i don't know if this is the right section, but i'll try :
does anyone have the german Windows Moile 5 Upgrade (!not the A02-Update from the dell-page) from german WM2003SE to WM5.
It has been sold on CD, but not anymore available. Can anyone share the german A00 (or is the first A01?) WM5-Upgrade-ROM for me?
anyway. Satani (if you are still reading these)
I checked you asked at aximsite and got no answer. Not the one you were looking for.
I replied there but I am gonna do it here:
hi satani.
From what I have read in xda-forums. There is a different bootloader from WM2003SE to WM5_A02. So if the SD loader method can work over different languages version (I think it should). I think you should do the following:
1. Change your WM2003SE German to WM2003SE English (SD Loader method).
2. Upgrade WM2003SE English to WM5_A01 English (Normal method)
3. Change WM5_A01 English to WM5_A02 ENGLISH (Normal method). Now you will have the new bootloader.
4. WM5_A02 English to WM5_A02 GERMAN (SD Loader Method).
Now your job is to find the different Upgades either on official Dell website or somewhere else...
That may work but I can't confirm and I don't know if that would brick your axim.
Just read the thread about the SD Loader method.
Hope that helps. Cheers

nice to see, some people are making 'cross-references'...
so i found http://www.todaysppc.com/blog/?id=axim_user&uid=kjd2338&no=330 this link at the WM6 for x50v discussion, on this site, there is an archieve someting like : http://axim.kangjang.net/AximX50v_WM5_A01_EN_fr2k3.rar, it seems, this site site sais, you can put the WM5-bootloader n SD, too and after that upgrade to an english WM5. Is that right? (or did i misunderstand something, as i dont speak such 'cryptic' language as Jap or Cinese...
I can just tell you what i did. I upgraded my X50v to WM5_A03 on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=313081
I followed the information by maglite there. Mine was English.
For what I read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322498
There wasn't a bootloader different from WM2003SE to WM5:
WM2003SE and WM5_A01 (or is it A00?) had the same bootloader.
WM5_A02 came with a different bootloader which is the same one to WM5_A05 & WM6.
Or maybe WM2003SE and WM5_A01 have different bootloaders but also WM5_A02 came with different bootloader from WM5_A01.
It was long thread now I can't remember.
Sorry I can't help you more.
well, i tranlated the last page given from my last post and corresponding to this, it is possible to upgrade directly to WM5 using SD-Flash : all i need to do is, following the steps, shown there. (here i have a question : ist the 'action'-button the button in the middle of my movementkeys?) and then i may follow, this guide. (a clear english-version is giving at aximsite, which is nearly the same threat with the differeence, that at those page, the downloads are working and they offered and wm5-rom with wm2003se-bootloader.) I'm about to try this out : but
well referring to this page, there is a difference between the bootloaders (WM2003SE uses DiMa-loader unless WinMobile 5 uses a WM5-one., but a WM2003-bootloader is included in the above mentionned file)
first my rescue-questions :
may i go backt to my current (or another) rom?
what is the action-button?

