Hi following the instructions for the build 14343 i get a "Model Id Error".
here is the content of my DeviceData.txt ;
PH20B2 B 2 WWE VODAP102 1.40.00 0 0 1.13.00 13.00
is there any particular BaUpgradeUt.exe that i should use?
feel free to email me, Tx
S.
Try the NOID version it will skip the country check , you can get it on the ftp @ ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/Tools/MaUpgradeUt_noID.zip
I believe that should help you, just unzip and put the *.exe in the folder with the upgrade.
I'd be interested to know if WM5 on your PH20B2 worked, as everything to date is concerning the PH20B/1. Also your opinion as to whether WM5 on the PH20B2 is ready for use, or still better to stay on the 1.40 ROM. Things like the backlight issue seems to suggest the latter.
br/Bosseye
Ignore my last email, already solved it. For the PH20B2, do as the WiKi says except be sure to use the PH20B directory. I found that "maupgrade" wouldn't run until I renamed the HTCRUU.conf and HTCRUU.dll files as RUU.conf and RUU.dll respectively. Then all worked as the Wiki suggests. More updates later...
br/Bosseye
Np .. however, In the end the upgrade it is possible but how SLOW is it? I found it unplayable, and I had to go back to WM2k3
Actually, I found it OK. There are a few problems:
- using the BA keyboard, sometimes keypresses are missed
- sometimes you get Wifi and GPRS at the same time (confused BA)
- it does run a little slower
However, overall, I have no intention of reverting back to WM2003SE. Despite the niggles above, it is a great credit to the star chaps in this forum that they have WM5 running, and so good.
Now Mr Gates, about that Messaging and Security Feature Pack - we're (still) waiting... tap... tap... tapitty-tap...
bosseye You can explain to me more in detail as you have made it?

I've flashed a few WM5 roms and never found any missing keypress on the BA keyboard! You can also try PocketMSN for messaging. If the speed is slower than WM2k5, take care of your device with the 'Startup Manager'
heading says it all really - i'm cid locked btw.
cheers

Yes, thanks to This thread.
Worth noting again, that first time around under Vista did not work, I had to dig out an XP based PC to re-flash the original T-Mobile UK WM5 ROM. I then ran the procedure a second time under XP and it worked. The OS may or may not have been the factor, first time round might have been something else. XP was required to restore the original ROM.
The update to WM6 was well worth it in my mind even if purely for the instantly noticeable speed increase of the software.
thanks gajet - i'm gettign more and more tempted. one more thing - where could i get hold of the original t-mob uk rom - just for safety.
cheers
si
if its anything like finding a WM5 tmobile NL rom i'll wish you good luck. couldn't find one after bricking my own MDA CIII trying to upgrade it to WM6.
if you brick it your only choice is to wait until the official WM6 release from tmobile UK or send it back to them for repair
hi fout
well looking at gajet's post it seems there is a uk rom out there in the wild - just wondering where i might find it....
si
I actually found you the link in the main WM6 WWE topic, it links directly to the file on rapidshare.
here you go: http://rapidshare.com/files/17854890/art_tmouk_11311001_024990_wwe_ship.exe
and good luck upgrading your device, can't wait until mine gets back
thx fout - i thought i'd seen it somewhere - you found it - cheers!
si
ok guys - i did it! worked first time - heart in mouth for 15 mins but well worth it. got all my apps working no problem and remembered to write down the t-mobile gprs settings for once!
one other benefit for uk t-mob. on web&walk standard you can't use your phone as a modem - but with this setup you can fabulous!
cheers
si
Installed it today on my MDA3c T-Mobile
But where can I configure the SMS messaging center # (+447958879879) ???
solved
from another thread (Hermes WM6) :
start>phone>menu(softkey)>options>services(tab). Select "Voicemail and Text Messages" then tap "get settings".
Hiya, that rom you posted, what rom is that? Is it an official t-mob one or is it converted from somone else? Thanks
Oh, and how does it work on the UK MDA with its missing wifi?

