2 different phone edition versions (one for XDA and one for XDAII). Each number has to be trained, but then you can use nicknames and aliases, and it works.

BT activesync problems. Please help

Hi,
I have the Orange SPV M2000 with TuMa 1.3 rom set onboard. I'm trying to get my device to talk with my new Macbook using third party software from The Missing Sync. It is listed as working with WM2005 devices such as M5000 but i cannot get it to work with my BA. It seems to revolve around its inability to list activesyncing via BT as one of the BT services available. I have been in touch with the Missing Sync guys but no joy as yet. Any thoughts here?
The process sugested by Missing Sync is to set up a new BT partnership via the activesync tool on the BA. The two devices recognise each other and even seem to pair but after that no joy. Apparantly Activesync should be listed as a BT service but it isn't...
Really appreciate any help on this one.

WM6 and sapsettings (bluetooth)

Hi, i've upgraded my Tytn succesfully to WM6 Black Edition, works like a charm, great performance (better then WM5) only one major problem is that i cannot activate Rsap with "sapsettings" that doesn't seem available. I've downloaded the "ActivateMSBluetoothSAPProfile.cab" from another ROM but that gives an error.
Is there a ROM that has "Sapsettings" in the programs? I'd install that one then.
Any help is appreciated. Thnx.
Hi, I've had the same problem after upgrading my Hermes 300 to 3DES.3
I was missing the SAP or rSAP, which I needed for my Passat.
I found an OEM package here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Universal_WM6_Kitchen_Helmi
and downloaded the btsapprofile (direct link: ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Universal/helmi_c/Kitchen_OEM/btsapprofile.v1.45.rar)
Extract the content of this file to your PC. Copy SAPSettings.lnk to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs on your phone.
Copy SAPSettings.exe.0409.mui, sapsettings.htm, SAPSettings.exe, SALib.dll, BtSim.exe to \Windows on your phone.
Go to Programs on your phone - you should find a working link to SAP settings.
This did the trick for me.
Cheers - mgruett
You are my hero! Works 100%. Thank you!
While looking into this issue i found anothern, maybe easier solution together with my collegues (same problem here, for the VW Passat fleet)
Just open this file, unrar, copy .cab file on your Hermes, execute, softreset and off you go.

tested it on 2 Hermes with WM6 and it works flawlessly.
rSAP with TyTN, s620 and Wizard
Hi,
when you're saying "100% working" and "works flawlessly" do you mean you have the Icon in your program folder or is it really working well with your car-kit ? Make phonecalls, Syncs phonebook etc. ???
I've a carkit from THB (bury) since ages in my car and upgraded the phone holders from old nokias up to the LT9100 with rSAP. As rSap pops up, I was 100% sure that this is the solution I'm looking for.
Since 6 months now, I try to get that damn thing working. It always fails with "Sim Card missing / not found". I could pair, it connects to the phone, disables the phone-module, but I couldn't dial a number, nor could I sync the phone book.
I tried it with Blueangel, Wizard, TyTN and my brandnew S620 without succes. I tried it with PPC 2003, WM5 and WM6 Roms, no chance. Of course, I followed the hints in the forum.
I sent the carkit to Bury to upgrade to the latest firmware and guess what ... nothing, always the same problem with Windows Devices, but my Nokia 9300 connects well in a second.
So, bottom line, I'm not sure if it is a Bury Problem with a bad rSAP support for WM or a WM Problem as my Nokia connects well.
Any thought or tipp is highly appreciated
Thanks
Chris
I just tried the download from WDawn (thanks incidentally) and aside from it resetting my background to the windows default, worked just fine. Enabled SAP, gave the phone a poke up the rear and tried it on a Nokia 616 car kit. This car kit uses SAP if available, otherwise falls back to HFP. It quite happily connected via SAP. Next text with be the Mercedes Bluetooth module, which would have to be the fussiest car unit I've ever come across and it only supports SAP (no HFP, HSP.. or other fall back).
The phone used is a DoPod 838 Pro running the newly released official WM6 ROM. I never had this success with the cooked LVSW ROMs that I used in the past.
Alex.
Progress but still troubled

Hello!
I have a HP Ipaq 914c and having troubles connecting with the VW Passat.
Here are the steps that I have made so far. Any help will be much appreciated.
1) Initialy on the VW menu searched for BT phones. Detected mine but whenever I selected it, returned back with the message: "Phone not compatible"
2) Dicovered here this tool BTSAP_Test, installed on the Ipaq and activated the "Remote SIM Access" checkbox button
3) VW now is able to pair with the phone (after inputing the 16 code number) but immediatly after pairing says that "Bluetooth is not activated on phone" ...
4) Looking on BT devices in IPAQ I can now see a device named "VW UHV PREM", but the only available service to use for this device is "Dialup Networking".
Am I missing something ? Thanks.

Do any car kits work on the s620?

