dci Battery and Qwerty Memory cab - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

I have got this cab from JUVS, this qwerty memory and dci battery cab is fantastic ! I have been reading this forum, and really appreciated JUVS contribution to everyone here!
But I have a question: when I click on the the top rainbow bar, there is a small window comes out and showing some Language (is it russian?) and some percentage, which I don't understand,
1st row I guess is the battary %, it shows 80% right now on my X01HT
But the 2nd row shows 255% now.
I am wondering does anyone has same question with me?
May I know what do they mean? Or is it possible if anyone could translate to english of this cab?
Thanks very very much!

First line: battery, just as you guessed, the second is for the replacement battery -- don't really know, which PDA had this, but it's there if you need it. 255% is just -1% which means "not available". And yes, it's russian

Probably thats a line for Backup Battery which comes in older WM2003 devices?

Sorry I posted the wrong link. It is now corrected.
Bug
Ok I've just installed this. The menus are missing 'Settings', and there's no way to get to many of the programs such as Explorer, IE or any games.
There's also the nice Chinese glyph where there's normally the keyboard icon at the bottom of the menus.
... but it does work so good alpha
Alpha2 will come in some minutes.
Alpha 2 is out.
Startmenu is now functioning.
where is the link
where is the link now
Look at start post Alpha1 is on server, Alpha2 is at 80 percent and going.
Alpha2 is up.
then post a link
then please post link
As i said before look at the first post.

Hi.
I remember reading a few posts with people wanting to remove the battery icon on the top bar of today screen.
I don't have an universal to test this, but on my iPAQ hw6945 device I have to play around with, the battery icon isn't there...
In the registery at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\
There is a DWORD key called "ShowTitleBarClock"
If I set this to 1, I get a clock on the top bar and no battery icon
If I set this to 0, I get a battery icon and no clock...
This might work on other WM5 devices to remove the battery icon!

AKU3
Whats the verdict. Whats not working ) I would love to try it but as the universal is my main phone/pda and I use it alot I'm a little nervous about upgrading. Any noticeable improvements?
I have the ROM ready to upgrade if I get that fuzzy feeling from the crowd.

I would say the typical AKU3 improvements.
But it is a beta AKU3.
I will test the alpha3 build and after the weekend i can say more about it.
Cool!
Alpha 2 worked like a charm. I used the I-mate AKU2 extrom which did its thing quite happily (just asks you if you want to run the unsigned exe first).
Got the menus, all the usual programs and settings. Most of all - I HAVE MY BELOVED TIME AGAIN!!!!!!
I have tried basic stuff like making calls, but will carry on over the weekend.
Only interesting thing so far is the chinese glyph for the keyboard, and the ones in the soft keyboard.
Great work!
Exactly those are definitely on the todo list.
I've just installed it and I'm playing with it right now, first thing I miss is my english keyboard, all in chines, not good for me :-(
If there is no option for an english keyboard I thing I'm gonna go right back to my previous rom
However I found new things in this ROM like
in Programs, I have now 2 extra buttons:
Bluetooth stereo headphone
Internet connecztion sharing
In Settings also something new
an extra Wireless manageron top os the usual one
an USB to PC button witch seems to add extra possibilities to ActiveSync (did not test yet)
I'll go on playing and hope others here will take the step to update and let us know what's up;-)

I'm also interested with this information... so if someone knows the answer, please...
A. You can look for HTC Custom1.7 and that will give you an option to replace the time with the battery, you can do your own search here.
or
B. You can use this, I think this is better, imo....

Oh BTW I am sure a simple google search would have let you known this!!

A lot of wm6.1 roms coming out now have the 1% battery increment working. HOWEVER, wm6.1 can be bad for noobs...
You need to know what you're doing or you may have other problems.
Personally, I like jumping in to see how deep the water is and took the plunge but i did research first on potential problems and fixes... I like PDAViet. 19949 is the latest build but be careful you get one where the timebomb has been disarmed...

As an FYI, you get 1% increments in the Power window.. but the battery levels at top (at least in MRH 5.02) only move in 10% increments.

There are a number of ROMs now that have the 1% battery increments DLL.
10% increments is not a limitation anymore.
EDIT: Also for more education and wisdom, this thread highlights a lot...

this is not an update for Hermes ROM but a modification of the batters DLLs that can be replaced while cooking a ROM. it was developed and reached in the beginning by CRCinAus and then by all other chefs.
there is no any possibilty to make a cab file that replaces the modules because these DLLs are protected and can not be replaced. so if you want to enjoy this feature on your Hermes, you need to flash one of the latest WM6.1 that you can find on the forums.
PS I'm sorry for that post. it's clear to me now that it was not important to speak that way.
enjoy the time discovering!

Correct it has to be modified during the cooking process, CRCinAU was the first one that had enabled that reporting by hacking the driver dll files, hope he can come up with the next hack where we can have wifi running while the device sleeps, wishful thinking and a bit off topic but eh he can do one I am sure he can do another miracle.

