device not connecting to active sync - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Greetings,
Ok my device does not connect to activesync via usb but it charges and everything else goes well, so i thought that the connector has some fault and i gave it to service station and they said they changed the connector and it is fixed now, but now it doesnt connect i dont know whats the fault, now i think it is due to the rom, coz from when i flashed the shcaps 3.54c i cannot connect before that it was normal.
So is there any other way i can see if the connector is ok.

Don't know if they fooled U
but this is AFAIK related to the rom. Had the same problem overnight
and some others also had, so I remembered about this issue and posted.
Never needed this function (Advanced....), so what...
Nice that it worked.

Thanks!!!
Was getting headaches about this issue to the point that I wanted to throw my wizard out of the window...

Have you turned on visability on your handset in the BT options?

BraveSoul HTC Sync

After installing this wonderful new ROM BraveSoul, i have noticed that my computer no longer pick up my phone, or my phone doesent ask what type of connection i want "Disk Drive, Internet Shareing, HTC Sync etc...." i tryed doing it through the settings and still doesent work. Has anyone else got this problem? or know any workaround to this?
P.S I tryed with the usb debugging on and off and still no luck
Thanks.
I'm afraid that it sounds like you are USB bricked.
See here for more details.
If this is the case, I'm afraid that there isn't a fix as of yet.

I don't think it is because it charges fine which is good. Just had another reply saying to disable Ask what type of connection I want which I will try later. I will post back later to see if that works

Sorry - I rather assumed that if you knew enough to flash a new ROM, you'd know how to change the setting to ask what you want to do when connected to USB.
That being said, if you were USB bricked, you'd still be able to charge via USB.

S3 suddenly stopped being able to connect to computers

Hi there,
Not sure if anybody else has experienced this. Suddenly my S3 stopped being able to be recognized as a device by any computer. It will charge when plugged into USB. I have checked and fast charge isn't turned on. I have uninstalled the drivers from all my computers, I've tried this on a mac and a PC.
I'm on Task's AOKP Rom. But I have tried other Roms and the problem still persists. So I'm thinking it's a problem with my S3. Right now it's very annoying in that I have to always pop out my SD card to transfer files to my phone.

Did you check the oil?
Edit: I'm joking haha. But you might want to try another cable. It's almost always the cable.
The fact that you changed ROMs makes this less likely, but maybe you have a kernel that has Fast Charge on?

Strange, I remember seeing that option on the stock TW rom, but I can't seem to find it in Task's AOKP rom, I noticed you're on AOKP too, would you mind giving a bit more detail on where that option is?
I know this isn't the perfect solution, but if you ever get yourself into a situation where the wire won't work and you really need to transfer files and you're on reliable wifi give AirDroid a try. Free app, that allows you to transfer files from a web browser. Saved me many many times. Sorry I can't help with the original issue!

I had the same problem with my stock/rooted ATT s3. Tried a multitude of cables and settings, but what finally worked was a bit of advice from another site. Power the phone off, pull the SD card, and try again. For me this worked. I do not have a good explanation why, but it ended a good bit of frustration.
Good luck to you.
Tried this and other -- nothing works

I've been having the same trouble, and tried this and other "fixes" (like in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2049834) but nothing seems to work.
My situation is perhaps a little different, but this is what I know:
New Rogers SGS3 (I747M) - never rooted, or anything fancy
Plugged it into Kies the first time, and told me there was a Jelly Bean update
Did the update.
Now no computer will detect it - 2 PCs and a MAC.
I've installed and uninstalled drivers off and on for weeks
Tried Odin mode and Odin on 2 PCs
Doesn't even show up in the Windows Device list.
ADB doesn't see it (I assume because the driver doesn't see it)
Nada.
I only have one cable - the one that came with it.
People often talk of making sure it's in MTP mode, but I have no USB settings in my "settings" (JB is different?) though I think I can set it through the PhoneUtil suggested in the link above.
Created an account here (and watched the Noob video!) just to ask this question. All I can think of is that I must have broken something on the phone. Does anyone have any more suggestions or should I just take the phone back to Rogers and say it's broken?
Thanks a bunch!
Ian
Uninstall Kies
Uninstall Drivers
Reboot
Hook up the phone and let Windows Update get whatever drivers it can. It won't get them all
Unhook phone
Install the I747 drivers
Do NOT install Kies
Hook da fone back up
Still nothing

First and foremost - thanks.
But nothing happens. Uninstalled everything AND used the registry editor to get rid of everything "Samsung" and "Kies". I've now noticed, that I don't even get the windows "da-dump" when you plug a USB device in.
It seems there are no SGH-I747M specific drivers (are there?), just the "Samsung USB driver for mobile phones". Is that right?
So, I'm still stuck. The thing charges, but NOTHING else.
Any more ideas?

