So many ROMS, so little time! Sleuth's v3.0 Developer ROM is here

If you're a ROM flashing addict, nows a good time to own a Hermes!
This ROM has been completely re-worked and is now based on the official imgfs. It reports itself as follows:

v3.2 (available now!) contains the following fixes:
The v3.1 patch
The Aku portion of the CE build number now displays correctly
All Softkey cpanel applet issues identified in the release notes have been corrected
Audio Manager v1.02 build 614.712 refresh fixes the "only plays one song in standby mode" issue. This is the official build information reported by the so-called Audio Manager 1.2 update btw.
Initflashfiles no longer copies information from \windows to \program files\<app dir> for Sipchange, GSFinder+, Taskmgr and Fieldtest. This increases storage memory by about 1 meg.
Notes:
if you restore from backup after upgrading to this version, the developer utilites will be restored back to \program files and storage memory will be decreased to your original amount. To prevent this, exclude the app directories "green software", "sipchange", "taskmgr" and "fieldtest" as well as the applications' associated shortcuts in \windows\start menu\programs from the restore. Also exclude the sipchange shortcut from \windows\startup.
There will not be a v3.2 Crackberry edition. Sorry.
v3.1 includes target.img.zip which corrects the Intent Java midlet manager issue identified in the release notes

Free storage memory is about 47MB and free program memory is 31MB. Displayed Today screen items have been reduced and re-ordered in this manner (note: the additional plugins are still present, just unchecked in Today settings):

As always, the installer will upgrade your splash screens to the Gold HTC Innovation theme. Your Radio, IPL and SPL will remain unchanged. However, for best results I recommend running a radio that's at least 1.40.
I'm using OliPro's latest RUU installer in this version and recommend installing using the SSPL option. Vista users: be sure to check out this guide for how to make SSPL installers work on your version of Windows. Or, jcespi2005 reports that with the latest WMDC (v6.1), you can upgrade through CustomRUU normally like in XP. WMDC 6.1 itself can be found here.

The softkey editor settings are initially out of sync with the actual softkeys. Additionally, you must SR after the first time you use it to get your changes to stick. After that, the program works normally. This is a HTC bug unfortunately in softkeyapplet.cpl
Because the base imgfs has been changed back to hermes from its previous Universal base, this ROM will also change your device ID if you are upgrading from previous Sleuth ROMs. The device ID will become identical to the official Hermes ROM device ID.
Howto: Speed up CommManager and free up storage memory.
Use PHMRegedit to search for the value "DisableButtonText". Change this value from a 2 to a 0. Reset your Hermes by pressing and holding the power button then answering yes to the dialog that is eventually displayed. The downside is that you disable the "eye candy" block-style interface too.
If Midlet Manager displays the following message: "Cannot run target.img" then copy the attached target.img.zip to /windows on your hermes to resolve. If you need this fix cooked in, then follow these instructions:
deactivate direct push & your data connection if you run Direct Push
Take a full backup with your favorite backup software.
Download v3.2 from the above rapidshare link & install.
Restore from backup.
If pressing the "Calendar", "New SMS" or "New MMS" softkey displays a not found message then download and install the attached calendarfix.cab to correct. Make sure you choose "Install to Device" if asked.
This rom is based on the DoPod release. Because of this, vp3g's ptt cab will not enable PTT on AT&T networks.

Car Kit Profile
Sleuth, does this ROM also include the updated car kit profile your V2/2.1 ROM had?

I tried to activate the ext. rom in v2.1, but didn't succeed. I did read a lot and tried different rom kitchens but no way I could activate the ext. rom.
Could someone please recook this rom, with activated ext. rom?
I would like to have this, so I can use my RemoteProtect software in a more secure way. After a hardreset everything will be re-installed.

The same HEX editing should be applicable to this release.

Why do you put the Cyberon Dialer? That is one of things I hated about the stock firmware. I am a noob when it comes to build my own firmware package - I actually I never tried and currently don't know how. I would like to use yours if it didn't have the cyberon dialer. Maybe in the future you could have 2 versions one with the dialer and one without?

Primary reason: not licensed with the DoPod base. You have to buy M$ VC software to use it. Including it in a ROM whose base didn't originally contain it would therefore be piracy. Also, the current M$ voice command needs hacks to (almost) properly work with BT headsets.
Cyberon is the licensed voice activated contact dialer & gives you full BT enabled dial functionality.