Pocket Mechanic pro does this, big file but allows it.
I am also of the opinion that Schaps advanced 3.2 does it now. check the menu/more settings/connections tab. "Enable WI-Fi on standby mode"

if you are ready to cook your ROMs then you may replace the new DLLs in WM6 or WM5 kitchens (I suppose) but why do you want to cook WM6 builds if there are enough WM6.1 builds over here?

True! Your believe re SAC is right! but I find that when ever it goes to sleep it hangs the rom when it wakes up, even a soft reset doesn't really help, until I disable the feature

1% increment battery driver

I promised in one of the threads here that I would look into our (EU !) Rhodiums only reporting battery in 10% increments. As I received my Rhodiums today I did look into this. However, I didn't figure it out. I did see the structure of the battery driver and recalled no2chem mentioned a similar structure for the CDMA Touch Pro (1) - not like the GSM Touch Pro (1). So I hooked up with him on IRC and he pretty much held my hand making a 1% increment battery driver for the TP2.
So I learned a new trick and made this, all of the credit is to no2chem. I just extracted the files, sent them to him, had him walk me through the changes (and have him explain how and why), packaged it up, and this is the result. Tested on my own TP2!
no2chem's donation link is here: http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/page/Donate.aspx.
Obviously, for the 1% incremental battery icons on the taskbar you will still need an icon pack and the registry entries. Refer to your favorite taskbar mod for this.
By the way, keep an eye out for no2chem's improved battery drivers - he also showed me how to do USB fastcharge and the likes. I will not mess with this, but I'm sure one day he will
EDIT: As further credit, no2chem was partially shown this trick by cmonex, whom we all know, respect and love
EDIT#2: If this driver does not work right for you (it should, though), you can also try Quentin-'s new driver: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556318. This uses a different battery driver version as source, this one from a US device (the one I used is from an EU device).
nice.
+1 xdadevelopers.
i'll try it out in next day or two.
Well done guys, just installed it and battery is showing 98%.. I knew it was only a matter of time. Some great developers around.

well done. Brilliant !!
Thank you both very much . But I have one question. Does this new driver wil cause more battery drain cause it has to check more intensive or often?
Just for understanding.
Btw I am very happy to see the real numbers again.

No it does use more power... Actually battery always reports in 1%, but for some reason the battery driver rounds it to 10%. We just disabled the rounding function.
Thanks for the app, but I've had no joy with it on my Voda branded one.
Having said that there are no figures on my battery indicator at all! Just the plain white icon with 4 bands
Oh, and Batti 2.4 doesn't work properly either (which was the reason I wanted to try this)
Can you post your battdrvr.dll and battery.dll ?
You may need to use ROMExtract to get them.
I wish I knew how to do it!
While I am researching how: the battdrvr.dll is 7892 bytes dated 19/05/09 at 17:10:34
Thanks, it works perfectly

Heh I just thought some more... Batti is been known to behave strangely. This DLL will NOT replace the icons for the battery - you need to install a battery icon pack for that.

It doesnt work very well for me either. Taskbar icon is always full. I've tried even several icon sets (including the original one). Now my device is like 1/2 of batery and taskbar icon is full. I include my battdrvr.dll extracted from my ROM. I dont have there battery.dll at all.
Anyway I think Batti 2.4 shows it right.

Several questions didn't found yet...

Hello All,
I've been working a few days now with the TP2... wonderfull device... Since i also used the TP and Qtek 9100 this is really great device... i have though some minor things...
1. The size, it's pretty huge... my iPhone 3G is a bit bigger though... but it needs time... Nothing to do about it, just the way it is... ...
2. Another thing is, i have been using the TAB key on the TP external keyboard very often when typing... but the TP2 doesn't have it... I found an .REG update from a person in Norway saying he added FN+T as a TAB function, but that only adds a TAB in space, not jumping to the next field... Anyone any idea how to make a real TAB functionality...?
3. Opera, i've updated Opera to the newest beta, but when restarting the phone it keeps starting Opera... The newer Opera is slower in starting the application, but when running it's faster and more responsive... Also when i uninstall the Opera i installed, the old Opera is not working anymore... So my questions are... Where/how can i disable it (i've been in the registry and HTC's bootloader anywere but no Opera)...? and Where can i get the "pre-installed" CAB file...? So i can reinstall that CAB file...?
4. When using the HTC TouchFlo contacts they are sorted as "firstname lastname". No problem, but when i select the letter at the most right so i can jump to names with that corresponding letter. It jumps to a very not logic point. When i select the letter Z it jups to names starting with D somehow it jumps not far enough. I have the Dutch TP2... Anyone noticed the same...? Or anyone made a solution for it...?
Thanks in advance,
Michiel

i have the same problem too. went to HTC customer care and they were surprised by the issue too. told them to log a case to address this, hopefully they did.
I don't have this issue on mine - the "jumps" on the contact list are flawless.
As to the size, it's only longer and heavier than my Dopod D810 (Trinity) - the TP2 is actually both narrower and thinner, only by a very tiny margin.

I haven't tried it with a shorter contact list, since i have over 400 contacts. Anyway maybe it's just a bug with the Dutch version, maybe THKC can agree on that (don't know if he has the Dutch version too).