hi danny
it works fine with the lack of wifi - just doesn't have a button in comms manager as before. the rom we're talking about in this thread is the official t-mob uk wm5 (five) rom - which is good to have in case the update goes wrong.
i'm using bepe's rom on my mda c iii and it's tons better than the original. just make sure you read the threads first for instructions.
good luck.
si
thanks, which wm6 rom do you recommend?
If anybody interested in my few hours expirience with MDA C III UK + WM6 here it is:
Device: MDA Compact III UK original ROM,
Unlocked before wth IMEI Check
First I used the USPL as advised by Pof here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311479
It didn't work first time. I had errors 260 and 270. I repeated the process and it went OK after second time. Then I flashed with the B&W V2 rom. It seemed to end OK.
Notes: Before the play I used latest SPB Backup and made full backup in FlightMode. First thing I did after waking the device in WM6 was restore from it. The process went OK. After restart I got tens of notifications about installing untrusted or something DLLs and EXEcs. After that it hanged and didn't even wanted to wake up anymore.
So - hard reset -> partial restore -> PIM data only and it worked.
Excel and Word are buggy in terms of file handling. You can forget about them for now or use only as readers.
Comm Manager was working only up to the first reset. Then all buttons are hiden under the last one in upper-left corner. You can actualy see them rendering one after another.
GPS checked using iGo 2006 - working fine.
Conclusion:
I'm going to check how it synchronises with Missing Sync on my Mac. The latest version sould work with WM6. If it works I think I'm gonna stay with it longer. Word & Excel is not used by me often enough to stop me trying this Rom. Comm Manager - though, can try to live without it.
I have just flashed with the black and blue rom and all is well apart from the comm manager, yup, all one big mess in the top left. think its something to do with wifi, it was fine on the first boot, it showed the wifi icon but now its reset its gone all funky.

Probably not, but the Optus and Vodafone code will work under Telstra Next-G
Network Setup Wizard gets all the MMS and Internet settings right first go aswell
I suspect we will never see a JasJam ROM as imate have dropped HTC as a supplier. I doubt they will got to the trouble of providing WM6 and Telstra won't do it on their own.
The original Dopod SEA WWE works great and also automatically sets up Telstra's settings. It also has the bonus of not being carrier branded and pleasingly less green than the HTC ROM.
Thanks a Million Guys.
I am sure I-mate will never have an update for JasJam especially with a WM-6 ROM.

So NextG is a definite go with this rom? Should I see an H in the menu or just 3G??
Greg
I just have the 3G icon to start off with, then it goes to H when i start up the data connection.
Only thing i had to do to get it going was set network type to WCDMA

Here is the way to get "everything telstra" working on your black dymond.
Step one
Install the attached telstra my place cab. Then proceed as follows....
Under connections select new connection.
Name it Telstra Internet
Click the modem tab. Click new.
Name the connection Telstra Internet
Select a Modem (GPRS, 3G)
access point name telstra.wap
Click finish
Set proxy to 10.1.1.181 port 80
HTTP should be 10.1.1.181:80
Then open telstra my place icon and navigate to foxtel. This should work.
Note to access non telstra sites you might need to disable proxy in my connections
Hope this works guys. pm if any trouble.

I flashed this ROM on my Telstra i-mate Jasjam (though I use Optus) . Works great! Network Wizard automatically set up all Optus settings. Now get 3G and HSPDA speeds and MMS settings all work! Thanks to all for sharing their insights and making our devices better than ever!
new official (really official) ROM!
AT&T just released their official WM6 ROM. I won't be able to load it until tomorrow. If anyone does, please post here if it's any better than the original "official" ROM.

