is the att rom even out?! it's not even out on the htc site...so how r u saying the wm6 att rom?
What the hell is goin on here...?
Im so confused.
sorry i want to enable video calling on at&t wm6 rom.
to those in question about wm6 at&t rom it is out unofficially. you want it pm and i will send it to you.
i work for at&t wireless.
Does the 8525 have a camera on front?
@herg62123: do you have anything that isnt yet already released/leaked on this site?
This is a pretty funny thread...
kareem9nba: The AT&T WM6 ROM is available in this forum (and I think actually from AT&T too).
davince: no, the 8525 does not have a front camera, so enabling video calling is not possible.
i have had schaps 3.60a with video so i know there is a way to activate it.
the at&t rom on here is 3.57.502.1.
the rom i have is 3.57.502.3.
mostly the same but minor differences, it is a little more stable than 502.1
Not only does the 8525 lack a front-facing camera for videocalling, AT&T explicitly does not support video calling. Even the new Kaiser/Tilt/8925 is shipping without the front-facing camera.
In essence, if you've got an 8525, there is no way you're doing videocalling...
You can have video calling IF you don't use an AT&T ROM.
but you might lose PTT functionality.
http://wmblack.info/
how about a third parety application that would enable video calling using the rear camera even if att does not support it just for the heck of it!
hat is what i am looking for......video sharing is available in select markets.....this will be usd for that......look at my avaitor......what do you see.......look closely
Yes, true about the ROM and about upcoming capabilitites, but if you have an 8525, you do not have a front camera. Now, if you have bought another device, then that is a different story - TyTn, Dopod, etc...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329585
this is the newest rom from at&t if you want it.
it is 3.61.502.1

I HAVE FULL WM6! NOT BETA! FULL TMOBILE BRANDED WM6 FOR THE DASH!!!
i have good news, and bad news
good: its AMAZING, every issue was solved, i cant get this thing to hang, or find ANY problems, EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET THIS!!!!
bad: it was installed onto my device by HTC, and i have no idea how to get it off, if someone can tell me how to download it so others can use it let me know
very kewl post the rom version radio version ext... that would be great. screenshots would be good too
it LOOKS exactly like the beta, just runs properly, and ALOT faster, and uses less ram, even beter then after removing snapin from the beta version
windows ce 5.2.1236
build 17741.0.2.1
radio version 4.1.13.34_02.79.90
htc messed with your rom? Was it in for service or purchased this way?
why would htc do that?
HTC as a whole dident, i know people, but this person wouldent give me the file, but he did updat my dash
thats cool
did he say if the htc version was ready yet?
i wonder why they are waiting until may 4 if the rom is ready now...
its part of a licence agreement with microsoft, microsoft wont let them release it yet
lol. figures that ms would want to control everything.
maybe it has something to do with live messenger and live update.
can't wait to check it out
Sorry I do not mean to pretend to know more than HTC or the original poster (being sincere here, no sarcasm), but I have an OMAP 2430 with Wm6, with an awful H264 decoder issue that I cant fix. (DSP level error). So unless these guys are using other hardware or DSPs I would expect at least 1 more version... sorry cant say my deadline.

Does that ROM have other languages than US english ?

I guess I'm one of the few who like the t9 option.
I find it makes text messaging and websurfing much faster.

Update/Correction to my earlier post
I apologize the mda will not have an update to wm6 from t-mobile. however dash is all set for upgrade release may 4th. cant wait.
I can't wait neither! Not only is this ROM coming out that day, but I'll be finally done with my finals!
I have a Cingular 8525 and it is unlocked and I use T-Mobile service with it. I see that T-mobile has released the WM6 upgrade...http://home.businesswire.com/portal...d=news_view&newsId=20070502006572&newsLang=en
My question is should I upgrade using the T-mobile version or should i wait and get the cingular version of WM6? Also, is it worth the trouble to upgrade? Im a pretty heavy user of all the features of the phone.
Also, what software would you recommend me using to backup my programs on my phone if i do upgrade?
Thanks in advance,

I would say "Yes" Go ahead and upgrade your phone with that Rom.
Is it worth the trouble; well Tell us the trouble you have after you upgrade to the t-mobile rom.
As for Backup software I would suggest ArcServe 7. Oh wait I think ArcServe has a newer mobile version!
Seriously, you should read the wiki and maybe a few threads before upgrading (or should I say bricking) your phone.