SSPL avoids the following potential issues:
no hardspl installed
Installer can't autodetect oliPro bootloader version
"I don't know how to boot to tri-color"
various other n00b issues

intent midlet manager
im not sure but when i run my intent java in this rom, i get the error message "cannot run target.img.zip" ,i installed a cab of intent java and problem was solved, but the cabe eats up around 5mb ongmy storage

Don't let this hold you back Sleuth did an excellent job - install the ROM and simply add VC cab file with VC WM6 fix cab. But honestly untill M$ will fix their BT brainfart many peope actually prefer Cyberon products.

yes sure you can flash this one over Schap's but to avoid hard-reset -as the DR. said- flash a stock ROM before and then flash this one.

wait a few minutes then comes an new version that corrects a missing link to opera and java in the start menu
It comes also an Version without opera and a lite version

thanks so far for this first german WM6.1 rom.
But i have one big problem. This rom is the first one where i can´t receive any data over bluetooth connection. I want to transfer my contacts from a nokia 6600 to my xda trion. I can establish a connection but when i send the contacts to the trion i will get a sending failure. Same with a bluetooth stick plugged into the computer. I also set the hook in the file transfer option, so that the trion should receive any incoming data automaticly, but the problem still exists. With other roms i never had this problem.
Maybe you have an answer for this problem, because i would be very unhappy to switch back to another rom. Yours is slim, fast and stable and thats all i need ;-)

It was not an effort at all so I decided to make four versions of the ROM: Full and Stock with Digital and Analogue Manila 2D.
The Stock versions are pretty much like the stock JADE ROM and will be shot in the dark because I don't have the time to test them. I will gladly receive feedback for them.
The RAM consumption is quite high, but this is because Task Facade and FTouchFlo are running while taking the screenshots. They can be turned of easily.
By default FTouchFlo is not included in the StartUp folder. It can be activate in [Start Menu]->[Settings]->[Settings]-[FTouchFlo].
If you want to disable Task Facade just go to the Windows\StartUp folder and delete the shortcut.
Any comments and recommendations are welcome.

Known bugs:
Issue: TaskFacade is causing serious memory leaks after a certain amount of time
Solution: Soft reset as a temporary fix. Remove the TaskFacade.lnk shortcut from Windows/StartUp folder and the button mapping from [Start]->[Settings]->[Personal]->[Buttons] for a permanent solution.
Issue: WiFi settings are not working
Solution: None. Unfortunately this cannot be repaired
Issue: Voice Recorder is not working
Solution: None. Unfortunately this cannot be repaired

Patch: DisableAutoTimeZone.cab will remove the automatic time and location synchronisation with the operator network (for those who experience problems with this)

I thought of making vanilla ROM ... but I couldn't decide what packages to include.
I can make it barebone ... I don't know ... including HTC Home would require changing all the Jade styled packages ... let me think about it.

I've built in the ROM a feature that sets the time and the location automatically from the operator network settings. Persistant location change after soft reset cannot be caused by any other thing.
I'll upload a patch in POST#3 disabling this feature.

Mass storage wont work fully using WM5torage. CAB files can't be transferred, only few types of files being able to. It say's the disk is write-protected, any idea?

I don't use wm5torage although it should be working.
There is nothing write protected in the ROM. Maybe you should try disabling "Enable advanced network functionality" from [Settings]->[Settings]->[USB to PC]. Maybe this will help.

QuickGPS not working!
Hi all,
I must say that this is really a fantastic ROM! For me, one of the best (or maybe the best) for our Trinitys!
But for me there's an important issue... QuickGPS doesn't work
(I have used this on other ROM's; This is the REAL Working QuickGPS posted in XDA)
Get 2 types of errors:
Opening ERROR: The file 'QuickGPS cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or none of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
Notification ERROR: Cannot execute \Windows\QuickGPS.exe
Can someone help?

Lothinator's Clean 6.5 Vogue Rom V1.0 (build 21501) (Sprint)

EDIT!!: : This ROM is gone, removed the info about it since none of it applies anyway anymore, as the files have been lost and I no longer have a Vogue. Sorry for not updating this before guys.