Imate Telstra Rom Windows Mobile
Hi spoke to a support person about a week ago and he reconed a new rom was coming for Telstra customers for Mobile 6
Hi all
Sorry if this question might sound silly but i am new to this.
I have recentley aquired a imate jasjam:
ROM version; 1.31.305.2
ROM date; 09/08/06
Radio version; 1.20.31.10
Protocol version; 32.52.7020.00H
ExtROM version; 1.31.305.103
now this is set to telstra settings
I however have a three network and dont know the setting to set it to work with three network. when i rang 3 support they told me i need to get the dopod pro which works on their network.
I though the dopod pro and imate jasjam where the same phone but they tried to convince me it is different and advised me of not trying to put dopod software on jasjam as it might lock the phone.
So now i am totally confused
Do i update my imate with the WM-6 ROM from above link? if so how...
thnx in advance for any help
Official imate WM6
Here is a link to the official release of the imate WM6 release for the Jasjam: http://clubimate.com/jasjamsupport/JASJAMAU.html
You can then configure your settings for any operator after that. And you are right - the 838pro and jasjam are the same!
I would recommend flashing the Dopod rom or a Schaps rom. These have Network wizard which will setup all your settings. I am on 3 also and use Schaps rom. Works perfectly.
thnx a million guys
will look into both..
schaps looks good, first time flashing so i hope i dont brick the thing.
cheers

It was daunting at 1st for me, but after you'v done it once it's easy!
There is a Telstra WM6 rom
I'm a bit confused by some of the comments above. There is a Telstra WM6 rom available on the Club iMate site. I had downloaded and installed it successfully but unfortunately it is not supported by BB Connect 4.0.0.9x so I went back to the Dopod Asia build.
Another update from 3Aus - 6 months old, but not listed anywhere?
Strangely, I can't see any mention in the forums of the 3Aus 838pro update available from 3... They mention version 1.30.707.8, which looks like it's supposed to be newer than the one mentioned above (which ends in .707.4)... It's been available for a while, and I don't know how it compares with some of the cooked ROMs available.
http://www.three.com.au/Dopod (Select 838pro from the dropdown, then "Planet 3 software upgrade" link, then another "Planet 3 software upgrade" link... Page contains download and install instructions, and some )
Direct link to download: http://203.210.124.136/3/software/Dopod_838_Pro_p3.exe
Supposedly, according to an sms I got maybe 6 months ago, this update is supposed to enable streaming content on Planet3. I haven't tried it yet, but will be doing so in the next few days. Has anyone else had a look at this? It's not listed in the wiki either, as far as I can see... (I'm about to try it out because of not being able to get Planet 3 streaming under WM6.1...)
Edit: Never mind, this is a WM5 update. We don't have it listed anywhere, though, so I'll add in some details about it...
ROM Version 1.30.707.8 Date 12/13/06
Radio: 1.27.30.10
Protocol: 32.60.7020.06H
SPL: 1.09
IPL: 1.01
It does have streaming under Planet 3 working, though. I'll try to figure out how it works.

Hi there,

Thanks in advance
This link is not working, is there any other linkwhere i can download
838 Pro WM6 ROM code for Hutchison ‘3’ Network - version 3.54.707.4. Currently i have 3.54.707.3 Aus Hutchison - 3 Network ROM.
Can any one send me the link to download.
Hi all - sorry about this, but I'm new to this. Got an Orange M700 - still running the original Orange branded WM5 OS: yup, Orange have mangled it. I've been reading the (many...many...many) threads and the wiki and... well I think I'm more confused than ever.
So, just wondering if someone can advise me on the best route to upgrade, and bear in mind I'm a graphics guy....
So, briefly
from the Orange WM5, is there a straight one-step upgrade to WM6?
What .cabs/versions should I be looking for? -> I know there are many you guys have tuned. I guess I'm looking for a fairly standard one? Unless you think otherwise!
Are there any major caveats (other than warranty/support invalidation)?
Need a little hand-holding...
Thanks in advance.
Hi, welcome..
I have M700 too, took the plunge a while back and loaded one of Mun's ROM's.
All I did was install activsync onto my pc and hook up the phone for the first time, once that ran its course I unplugged the phone powered down and removed the sim & sd card and then powered back up again.
Once up n running I plugged it back into the pc and ran the rom I had chosen, yes I was worried it might go wrong but I have to say it was and is very simple n straight forward. There is a WM5 Orange backup rom on here so if you ever did need to send back then you can flash this back onto the phone so it "looks" normal, tbh I'd doubt it would come to that.
I was using XP-SP2 at the time, not sure of anything different for Vista but that's where others here will put you straight, since then I have altered rom many a time and finally settled for Tom's Black'n'Blue - nice and fast and room to add what I want to add rather than be given. Oh and also update the radio rom to the latest version too, pretty much the same method.
Have a look at the roms and decide what you want Happy modding...
Only "gotcha" try and flash from XP, it is rumored to be problematic on a vista PC.
Also be warned flashing ROMs can be addictive, think i have tried 8 or 9 on my Trinity to find one i like, have yet to try the MUN one suggested in the previous post, looks like it will be next.
Ah, twas an early Mun rom and was WM5 - like I said the very first rom I'd flashed so I wouldn't flash to that now
Also realised why i hadn't tried it, i have tried several 6.1 ROMs and none of the WM6 ones. Probably will now i think about it though.
spv m700
Just joined the forum, thought I'd say hi.
I've just bought an spv m700 (following 2 years of the great spv m600), mainly because I wanted inbuilt gps.
The previous owner flashed it with Windows Mobile 6.1, I've yet to really test it.
First of all, I'm going to re-install all my Spb software (spb time, spb backup, spb mobile shell, etc) and transfer contacts etc via active sync.
If anyone has any advice or tips n tricks that you feel may benefit me, I'm all ears.
Cheers,
Matt.

