Windows Mobile 6.1 in February - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

http://www.wmexperts.com/articles/rumors/windows_mobile_61_coming_with.html#comments

Thanks for the heads up!
Wow, wonder if the UI will be the same as the one shown on Gizmodo?

interesting news...the sooner the better! maybe we can get hold of a beta before then...

I hope it would be made available to existing WM6 devices. I'm very happy with what I have setup on my JASJAM at present. But it is always nice to have something new to play with. That makes me feel the phone is still very new.

i would like it to be more stable and fast...
Hope they improve the touch interface ( like in uiq handsets)
and bring in better phone functionality as well

good to see you posting bro

hope you have a new hermes cooked rom with newest build and that would be scary to think we could get our hands on a beta ?????

i thought that interface was just for smartphone users?
the way the interface looks it seems to go against the idea of a touch screen imho...

what about Artemis Touch 4.01 WM6.1 meschle !!

hello
what about Artemis Touch 4.01 WM6.1 ??
When will we see the Artemis Touch 4.01 WM6.1 ??
thank you
ahmed
if it going to be as good as 3.1 it'll be greatttttttttttttttt. 3.1 is the most stable rom i've had on my phone
I agree with garymeg, very stable and great features. Hope to see WM6.1 version soon, mainly for the join domain part. That will be nice for the wifi at work, using network shares etc. threaded sms is already included in cmpocket, so that's not really new. Is there an official HTC release of WM6.1 for Artemis? I can only find WM6 from official htc sites.
In the Vanilla thread he said he's working on it. It's done when it's done, please be patient.
I installed allmost the same programs in vanilla 4.01 as in Touch 3.01; works like a charm until Touch 4.01 is released....
All being well be out the coming week - mid hopefully
That's good news, thank you
Looking forward to it!
wooooooow meschle thank you That's good iam waiting your good jop

I'll go for full as if I install all the apps I want on the light I may end up with the same storage size.
Anyway I'll try both, but definitaly without cube. I never use it anyway.
looking forward too
Thank you, my dear friend, I love you Excellent work man
yes, just ordered a 8GB micro SD card.
+ new ROM, then my Artemis will shine in new glance
Meschle, thanks for all the great work on these roms. I have had all your roms on my o2 orbit over the last year.
I have now upgraded to the orbit 2. Are you planning to upgrade soon? I ask this because the cookery on this forum, espescially you and tom, is far better than that on the polaris forum.
Hopefully you will be joining us soon?
btw loved my artemis, but the polaris (orbit 2) is in a different league!!

What ROM????

Hey Guys,
I haven't been here in a while, and I havent had my TyTn in a while either (lent it to a friend for almost a year...i know, im such a good friend) Well I got it back and I want to upgrade the ROM to something new/cool/fast.
What would you recommend? Which ROM and by whom?
Thanks guys, I was glad to see that XDA developers is still here
welcome back...a lot has been cooked up in the last year! for starters check out these great chefs WM6.1 threads/posts for details: abusalza, dvh, crc, joshkoss, and there are others...
try more than one...happy flashing
hmm such old question, you must have patience of a saint!
They've come a long way, and you'll be hard pressed to go wrong with any of the following:
CRCinAU's version 13 stable: I've been running this for the last 6 weeks, and never had a need to move off of it. CRC's AutoUpdate application is awesome for trying new features.
Abusalza's PDACorner releases... Really fast, I ran V20 for a long time after MRV left the Hermes forum for a newer device.
Joshkoss's Haloween release... I love this thing. It's amazingly fast, simple and has all the primary features I need. (google maps, opera that's fast, Youtube, MSOffice, and all the config tools to make it work well)
I've finally started trying the NRBS releases instead of the Normal ones. What a performance improvement.
Go read the wiki some, to understand the new jargon and instructions, and then start with any of these guys work and you won't be disappointed.
Happy flashing

LOL, So true...I was very close to the edge on this one
I think all above posted ROMs are great.
As a Tipp: Wait vor the V11 Final af joskoss, this will be great and amzingly fast
Another Tipp: Manila ROMs looks great but doesnt fit really into the system features of the Hermes device
thanks for the replies!!!!
Does anyone suggest a ROM over any other that has a combination of speed and features??

the thing is mate, what works for might not work for you, the only way is to try! Check people's signature on what they use and have a play. Just remember this! as we don't know what you do behind your doors! or outside for that matter!

thanks for the reply! you are right... there are so many variations i am asking a very ambiguous question...i guess what i was asking if there was one ROM that stood out among others as "the best rom" hands down...
I'm flashing right now with "HTC_HERMES_S64_WM_6.1_TouchFlo2D_UC_ WWE v3 / GER v1 "
it looks promising!!
thanks again everyone for the help!!!

