never seen anything like that
closest thing i've seen is a CF card with usbhost
think if it was possible with sdio it would require an external psu for power
dont believe that sdio provide 2.5watt which is required

thank you for your response I wasn't aware of 2,5W power requirement.
So I should not wait for it..

Can I Read USB Flashdisk using Dopod 810?

Guys....
I just came with noob question here.......can I use my dopod 810 to read an usb flash disk(flash drive)?
using cable converter from mini usb 5 pins to Female usb....and flash disk.
thanks
Short answer - I think no, your Trinity can't be used to read a USB flash drive, particularly not without extra software.
People much more informed than me can correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I inderstand USB is that some device has to act as the "host" of the USB device. The host provides data flow control information AND power (5v). The Trinity could probably be programmed to act as a USB host (even that I'm not sure of), but I doubt there's any way for the Trinity to provide 5v of current from its USB jack.
The Trinity CAN be used AS a USB flash drive with some additional software, since it's designed to hook up to a host device normally.
Someone explain if I'm wrong.
Mike
thanks for the info mike......have you heard about "Softick Card Export"?
It makes my trinity able to read MMC or SD card....so I was wondering, if I have a cable that can connect an USB Flash disk with my trinity.....I can read USB flash disk in my device.
I am not sure that I had correct thought, maybe someone could explain to me whether my thought was correct or not.

ASAIK this is wrong. Card Export makes your Trinity ACT like a USB STICK. So you can read your Trinitiys Memory card on any pc without active sync...

Sorry, this connects your Windows Mobile device to a desktop PC as if it were a USB drive, hence the first feature “Connects Windows Mobile device as USB Mass Storage to any operation system”.
I guess it works similar to WM5torage except it will cost you $14.95 USD.
Your theory is right though, if we could make an adaptor that went from your MiniSD slot to a full size female USB then the device could read any USB drive.
A MiniSD card needs around 2-3.5 volts to operate so the devices slot must provide at least this much power. Okay a USB drive needs around 5 volts but it could be possible.
I don’t have a spare MiniSD to try this out on though.
Kind of like this or this except with a MiniSD instead of a TypeII Compact Flash card.
That would be cool

Yeah...I guess you are correct.....I have this noob thought when I needed to read an usb flash disk while I only had my D810
Using an adapter (like the link that you posted here) its a great idea. However, is there an adapter that fits mini sd?
it cant read usb devices over it's usb connector only usb host cable devices can do that and trinitry is not
guess it would be possible to develop a device which fit in the microSD slot
and had electronics to act as a usb host in 1 end and microSD card in the other but it would be pretty complex and would prob cost a great deal
much much more so if one had to pay all the developing cost oneself

Micro SDHC

Ok I have a Sandisk 16g micro sdhc card that reads and writes fine in my touch pro 2 but if I take it out and try to write to it with a card adapter it says that the memory card is write protected. Does the TP2 put some kind of write protection on it or is this an issue with the card itself?
The card is ok.
The write protection is on card adapter.
Already tried that...
Im aware of that and Ive tried two different card adapters withe lock off and no luck.

I can take the card from my (TMo) TP2, put it in my PC with an adapter, and write to it, so I don't think the TP2 is the problem.
I don't know the answer, but did you possibly format the card for some reason, maybe on the TP2? Also, I tried googling "can't write to sd card on PC" and came up with quite a few suggestions. Good luck.
NUTZ
ok well i did some searching and it appears to be something with the usb. It will read and writ just fine it i use something attached to a usb cord but it gives me the write protection message when I put it in an adapter. Go Figure.

[Q] Has USB host for the Incredible ever been accomplished?

I would like to transfer photos from camera to phone...It would be awesome if I could do this while on vacation.
Where would you even find the correct usb cable if the phone could read it. Also i dont know about your camera but mine uses a sdmicro card just like the phone does. So i could just pop the card out of the camera put it in the phone, copy the files to emmc and then pop out the cameras sd and replace the phones sd. If your camera uses a regular sd card you could buy a microsd and an adapter to use in your camera.
So as an answer to my question, that is a... NO, USB host has not been developed for the Inc.
Thanks for the suggestions, but they aren't what I am looking for, not enough speed (sd card adapter) and emmc isn't big enough to help much, anyway. The reason is I don't want to waste money on more high-speed cards, or a computer. I just need decently large space to store, when I get back to the hotel and the end of the day.

Yeah without buying new cards or a pc your outta luck. Unless you have one of those expensive cameras that uses wifi to upload to photobucket or flicker etc.

It's doable yes, but I'm not sure how to test it without the hardware/cabling and software would have to be written for it as I don't think it's built into the API. Honeycomb does support it.
For gingerbread, you need a usb host driver at least and not sure after that.
Long answer, it can be done but so far no one has done it. Short answer, not likely unless someone can do the necessary coding.
EDIT: And, does there even exist a usb cable between phone and camera? Maybe but that's not really my expertise.
I could certainly do the cable myself (might not be pretty), but the driver/coding is what I hoped somebody else had done

does the otg can read card reader?

hi
i try to connect to my gn these thing with the card
http://www.techfresh.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Lexar-Outs-32GB-Class-10-microSDHC-card-1.jpg
and the stick mount doesn't work on it...it soppuse to read it?
thanks
Are you formatted fat32? And I suppose there could always be an incompatibility though it should work. Also try it on a powered hub.
let it be.
yes it's fat32
i tried a diffrent card reader like these
http://www.letsgodigital.org/images/artikelen/238/hama_card_reader_bundle_arcsoft_software.jpg
and it also doesn't work
Well I would guess its your otg cable if your SD card is formatted correctly. Some people report their otg cable was culprit. I bought two different kinds in case one didn't work. Also, have you verified a regular USB thumb drive works first?
let it be.
regular dok workes fine...
Well then the reader probably doesn't work over otg. Idk if it readers fault or stick mount's fault. But you can't blame stick mount as it is the glue temporarily for USB otg til Google gets off its duff and supports it natively in the os. Nobody knows what or when.
let it be.

OTG doesnt work.

Hi guys.
First time I bought USB-OTG adapter from China and tried it, it didnt work for me. I guessed that cable is incorrect and bought another one at shop. CheckR is said that all okay, but it still doesnt work with any flash card.
So I have 2 adapters Type C - USB A, 2 different flash cards, I tried exFAT, NTFS and FAT32, it just connect and disconnect a thousands times but doesnt mount, I could see USB1102 at explorer sometimes but it unmount in 1 second. Any suggestion about it?
I feel sorry about my English, if u cant understand, pls ask me.
Agree. It sounds like a bad cable. Try this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XHOGEZG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00.
I tried a different one before this and had to send it back.

Reviews seem very hit and miss on that -- lot of folks saying it doesn't work with the 6P. Frustrating. I can't find a Type C OTG cable on amazon that has consistent positive reviews, and Benson seems solely focused on A-to-C cables.

I have a type C adapter that takes an micro SD card and it is working great with my Nexus 5x.
Have you tried opening settings then storage?
With my old Nexus 5 I used StickMount an app by Chainfire to access OTG. MM supports USB but unlike StickMount I couldn't locate my OTG device with my file manager, opening settings then storage I can access OTG.
Just installed StickMount and can access my OTG device with my file manager, so StickMount does work with the Nexus 5x. My preference is using the OTG support built into MM, rather than StickMount.
Hope this is helpful, good luck.
So guys, I have already installed StickMount. I tried once more and it mounted as picture store I saw my files but it been unmounted in 10 seconds.. I think that problem not in cable coz there are few good reviews from n5x owners.