As I understand it, Cingular has a load of bloatware installed - but if you use this stuff then the t-mobile ROM won't include a lot of it and you'll need to install it by cab files. A lot of the cabs are included in some of the xda-dev WM6 ROMS. Using the Cingular ROM should also keep you in warranty if anything goes wrong.
If you're a heavy user of the standard phone functions then either the Cingular or t-mobile ROMS should be ok (but remember to make a note of your wireless/data/mms settings or get the cab file to re-install them - maybe here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_provider_cabs ).
With both of the above ROMS you get the official support through the customer service help lines. This will generally be limited to a twat who knows ****-all about phones except that the one superglued to his ear hurts after a 12 hour shift.
If you want good WM6 ROMS with good support (not always immediate but often quicker than queueing for a helpdesk) then try Black or LSVW. Both are great and most annoyances or problems have been found and already resolved.
As for the backup software, all the stuff I need backed up is already synced with outlook. The actual program files I always re-install after a ROM upgrade - I think this is the safest way. A piece of software which is always mentioned when people ask about backups is SPB backup http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/?en. I can't recommend it because I don't use it, however it seems to be highly regarded.

ROFL
You can't be serious.
Have you read a frickin' thing in your 40+ posts?
Load that Dash ROM on anything, right? ****, put it on your Panasonic wireless 5.8 GHz phone while you're at it.
Gimme some of what you're smokin', dude.
You know that the MDA is a Wizard, and your 8525 is a Hermes, right? You will brick your phone if you don't follow the instructions for a Hermes.
As for bloatware, Black 3.0 is the newest and fastest ROM out there.
t-mo mda is for WM5.0?I
i looked at the "do i need this upgrade?" and it says it's WM5.0. Is anyone sure that this is for WM6.0 and not 5.0? The dash upgrade clearly says 6.0.
Oops, I brick my phone. . . Perhaps not. Was it a wizard or hermes? I don't know. Just gimme a link to some WM6 roms and I will flash them iusing Vista. Probably more than one rom at a time.
p.s. Please don't take this seriously. Enjoy!
It was announced

That T-Mo was releasing WM 6.0 for the MDA. Can you get into the OS.NB file and check the build dates?
Otherwise, look up Faria's Wizard ROM and unlock your phone. I used Faria's on my K-Jam before I switched to a TyTN.
Now that some time has passed, and Crossbow has gained a bit of ground, as well as some reviews and testers, based on your experiences, would you recommend Crossbow to the general public?
Also, a personal question, if I would like to use Messenger to share files as well, and a faster device, would you recommend crossbow to me?
Thanx in advance for your responses!
Crossbow on Universal is highly recommended.
At least, I can't see any reason to NOT recommend it over WM5.
Stable, fast, better features. Give it a go!
V
But there is no working video call in WM6 yet.
This can be solved, but unfortunately no developers have 3G in their area to test it
I have 3G here, I can test, but no software to test.
WM6 on the Universal? I wouldn't recommend it (yet). Most ROMs have a buggy wifi, email (resolved on some), mms (resolved on some), etc.
And as mentioned, no video call.
But if you don't need video call and wifi... Go ahead with Crossbow. You might wanna try Midget's or Ivan's latest.
Everything is working fine on crossbow, but, IMHO, the only glitch is the issues with WIFI like you cannot connect to wpa networks
Second issue is buggy video call
general impression positive. Things that I'm missing:
-wifi (wpa)
-phone keypad (still would like to be able text with one hand from time to time).
however I don't miss it much enough to get my previous ROM (not yet anyway).
I believe this are only temporary problems. Big thanks for such a good work.
I don't recommend it!
-First of all: NO VIDEO CALL.
-WIFI problem!!!!
-Quick rings FREEZE your phone.
-Outlook problems
So this week-end i'll downgrade to WM5..
WM6 it's VERY powerfull.. But we don't have a REAL working Universal ROM.
..That's a shame..