Nope there is no such a thing, they are all great in their own right at the end of the day, you decide what ROM to use for YOUR use.

rom?

is it possible to use other roms for like per say the touch pro or fuze on hermes
Short answer: No
They are designed for different hardware. Now, if you were to dump and rebuild. it can/has been done.
Why not try one of the roms here? Or even try cooking one of your own to fit your needs?
simply because i have no idea how to do that i was trying to get a wm 6.5 build 21193 for my hermes but i couldnt find one i liked
Josh will probably have 21193 soon...so, be cool & check out his latest in the mean time
lol good job galaxys he came out with one today!

I've tired so many rom, and i use the stock. i can't imagine, why use anybody cooked rom on tp2.
when i had an X1 i never use the stock rom, because most of the cooked rom was fast and don't eats 60-75% of the memory. but all of the cooked rhodium rom does, and slowing my phone after half our.
i read all the time the posts, what the users or cheef wrote about a rom: fast and lite and slight and smooth, and best. and it is'nt. it's bugy and slow and annoying.
so i use the stock and can'wait what can the HTC doing with wm6.5 and new (?) manila 2.1. it'll eating memory and slowing the tp2 too? i don't belive that. maybe i'm naive. then i'll flash back my old never-falling WM6.1 stock rom.
regards A.

Warranty can be applied as long as you return to original ROM before you send it to repair! so not really a void warranty
I reflashed to a cooked ROM the same day I receive my TP2 and I´m so happy!

Shame to hear your experience.
Here is complete opposite case, official ROM is so heavy and full of crap...
The wait is killing me, I want a cooked rom on my CDMA device....
and you know what else is killing me, the new network coming out on telus, and my phone that won't do 21 Mbps I might have to part ways, I hope something just as good is coming up.

Oh ok then. Thanks for that. Maybe i'll go ahead and stick a rom on this weekend but I just read that the official roms coming from HTC later in the month will have the 6.5 update and also the new HTC Sense.

When that appears to be true, I'm eagerly awaiting this update from HTC. But, in all honesty, I intend to not believe that HTC is upgrading WM as well as TF3D to HTC sense. We'll see. Would be great though!!
Edit: BTW where did you read this?
sorry double post...dunno how to delete
may b they will..they have no better alternatives coming for TP2...its only 1 with HW keyboard, and there are no announcments on TP3..which i wonder will b wm7 phone..mean while old hardware on TP2 can do the tricks on sense and keep business users happy for a while

so will it be October or November?? haa!
Bah, can't wait that long! I've flashed mine yesterday with one of the ROMs from here and it works great

when?

wow when some one is coming out with a new rom im getting so bored of 3vo please some is there a new update
Well, 3VO ROM is good, but I cannot use GPRS completely (Google Map, Windows Live Mess, other IM softwares doesn't work). Bluetooth suck, cannot send anything. I've been using ROSE ROM 1.7 remade, (WM 6.1) but really nice. GPRS ok, bluetooth ok. Try that!
i had it before its good but i think that the dash has potential is just the developers are not caring any more about it so i think i might go back to 1.7 from ricky and NRG
there are other 6.5 roms, have you tried them?

you seem to forget that the dash is a 4 year old phone and is not that easy for chefs to come up with new roms. A lot of new roms need much more ram and a faster processor and the dash just can't provide that. be sure when someone does, it will be available, so instead of being upset, be happy of the variety you got.
or just get a new phone like i did, i loved my dash, but i wanted something better.

To which is the reason production on ROMs has slowed down, most chefs have new devices as we all like a faster CPU, more RAM & Storage and a new GUI to play with