First of all, welcome!
You have to know that the key to knowledge is searching, reading, and if none of those work, asking through posting!
So, happy enlightment and enjoy your device!
OK Monkeybox - hold out your hand - here's mine.
First thing - choose a ROM (sorry, you'll need to make your own choices). Judging by what you have said a LITE ROM would suit your needs.
I have tried most trinity ROMS. I like ADW's ROMs, am currently on Akeo's ROM but have tried LVSW, mUn, black and blue, PDAVIET, FInixNOver, ervius etc etc etc (Sorry if I've tried and forgotten your ROM!). Once you have your ROM, you should unlock the phone
1. (Hard-SPL - Service Providor Lock). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299659 This will enable you to flash a ROM with different carrier ID to you SPV M700. OK - Once you have hard-spl'd your phone, find the RUU (Rom Update Utility) exe file within the ROm that you downloaded.
2. Connect your phone (windows XP is best) using activesync and when activesync is connected, run the RUU Updater. The phone will switch off and go into "bootloader" (coloured bars on screen). If you get a connection error here, just run the RUU updater again. this time things should get going. When finished - your new ROM is installed - no more Orange!
3. Next update the Radio - search xda-developers.com using google for Trinity Radio - and choose 1.46 or 1.5x.
4. Install missing software (generally you'll need a GPS navigation software at least).
5. Enjoy.
6. If you like a ROM - donate to the cooker
7. Get a flashing addiction
8. Read all of the Kitchen threads
9. Cook your own ROM
10. Share it with us
11. Be eternally happy

Thank you, and all others who have responded, for your greatly appreciated advice! I've been trying to get my head around the process. Have backed up using PIM backup and settings saviour... and with your hand holding, am about to dive into the world of modding!
It's a little daunting for a newbie (and I really do mean a newbie!), but with everyones help, and this fantastic community as a resource, bah, watch me fly! (I'll probably be back tomorrow asking how I can de-brick the phone ;O) )
Thanks again all.
Cool. Upgraded to WM6.1 - Akeos latest black one.
Have to say the functionallity is 10 times better already. Upgraded to the latest radio too.
HOWEVER... and this is where the newbie kicks in, I can't seem to start any data sessions. IN COmm manager I don't have the option to turn the data connection on (this was also the same prior to the radio upgrade)
Don't suppose anyone knows how to resolve this do they?
As I say, taking my first steps on the modding ladder, and it appears I may have slipped...

You have to define your data connection from "Start, Settings, Connections, Connections, My ISP, Add new" according to your carrier (ie GPRS, 3G). Same goes to configuring MMS, just that you do it at "Start, Settings, Connections, Connections, My Work Connection" and you also have to define it in Arcsoft MMS.
You will not be able to start them from the CommManager as they connect on demand as needed, but you can STOP the in the CommManager when they are connected since they don't disconnect automatically.

