I purchased this week a t mobile version of HTC artemis. as far as i know t mobile locks their phone, therefore i had searched XDA-DEV.. to find a free unlocking method apparently with no results. the only thing i found is method using a tool called SimLockTool_Artemis_Excalibur. As i understand many people looked and asked for that tool and because i found it somehow i just copy and paste link for those who still looking for it. Because i haven't got the device yet please report in any case of testing it.
Enjoy!

This tool doesn't work. For that Info you just have to read the last Page of the toppic you linked...
Greets!
...<>...
This tool had been released by htc and its purpose is to lock your device by changing the IMEI but it also gives you the UNLOCK code for the specific IMEI.
I haven't test the tool yet cause i did not receive my device.
There is one thing that they haven't test yet, it says that you need to use the customized htc card which no one had to that.

...and that's why it doesnt work (for us). we know what the tool is doing. but no one managed to run it from sdcard so far.
sd card
does anyone have any idea where to get that card?. i mean do you get it with htc p3300(not xda orbit mda compact 3 or any other versions)?

nope, i tried with unbranded devices from england and switzerland with the same results as with my orange branded device. the program isnt doing anything. maybe their hardware checks for some code file or something that has to be on the card. or even a special type of hardware... i gave up for now
Can you please tell me which files you copy to your sd card?
Copy only the Artediag and the diagdata. DoNOT copy the cstdata into the card and also remove it from the directory which the .exe file is.
just a thought that i made it may works.
Sorry did not receive my device yet...
it doesnt work. btw, if you read the manual, it says "Insert the HTC customized key card into SD card reader".
further down it says "After this process, you will find a cstdata.dat file into the key card".
i dont think that a normal SD card will work. i can only guess that they delivered those special "key" cards to the providers.
i found some information about the sd card bootloader of htc wallaby of on the net i like to share it with you and see if you could get something ou of it.
http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/xda/wallaby-bootloader.html
have a look around the links and there some toolls that may be usefull.
The Sim Unlocktool for the Artemis is only to LOCK the device.. not to UNLOCK..
Thats SOMEHOW..... TRUE.... but it provides a known unlock code...

why not YOU try to get something out of it? how many times do we have to tell you, it doesn't work. many in the artemis forum have already tried this tool and nobody got it to work. we don't need info about sd card bootloader of htc wallaby coz we also have our own info about sd card bootloader of htc artemis in the wiki page of this forum.
read my first post and you will see why i do not try the information i found.
did i got you upset with my post? if yes sorry m8 but the problem is not on me

yes, i've read your first post... and my answer is, you should wait for your device so you could try this tool for yourself, since you don't seem to believe those who've said it doesn't work.
and, it's quite funny that you asked me to read your first post, when you're the one who's not really been reading posts in this forum. coz if you've been reading posts yourself, you'll find that this tool has been discusses MANY times in not just one, but several threads as well. and in all of these threads, it's been said that NOBODY got this tool to work. and starting another thread doesn't change that.
@redski Maybe all this you saying is due to the fact that i haven't got my device yet and not test the tool my self. I really need to hope that there is a method to unlock artemis, i do not care about the money 30 dollars in our days is not enough to buy cigarettes , i just like to it my self. About what you said that i do not read the post in this forum, thats not true, see how many post i have and i am a member almost a year now. I never post a thread to resolve an issue that i have without research.
we would all be happy if you find a way to make this work (once you get your device). i personally wont further try it until i see really new facts. there are highly competent people in this forum who tried this with no success. who would i be if i'd think i can make it run

yes, we know you already said that. but when i said NOBODY i meant those from this forum. unless you know somebody from this forum who got it to work?
and that's another problem we all have... the original htc card, which none of us have. that's why we can't get it to work.

I've heard talk of people flashing roms using SD Cards from a rom dump.
Has anyone been able to do this for wm 6.0<
i want to find a way of upgrading my rom cos the one i use at the moment is a bit tempremental.
I can't install a rom update via usb because my usb connector is broken and doesn't connect to the pc. I just paid £109 for the screen to be replaced so don't fancy spending more on it seeing my contract is nearly up.
PRLEEEESEEE help. x
Housemate just got VARIO II - I'm itching to upgrade that but she won't let me.
at first what pda U've got? this is not universal forum (for all devices) but for HTC Universal(jasjar, o2 exec....).
if UR speaking about universal as far as i know noone was able to flash trough SD card yet.
If U need 2 flash other device try to search proper forum
i have the htc universal t-mobile mda pro
As far as I know this isn't possible as the ROM contains drivers for the SD slot, so it can't read the SD slot during a flash... think that's right.
Thanks. i think i read about a guy who bought a universal on ebay which was supposed to be new but had call history. the reply to why it had call history was that they did a rom dump as it was the easiest way to change the language. that's why i thought i'd ask the question.

