Windows Live 10.6.32.2100,For cook only. - P3600 ROM Development

1,dump from a chinese rom, so including chinese MUI files, please remove it before update.~~~i am lazy.
2,it is not a cab, just files, can cook or update by replace the files in same name, and no change to reg. i checked it to make sure the files list is full(no lack of file)
3,i did not read through forum and just did a simple search, if some one already posted it, please ignor me, and please dont laugh at me........

ok , i cooked it into bepe's rom, just by replace the files with same name.
so far so good, no bugs found.
but you guys know what, the best version of WLM is 10.6.30.2100(i didn't typing wrong, most of you never seen this version number)
it is also a chinese version build-in a chinese pda rom, be dumped out. It is easy to remove the mui files to make it WWE, so i cooked it into the "Big Black" in this forum then used it for few days just for test it.
Chinses PDA fans compared some versions of WLM including the latest one, and they made a vote in a their forum.
interesting thing is, the version 10.6.30.2100 have better compatibelity??(omg, can someone tell me how to spell it) and less bugs than the newest version.
and i am thinking, does the end number 2100 means the version is for Chinese Wm6 Rom?

Sorry guys i'm new to this, i have an O2 xda11s what will installing the extended rom do and how do i do it.
Thanks in advance
OK, I am either old, stupid...or both??
OK, folks, I am scared of a lot of this, I guess because I don't understand it yet...I dl'ed hte Siemens file, unzipped it, now what....??
I see a file called AUTORUN, should I double click that file, and pray like anything??
I guess the simple word here is "HELP!!!!"
Thanks in advance for everybody's assistance!!
Tom
The Extended ROM is just a collection of applications and patches that the provider included with the phone... for instance, the O2 Ext. ROM includes a PDF/Power point viewer .cab in theirs that I-Mate doesn't include with the PDA2k Ext. ROM. The naming convention of these .cabs makes it semi-difficult to find out what each .cab does without testing it. To install a .cab, simply copy it over to your phone, browse to its location and tap on it. I would recommend doing a backup, as you can't really uninstall a lot of these .cabs.
Does anyone know of any updates posted anywhere for the Orange version of the Blueangel - the SPV M2000? Either on the Orange website or elsewhere?
Thanks!
XDA For Dummies?
Here is the problem I have...there is a LOT of info here, for which I am VERY grateful; but there seems to be an assumption that everyone here knows all this stuff already. And I will be the first to admit, I DON'T!!!
I have the updated extended rom files, and I am being told to put them on the handheld, and run the cab files. Well, the updated rom files contain more than cab files! Where do I put htem, and which ones where?
Is there a "XDA FOR DUMMIES" guide somewhere? I would really like to update my unit, but I don't understand WHERE the files need to go...
Here is the file list from the SX66 Update:
AddContacts.exe
AutoRun.exe
BA_Album_WWE.CAB
Button.CAB
CallerID.CAB
Cin_inbox_ap.CAB
Cingularsplash.cab
Cingularcustomize.cab
Config.txt
Enable_GPRS.CAB
getmail.CAB
JAVA_WWE.CAB
MEdiaNet.CAB
MIDI561.CAB
MMS_WWE.CAB
RestartRadio.exe
StartServices.CAB
TPDisable.exe
TPEnable.exe
version.CAB
WLANPatch.CAB
Exactly where do I put them, how do I put them there, and how do I do the update?
Please forgive me for being a bit obtuse, but I was not born knowing all this stuff , and I cannot find the info anywhere! IS THERE A STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR DOING THIS KIND OF THING?
Hell, I would make a $25 USD donatin to the forum if we could get some kind of "dummies guide"...
Many thanks for your time, and I hope, some assistance!
Tom
I forgot...
Oops, I forgot...HOW do I back up this "extended rom" so if there is a problem, I can return to the previous state? Can that be done...how?
Enquiring minds really want to know!!
Tom
No clue............
I don't get how to install these either.
The custom 9th button assignment one is cool! (for the "E" button the bottom of the keyboard)
Most of these CAB files complain that it's not in ROM in \Windows etc (yes/no/cancel)
How do we allow the CAB files to write to protected ROM?
I've searched this forum and cant find a description on these extended roms either. It's not fun to install stuff in trial and error mode. (anyone care to give a quick breakdown or add a text file to the zip file?)
For a better understanding of extenedrom read:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=13072
NOTE this is about a XDAII and **YOU** are in the Blueangel forum !!!!!
Siemens has a WLAN Patch in its uploaded extened rom,
Anybody know what it is ??
(yes I know its a Wlan Patch have other operators used it)
If you are talking to ME...
I have a SX66, which IS a Blue Angel!
Take care!
i-mate PDA2K WWE is blueangel isnt it? I still dont quite understand how to load the rom upgrades that complain about read only rom over-write errors.
Extended ROMs for Dummies (The books,so no insults intended)
Aloha
Maybe I am feeling sorry for all of the new people who have been lucky enough to stumble onto this site. This site started as a developer site as we took apart the early HTC products to see what made them tick. Here is a quick overview of the extended rom.
Your phone is made up of three rom files. (radio, OS, and extended) The OS and radio ROMs make up the guts of the phone, but the extended ROM is where your provider or reseller (Cingular, O2,T-mobile, Imate) places custom software that differentiates themselves.
This extended rom contains a number of CAB files that usually auto install after a hard reset. You can see them by searching for the Extended_rom unlock tool on this site. Once you unlock this area of your device, you will see a new Extended_storage area. Place the files you like from the downloaded roms. There are great features to pick and choose from such as modified phone applications, ring tones, PDF and PPS viewers ect.
You can click on any of the cabs or modify the config.txt to install the programs. Since many of the programs are similar and probably already installed, you may get an error about the file being locked in ROM.
I hope this helps.

