Hello everyone!
Would love to get your thoughts of what do we expect to get in BB4.2?
What HTC's or 3rdParty's major features are left uncovered in BB41?
Or this will be just a more stable\faster\bugs-free release?
Thanks,
Andrey
ye,
i hope the small things like battery status, traylaunch, the blackbar etc are fixed in the next version.
i think we can expect SDHC implemented on the new rom, seems to work actually the htc-files from the eten forum.
and finally i hope we can expect a german B&B 4.xxx ROM in the next weeks.
last,but not least..

Why make a new post, when there already is a thread?

Better also read this while your busy and dont expect too soon there will be a new Rom from Tom. I personally hope he does though!

I am a newbie here, just joint the community not too long ago. However noted that all the good cooks went missing? Previously, every month there be a number of new roms being released? However, lately not much of new roms being released? Where have all the good cook went? Will here be a 'ghost' town especially with the forthcoming Kaiser?
Just my 2 cents of opinion?

Oooh, you'll catch hell for that one...
I think with WM6 being released, it has taken the punch out of some of the cooks fun\obsession. Also there has been several good kitchens released that allow for just about anybody to cook their own rom just how they want it. Check out the Pandora thread it's great!
I hope they reappear for the Kaiser.

Pff...What the hell are you doing here on this forum, if you think most of us dont live a normal life, like we are all nerds or people with no life.. because most of us like to modify our phone..
Look in the miror, you will see the person with no life..
Bro Bram87,
Please don't start flamming over here.... just a discussion wil do. Everyone here loves their Hermes!
waiting for wm7...
The real reason is that the production WM6 release is very stable & fast
Some cooks are still here... We still have some Betas... That means LIFE
Err i think the cooks are here, its just all the roms out there dont really need any improvement now?
if you try a few of the latest ones, you will see you'll have very little rom related issues, so no need, to cook, and improve the roms!
fil,
Yes I do agree, the current batch of roms are very stable and fast. But however, I do find that a cook is always a cook, whereby the perfection will never take place, always challenging till the end!
my 2 cents of opinion...

Pardon me?
I'll agree with the others... it's getting pretty difficult to improve on the Hermes ROM at this point. Working on it, though.
Aside from the facts that there are some excellent chefs still in the hermes kitchen, that the roms are probably near completition for WM6 etc - I think what drove a lot of the cooks away was a combination of the constant flaming that seems to go on in the Hermes forums - I typically find most of it pretty funny but reading through some of the other forums I am always surprised how there is nowhere near as much flaming going on. That and I think they got sick of people complaining there rom broke this or that when it was something stupid the person did and didn't follow the instructions or do a simple search for the solution. I could easily see how that could put somebody off of releasing to the public something they worked so hard to make.
Regardless of all that, there are some great chefs about - VP3g, Schapps, Duttythroy, Dutty (I think still puts out roms), JasJamming (though he doesn't realse them here any more - somebody usually post a link when he does). If I forgot to mention you or butchered the spelling of your name - sorry - not intentional
I think the cooks on here are doing an excellent job! the problem is Microsoft now is starting to do some sh** right and making a fast rom for our phone. I've tried every rom on xda that I could find at least once to test them. It's just getting harder for the cooks to cook better roms when they are working with the software that is released and taking their time to help us.
Just remember its like the military the stuff they've have for 10 years is just new to citizens. its kinda similar with wm6 just give em time and until then enjoy the awesome roms that we have!!!!
.... or you could build your own if your that risky.
Hi all, hi Schap
anyone knows if a new WWE version will be released soon by Schap? We are stucked with the 3.60a..
Here's your answer posted on September 6th:

Hi guys, sorry if I didn't give any news those last days, but I have personal problems and no time to care of ROMs. But I'm not giving up, I just need a break, then I hope to come back soon with new ROMs!
I saw that many new cooked ROMs were released during my absence and some based on my work, which is a good thing and I don't think I'm really needed at this time. Even if I didn't encounter major issues, from what I hear the new build seems to bring nothing good but only problems, so I don't know if I will continue on this way...