Everytime I install a new WM6 rom, then, after 0.5h playing with it, I m always back to my trusty WM5's ROM(see my sig)
i have the videocall option for 2 years on my contract.
since then i have 5-6 hours of free videocall that i never used because most people don't have videocall, and because it is much easier to speak on a BT handsfree than to keep the 300g monster in my hand, pointed to my face while walking on the street.
so, i don't realy understand the need of videocall.
but i need wifi very much.
now i am using the original ROM that camed with my spv m5000.
should i upgrade to a newer WM5, or should i stay with the original one untill the release of a WM6 with wifi support?

HELP
how to get back to wm 5 from wm 6
Hi all,
In Ausdim's latest WM6 ROM I found a very nice dialer with (3G) Video Call support.
There's a screenshot below.
The new official Dopod WM6 ROM still has the "old" ugly green dialer and the HTC Touch dialpad doesn't support video dialing (there's no button).
So is it possible to get ausdim's dialer with video support on the new dopod rom?
Typical...
Off course after searching for about an hour I thought: ok, then I'll open a new thread to ask for the dialer and 2 minutes later I found this:
http://www.zombienexus.net/portal/
I guess this is what I was looking for...
Why bother with a 3g dial pad when wm6 on the Trinity does NOT offer video calling... :/

And why again does the Trinity have 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) support and a camera on the front?
Do you guys think spending 1MB plus on a dialer skin is worth it? I'm contemplating replacing mine.. the WM6 for HTC P3600 is pretty ugly..
Customize
Yeah anythings got to be better than the standard dialer, I use JPLDialer_WaveIII.cab that's 2 MEG but compliments the vista business skin on Modaco. I'd pay for an app that created custom phone dialer skins.

Trinity DOES offer video calling if you have a 3G SIM. You obviously only have a standard GSM SIM card.

Sorry for the noob question but I'm new to the Rhodium. I need to flash a bunch of AT&T Tilt 2s with winmo 6.1. I looked at the wiki and I don't see a 6.1 rom for AT&T. Does anyone have any experience with the WWE HTC 6.1 roms for Rhodium on the Tilt 2? I'm concerned there might be locale issues and so on.
I won't have access to a test device until the day I need to get this done, hence why I need some advice
I think this is the one.
http://shipped-roms.com/download.php?category=windows%20mobile&model=Rhodium&file=HTCTilt2ATTOriginalShipROM.exe
Got it from here:
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=windows%20mobile&model=Rhodium
How can I tell if that's 6.1 without flashing though?
Sent from my SPH-P100 using XDA App
Everything I've found online indicates that AT&T shipped the Tilt 2 with 6.5 from day one. Therefore, linking me to the shipped rom from AT&T isn't much help :\
I still need to know if the WWE roms from HTC will work reasonably well, I need this for work purposes and I can't ship phones out to people unless I know they're not going to have a Euro keymap or something!
That's correct, Tilt2 never had a WM6.1 official ROM. It was released with 6.5.
If you flash the WWE, it will have the keymap for the Euro version. The ATT keyboard layout is unique, since they changed where the number keys are, versus the layout for every other version of the TP2.
This CAB will configure the keyboard properly on just about any ROM:

And click the "Thanks" button on my post, please!
Out of curiosity, where did you find the stock 6.1 ROM that you flashed on your Tilt2s? I've always wanted to put 6.1 on my Tilt2, but never got around to it. A link to what you used (besides the HardwareKeyboard cab) would be much appreciated.
EDIT:
I believe I found where one is found via a previous post above. (I thanked it by the way.) I'm currently downloading: RUU_Rhodium_HTC_Europe_1.19.401.0_Radio_Rhodium_3.44.25.27_Signed_Ship.exee and going to flash it in a while.
