Best Radio For Europe - P3600 ROM Development

What is the best Radio for european user with WM6?

there is no one answer - because in europe there are many operators - some have had problems with some Radios while other work fine with them.
Only thing - try them yourself and stick with the one that works best for you

Hi @all
an answare ther is, my be mar_60 would like to know which is the best radio rom in italy or in the country where he lives. So if mar_60 lives in italy many italian user can answare to him.
In my opinion, 1.46.00.11 or 1.50.08.11 have the same performances.

The answer is that mar_60 wants to know which radio will perform best for his GPS, GSM etc in the region of Italy that he uses his phone in most (does he use EDGE / HSPDA etc - it's available in Roma - but where he lives? Does he use GPS? I don't know and don't think you do either) for the ROM he has installed (Lasagna) with the TIM operator.
See not simple.
Yes - and if you look in the thread for 1.50.08.11 you'll see plenty of people disagree with you - and have lots of problems with this radio.
Also - it depends on the frequency used by your operator. (There are several operators in each country - and they use different GMS norms. What use to be PCM1800 (now GSM 1800) - I believe is used by Bouygues in France whereas GSM 900 is used by SFR and Orange in France. Bouygues for example has big problems with 1.46 and 1.50 radios - but SFR works great with the radio 1.46 - but not with 1.50.
His question - comes despit the fact that he has 1.50 installed (signature) - so his opinion may differ from yours based on his experiences.
Then you've got the ROM version used which comes into play aw well.
So it's really not as simple as you suggest.
However - what is simple (does not require reinstalling ROM, software or data) is flashing different Radio ROMS. Which is why I say try before you buy and see which is the best for your ROM with TIM in Italia. Capisca?

sorry, i'm on SFR network and i have Rom radio 1.50 and no problem appear ^^

1.50 works great

I´ve radio 1.50 and works perfektly in T-Mobile site in czech, slovak, deutch, austria ...

Yes, I should have been clearer - this just goes to illustrate my point that what you use the Trinity for, what ROM you have and what you network use and coverage is makes a lot of difference.

Like says nealed , in my opinion the only way for solving your doubt is try 1.46 and 1.50.
Personally i use 1.50.08.11 with lasagna rom , but onestly i can't say yet that is better then 1.46.30.11 or 1.46.00.11.

radio 1.12

hi
can anyone point me in the direction of the download for this rom - i keep seeing it in people's sigs and i'm jealous

A newer version of the radio stack is not necessarily better than the older one. For example, several members in the UK find 1.09 works better than 1.11
I don't know where the 1.12 radio stack is, but the 1.11 is available here: ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Universal/Radio
1.11 radio problems
I have had strange probems with 1.11, including loss of signal & inability to dial in places where there is a signal. Only starts working again after a soft reset. Its intermittent but reason enough to go back to the QTEK ROM with radio 1.09.

I have a feeling that it depends on where you use your phone...
I had the same probs with droping calls where the phone worked before in the UK with 1.11 going to try 1.10 for a bit.
How To Upgrade MDA PRO from Chinese to English
Hi,
I just bought a T-Mobile MDA PRO in China but it is in Chinese. Can some one advise me which WWE ROM I should use in order not to cause the system hang after upgrade? Can I upgrade WWE ROM from other brand? I got the following info from the set:
ROM version: 1.00.00WWE
Radio version: 1.06.00
Protocol version: 42.40.P8
ExtROM version: 1.13.134 CHT
Thank your in advace

fongsg: Go for the Qtek AKU2 ROM 1.30.77 1.30.176 1.09.00 WWE.
It is one of the few ROMs which have AKU2 as well as A2DP for Bluetooth. It's quite fast and stable as well. The radio ROM is also very stable - apparently better than the 1.11 stack.
i upgraded to radio 1.08 and so far have been having lots of probs with the signal, also losing my net connection etc.. anyone suggest a good radio?

Try 1.09. It seems to be the most popular radio stack at the moment.

what about RADIO 1.10 from T-mobile ???
1.10 gives me the best reception (in the Netherlands)
I'm having problems with 1.09 in the US I drop my GPRS and calls fail all the time. I am upgrading to 1.11 to see if this helps.
1.11 is REALLY bad in the UK on o2, bad signal, and once lost it is impossible to get back, have to switch off radio and then back on to get the signal back. That's my experience anyway, 1.09 is the best I have used so far, very strong signal and very stable
Using an O2 XDA Exec with Radio 1.09 in Asia [Manila, Philippines] any other Universal users who have updated to Radio 1.11? How is it? Does it perform better compared to 1.09? I am unsure if I should update my Radio to 1.11, some posts here say 1.11 is unstable for their territory but I would like some info on 1.11 radio ussage in Asia. TIA.
No problems here using 1.11. Been using it for about 1 month. Portugal territory

also have the XDA Exec here in Manila and I have tried 1.11. Went back to 1.09 as it seems to give me better reception
@herbules: Many thanks for the info I'll probably stay with 1.09, may I ask which operator you are on? I am on Globe and their UMTS coverage sucks.