Hello Everyone,
I just joined this forum as i was able to buy a QTEk with the following details:
Version de ROM : 1.13.74 ESN
Version de Movil : 1.04.02
Version Protocolo : 42.37.P8
Version de ExtROM : 1.13.169 ESN
As I am more fluent in English than Spanish, I wanted to upgrade my ROM to English, but also I would need to Backup the ROM of the spanish version so if there are problems with the phone, I can flash it back to the original manufacturer installed ROM.
What program do I need to Backup the ROM (and restore in the future) before I start fiddling?
Also, I heard that I can erase Extended ROM. As of now, what can I use the space that I will gain from erasing the contents of the Extended ROM?
Also one thing i noticed is that some of the keys have rub marks coming from the upper part of the universal (the screen) I think they touch eachother when it is colsed. Is this a factory defect?
Finally, I don't know where to register and get support for my QTEK. Where do you download/search for patches? Where do I register this device? Should I have gotten an i-mate instead?
Thanks in advance for all your comments, guys.
Jorge
GUYS?!?
Hello Anybody out there?
I have posted this message 2 weeks ago, a few views but no answers so I'll go ahead and update you on what's happened:
Thanks to BUZZ_LIGHTYEAR I was able to RAW DUMP my Spanish ROM to a File which I exchanged for a decoded nk.nbf file from an unpacked English ROM Update (the QTEK WWE) then I encoded the RAW file so now I have a new nk.nbf file which i pressume is the Spanish verion.
I'm not sure if it'll make a difference that the rest of the files are in English but will this update any UNIVERSAL to the Spanish verion? Anybody needs Spanish ROM and is willing to test this out? I can send you the Files needed? If it doesn't work you just have to flash back to the English. I haven't tested it yet because my device is originally Spanish so I have no fallback ROM if it doesn't work. But I followed BUZZ's instructions and I don't think it's gonna cause a problem.
Hmm,
seems this topic is very boring to everybody here, oh well....
Anybody has similar case of rubbed-out keys on the keyboard?
Just to show that there are persons available reading and having an opinion
Left and right of my keyboard, a little lower then the keys itself there are two outstanding rubber ? pads ? protecting the display from touching the keyboard, be it in portrait or landscape mode. So no, I do not have this problem.
Ruud
Mine have the rubber stuff too, Maybe i have them a little low... Could I possibly get a replacement? I don't think this can be considered wear-and-tear as i only had my phone for 1 month..... And the "damage" was caused by open/closing of the phone. Not using of the keyboard.
I would say certainly worth a try.
Good luck.
Ruud
i need spanish rom
I bought my qtek 9000 from O2 (UK) by ebay, it works great, but i need spanish software, i'd like to probe MoviStar, vodafone (if available) and free Spanish versions. I also need instructions or manual, i flashed a xda2 once, but i can't remember how i did, i think i put it in a special test mode. Thanks.
I have posted the QTEK Spanish ROM in the uploads section. Please look for it. Both OS and Extended ROM are there.
Just download the OS, and run the "noID" file to upgrade your QTEK to Spanish. Just remember that also the keyboard will be configured to Spanish (which has the "Ñ" character) so you have to re-map it back to whatever keyboard you have. You can search how to do this in the forums.
Just download the 2 said files, then you can upgrade your ROM. These ROM's are dated OCTOBER 2005
what do i need for backuping my system to a sdcard?
Im not sure. I backed-up to my PC. I think you can search here for grab_it program that dumps to SD card but i'm not sure it will work for WM5 or Universal
Well, how did you backup system to your pc?
and thanks again.
Actually, what i backed up was my OS nad ExtendedROM. No personal customizations.
You can see in my second post that i was able to do it thru steps i saw at BUZZDEV.NET thanks to buzz-lightyear.
It's under "how to d2s dump" you can follow my story there on how to backup ROM. Esentially it copies your operating system to a file on your PC which you can then install on another device after encoding/decoding.
I have posted my Spanish QTEK ROM on the FTP site so you can change your QTEK to spanish if you want.
What's your QTEK ROM version? all details please:
ROM Version
ROM Date
Protocol Version
Radio Version
Extended ROM Version

It is not a shipping ROM but you need 2 files:
1st: ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Universal/
QTEK Spanish ROM (1.13.74 ESN).rar --- This is the OS ROM
2nd: ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Universal/
QTEK ExtendedROM.rar --- this is the Extended ROM
i have the spanish extended rom, but the jasjar don´t reconice ?¿
thanks for alll
You have to install first the QTEK OS ROM then copy the Extended ROM after. Where in Spain do you live?
You can call me if you need more help. But i speak English, my Spanish is MIERDA
where unlock ?¿?
ok i live in malaga, do you have msn
mine is [email protected]
Hi Folks,
that is what I have: a MDA Pro from German T-Mobile with latest T-Mobile SW
that is what I want: just to get the MSFP on my device
that is what I did:
- removed the SimLock with the LokiWiz Tool
- upgraded the ROM with the bootloader method (as all the other things were not working) with Universal_Upgrade_v1.30.68_radio_1.09.0.zip
Now that is the english version (on a qwertz keyboard). Neither the latest Qtek 9000 ROM nor the Xda_exec_Upgrade_1.30.162.exe is installable. I tried to trick them out: during the installation the nk.nbf file is extracted. I just copied this file to an alternate location and later I tried to install this with the bootloader method. But the tool does not even recognize the ROM (although it is located in the appropriate folder).
I would be glad if anybody has a hint for me.
thanks tschaj
:?: Could you explain how did you remove SIMlock from Universal? :?:
here's the tool (you have to register)
http://buzzdev.net/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,109/func,select/id,29/
and here the description:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33796&highlight=lokiwiz
ehh
that is the unlocktool for the wizzard lol. not for they universal.. you cant unlock the universal yet cheaply haahah
... mmmhhh: unfortunately dvl is right, the SIM is still locked.
But as mentioned initially my aim was to use the MSFP (and if possible the latest Qtek 9000 Software).

