Sorry, i should have mentioned that i did install that cab and it didnt help, i also enabled hspda, but it didnt help either. What did help, was that i went to ATT/cingular's website, added a data plan, which i did not have, but was able to use anyways previously, and rebooted. Now it works, so it looks like ATT was blocking my phone somehow after i changed the radio. I hope this helps someone else. if u have a data plan, try removing it and adding it back again or just call your provider.
I have cingular (att) and have "flashed" several roms from here and have never had any problems connecting to the internet. I have the "unlimited" plan, so maybe that's it?

Just for information: the AT&T pay per use is something that has to be manually added to your plan. If you don't have that or an actual data plan your internet won't work. I had an issue with that a couple weeks ago, somehow my data plan was removed from my account and everything stopped working. Something probably got screwed up somewhere which is why you lost your PPU.
Also, for those that are interested, the settings are as follows:
Modem Type: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
Access Point: wap.cingular
User Name: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
*Advanced Settings*
User server-assigned IP address
Use IP header compression
On THIS PAGE there's a couple of links to Cingular and ATT settings. It's also a good reference for many other things.
Best wishes
I just ran into this issue as well.
1. Bought AT&T Tilt today
2. CID unlocked using instructions in sticky thread
3. Flashed to HTC default ROM using instructions
4. Ran the shogun_cing.cab file posted in this thread
5. Checked the connection settings against AT&T website to make sure they were correct.
6. When initiating a 3G connection, I get "The answering modem has disconnected".
i installed the cab but when i try to browse a website the pocket ie just stays blank :S any ideas?
How can i get online on my Laptop
with the help of My Phone At&t Tilt ?
is there a cab for it ? or ?
Please Help

if you go through T-Mobile go into Settings - Connections - GPRS and make sure all the links have the address wap.voicestream.com also before you do that try going into Start - Accessories - Connection Settings and set your phone up with your country and provider.
Thanx
I Was Wondering if U Knew i Have This Rom Installed Now
RUU_EXCA_3VOLUTION_WM65_3VO.2.80.092509
But I Cannot Figure out how to make my ringtunes with it
i Dont See A Audio Manager One of the other Roms I had i Was Able to set as ringtune And Trim A Song thati had But Now I Cant
On the 3vo ROM's there isn't a way to make ringtones via your WM handset. You can always search softronic or another windows mobile app site for a freeware ringtone editor. I personally make my own externally with a freeware mp3 editor on my PC and then upload them via the USB connection straight to my handset.
Cant unlock my rogers fone !

I have recently bought a HTC Desire HD phone from Softbank in Japan. I have rooted the device successfully and installed Cyanogen 7 Nightly ROM and everything was working fine, However the battery was draining crazily. I found from one of the threads that to fix the problem i need to update the radio. Hence, I updated the radio to 26.04.02.17_M2 as suggested by many people.
Ever since, I am not getting my 3g signal at all, however I can make phone calls and connect to wifi.
I tried installing a different ROM Leedroid 1.5.1 and same problem persists.
Current config
baseband : 12.28e.60.140fU_26.04.02.17_M2
Android : 2.2.1
Build: 1.72.405.3 CL296490 release-keys
Million thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction on how to sort this issue.
Help please
I have found that the problem is connecting to softbank APN. Any help??

Softbank restricts MMS applications using a custom User Agent string. This is probably why it's not working but I'm not sure if someone has created a customized MMS APK for your ROM.
I think I know what the problem is, but to really help, I need to know which country you are currently resident in.

