Hi, I am on B&B since 3.7, great rom.
I just have one question, I am in France with SFR.
I found an SFR.cab file to enable MMS recieving, the thing
is that my device always tries to connect to GPRS to collect
mails, msn and otjer stuff that I usualy do threw WI-FI.
Can anyone explaine me how to recieve MMS and only MMS threw GPRS
and continue using my WI-FI for all the other stuff?
Thanks in advance
i just deleted the "Internet" gprs profile to stop my device from connecting via gprs.
however, even with that profile, when WLAN is connected, my device never uses gprs to connect to mail/internet/whatever.
thanks soardiac but can you still recieve MMS or did you decide to forget about it?
heh, actually i hate mms and deleted all gprs profiles
but...of course i first tested if mms still work. i had 2 gprs profiles: 1 for mms, one for internet. i only deleted the "internet" one and had no problems sending or retrieveing mms.
EDIT: do it on your own risk!
thanks man, i'll try it then...
thanks again

Hi
Having fun with MMS messages now. If wifi is turned on, neither the send or recieve of an MMS message works. Have to switch off wifi before I can get anywhere! Anyone else suffer this?
Now, having switched off Wifi, I try and download an MMS message and it comes up with a box asking for a password for 'o2wap' this, it gets (the password is 'password' according to O2). It then promptly fails to connect.
In order to send MMS messages, I have to go into the connection settings dialogue and on the advanced tab -> Select Networks option, and change both the 'Internet' and 'Work' boxes to 'MMS Network'.
Then I can send recieve, and afterwards, I have to set them back such that GPRS internet access is again possible, and re-enable wifi.
What a ball ache!!! Should be automatic - user wants to send/recieve MMS, device connects up the right comms profile, gets does the MMS send/recieve, and then resets the comms profile to what it was beforehand!!
Its not rocket science!

Hi
I can send MMS, but i con not recive them, just waiting for )2 to get back to me.
Been having probs with MMS recently - can't recieve or send. Same for a friend on O2. Wonder if perhaps O2 has technical issues?
Had thought it was a settings problem following a hard reset, but settings should have synced.
HI!
Quick question....
Browse the internet is working fine.. but: Why can´t I use my mail when I´m connected to WIFI?
When I try to get my mail, GPRS automaticlly connects....
Any suggestions?

I have not tried it myself, but I read somewhere that it has something to do with the smtp server settings in your mail program. Apparently now it is configured to use the gprs connection. If you would change the smtp server settings to the one used by your internet provider, you should be able to get the mail through wifi.
A friend of mine sent me a MMS Message, but i am unable to retrieve it and it keeps turning on my GPRS automatically. So now i have 15 MMS Messages in my inbox which i am unable to view? Anyone have an ideas? He is on T-mobile and i am on O2?
there are two places to configure MMs
1- O2 setting for MMS
2-O2 GPRS for Data connection
1- click on you message on today screen- menu-tools-optionsclick on MMS-servers-click o2 mmsc ( this is No1. setting) after finish make it default.
2- start-setting-connections-conncetions- manage connection make sure is correct setting for o2 wap server. if that comes under my isp you should select my isp in above MMS server setting to connect to.
check setting from here

Hi, I'm running the Kavana ROM, it works fine except I can't send or receive IMAP e-mail through USB.
I'm on T-Mobile prepaid, no EDGE or GPRS for me; I just want to check my e-mail over Wi-Fi or through USB. Internet Explorer works fine so data is getting through. But when I set my e-mail it says 'error synchronzing' straight away.
any ideas...? I delete all the connections (under settings, connections, GPRS) so as to try and not confuse the device. IE still working but no e-mail.
this is really frustrating and I've spent a long time looking for a solution, without success. Can anyone help...?
thanks!

You would have to use Outlook to grab your email then when you plug in your device it will sync the email from Outlook to your device.
Thanks for the reply. It actually started to work by itself...I think all I did was enable and then disable the advanced USB functionality somewhere in the options.
No need to use Outlook, I just pick up mail directly from my server. I hate Outlook and now use Thunderbird on my PC. This, in combination with https://www.nuevasync.com/ means I am finally free from having to sync with Windows!
Pls, HELP

Hi Richard, I am facing this same issue. It was working great but suddenly stop working
Do you remenber what exactly u did?
Thanks in advance
Can't remember - sorry! :-(
now with a wm6.1 rom on my Hermes, messaging text, MMS, and hotmail working over MEdia Net just fine with no errors when doing Send or Receive.
This is not the case for my POP3 internet mail over MEdia Net (AT&T). When I do a send receive I get messaging telling me it error synchronizing, and data connection tells me it can not connect.
Now if I am logged into my home WiFi, I have no problem logging into my POP3 account, and can send receive freely.
I need to be able to get my POP3 email through the MEdia Net data connection, what do i need to do to make it work. I have tried every thing i know. Just do not know what i am missing. thanks for you help ahead of time.

I have had this same issue when I flashed my phone to a "non-standard" AT&T ROM. The issue seems to be in the proxy settings. Download the attached file and run it on your device. It will correct the registry settings for your phone. It also creates the Proxy Manager folder on your device. Also verify that your Media Net settings are correct.

Thanks. do not know what it fixed internally, but it worked, messaging is send receiving on the pop3 now through MEdia Net. Thanks
If you are computer guy you should know what proxy means.
