To do a hard reset.
Press both soft keys and insert stylus into soft reset button and press.
Release the soft reset button and keep pressing the soft keys.
When the "This operation will delete all your personal data, to manufacturer default" appears on screen.
Press Green call button to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
The bootloader is invoked by pressing down the Power and Voicedialer buttons simultaneously, and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button at the left side. Continue pressing the two buttons for a few seconds after pressing and releasing the reset button until the bootloader screen appears.

Hi,
My MDA3's power button (on/off) stopped working!! Pressing the button does NOTHING!!! I had locked all keys except the power button, since the power button stopped working, the ONLY way i could turn device on was resetting it!!!!
I have tried upgrading ROM etc, but the power button still wont work!
Can anyone please help me with this?
How did you enter bootloader to flash the rom, is the power button not needed on the mda3 to enter bootloader.?
....
interestingly enough i was able to reset the device by just using the reset pinhole, even the hard reset they say by using recorder+power+reset i was able to do with out the power.
It sounds like you have a hardware problem rather than software, I'd send it back & get it swapped before the warranty runs out if I were you.
We've had four units fail with dodgy buttons, you might even find that it's one the other buttons that is stuck in the pressed position thereby preventing use of the power button (try the sound recorder/camera buttons).
..
I was able to fix this problem by opening the phone, cleaning it with compressed air and putting it back together. I suspect this fixed the stuck button somehow.
I had simmilar problem. There must have been garbage in the button, as I noticed that it did not have the same 'click' feel to it when it stopped working. Luckily my phone was still under warranty, and I swapped it out (ugh)
HELP Please.
I just got Samsung i900 Omnia.

I have tried to do so but no luck
hard-reset i900
The Samsung hard-reset of i900 is pain-on-the-a**....
Hold the End and Send button lightly at the same time press Soft-Reset button with slylus.
Just hold the two buttons light, do not press hard, but to my experience, how light... I really don't know... just try many... many time... and suddently, it come up the hard reset menu.
Sometime it took me about an hour... bloody...
Good luck,
KC
sure, already did it a couple of times. its gonna show you to press send to format the device or something like that.
Thanks,
I have tried it for more then an hour, but i will keep on trying
dude, just lay the omnia on a flat surface, use left pointer and middle fingers to press (and hold) the send and end buttons. with right hand, use the stylus to soft reset the phone. i know i did have to try maybe 2-3 times before i got it right. but after that initial uncomfortableness, the next ones were easier.
tricky part is keeping it still while trying to do it.
i success on my first try thanks for explanation guys
Thanks
Worked like charm !!
The trick is not to let go of the End & Send buttons until the reset screen appear ...
i tried till my fingers are numb.
finally worked. thank you man.
press & hold. really does work. and hold for like..6-10secs.

Actually, what I did was press the reset button, while booting up, once the Samsung screen appears, immediately press the call and end key together. It'll ask if you want to reformat, then press the call to accept or end to reject.

missing internet sharing, omnia i900
Hello I'm new , just got the omnia, but is missing the internet sharing icon ,is there any way to install it ?
How to Hard Reset Your Omnia EASILY
Dear All;
Please use this method to hard reset your samsung omnia i900:
1.Press the soft reset hole beside your power button
2.Press the Call and Cancel Button together when you see the Samsung Omnia on the screen
3.The Reset Screen appear
Just It.
For those of us who get frustrated with the reset button being hidden under the TP2 cover, I'm happy to have just discovered that you don't even need to go there... Just hold down the volume down button and do a soft reset from within the software and hey presto. Same result.
For a hard reset?
Never needed a stylus.
Just navigate to Settings - All Settings - System - Clear storage - 1234 - Done.
Easy enough with my finger.
And where do you find a soft-reset button on you Rhodium??
(I had to install Smaberg's util for a softreset button)
personally I downloaded the "reboot" app from the market place...

take the cover off, opposite side of the vol. buttons.
Holding down the volume? That doesn't do anything on my Tilt2.
I usually use the HD Soft Reset applet that installs along with HD Tweak (placed it in the TouchFlo Programs tab for quick access). Or else I just hold the power button to shutdown, then power up again. The latter "usually" works when other things on the phone are locking up. But occasionally the phone will be completely frozen, and I need to resort to the stylus button inside the battery cover.
Vol Down? this accesses the boot loader not Hard Reset!
in anycase you don't need the stylus my friend.
Hard Reset : Switch Off the phone, hold call + endcall and power button.
Boot Loader : Switch off the phone, Hold Vol Down + power button.
cheers
^ What he said. I just hard reset the other day using this method, worked like a charm
Any way to reset the phone when it's locked up without taking the cover off?
After devunlocking last night, now my phone is messed up
The problem is the back, windows and search button no longer work, the portion of the screen that they take up is now like an extension of thescreen it just selects stuff as if it were at the bottom of the screen. Any help to reset all the files in root to factory, I tried to hard reset and soft reset.
Maybe I screwed up the registry or some files. Thanks for any help
try factory reset. hold camera + volume down + power. when phone vibrate release power button while holding the other 2 buttons. should prompt you to reset your phone. hope that works
Thx
I tried that but it enters USB Host mode, I also tried holding down up and down volume and power button to reset which resets it but doesn'tfixmy problem. it's acting like the part of the screen where the windows, search and back button are are now part of the regular screen and those 3 buttons no longer do anything.
This sounds rather like a hardware error. Your calibration of the touchscreen is messed up. I suggest you send it in. You still should have warranty?!
Btw. I don't think this has a connection to unlocking the phone!
If the phone hasn't been tampered with physically, it should be enough to just sync it without re-unlocking it, and it should be locked again.
Thx
I got a new one on the way. I didn't delete any files or regedit a bunch of stuff just a standard dev unlock and it started acting squirrly.
My touch screen stopped responding and the Acer tech had me factory reset the device. The instructions are as follows:
1) Place the rotation lock switch in the up position
2) Press and hold the Volume down button, which is located farthest from the rotation lock
3) With the Volume down button held, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds then release it. Continue holding the Volume down button.
4) Once the tablet vibrates, switch the rotation lock on and off repeatedly while still holding the Volume down button.
5) Release the Volume down button and stop switching the rotation lock once the "Erasing Userdata..." message appears in the upper left corner of the screen
6) Once the factory reset has been completed your tablet will load to the Welcome screen.
Before it is asked, YES you will loose your data. Yes, you will loose root. The tablet will be restored to defaults.
Did this fix your touchscreen issue? I haven't experienced it yet but its good to know if it did.