Thanks. The server you pointed to seems to be down though so I got them from canman.konnekerville.com/ d2att/Rooting/ATT_I747_GSIII_Samsung_USB_Driver_v1_4_6_0.exe
No change when I plug the phone in.
In the mean time, I tried looking at the connectors on the cable and in the phone and tried cleaning them up. Still nothing.
I think it's gonna have to go back to Rogers....

YOU sir are no geek. Only 1 cable? They are a dime a dozen now days. Even AT&T gave me a free one the other day. The good thing is that your back up and running. Again, why is it that it is most always the smallest thing that causes the biggest head ache?

Thanks for the response but that didnt seem to help.
I'm curious if its a hardware issue or something else. I've restored a backup i had to see if that helped but nothing. If i return to stock unrooted will that help? Or does someone have an idea as to why and how to fix this? Thanks for any help.
No idea. I did some searches for something like "android stuck usb charge only" and came up with the below. Some folks said that they were able to fix it, though not permanently, by wiping. The above seemed to work for some, though again, not permanently. I wasn't able to find anything else.
Did you try connecting to other PC's?
Did you try removing the device from your PC's device manager, uninstall the driver, then reinstall the driver and reconnect?
I agree it seems hardware'ish because it's also a problem with the MHL cord, too. I wish I could help more, but there's not much out there about being stuck in charge only mode.
Are you still under Manufacterer's warranty? Maybe that can be returned because it won't mount.?

Dont have another PC so that option cant be tested now. I removed the device and unistalled/reinstalled drivers and nothing.
Warranty is not an option because its past due. I do have insurance but am afraid of not getting an OG in return and i dont know how all that works to be honest.
I am willing to return to stock but only one concern i have is losing all my data. How do i backup pics and documents without being able to connect to pc? PLEASE can someone show me the way. Thanks again for all responses.

I'm using the original USB cable.
Now I'm using LGNPST but i cant get it to recognize my phone. IDK what else to do.
Have you tried different drivers yet? There's 3 of them here.

Let's hope this'll work for you.

I started having this problem after installing the latest LG drivers. Replicated the issue on 3 different Windows 7 PCs. 1 32-bit home-built, 1 64-bit Gateway laptop with OEM image, 1 64-bit HP Laptop with work image.
Before upgrading, phone connects fine with in both MTP & PTP modes just using built-in (or pulled from WU) drivers. After upgrading to LG drivers, PC no longer detects the phone. Uninstalling the drivers or going backwards to earlier versions does not fix the problem.
Again, thanks to everyone for their responses, I really appreciate it. But unfortunately nothing seems to be helping my issue. I'm going by my wife's job to hook up to her computer to see if hers can recognize my phone, well at least I hope.
One thing I ask of someone, I've been using Arliberator to connect to my radio. Maybe someone has more knowledge than me to help.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5reWxlLmFybGliZXJhdG9yIl0.
Anyways, it has an option under settings to "fix drivers" which I have no idea what it does so i never messed with it. Except for when it wouldnt connect to the radio, I pressed it. Could that have anything to do with it not connecting to pc? I've emailed the dev of this app but have gotten no response as to what it does.
I'm really at a loss here as I can still use my phone but not to its full potential. Its frustrating because I cant even return to stock to see if it will fix my issue. Is there any other way to return to stock without a pc? Like can i flash a stock RUU? I ask because I once had an Evo 4g and was able to do it that way.
Again, thanks to everyone's responses.
I finally heard from the dev of ARLiberator and he guarantees me his app has nothing to do with my phone and that the "fix drivers" is for the app only. He says to try and reset my phone to try and solve my issue. But wouldn't that completely erase my phone?
Idk how I got here...