Hey guys,
Where I could download a stable Qtek 9000 ROM which is best in HK and Manila...?
Thanks

I need a little help please...

Hi,
I'm completely new to all this but I have done my best to try and figure it all out for myself but I'd still like to make sure I've understood a few things correctly...
I have an SFR s300+ bought here in France. The OS is WM5 and I'd like WM6.
I have allready tried out the "off"+"camera button"+soft reset to see if I needed to install a hard SPL : I do.
I've downloaded Des' Crashproof (due to the reassuring name) SPL.
I can now install that by following the guide without backing anything up yet (correct me if I'm mistaken)...
Once done I will have to copy all my important info and then I will be able to flash any ROM of my choice (English, French, official or not) is that right?
If I'm not mistaken and I can now install any ROM, which English ROM is the best?
I'd also like to know if I have to install a radio after this or will the one I have at the moment (that works fine) be preserved?
If I do have to install a radio which do you recommend for SFR in France considering I sometimes go to Spain.
One last question ; does installing an update to WM6 require a product key or registration of any sort like Windows on the PC or can I just flash and use freely?
If anyone takes the time to answer any of my questiions I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance.
Yes, install the ROM you like.
Best ROM? impossible to answer - lots of good ones about - try bepe black and blue karmba, mary - any recent English ROMS.
Although you do not NEED to install another radio - you probably SHOULD because your battery life under WM6 will be terrible with your current radio.
I would recommend 1.46.00.11 - although an radio from 1.41 upwards should be OK with SFR and on other networks in other countries. (I'm an SFR customer and connect in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy, UK etc.)
You will not need a licence key key to work with WM6.
Happy flashing.
Thanks for the answers!
Ok, well I'll give it a go when I'm a little less tired and report back...
One last thing, the battery life under WM6 comment got me wondering, is it worth the hassle (WM6 that is)?
I would guess so considering all the WM6 ROMs that people have gone to great lengths to make...
All opinions are welcome and appreciated.

(old one) Diamond Radio Thread

Thread closed. Please visit the new one.
In my experience, I have only tried 1.25.03, 1.25.05, and 1.25.08 on my MDA Compact IV with Swift's V7.0 Full Rom (recommended!)
Out of those three, .08 appears to give me the most stable (and slightly better HSDPA) signal on T-Mobile UK in the south.
I can't say I have noticed any difference in battery life between .05 and .08, both of which are approx (IMO) 30% better than .03
GPS aquisition - maybe a tad faster on .08, but I reckon it is impossible to make any reasonable judgement. I have certainly had no problems with acquisition on any of them, with all of them acquiring within 30 secs.
WIFI - I use a WPA2 encrypted network, and have never got my diamond to connect with any rom or any radio - it times out on the first key exchange so I cannot really comment at this time.
Hope that helps someone.

if you flash just the radio...it won't or "shouldn't" touch anything else
ill try 08 today when i get home today from work
Reverted back from .08 to .05 after a couple of days. Seems that .05 is better for me: better UMTS signal reception.
ROM: Swift 7.0
Country / Provider: NL / KPN
GPS: .05 and .08 perform similar
UMTS: .05 is better than .08
judging from these posts i think i'll have to try .08 too, i was on .03 as stock and i've changed to .05 and it was stable enough to not go back, however, an increase in HSPDA would be nice
has is ever been clearly determined if there is a Radio Rom upgrade that will take a European Diamond and get it to function on 3G with ATT/Cingular in the US? If so, which one?

has it been clearly proved? i have not seen any real proof that it works or does not work. users here say they know and it sooo obvious, but still no written proof. its been a while since that US version has been around and not 1 peep. so, i really just gave up. even with edge speed my phone still fux up any device that comes near.
I have a question what radio version need to use for 3G in 1900Mhz?, thanks..
.08 rocks!
Well, I had bought the Touch Diamond EURO version, not realizing what I was doing. I live in Anchorage, Alaska, USA, I did the Dutty Rom, HardSPL, etc..
Then I went to the .08 radio, WALLA!
Where I had 1 bar or no service, now I have 5 bars.
I am gonna make a donation to Dutty! This is AWESOME!!!
Up here in AK, soon, we will have 3G via AT&T also SUPPOSEDLY!!
These threads ROCK!!!!
a newbie question again!
i tried to upgrade from .05 to .08 but nothing happened and I think that is because I have original ROM.
what I have to do to be able to upgrade radio.
tnx

You can keep the original ROM and update the Radio.
You need to Hard SPL your Diamond (look in stickies for instructions) then download a radio and install.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DONE HARD SPL FIRST!!!
otherwise you will end up with a Diamond shaped paperweight
i tried .08 Radio but it drains my battery realy fast. Reverting back to .05 again
I disabled 3G because the phone is switching all the time, bad 3G reception in my neighbor
Country: NL
Operator: T-mobile
Band: tested GPRS, tested 3G, no difference in batt usage @.08
No No No.....08.....
I WOULD ADVISE YOU NOT TO USE 08 RADIO BECAUSE I PUT IT AND WHEN THEY WERE CALLING ME I WAS LOOSING CALLS AND IT WAS MAKING 10 SECONDS TO CONNECT AND OFFCOURSE THE OTHER PERSON WAS CLOSING THE PHONE..............I WAS PUTTING BACK 05 AND EVERYTHING IS OK AGAIN...................
BE CAREFUL MY FRIENDS........DONT UPDATE YET........