Here's to WMXL and Schaps!
Hi guys im currently using the Athena @ the moment and no much choice in ROMS ive just upgraded the contract for my misses and got a o2 xda orbit will be running with Vodaphone Sim and a 1GB mico SD its a great phone and theres an amazing amount of ROMS on here she isnt as technically minded as me and i want a Rom thats Cool, functional and with a simple interface she's by no means stupid as uses mine every now and then but dont want a Rom thats buggy etc Any one advise a good simple stable Rom to use I Know its a personal choice but i would appreciate some advice... Thanks Guys
It's all a matter of preference as they are all good, except the official O2 ROM. Meschle's look the nicest and have some really good toys especially his new Vanilla (with cherry) release, but I personally prefer Tom Codon's Black and Blue series.
I'd would wait for his 4.2 release, but if you can't wait, then 4.0 is great. I tried 4.1, but the infamous 'storage card' bug did put me off a little. I try most of the ROM's, but I am getting counseling for this addiction.
thank you for the advice the touch and black and blue roms took my fancy so will probably try one of these... Thanks again

Mate having gone through pages on pages I can only see cherry referred to in POLL but it is closed, Please help
am I blind
or just mad
In this case 'cherry' means that Meschle took the original WM6 OEM rom, made by Microsoft and --instead of adding a lot of fancy and sophisticated progs-- just added the fresh versions of some really useful utilities (as he put it in the first post of the related thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332531 See the bullet points!)
So, it's a quite simple rom, but enhanced with his cherry picking amongst the wide variety of apps that make the usage of our Artemis easier and more effective.
At least I see this way... (I'm far from being an expert).
The official HTC Europe WM6 rom has just been released (see a lot of fresh thread abuot it).
So, if you are cautious (I am), I suggest you to flash your Orbit with this rom. It must be stable and more or less bug-free (but certainly there is no guarantee...)
And later you can switch to a cooked one, if you wish so.
But be aware: first you should run USPL! See thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403

Thanks for the heads up!
Wow, wonder if the UI will be the same as the one shown on Gizmodo?
interesting news...the sooner the better! maybe we can get hold of a beta before then...
I hope it would be made available to existing WM6 devices. I'm very happy with what I have setup on my JASJAM at present. But it is always nice to have something new to play with. That makes me feel the phone is still very new.
i would like it to be more stable and fast...
Hope they improve the touch interface ( like in uiq handsets)
and bring in better phone functionality as well
good to see you posting bro

hope you have a new hermes cooked rom with newest build and that would be scary to think we could get our hands on a beta ?????
i thought that interface was just for smartphone users?
the way the interface looks it seems to go against the idea of a touch screen imho...

Hey Guys,
I haven't been here in a while, and I havent had my TyTn in a while either (lent it to a friend for almost a year...i know, im such a good friend) Well I got it back and I want to upgrade the ROM to something new/cool/fast.
What would you recommend? Which ROM and by whom?
Thanks guys, I was glad to see that XDA developers is still here
welcome back...a lot has been cooked up in the last year! for starters check out these great chefs WM6.1 threads/posts for details: abusalza, dvh, crc, joshkoss, and there are others...
try more than one...happy flashing
hmm such old question, you must have patience of a saint!
They've come a long way, and you'll be hard pressed to go wrong with any of the following:
CRCinAU's version 13 stable: I've been running this for the last 6 weeks, and never had a need to move off of it. CRC's AutoUpdate application is awesome for trying new features.
Abusalza's PDACorner releases... Really fast, I ran V20 for a long time after MRV left the Hermes forum for a newer device.
Joshkoss's Haloween release... I love this thing. It's amazingly fast, simple and has all the primary features I need. (google maps, opera that's fast, Youtube, MSOffice, and all the config tools to make it work well)
I've finally started trying the NRBS releases instead of the Normal ones. What a performance improvement.
Go read the wiki some, to understand the new jargon and instructions, and then start with any of these guys work and you won't be disappointed.
Happy flashing

LOL, So true...I was very close to the edge on this one
I think all above posted ROMs are great.
As a Tipp: Wait vor the V11 Final af joskoss, this will be great and amzingly fast
Another Tipp: Manila ROMs looks great but doesnt fit really into the system features of the Hermes device
thanks for the replies!!!!
Does anyone suggest a ROM over any other that has a combination of speed and features??

the thing is mate, what works for might not work for you, the only way is to try! Check people's signature on what they use and have a play. Just remember this! as we don't know what you do behind your doors! or outside for that matter!

thanks for the reply! you are right... there are so many variations i am asking a very ambiguous question...i guess what i was asking if there was one ROM that stood out among others as "the best rom" hands down...
I'm flashing right now with "HTC_HERMES_S64_WM_6.1_TouchFlo2D_UC_ WWE v3 / GER v1 "
it looks promising!!
thanks again everyone for the help!!!

Nope there is no such a thing, they are all great in their own right at the end of the day, you decide what ROM to use for YOUR use.