Found first bug...
Titanium weather - I've been having hell with this plugin, sometimes it shows icons, sometimes it doesn't. It worked in my preliminary builds, but not in this build ....
So in the spirit of a CLEAN ROM, I will simply remove it in the next update so the latest version can be installed if wanted. (updated now)

I enjoy a nice, clean ROM on my phone, and then add anything I want to tweak from there. The benefits of a clean ROM like this include the fact that you won't have outdated versions of software you don't use built into the firmware after a hard reset, there are fewer apps to be buggy or running in the background, and you get to install JUST what you want to run. Also, you get the benefit of having a LOT more free memory.
The Lothinator Vogue ROM for 6.5 provides the bare essentials to have a running phone and little else. There were a few choices made, of course, in the building of the ROM, which certain users may agree or disagree with, but this is about as clean as I could bring myself to make it!
Notably missing:
This does not include any Manilla2d as it is designed to work without. It also does not include any versions of Opera, as these are frequently updated. Also, the keyboard options are limited since keyboard selection is very personal, and the menu could get cluttered quickly! Currently only available in Sprint. If you want a dozen features added, go see NFSFan's ROM, it is a great one, and he's better at this than I am anyway. If you just want a bare, clean 6.5 ROM, here ya go.
No screenshots because, well... This is Windows Mobile 6.5 and there's not anything special to see.
MEMORY USAGE: With 24mb PagePool size (This is with the Standard Version, UltraLite may have more free)
Storage Total: 150.35 / In use: 8.10mb Free: 142.25MB
Program Total: 116.93 / In Use 50.59mb Free: 66.36MB
(this is after loading my contacts with MyPhone & a few other minor settings changes, YMMV)
KNOWN ISSUE: For some reason, "Wireless Network Detected" is being set to the default sound on this ROM. This didn't occur until recently, and I'm not sure what has caused it. It causes the phone to beep every so often and you will certainly want to disable this in the sound settings. I am currently trying to research what is exactly causing this to be enabled.

I made this rom due to a request. This is a very light rom with only what is needed to run. The only thing added to this rom is the HTC_Black theme. I excluded the titanium theme as well.

This rom is super fast and seems to be really stable. It comes with office mobile 2010, and the only thing i have found that is not working is the sharepoint mobile 2010 which i have no idea what it does but its in the office mobile folder and the icon for audio gateway does nothing when you click on it in the start menu. I have added more bluetooth compatabilities to the rom. I have been testing this one out for several hours now and i have not found anything wrong. Also this rom has working titanium weather.

Hey guys i just wanted to post this previous build that was released just before 28205, i find it is a bit faster and it has less issues than the newest 28205 build. It has the exact same stuff as the 28205 V3 build. The only difference is the build number. Also with this build there is no need to put the titanium weather fix in because it is working on this build. So in my opinion this is the better rom, even if it is not the newest!

Can you give us more details about your ROM and tell me the bugs the rom has or anything i should know that could bother the rom

Im just finishing off 28205 V2. i am also uploading the cabs to install manila, ezinput, and windows live, that way if theres people that dont want it they dont have to install it.
So far the only bugs i know of is that the default theme has some graphical issues, but you can simply switch to any other theme, or install your own.

Downloading and trying it out. Do you know if the weather works in manilla?

Just flashed the V1 & did find one bug. The e start contacts don't open from the soft key or from the start menu.

Just flashed V2 contacts & the calendar will not open. Weather does not up date either.

You'll have to refresh my memory as your 6.5 ROM is the only one that I flashed that required the weather fix.

Flashed your rom, seems pretty quick. I can't get the weather in manilla to update. This isn't just your rom. It's on just about all roms except for Vin's and nagroms rom.

If you go over to egzthunder1's thread they were talking about the weather fix and he also has the download for it.

Yes this rom is generic and you must install your appropriate DCD carrier cab.
As far as i know now everything is working.

V3 already? Wow, you are moving thing quickly around here
I noticed that you are including eZinput as a separate cab. Have you been successful installing it? I have tried to cook it (both versions 1.5 and 2.1) in and install it as a separate cab with no luck and there are a few people out there who would like this feature in future roms. Let me know if you have any pointers. Thanks.