Once more, thanks to all who've helped me over the threshold - the data connection must have been an issue with the signal, as this morning it was happy to connect to mms/internet via 3G/GPRS and HSDPA (which I didn't even know Orange supported).
Cheers all. Your help has been absolutely spot-on. It's refreshing to come to a community where you not only happy to help newbies, without the usual sarcasm or pomposity you find elsewhere, but you do so in a clear and concise way that really does help.
Thanks all. Look what you've gone and started now... !!!
One happy newbie stepping out into a brave new world...

have fun with your spv
I have a problem, and the more I search the forums, the more I worry it may be due to an upgraded Rom.
The original owner of the spv m700 I just bought has by the looks of it debranded it and installed WM 6.1:
Device name: HTC_P3600i
Model NO: TRIN100
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
ROM version 3.03.751.5
ROM Date: 04/01/08
Radio Version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol Version: 32.53.7018.01H
With Tomtom 6 installed and seemingly working, the GPS receiver is not being detected. I have done what the forums say, i.e. selected "NMEA GPC receiver", get a screen with:
COM3: GPS in COM9
COM7: RIL on COM6:
S2410 IRDA
I have clicked on the first option (COM 9 is recommended), but still no GPS device found, indoors or out, after 10 minutes of trying
Like I say, much info says the above should solve it, but others say an upgrade can knock out the GPS and it needs to have a different ROM reinstalled. Never done this before, and there may be an easier solution?
Help anyone.... please.......?!
I'm not 100% sure but I think your radio rom needs upgrading to support GPS - I'm sure the one's that do have 11 at the end of them..
Really?? It would be great to finally reach a soultion!
Can someone verify if this is true and if so, what do I have to do??
Thanks.
Hi Monkey Boy and all.
I think I'm in a similar situation that you were...
The original owner of my new spv m700 debranded it, unlocked it (by flashing an old radio ROM) installed WM 6.1. I now fear that the reason tomtom detests no GPS device is because the radio may need updating too... (see below for the spec on my phone at the moment).
Have you discovered which is the best radio to update to?
Device name: HTC_P3600i
Model NO: TRIN100
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
ROM version 3.03.751.5
ROM Date: 04/01/08
Radio Version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol Version: 32.53.7018.01H
All advice and recommendations welcomed. I have never flashed anthing before so this is all new to me, but I like to think I learn fast...
Thanks,
Matt

I managed to get in touch with the original owner and he sent me a link to an an .exe file which I downloaded, ran whilst activesynced to my phone, and voila! I now have radio ROM 1.50.08.11. Tomtom 6.03 now successfully works using settings "other NMEA GPS receiver" with "GPS baud rate 115200" and "GPS in Com9"!
I'm a novice and bought the phone as a "pimped up" spv m700. But I'm learning loads since joining thanks to people like your good self answering posts, so thanks.
Matt
Thanks to seeing your signature I'm sorted! If you read anyone else with the same problem, I hope my experience helps them.
Thanks again for your time,
Matt.
Hello,
I have searched hours to have a blackberry client working on my Artemis :
- have tried many versions
- have tried different ROMs from Meschle
Everytime I have same result I cannot connect to Blackberry and the black berry client does not show any service...
Anyone have HTC P3300 (Artemis) with working Blackberry client?
Please advise I I really need this for my work...
My current configuration :
HTC Artemis P3300 unlocked
Meschle's ROM 4.02 Lite w CUBE
I live in the czech republic and my SIM card is a T-Mobile one with all services activated (BlackBerry + Edge...)
Thanks

