Hello,
thanks a lot to all of you for the nice job you've been doing! I'm living in Japan and using a SB x01ht that was bought just after launching around october 2006. I'm still using the original version with bootloader 1.06, the only thing I installed was Asukal's english MUI. I haven't upgraded to the new extrom but now I need to have access to data communication. Can you tell me how can I do without simlocking my phone?
Tks and cheers,
Greengaijin
changing rom dont simlock phones
okay rudegar. tks for the reply!
Hey Rudegar,
sorry but I'm a bit confused after reading Pof's FAQ regarding his unlocker for Hermes phones...
"Q: Will this work on Post April (white) SoftBank X01HT phones?
Yes if you have not let the SoftBank ExtROM install, otherwise your radio bootloader has been upgraded to 0182 and it is not possible to flash a radio or remove the SIMLock."
How come the ExtRom can lock the phone in the above situation?
Tks again,
Euler

I have an XDAII and am with O2 and wish to change to Orange.
I was going to buy an XDAIIs from Orange but reading about the problems I think I will stick with what I have.
Having read most of the posts, version numbers are spinning around in my head and I am thoroughly confused !
I have:
ROM version 1.60.00WWE
ROM date 12/03/03
Radio Version 1.10.00
Protocol Version 1337.18
ExtROM version 1.60.50
Will the latest unlock program work ok for me ?
Would it be better if I updated to the latest ROM first ?
Can I continue to used my O2 SIM card once I have unlocked whilst I wait for my Orange SIM card to turn up ?
Are there any issues with using the XDAII with Orange ? Does anything which worked with O2 suddenly not work anymore with Orange ?
Can I use a Pay-as-you-Go SIM card with my XDAII and (providing I have GPRS bolt on etc) does everything still work the same ?
Cheers and many thanks to W4XY for all his obvious hard work
If you are thinking of upgrading your ROM, why not just reflash it with Orange configurations and save messing about! Just check the country code before you flash and all should work perfectly. If you are in the UK, there is a customised version of the Ext ROM for 2003SE here:

Hi Fin
I am in the UK
Are you saying I don't have to unlock it if I do this then ?
i think you should go for a normal unlock procedure and after the procedure is complete your pda is unlocked and everything remains the same only change is that you can use any sim other that o2 after unlock.
for unlocking of xdaII follow this link

Hello!
Ok, let´s see if I can explain this. I have an Qtek s100. Locked to an operator in Sweden. I need to unlock it but I have searched this site and I don´t find anything that fits this phone. It seems my radio version is old or something. I know how to bootload my phone but has no idea what to do there and how to unlock anything there.
Please explain to me as I am 2 years old .
How do I unlock this phone myself, beacuse I don´t have any money now to do it online.
My qtek s100:
ROM version 1.06.00 WWE
ROM date: 01/06/05
Radio version 1.05.00
Protocol version 1337.39
ExtROM version 1.06.116 WWE
Thanks
Björn
Until now there is no solution for free to unlock the phone. But i would say, a person who can buy such a device would have some cents to unlock it.....
I think one of the cheapest and fastest way is

Hey Stefan!
This site requires a photo id sent to them and I have no idea how to do that. Why is it that this phone is so hard to unlock?
Thanks

Dear All, my name is Carlo from Rome, Italy.
I just got an O2 XDA II (O2 UK version i think) second hand off a local italian forum member (www.telefonino.net).
Cool unit I already love it !!! ;-)
I currently have:
ROM VERSION 1.60.00WW
ROM date: 12/03/03
Radio version: 1.10.00
Protocol version: 1337.18
ExtROM version: 1.60.50
I live in Italy where we do not have O2 carrier.
Right now i can use this unit with my italian carrier TIM (Telecom italia). No problem !!!
It works ok with both phone calls and GPRS connections (just finishind doing tests).
Now...
My question is...
I'd like to upgrade this O2 XDA II to a newer version of OS such as:
1.72.187 (for permanent GPRS connection and voice calls at the same time right???)
.. or 1.72.181 (for testing Blackberry connectivity which i think it will never work due to carrier restrictions in Italy).
.. what would happend?? Would my unit become locked again to O2 carrier ???
Or ..?? What are other possible problems ??
Which version would you reccomend among the above two ??
I need a link to download version 1.72.187. Cannot find it anymore on to www.sourceo2.com.
Before doing anything stupid i ask you since you all seem to be quite aware of the necessary steps involved with the upgrade/downgrade of O2 XDAs.
I don't know the history of my unit.. i do not know if it was locked to O2 UK or not... no idea... as i said i got it second hand.
I have also already downloaded the unlock tools just in case i need them in the future.
Thanks in advance for your kind help.

changing rom dont lock the phone
Hi,
ive got a Vodafone VPx, that i have had for about a year now, and it has recently started crashing and doing a full reset when its not in its cradle. has anyone else had the same problem? would flashing the rom help? how about updating it to WM2005? i was going to update it but im not too sure its compatible with this BA, does anyone know if it is?
cheers

Warranty?
If it's under a year then you might consider contacting Vodafone for warranty support. There is a chance that flashing it will help, but do you have a copy of the original ROM? How about starting with a hard reset and see if that helps?
If you flash with a different ROM and then contact Vodafone you will find that the classic rule applies: tampering by unauthorised personnel invalidates manufacturers warranty!
Hope this helps!
Cheeky question...
Noticed in your signature that you have a Vodafone v1620... I don't suppose you could provide details of your ROM/Radio versions etc, and if possible upload your Ext ROM to the kitchen?
I have an O2 XDA IIs and intend to rebrand it to vodafone over the weekend as I use a Vodafone SIM
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
BA Batteries (mostly cheap ones that come from china) have been know to hard reset the device with out the owner wanting it to happen (I know I had one).
So you might have a battery fault.
Thanks MDAIIIUser - that explains the occasional reboots that I experience!
ROM version: 1.40.00 WWE
ROM date: 03/10/05
Radio version: 1.13.00
Protocol version: 1337.42
ExtROM version: 1.40.238 WWE
Soon as I can read up on wiki how to dump the ExtROM I will do so.
Ooops, blew up after I installed the unlocker. After a painful rebuild I regret that I have no desire to repeat the experience. Sorry

I think but am not entirely sure that my phone is NOT CDMA. Any help here greatly appreciated.
I would like to remove all of the TMobile crap including that awful web n walk do i need to do a rom upgrade to get rid of this.
Do i need hard spl (unsigned) in order to flash this device as its protected.
Unlocking protection allows any roms/upgrades?
Unlocking to allow any sim is different to the above?
I have been to the tmobile website they do not have this rom avaialble and i have not seen it on your site, if i upgrade am i able to restore somehow?
Will i be able to put on tomtom 6?
Many thanks for your help in advance.
Kind Regards
Peter
See this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410455. Maybe you will have problems because this is DIAM200 platform, but all DIAM100 things should work
.
That link has allowed me to understand that all the purpose of the hard spl is just so that you can actually flash the mda. I guess it doesnt matter at all what version you use of the hard-spl as its the job it does and not a better version. Just need the answres the the rest of the questions - thanks for your help mate. If there are more like you my little baby will be running without tmob in no time
Completed HARD SPL
I have managed to get on 1.40 olinex - thanks to whoever you are. I have the radio i want so i shall be able to do that stage np's. I guess ill have to look for roms.
