Changeout screen from Wallaby to Himalaya ?

Does anyone know if the screen out of a Wallaby (O2 XDA) is compatible with the one in a Himalaya. I am looking to purchase a Himalaya with a busted touchscreen and pull the screen from my ful functional Wallaby to replace it.
Thanks in Advance folks.

re
Thanks for the link however this is more about swapping between totally different devices not ones from the same manufacturer.
Incidentally I have had a look at switching from an iPAQ 3660 to the wallaby - no good different screen size and different connector.
Hopefully swapping between two older HTC devices would be a little more straight forward.

Qtek 1010 mainboard dead

trying to find parts for my Qtek 1010 and I find it very difficult does this PDA have another technical name? A car charger adaptor for an Ipaq was connected to it although the same connector it is not wired the same so i was tols i killed the mainboard. Is this PDA unrepairable were can i buy a used one?
hope someone can assist my predicament.....Bigdin
the device is also known as
htc Wallaby / O2 Xda / Qtek 1010 / Qtek 1020 / Siemens SX56 / T-Mobile MDA/ Dopod 686

Bigdin,
The XDA I (Qtek 1010) and HP iPAQ 22 pin connectors are definitely wired differently.. But a brief connection of the iPAQ one shouldn't do too much damage.. That said.. The old XDAI mainboards are very cheap now (or grab a unit on eBay with a failed scren and DIY it)..
Last time we grabbed a new mainboard it was around $200 for a fully tested / guaranteed one.
Realistically though, it may be time to upgrade to a good, new / cheap little PDA like the HTC Touch..

Your Qtek's battery is probably in need of a replacement.. then there's the PPC 2002 ROM (or the rather flakey cooked ones around)..
Good luck with the dilemma..

Replace LCD / touch screen layer on Touch Cruise?

Hi guys,
After taking the protective film off my screen 'cos it was all scratched and dirty, i've now got the actual screen itself all scratched...
can somone confirm - the actual scratched area is the layer UNDER where the protective film would be (if I still had it on) - it's the actual casing / screen itself.... is this the "touch screen" layer, or the LCD itself?
Either way, does anyone know where I can get a replacement screen, roughly how much they cost, and how difficult it is to fit?
Thanks...

f-s pocket loox screen fits executive?

hi guys is my first post at the forum although i been following it quite a lot .Recently i broke my lcd screen of my exec (bought it recently and very impresed by it,).The screens as i saw on the internet are quite expensive and then i came at this site that says that fujitsu siemens pocket loox practically has the same screen as the exec.I want to confirm that with you(that i put the screen of the loox at the exec ) plus if the ram of the pocket loox can be placed at the exec (to buy the pocket loox 2nd hand is cheaper than buying just a screen for the exec ) .And if can somebody reccomend other brands that have identical sceen .Thanks
Welcome to forums
Not sure if it will fit to Universal, but if it´s so expensive perhaps it´s better if you buy another Universal, have a look on this section and in marketplace, I saw to members selling their Unis
Good luck,
thanks for your reply that is what i had found at the description of the lcd screen of the site :<ITEM description -Fit for:ACX526AKM-7 LCD Screen( with Touch Screen Digitizer ) for Orange SPV M5000/HTC Universal/ Vodafone v1640 / Vodafone VPA IV/ E-Plus PDA IV/ Grundig GR980/ O2 XDA Exec/ Dopod D900/ Fujitsu-Siemens LOOX 718/ i-mate Jasjar/ Qtek 9000 T-Mobile MDA IV/MDA pro / Fujitsu-Siemens LOOX 720 -OEM and Brand new>
checked the technical data of the screen of the pocket loox 718-720 and it seems identical as the executive (dont know about the memory though)