Hi
I have an s620 and wish to install a bluetooth car kit but cannot find any clear guidance on comaptibility. I need to be able to access the phone book, and the two which interest me are the Bury CC9060 and the Parrot 3200LS. Does anyone know if either or both of these are compatible with the s620 or of any suitable alternatives?
Thanks
MB
As far as calling is concerned, you should have no trouble whichever route you go. The phonebook will give you the most trouble. There's a utility by a company called jetwaremobile.com that allowed my car's bluetooth headunit to receive the phonebook from the dash.
Thanks. Yes, I have heard of jetware - am just nervous on forking out around £200 to discover all it can do is make and receive calls. Which system are you using? Also are you on WM6?
Jetware have a compatibility list on their page for devices that have been proven to work (with a corresponding table of features supported by device.)
I'm using a Pioneer headunit with bluetooth built-in. I sync'd the phonebook under WM6.0. I'm on 6.1 now and haven't tried updating it.
I use this....
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Prod...=105AVX810&search=JVC&searchdisplay=JVC&tp=75
with this....
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=280050&i=105BTA200&tp=8272
but there are alot of better models out now..
Thanks for the advice. Have looked on the jetware site and they don't list the device I am after. Also, are jetware still going as on their own furums people believe they may have ceased!
Have contacted a few of the car-kit retailers and the feedback seems to be that HTC devices in general have a lot of compatability issues and the S620 isn't even listed on any device as being compatible. Am hoping to be able to test in store to see if I can make it sync so will feedback then.
For what it's worth. Dash/S620 works great out of box with BMW 2007 bluetooth. Have used with WM5, WM6 and WM6.1. Complete phone book sync, and send/receive calls.
The BMW is listed as compatible on jetware's site, as is the parrot device the original poster was talking about. It lists it as a 3X00, implying anything in the three-thousand series from parrot will work. I didn't see the Bury one listed. And whether or not they're still actively developing the software, it still works on the dash. It comes as a 30-day trial as well.

Sim Access Profile Problem with Audi?

I have had the TP2 for a couple of weeks now and am generally very happy with it, but for some reason the Sim Access Profile is not working correctly with my Audi. I have paired the phone with the car and have enabled SAP in the phone's BT advanced settings page. Unfortunately the car will only access part of my phone book (only contacts under A to B are showing). The phone has all of my contacts on it and all of the other features of SAP seem to be working. I know that I can use JETware as an alternative but would like to know if I am doing something stupid with the phone before I go down the JETware route.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I put my problem / question in this thread:
I use the TP2 in my skoda with a audi BT-SAP-Adapter this combination works, tested it before with my S/// X1.
When i pair my phone with the sap-Adapter the adapter recognizes that the TP2 can use the SAP-BT-profile and use the longer pairing PIN (when you pair a mobilephone wich has no SAP-profile the adapter use the Handsfree-profile and shows you a shorter PIN). As far, everything seems to work great.
But when my TP2 want´s than to connect with the adapter i see that the statusline shows the typical symbol for the flight mode and in the BT-menu at the BT-adapter i see the words "SIM-Access" for very short time (~ one second). Next the line “Stereo-profile” or something else (it is to fast to read) appears and half a second later the line “Handfsree” appears. The Symbol for a handsfree connection is shown at the statusline and the sign for flightmode changes back to the normal symbol for filedstrength.
what i tried as far to solve the problem:
1) i contacted the HTC-Support. They told me. that they made, at the moment, a test-row to solve specially the problems between HTC-WINMob-Handsets and car-handsfree-sets. So i got from there a software which i had to install at my phone and got a error-report. This i had to sent to HTC. No further comment from them.
2) i searched at very much forums at the car and mobilephone scene.
3) I tested the combination with different SIM-cards from different Providers and different ages.
4) I deleted my contacts at my SIM and wrote some newer one with an NOKIA Phone (this helped by some other SAP-car-FSEs)
5) I used No-Data
6) I installed the newest radio-rom.
Nothing of this brought some solution.
As i found at my recherches i´m not the only one who hast this problem with the HTC and sap-car-handsfree-set.
I thing, that this is a problem with the BT-Stack which is used at the TP2 and other HTC, is it?
Dose somebody solved this problem? Even with an other HTC with the same BT-Stack???
Has somebody any other idea to solve the problem??
Any help??
Merci
Quino666
I had no problems with SIM access on my 2010 A3 TDI -- worked flawlessly with my Tilt 2 with stock ROM. I haven't checked the car's phonebook lately, but last time I looked, everything was there.
1) With update on WM 6.5 or the first WM 6-version of the ROM?
2) Do you use a build in Handsfree solution with sap-profile or the adapter-solution?
Merci
Quino666
Hey,
I have a similiar Problem with the rSAP snap-in Adapter in my 2010 iDrive BMW. rSAP (telephony) just works great, but it only syncs the simcard's PhoneBook entries.
The BT-Monitor on my TP2 (Energy Rom WiMo 6.5.6) shows an active SAP and PBAP connection. Any ideas how I tell my TP2 to distribute the internal Exchange contacts and not the SIM-Contacts?
bye
Darky
