Putting a Telstra JASJAM ROM onto a 3 Dopod 838pro - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi all, i have a Dopod 838Pro from Three. A while back i changed to a Telstra SIM. The phone seemed to pick up some Telstra settingswhen doing this but not everything.
I can't get to the Telstra WAP page, BigPond content etc (So no mobile TV or Foxtel).
I'm figuring the easiest way to fix all this would be to flash my phone with a Telstra ROM, however i get a connection error. Does anyone have any ideas or other ROMs i could try?
Has anyone sucessfully done this? -If so which ROM did you use ?
Thanks,
Stephen

G'day Stephen.
There are two cab files you need.
The first is called Telstra_v5.2 (which contains all the Telstra settings) and the second one is Default_imate_MyPlace (which contains the Foxtel link).
The My Place one is attached to this post :http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=6114094
The Telstra one will be around somewhere on the forum (or try a Google search).
Good Luck!

I found the 5.2 cab but have had no luck getting the Myplace cab installed. (Also the link you posted below doesn't have a message attached to it).
Any ideas on where i could find another Myplace cab. It just keeps saying install unsucessful.
Thanks,

Provider Portal

I have recently upgrade my X01HT to WM6... tried both the latest release of Pro Black 2.0 and LVSW... Both were excellent! However, I ran into problem with 3G/HSDPA connection and when viewing my local provider's portal... I am living in HK and while I was on the old Dopod HK WM5 Rom, I was able view the provider's (Smart-tone) portal w/o scrolling left & right. As well, the link for streaming contents are visible. While I am connected to the portal, the connection will drop but automatically re-connect... Have applied the HK Network Wizard extracted from the WM5 ROM and all network settings were applied successfully.
I have read PAPPL's post about browser.dll, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1198850#post1198850... Still not able to get what I used to see on WM5 Rom.
Please shed some light on how the providers usually detect the model of the device and it's capability? I suspect my provider is unable to identify my device and thus failed to adjust it's content to fit the screen, as well as to display the streaming content...
Any suggestions/comments would be highly appreciated!

Generally the pages use the string returned by the browser to determine what it can do....i THINK it returns Mozilla4.0 or something along them lines when you can view pages with images etc....
I havent tried the browser.dll thing to see if it works as i cna still only see the text version of the O2 portal here in UK.
Prior to updating to AKU3.3 (then later WM6) it worked nicely.
Thanks, mrvanx... Your documentations are excellent... Thumbs up for YOU!
What I can do is to downgrade back to WM5 and pull the corresponding registry entry.... only concern is, if the upgraded IE Mobile version? within WM6 may have anything to do with that... struggling...

the reg entry hack doesnt work from AKU3.3 onwards
from what ive read its returned using browser.dll in later versions
mrvanx, wonder if the browser.dll from WM5 (the version that used to work) would help with proper screen formatting on WM6? I have tired to pull a copy from another device running WM5 but it's locked... As well, the file is named something different, like browser.86.dll... Is there a way to extract the copy? Thanks in advance...

Try HTC's local site for your region.
the autoconfig actually resides in the ext. rom. see can you find a cab file named similar to "p_netwiz_2.05_dopodasia_wwe_rtm_20060703".
somehow something is still not right in this version (perhaps it's not designed to work in wm6). you'll still need to touch up on the mms wap/mmsc configuration manually.
Its here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index..._provider_cabs
tried it. Works for Starhub.

Can't install apps

Hi
I upgraded to the new 1.33 rom yesterday and all is great with my T-Mobile Dash, on T-mobile in UK. Wifi and everything is working well.
My only problen is that I've tried to install the WM6 office cab file and skype cab file, and my dash immediately reports installation unsuccessful.
Any ideas why?
I have done a search for this and can't find any posts relating to this.
Cheers

Foxtel and Schaps ROM's

Hi guys..
Ive tried numerous schaps ROMS and cannot for the life of me get FOXTEL working on the Telstra network. Ive installed all the Telstra Cabs inc my places etc but no luck.
It seems as if the IE link does not recognize a 3G portal...
Any help would be appreciated as i cant stand this official Telstra ROM.
Jason
Surely someone must be able to help..... anyone?
Hmmm, thats weird as I have run Schaps 4.22 and got it working fine with the Telstra CAB files. I take you have a version of Schaps with Streaming media? Also what Telstra CAB files are you using? WM6 ones or the old WM5 ones? Do a search here on for Telstra ROM as someone has all the CABS for the new WM6 rom update. From memory I just ran two cab files, Telstra V5.5 & theDefault WM6DST2007-2 and it worked a treat.
Dev
Isnt that the cab for daylight savings??
I installed the No_Video_Uninstall.cab, Telstra V5.5.cab and the My_Places.cab. Still wont work even with streaming media and telstra proxy activated. For some reason it wont recognize the Telstra 3G portal and i think that has something to do with it.

Plz Help i need full rom w/ extendet rom for Orange UK

Hi guys
Could anyone help me to get full rom inc ext rom for orange UK.
I've got Xda trion from o2 - unlocked and my contract just finished so i 've put my orange card in it. phone is working fine
I've also flashed it wit WM6.1 MRH_5.0 and is working ok too but i dont have mms now.
Plese help with properly debranding my Xda from o2 Active to orange UK and be able to keep that nice today screen from MRH 5.0
I've got average knowledge about flashing etc so please give me simple solution
thx
There is, somewhere on this forum, a .cab for both MMS and GPRS settings in .cab files for Orange UK Contracts. I downloaded them myself about two days ago. I can upload the cabs from my phone if need be, but I'll try to find the post with them contained for you.
Edit: Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298813&page=3
Post #30, Page 3.
why not use htc connection wizard, it'll create settings for you?
Installing a cab that does it for you is easier.
So what i should do to remove o2 extended rom?
is this HTC conection wizard included in WM6.1 5.0 that i've already instaled?
I will be grateful for step by step instruction and advice which WM6.1 rom to use to have mms and video call
thank you
Tomas
thx ThinkTankInk
i've got these two files now but i'll wait maybe someone will tell me which WM6.1 ver is the best to use.
Personally I am using Schap's 3.54b. After I put this on my phone, I downloaded the cabs which I included in my previous post and installed them. Now I can make calls, video calls, MMS, SMS, GPRS etc. etc. connections. It's working flawlessly.
I'm not by any means saying this is the best way, but it's most comfortable for me and appears to be working flawlessly.
As I understand it, installing the cabs will just change your GPRS and MMS settings to connect to Orange regardless of which ROM you're on, even if it's O2's own.
Edit: I'm using WM6, not 6.1.
Thx again.
Well i'll try those cab files on the WM6.1 5.0 i got now coz i really like that HTC today screen with blac background and large whie clock thus its a bit slower that WM6.0