Hi!
Some days ago I have bought an Asus P535.
The S.O.'s language is ITALIAN....well, I have understand how change it to WWE....however, I don't understand Which ROM I can use !
On the Asus's site, there are the only (newest) firmware that I have found:
V4.3.25 (ONLY for Hong Kong user) - 47mb
V4.3.25 (ONLY for Taiwan user) - 47mb
...where is an WWE rom ???
P.s.
I have also found a "P535 Phone Module Firmware V4.5.0 - 1mb"
...is for ALL LANGUAGE ???
nobody ???

yes.
I haven't upgraded the rom myself, but I have installed that phone firmware upgrade on an australian rom.
And no, I don't know where to get the australian rom - the shop installed it for me and refused to give me a copy.
I found:
P535_V4315_WWE_TH00.rar
and
V4315_WWE_MS00.rar
which one is the newest??
try using an ftp client.
an alternative ftp site, which has the same files:
ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/IA/P535
ok tnks....however,
which one is the newest??
Tnks again!
the one with the highest version number
That would be 4.3.15 for the wwe version.
There's a couple of roms with 4.3.35 version but those are for taiwan and hongkong.
I've seen someone mention that the russian (RU) version has some russian rubbish that you do not want/need, so I suggest you go for the thailand (TH) or malaysia (MS) version.
I have never tried to change rom myself, so I am afraid I am unable to help you if you run into trouble. But please post your results, I want to try it at some point.
so....
TH = Thailand
and
MS = Malesia
????
Both are in english/WWE ???
As I said, I have not done this upgrade myself.
Read the thread I linked to above. It should answer a few questions.
But as I understand it, both of these are WWE yes.

So far in this forum the ROM upgrade was academic.
Here is reality
My P535 is bricked!!
During Rom Update (following all the rules as posted) The process stopped.
It gets stuck on the start menu (Asus Screen).
The Hard reset does not work. ( Reset + Power button).
I can get to the bootloader screen (Power button + right mike(?) button+Reset)
and it just shows a screen with the waiting on.
Anyboby , can you help. Can I do hard reset another way?
It seems that ASUS offers the Rom Update if your ASUS P 535 is running and from the Mini sd card.
All the other Phone PDAs I had before (Qtek 100,s200, O2 atom, HP rw 6828. HTC (Dopod m700) P3300, HTC (Dopod D810) P3600 the bootloader did get the ROM Update file from the PC while in Activ Sync with the USB port. The bootloader in the ASUS products works differently. It does look for the usb connection but the ROM is in the miniSD. Am I doing something wrong?
Can someone point out the error of my ways?
Thanks in advance
I'm sorry to hear that. Very sorry.
I don't know if you did anything wrong. I also have an I-mate K-Jam (HTC Wizard) and it seems easy to recover from a failed upgrade on the wizard.
I haven't seen similar stories about the P535, so don't (yet) know a way to recover from a failed upgrade on the P535. But I will let you know if I find/read about a way to do it.
Maybe you could try contacting the author of the only "homebrew" ROM I know about - his webpage is here: http://norad.shacknet.nu/lifeforce/ and he has a feedback-form for bug reports. He is probably much more experienced with rom updates than I am, so it's worth a try.
(he has also posted an announement for his homebrew rom on xda-dev here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1235311)
I thought the hard reset combo was up+reset...
Maybe it only works if the OS is running - I don't know.
I had an idea:
I tried using the p525 rom tools (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284379) to extract "RomGalaxy.NB0" from GalaxyII.cap, and I managed to extract it:
C:\P525RomTool11>P525RomTool.exe -d GalaxyII.cap
ASUS P525 ROM Tool 1.1
Converting ... DONE, to ROMGalaxy.NB0
Click to collapse
But - I have read that the p525 rom tools don't work on p535 roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284379&page=7) - so I don't know if this NB0 file is useless/has the wrong checksum or whatever...
If you want you can try the rest of the procedure (I don't dare trying on my own phone):
- flash this NB0 file via the bootloader as it's described (in step 6) in the p525 thread I mentioned above:
Flash ROMGalaxy.NB0 via bootloader (copy it to SD card root, press "camera" fully, press reset).
Click to collapse
Maybe there's another button combo you have to press on the P535 - Maybe the one you use on your P535 to get into the bootloader - I don't know, I'm just guessing.
Maybe the NB0 file needs to have another name - ROMGalaxyII.NB0? I don't know this either.
I guess this wasn't much help... Let's hope someone more experienced than me can come up with something better...
I downloaded that homebrew rom I mentioned: http://norad.shacknet.nu/lifeforce/ today.
It comes with the following install procedure:
Flashing:
1. Disable USB ActiveSync.
2. Push Off button + rec. button + nav. up + reset 5sec.
3. connect the PDA to PC
4. Start AsusUpdateROM.cmd
Click to collapse
Which means it does not install from an SD card.
Try that one, see if it works.