Best rom for use in Brasil

I pretent to go whitin some time to Brasil for a long time as in the past I have had quite a few problems with the settings there I start to believe that it can be the best change to prevent this by loading a rom which is used bij people in Brasil, at least the problems which I made have there will be known.
Are there people from Brasil here which use the Diamond overthere if so which rom do you use, I don't mind if it is in Portuguese I can understand it perfectly.
Thanks in advanced
Willem
U can use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439102
I uses Dutty´s ROM as you can see in my signature with radio .08 and have no issues here in state of Sao Paulo.
I tested radios .03,.05,.07,.08,BS14 and for me .08 its the best option.
I already used my Diamond in TIM and Oi networks.
I'm using Duttys ROM too.
Lite 2.9 one + 07 radio + 1.40 HardSPL
Everything but the camera is working nicely here.
The H and E data connections are ok too.

Im from Brazil
Me and my wife are using the ark666 ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439102
Very stable, fast and in portuguese, better than Diamond Project v3.3 ROM, that is in portuguese too, but kind unstable and slow.
It cames with the essentially software needed. Use the TF3D embedded to change the Touchflo3D to Brazilian Portuguese.
The only thing missed is the network setup wizard for Brazilian operators, so you have to manually configure the network settings.

This wizard for Brazilian operators is this availleble in other roms? I mean if it is then it must be possible to whitdrawl the wizard and then you can use whatever rom.

Dutty's latested roms fully detect brazillian operators.
You could try his connection setup avaliable here

This cab is made for Diamond. I dont think it will work in others HTC devices.
SwiftBL 7.5 ROM
Hello,
I use this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408109 in Brazil. Have no problem with it. Camera, calendar, emails, everything is working fine with this ROM. It can't recognize the brazilian's operators though. I will also try the wizard from Dutty's to see if it work. I use the radio .05 and it's ok. I realy liked this ROM, but it seems that SwiftBL is no longer working with his ROM.

Vodafone (AU) ROM Required

Hi all,
I have a telstra locked diamond and have changed to vodafone here in australia - the htc site won't let me download the vodafone rom, so i was wondering if anyone can either supply me with the latest vodafone rom, or the direct link to download it from htc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as i can't use vodafone data connections as the phone is locked to use the telstra network for data.
thanks in advance,
paul
Paul, I think any other ROM (custom included) will work fine, the data will be reconfigured automatically. I'm using SwiftBL 7.5 and the first time it starts, it auto-configured data and MMS for me for Optus.
thanks
Thanks for that - have got that rom installed, but had problems with the hard-spl...
Anyway - it works.
Cheers.
Mind You...
I'm having a few problem with that rom - so if anyone can either supply a link, or a phone serial number that will allow the download it would be much appreciated.
Which ROM are you having trouble with?
SwiftBL 7.5

Australia = AU
Austria = AT
Was using Switft, then tried dutty 3.2...
Strange, everytime I soft-reset some registry settings change back, like the keyboard setting and show SIM numbers. Also, don't seem to be able to get any satellites in gps...
I emailed htc support and they seem unwilling to give me the link to the vodafone rom.
Guess I'll just play around until I get angry enough to try percussive maintenance with a half-pound sledge hammer...
there are new vodafone stock roms, on xda, strange you didn't saw them
Hmm - I must be blind...
I did find the latest stock rom for AU which seems to be running just fine...
Happy now...
Thanks everybody.
Woops - I thought that you would have had problems with the frequency change from Telstra to Vodafone?
My radio notes say:
USA + Telstra: 850/2100 MHz DIAM130
Europe + Vodafone & Optus: 900/2100 MHz DIAM100, DIAM110, DIAM200, DIAM300
D100 on TLS will use HSDPA in city OK (2100) but reverts to slow EDGE in country (stays on 2100 not fast 850 Next G)
G=GPRS
E=EDGE
H=HSDPA
3G= WCDMA/UMTS

Which rom is that? I've just installed Olinex HardSPL 1.30 Signed and was looking for a stock 1.93 based rom to use in AU with Three.
I am looking for a stock rom in australia as well. I have not found any Aus stock roms out there. Maybe it is just a generic stock rom that works all around the world.
I would even be happy with a 3 Australia rom but i cannot seem to find that yet.
Cheers