The easiest way to use MMS with SoftBank is by using the SoftBank mail app.
Go here and click on the SoftBank MMS section for info.
This thread is back in February.
When you change rom you need to make sure that you are using the correct APN (Access Point Name) which came with your phone (in the original rom).
The APN is basically the address and password which is used to access your carrier's data/internet access.
You can use a program like APN Backup & Restore which saves your APN info in an .xml file which you can easily restore when you flash a new rom.
Some roms have many APN's listed for you to choose but your's might not be listed or included, plus if you choose the wrong one it can cost you a LOT of money in wrong data fees. (I made this mistake a few years ago with a SoftBank Windows Mobile phone which cost me $1000 equivalent in Japan.)
So get the program above and save your original APN which you are using. (whichever is checked if you have a few listed.)
Then when you flash a new rom - immediately disable Mobile Network (in settings) and install APN Backup & Restore and then delete the new rom's APNs and restore your APN. Then make sure it's checked, switch on Mobile Network and you should be OK. (I reboot and then check it's still checked afterwards). Like I said, if you use the wrong APN, you can get crazy billing fees - regardless of whether your original contract is unlimited packets or not.
I hope this helps.
I helped a buddy of mine flash his phone and root it but he claims that 4G is gone after flashing.
He is with fido, I don't know if it's the same as rogers.
I use odin to flash his phone with CWM-Recovery-LTE-SGS3-v5.tar.md5
And then use TeamEpic-Root-from-Recovery-v5.zip for recovery
Maybe these files are not compatible with fido?
Have him check his IMEI in Settings, About Device, Status and see if it is a string of numbers or zeroes. If zeroes, read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801997
Have you tried creating a new APN? Some ROM might not include the correct APN setting. I am linking an external link (safe), which I cannot confirm the validity: LINK
I can confirm the wap.cingular works for me, but according to that link, I am not getting the H+ or LTE. But I really don't want to risk having my data plan changed (I still have the unlimited $10 plan from a long time ago).
Hope this helps.

Hello all, I am new here to the Galaxy S3 and I am having an issue with the data package not turning on. I bought this phone used and I have come to the realization that 4g is not turning on at all even after restarting it. The Baseband is I747UCLG1 and I am not sure if this phone was rooted or unlocked (not even sure if that would cause this problem). When I checked under status (settings - about - Status) under mobile network state it says disconnected. After doing some searching on here I was thinking of putting the stock rom through ODIN on the phone to see if that would help, but I wanted to check if there might be something I should do or check before doing that.
Thanks in advance

Are you getting any data signal at all? What is your carrier? What is indicated under Service state under status? In service is what you are looking for... If it`s anything else, then i would suggest calling your service provider to inquire. If In Service is what you do have, then hit Settings-More-Mobile networks and check data enabled. Still under mobile networks settings, hit Network Mode and select LTE/WCDMA or LTE/GSM/WCDMA. Regardless of which one you choose, if you are located in an LTE enabled area, you should be able to get the signal.
Also, if you have access to WIFI, one easy way to check if you are rooted is downloading root checker through the app store.
Before doing anything with ODIN, my advice would be to read extensively... you wouldnt want a recently purchased paper weight on your hands.

I am not getting any signal at all, the 4g Signal icon is not even appearing. My carrier is AT&T and it does state "In Service". When I go to hit Network Mode it just says Default setup, but it is not select-able. With root Checker it does say I am rooted with SuperSu and also when I went to update the phone; the phone restarted and came to Team Win Recovery Project. Is there anything I can do to allow me to select the LTE/WCDMA or LTE/GSM/WCDMA?

It will not as it will not touch anything to do with root, super user, or busybox.
If it doesn't do anything I woudl suggest getting the pre-rooted ROM from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
and flash it according to the step in the OP. If you bought it second-hand it hard to know what the person before you did or left on the phone. It will create a clean base. If you don't get a signal then...it could be the sim.
Have you tried adding the correct APN for your carrier ?

Depends on the rom and if it is integrated into it.
Weird that AT&T would cut the chip instead of giving a new one.

I had my phone working fine on 2.3.6, but I have recently flashed my ROM.
I followed these EXACT instructions (http://www.lorenzobettini.it/2013/08/update-samsung-galaxy-wonder-i8150-to-android-jelly-bean/) and afterwards, I couldn't see Virgin Mobile UK as a Network Operator to connect to. So I can only use WiFi. (However, I saw T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone and Three. It automatically connected me to T-Mobile, but nothing worked)
I thought it may be a problem with the ROM, so I used the Stable release of this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2120340 ... I have the same problem.
I've now tried a third: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2401757 ... still doesn't work.
It can't be the ROMs... Could I need to upgrade my baseband? I don't really know what a baseband is, just what hours of Googling has brought up.
How can I fix this?