I don't know if the russian rom has russian menu.
I've seen someone mention that it is mostly english with a few russian add-ons.
But I'm not sure - maybe asus russian website (if it exists) can tell you if the russian p535 has russian or english menus?

It is WWE with some russian add-on, but 99% of the ROM is in english. On the other hand, the device's extrom contains a language extender (in my case this is Hungarian), and it installs during the first booting process along with some network settings. I believe that the russian P535's has the same LENg (of course with russian language).

hi all,
i'm going to buy Asus A696. the problem is that it is not yet on the market in our country so i'm thinking to buy it from another country - it means different language version of WM5.
my question is: with coming update of WM6 would i be able to flash the device with different language version than previously installed WM5? all i would need is WM6 in english, i don't even need my mother language..
cheers!
I buy A696, I need change the language, French to inglish, is this possivel?

yes, me too.
i have a696 with wm5 Engish, now i want to upgrade to wm6 Chinese.

2.how to pass the language check and upgrade to wm6 Chinese.
i only have the official wm6 file, it's the .img file, from asus site.

What we can do is:
1. attach PDA to the PC with USB cable and wait for ActiveSync to sync
2. open a command prompt
3. run pdocread -t
4. run pdocread -l
5. run pdocread 0x0 0xXXX nk.nb0 where 0xXXX is the size of the rom returned in the step 3 (for our WM5 should be 0x2200000)
6. wait until the process finish
Now we got a copy of our original PDA firmware
To upgrade the PDA back to the origiginal or to another version we got, we have to:
1. attach the PDA to the PC with USB cable and CLOSE ActiveSync
2. press on the PDA the keys POWER+ENTER+RESET, the PDA bootloader will start in upgrade mode by USB and wait for the firmware from the USB
3. use usbloader to upload our nk.nb0 or any other firmware we got to the PDA
This is what I have read from that forum, but I've not tested jet cause I have only the copy of my firmware and waiting that someone make a copy of his english PDA to be able to upload the WM6 WWE update.
That is the user "l0v3r" says in the other post.

Hi All
i am very new in this handheld business and before i go ahead and crash the device i thought i could get some assistance , i already read some of the threads regarding from french to english and chinese to english. My thing is i just bought this yesterday in italy and once i get started with it . reallized that the whole thing is ,in italian its from a cell provider called TİM in italy. So can anyone guide my step by step what to do in order to make this device all english
İ really appreciate all your help folks
You must download from ASUS 2 firmwares, ENG and CHN.
Extract in your SD the folder 2577 from ENG version
Overwrite autorun.exe in SD\2577 with the one in CHN version.
Put your SD in your p320 and play!!!
The difference is in autorun.exe, chinese version doesn't check language, so you can flash what you want!!!
Thanks i will try it as soon as possible , since i work on a cruiseship , the internet connection is very bad , so first i have to get the chinese firmware since i have the the ENG version , from the CHN version i just need the autorun.exe nothing else right and delete the autorun from the ENG version.
I ll give it a try and post it but really appreciate it
ASUS TIM Italina to English language
Hi
i tried to flash the english.bin using the chinese autorun.exe but it still doesn't work , i even tried to flash the whole chinese 2577 file first to see , if that would make a difference , in the end it still gives failed message (during soft reset) or it tells me to ensure its the same language .
So i am looking for other ways.
Please anymore assistance is needed
thats it
no more help i guess from members of this site , very disappointed , i have spoken finally with Asus here and the advised me to sent the device in they will be loading the mobile 6.1 professional english version for $ 30.
Again thanks for those who at least tried to respond to me