First of all sorry if I´m doing things better not to do.
...but i´ve the problem that i´ve lost my 4gb internal storage. i think i did everything to get it back. but it did´t appear yet. it neither can´t be recognized by my pc as external storage device nor by the diamond itself as internal storage. i tried to farmat the storage and i flashed 3 different roms. nothing.
now i decided to to try it with warranty at o2. i put back the original rom from the o2 homepage.
is there anything that they can figure out that i did hardspl?
i do not remember if it was a unsinged or singed hardspl! is there any diference?
...so please if there is a god...tell me were my 4gbs are or what i can do to get them back...or that they can fix it as warranty case.

p.s. sorry for my english but i think you know what i mean.....
You need to flash the original SPL otherwise it can be expensive when sending back to o2 ...!
Search the Diamond section for SoftSPL and "Original SPL for warranty"! Hope it helps you a little bit!

Hi,
I've seen a couple of threads about users who had the same problem & they managed to fix it so as their 4gb storage was working/ showing up again.
So I dont think you need to go as far as sending it back for warranty.
Try searching the diamond forums & you should find at least 1 of the threads & read it & it should help, you should be able to fix this yourself m8
Hope this helps

I've been looking for a HardSPL for my CDMA Touch Dual (Neon400/P5310) for a while and it doesn't look like it's coming. It seems that there is nobody skilled enough with access to the phone to unlock it.
I have access to the phone, and I have some tech skills, just not in this particular department.
Can anybody point me to a guide for unlocking the CID on phones so that I can start learning how to do this? Otherwise, can somebody guide me or give me some tips on how to begin?
I would be greatly appreciative.
Unfortunatly the NEON400 CDMA is the bastard child of a Nike and a Diamond on a hot drunken night.
Since this phone is really only available in Canada to Telus and Bell (I've also heard Asia but can't confirm), that really limits the number of developers who can work on it.
Hang in there buddy and keep searching (which so far I've done weekly without any results)
Did you try Goldcard? If it works, you'll be able to flash official ROMs for other CIDs (if any are available).

Could you explain Goldcard a little more? I haven't heard of it. Wait, is it a SIM card thing? the NEON400 is a CDMA phone.
Check the wiki; I've never used one myself, but it's some sort of patch you put on your sd card that allows you to flash a stock rom from another carrier off of your sd card. You need to use QMAT or something like that to make the gold card. Just do some searching, but it may not be all that straightforward (big surprise, huh?).

Yeah, I looked into it and I have downloaded QMAT. I feel that I'm in WAAAY over my head here.
Also, I don't want a stock ROM, I want a custom ROM.
Can anybody tell me what is required to make a HardSPL install? If I dump a ROM from my phone, can somebody do something with that?

You pretty much have to be a hacker extraordinaire to write a hard spl. Just get the gold card to work and live with a stock rom. A stock HTC would probably be fine; I don't think that they are loaded with bloatware the way carrier roms are.

I've never seen a stock HTC ROM. Just the ones that the carriers give out. Where does one find a stock HTC ROM?
I have just purchased a P5310 on EBAY
HTC appears to have a generic rom but requires a SN to access it (which i dont have yet)
if it is available please post it here.
Help: Is it possible to flash android OS without use of an SD Card? SD slot isnt working in my kaiser due to flex problem..reading through the help guide..seems impossible to proceed with the NAND due to use of SD card..thanks
I haven't seen anyone do that yet, but I'm sure something could be worked out. The problem is if you were to get "androidinstall.tar" directly on the NAND, there would be almost no room left for the install to take place.
not possible yet,

It's nice that you are trying to be helpful but please at least READ the message before making a post. The op indicated he could not do a normal install because his SD slot is broken therefore pointing him to the tutorial that requires using a sd slot makes no sense.
You can't do it, i already answer to this question in another thread!

Thanks for the replies and for the one who defended..am no starter for flashing roms though..and i know how to search..was just asking if its possible..felt sorry for my poor old kaisier..

I apologize for my work computer being stupid. I was replying to another thread and it posted it here. Was wondering where it went and now I know...lol.
Work computers running XP and IE7 no less, lots of page refresh issues.
after some research unrevoked3 seems to be the easiest way to root my HTC Desire.
but there are no instructions on how to use it... i know you just download the software and install the drivers etc... but i mean what state does it leave my phone in?
will it have all of its text messages saved, settings saved, etc...
will my sd card be wiped completely should i back it up? should i buy a cheap one to root it with etc...
i know 2.3 is coming out soon for HTC Desire but my phones branded with vodafone. should i just debrand it and wait for an offical update?
ive been wanting to root my phone for a while but ive got no idea which roms are best or anything.
how do i back up my sd card? how do i save my texts to the sd card for back up?
any help will be appreciated thanks.
Hi welcome to the site. There is a wealth of information in these forums and sometimes it is hard to single out exactly what you are looking for. Read this to start and then ask some specific questions. Seek much advice before rooting yourself.
i was there 3 months ago and now i flash and customise with reckless abandonment!
Unrevoked3 is definitely the easiest way. You can find quick guide for this method in Cyanogenmod wiki 'Full Update Guide' (google it)...
hi , just follow these vids , it makes it really easy

No. You might do yourself a favor by creating a goldcard and keeping it safe.