Dont work
Thanks for reply but I already read this post among many others it does not work on my Artemis... still cannot connect or get an IP...
How to know which version of radio i have? is it on boot screen?
Thanks
I have an Artemis and I am using the blackberry functionality successfully. Here is a site where you can find all information about HTC and blackberry:
http://sems.org/entry.asp?ENTRY_ID=276
Under Start-Settings-System-Device Information you can find all information required about the OS etc. of your Artemis. I use the 03.07.90 Radio version and it works fine for me. I use the Artemis Touch 3.01 Rom. Apparently nobody has been able to run the blackberry connect under WM 6.01.
For me it was crucial, to ask your IT department to re-activate my Blackberry account. Before, nothing worked and since then, it is quite stable. I use 4.0.0.97.
Hope this helps.
WM5?
Thanks a lot for reply.
So are you advising me to flash my device with a ROM containing WM5?
I would do it if I find that I can use BlackBerry as this is very important for me...
Are there any big differences between WM5 and WM6? Would I lack anything by downgrading ROMs?
Currently I have Artemis Touch 4.02 WM6.1 WWE ROM, 5.2.19199 (Build 19199.1.0.0) (Lite)
Thanks again.

As mentioned, Blackberry connect does not work with WM6.1, but does with WM6. I am using
Artemis Touch 3.01 Rom
which is based on WM6.
All OK
So I downgraded ROM from 4.02 Lite WM6.1 to 3.01 Lite ...
Then I installed BB Connect (same version as you as all others don't work with this ROM and my device)
Finally I got the everything working!!! What a releaf !!!
Thanks a lot!!
Nevertheless I am looking forward for next ROM from Meschle which will be compatible with newer releases of the BB Client...
Best regards,
P.S. I also tweaked registry in order to save my corporate emails to storage card instead of main memory!!
P.S.2 : Didn't you notice that your device is slower after installation of black berry services?
How did you do the tweak of the registry?
In some instances, my Artemis has become slower, sometimes it even seems, it hangs up. But it seems that this is the price to pay.
BTW, HTC and RIM have now entered into a strategic partnership and all future HTC models should be automatically provided with Blackberry connect. Thus we might see an updated version of Blackberry connect sonn, that also works with WM6.1.
...
Hey,
Thanks for update...
I have modified the registry this way :
1- add "PropertyPath" value="\Storage Card\Mail" datatype="string"
to this place in Registry : HKLM\System\Inbox\Settings
*** Note : Do not put quotes in the value... ***
*** You can edit registry with many editors such as PHM or TRK ***
2- Create a folder Mail in on your storage card
3- Copy whole content of \Windows\Messaging in the new created folder \Storage Card\Mail
4- Finally after you do this make sure that you take away the messaging today plugin from today screen (important... you can put it back after soft reset)
5- Soft Reset
-----------------------------
I have another problem now with the BB Connect. Since I installed it everything is fine just I have to unlock my phone every 30 min using a password. This is very annoying as you have to open keyboard and enter password everytime you dont use your phone for some time...
Do you have this as well?
Is there any way to disable locking of phone?
Thanks
Solved
I have solved the password issue :
I downloaded MEMMAID application which is able to manage system services and I manually stopped the BlackBerry Security service.
Be careful though this is a powerful piece of software which can really harm your device if misused...
advice : do not change the service startup type (auto/manual) just stop the service after each Soft Reset otherwise you will not be able to use your device after soft reboot.
I managed to get my Blackberry Connect working on my P3300. Here are the details:
HTC P3300 (purchased in India)
Artemis Touch 4.02 ROM
Radio 3.08.90
Blackberry Connect Version 4.0.0.97
Device Id set to HTC_P3300
HKLM\System\Version\AKU = .0.3.1
Carrier = Airtel India (http://www.airtel.in/wps/wcm/connect/airtel.in/Airtel.In/Home/ForYou/BlackBerry/)
Connecting to BES on Exchange at company workplace.
I see email, calendar, notes and contacts synced from my Outlook.
Thanks to all for the data/input on versions/radios, etc.
tip
Hey,
I updated ROM (6.1) and for some reason the connection would last few seconds and then I would loose IP address...
Long time I didn't know what to do and even going back to original working ROM it didn't work...
Finally, I deleted my internet connection and soft reset.. HOP the connection was up and running again
So now I will add again my internet GPRS connection (for www and other games/weahter...) and will see... Probably I have to setup some sort of exceptions in the lists to prioritize BlackBerry somehow...
Cheers.
BTW, BlackBerry works with WM 6.1 ! Also there is new version 4.0.0.100 which works as well for me.