WM 6.1 in PTB

Anyone knows if it exist ?
Fred
I'm assuming PTB is an abbreviation for Brazilian Portuguese. As with Spanish and just about every other language, the only way to get WM6.1 localized is to get it from your cellular carrier or the phone's manufacturer.
I'd suggest talking with rickwyatt to see if Windows Mobile is as easy to localize as more enlightened operating systems.
For now there is just a "generic" HTC rom for PTB.
is there a WM61 ESN localization?? thank you
No wm 6.1 in portuguese language

Yeah, as far as I know (from what I've searched and asked) that's the current status, and there's no wm 6.1 version, only wm 6.0.
I posted the link in Profezza's thread about official ROMs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381726&highlight=offical+rom) a while ago, here it goes again:
http://www.mediafire.com/?9gbwdzd2omg
(it's from my personal stash, I liked/copied Mikey1022's idea )
If someone has any different/new info on this, please post.
Cheers.

A while ago, Ricky started a thread of how to cook your own ROM. I was trying to translate Ricky's ROM to spanish but I had no luck. It took several hard resets to finally give up. I think (and sure it's applicable to all languages) that the translation has to do something with .mui files and folders. I got them from some ROM in spanish but then I had no idea of how to put them all in an installable ROM and finally working. I think it would be a great idea if we all try to come with some tutorial of how to do this. Any ideas will be welcome.
Cheers

MSVC in french

Hi,
I have bought MSVC some years ago (at the time of version 1.5...) and I can't find a way to instal it on my current ROM (6.5.3). I understood that the version I originally got, as well as the fix to upgrade to 1.6 are not compatible with 6.5, fair enough. But I can't find an updated one in french. I only could find one in english and it works - except that I need to spell the names with an english prononciation and it is not the most convenient way...
I have found some stuff for multi language support in the Da_G thread but as I'm not a cook, I don't know how to use them. Is it possible to build a cab file to install the french version of MSVC? If yes, where could I find infos?
Sorry if this has been already asked and answered, I did search and did not find anything...
Thanks !

Rom Cooking

Hi,
I could really do with a hand, I've never cooked a Rom before, I have a Chinese wm6.1 phone C6, now the thing is I use the forum for this this phone and it seems that the forum is divided into 2 parts, the Chinese users and the overseas users(me)
The Chinese users seems to cooking away faster than Gordon Ramsay, but because of the language barrier they don't seem to be telling us how they are cooking these Roms. obviously it's possible because they are doing it. I have one of there cooked Roms installed on my phone and only want to change the language from Chinese to English, could someone please give me a hand in trying to accomplish this?
I could even provide the Bin file if easier!!
I would be so so grateful!!

Manila Version 2_5_19211619_0 out of a ROM take?

Are not safe me whether I wrote this now into the correct range..
The MOD or Admin cannot push it if it is correct gladly into the correct range. Cook at a Blackstone HD ROM
Wants to replace gladly individual components of my ROM or also only take.
It concerns Manila Document Tab from version 2_5_19211619_0 or also the whole version infer.
Gladly I would use also only individual components of Manila of it since nevertheless everything of it is not needed.
My ROM is the version WM 6.5 21882 from Blackstone HD GER
Now I find however here nothing, how this lets itself realize in ervius the Kitchen.
From there also the question to the Cooks of ROMs is somehow feasible this.
Sorry for my English, it is not the best..
I close now this procedure, there here no the trouble made myself for me to help here.
