ok i used to have wm6 offical rom, i bought software and they give me licence code depend upon another code generated by my device
the problem when i changed to another rom the code my device generate has been changed so the other code not accepted this software works when i have the offical rom
I don't think there's a way to "recover" the old code. I suggest you contact the software vendor, explain your situation, and ask for a new license key.
i will do,thanks

Also, many codes are based off of the "Name" you enter in user section of the phone. If you go to the settings, you can set owner info. Try to set it back to whatever it was. Some keys are generated off of the phones internal ID as identified by the ROM (like TOM TOM), but you cannot fix that.

that doesn't even make sense...
why not just post the question "AAAA, AAAAAAA AAA AAAA AA AAA - AAAAA!?!"
It's easy.. Just tie the phone to your front door and, using a sharpie (permanent ink marker), write "UPDATE" on the screen. Leave for a few hours, and see if it's still there. If it is, is was LOCKED for UPDATE.
Hope that helps!
very fanny

i cant update the tytn
i get error that why i need to know if it lock for update
You are not very descriptive and it was hard to understand what your problem is, that (and the fact that your english is not on high level) lead to such a behavior of some senior members here. Please provide more details if you wish to get some help from others. You should at least tell them:
What is the version of bootloader (SPL) you are using,
What OS you use - which version (WM5, WM6), or version number
What Radio you are using,
And what did you try to upgrade and what was the error, when did it happen and so on.
People here have lots of knowledge of Hermes, but they are not mind-readers. Try to be as descriptive as possible and there is high possibility someone will help you. If you are afraid you can not express what is your problem in english ask some of people here that are from your country to translate your questions to english. Good luck!
.) what kind of error exactly?
.) which rom did you use?
.) did you follow all the steps in this guide exactly? http://www.mrvanx.org/hermes_guide/
What is the version of bootloader (SPL) you are using, =
1.08
What OS you use - which version (WM5, WM6), or version number :1.18.255.106
What Radio you are using,
1.03.03.10
And what did you try to upgrade and what was the error, when did it happen and so on.
it not connect with the mobile it frezze the update
First you should upgrade your bootloader according to this guide:
http://www.mrvanx.org/hermes_guide/HardSPL.html
Then you can try to flash either radio or rom or both - have a look at this guides I mentioned before.
But as english is not your mother tongue I guess its better to find somebody here in the Forums who is speaking your language and ask him/her for help.

If you want to eliminate potential communiaction problems and misunderstanding you can edit your signature to provide details about your device. What you are using will be clearly visible so troubleshooting of any potential problems will be easier. Most important info is: device name (TyTn, Trinity...), OS version/name, Radio version and Bootloader (SPL) version. Good luck flashing!

Probably no one will tell you here because, as I understand it, changing the IMEI is illegal.
If the phone works, why change it. If the IMEI is blocked then the phone is probably stolen... Just return it and buy your own.

I known it's illegal, but I find out when I update my radio to 1.41.00.10 from 1.27, my IMEI number have be modified, I don't known why, so, I will modify the numbers to old numbers, because I have a lot of software are registered by old IMEI number.

Most software registration codes are tied to the "Name" under Settings... Owner Information... Identification... or possibly the "Device ID" under Settings.. System... About... -- not to the IMEI.
I'd check these first before you cause yourself too much heartburn...

I'm betting this guy flashed one of the weird WM6 builds that changed the device id's on a few phones. We saw a lot of problems with TomTom, SlingPlayer, and some other apps because of this.
If the user above flashes back to WM5, or to the absolute latest WM6 builds, it will go back to the 'old' hardware id.
But yeah; I've never seen any software tied to the IMEI. Sometimes I wish it was (I'd be happy if it would tie to the IMSI, personally)...

I'm looking for 7004 ROM update for Samsung Taylor (I received version #7003 only). Anyone can share please?
Unfotunately this device (and my LG Panther ) hasn't the public update or firmware (but microsoft has, i saw). Mb you will be more lucky than me, that will be great!
I believe if someone could make a full backup of Taylor with 7004, we'll be able to use that backup as Zune's "restore" option.
i think the device backups are specific to the device, and not universal like a system dump would be...but i could be wrong.

That's impossible, cuz backups are binded to the specific device id.

Could you tell me, how it's bound? If it's only folder name (GUID name), properties.xml and ActiveID.dat files, we can try to replace Data folder only.
BTW, without real data (he-he, no enthusiasts with 7004 at all!) it's useless conversation
All data encrypted there with AES256. Key seems is inside device. I doubt it's same for all devices of same type. It should be generated from HW info.
Has this been found yet? I'm having the same problem sensboston is.
No questions in the development section Please!
Same rules to all users.

If kies cannot update your phone, first point to verify is the installed csc in Pre-Configuration setting. For kies to upgrade your phone, you need to install a full firmware for your region, and select the correct csc file in Pre-Configuration (after flashing).
Product codes don't change by themselves. So if you never changed yours, maybe it shouldn't have changed by itself. But if it did, then you need to revert it back to it's original.
Caution here, the process involved in changing product is not for noobs, so be careful if you choose to do so.
There are lots of tutorials on product code change in this forum. Just need a patient search to find them.
You can as well read this tutorial from another forum. I hope it helps out.
hi all,
Yes it's possible and it's verry simple, but you need to flash your phone twice.
Here is the solution:
Flash S8500XXJID (the only one capable of changing the product code).
Change your product code #272#HHMM# >>XEF for exemple.
Flash with S8500XXJL2 or other original fw for your region.
Enjoy!
Flash S8500XXJID (the only one capable of changing the product code).

Who told you that?!!!!!
Any 1.2 FW is capable of changing the product code through the pre-config menu
the method that spacks mentioned is for the people who don't want to lose any data through flashing or pre-configuring their phones
Please dig in things more before talking about it
XXJID is not that special
Best Regards

My Gemini PDA is suffering from missing IMEIs, due in no doubt to an issue while I was trying to update my device. At present, I have a pure Android installation, which appears to be operating 100% fine (including WiFi). The only issue is that there are two missing IMEIs, so no telephony.
I sadly do not have a backup of NVRAM, so I am presently dead in the water. I have looked at several MTK IMEI writers, but I cannot get anything to work. Much of the software to manipulate MTK-based devices appears woefully out of date.
Can anyone help? I thank you in advance.

Great news -- I reached out to Planet's support team, and after providing them with a scan of my label (to provide the IMEIs), bluetooth and MAC addresses, they produced an NVRAM file along with detailed flashing instructions.
Kudos to Planet for great support. I have never received this kind of assistance from any other OEM. Needless to say, I immediately signed up at Indiegogo for the Cosmo as a way of saying thanks.

Note that the NVRAM partition is unique to a specific phone, since it includes your IMEI as well as other unique information. I did not try to dissect the file to see how hard it might be to adapt it to another device.
The method on this XDA Thread works fine for me.
