i have copy getdevicedata on Secure Digital and i put sd in ppc. I open this file from ppc and it lock on boot loader. Now appear "serial" or "usb" if is connect on cradle. I try to reset, hard reset but anything is happened. Please help me, what can i do?

I've purchased O2 XDA Zinc in Arabian. I'm living in Russia now.
When I open the box, get the PDA and turn them on I've got screen like this:
mars II eboot ver......
h/w version v1.4
******** usb loader ***********
diskonchip g4 128mb
start downloading image...
please plug-in usb cable...
And that's all... Now I can't go to Arabian to change my PDA and there is no service center that can fix it in Russia
I tried soft and hard reset and no effect.
When I connect PDA to PC the new hardware "Asus USB sync" appear in system, but Active Sync does not recognise them (I have 4.5 version).
All o2 zinc upgrade software are working with active sync and available os and i can't use them.
I've extracted binary filles from update exe, larger of it i've rename to MarsII_G4.ABI and put it on SD. But after insterting card and restarting nothing happens.
I also have some knowledge of elelectronic.
So, please help, how can I fix my PDA?

find another ppc first
find a dos app and rename it to devicespy.exe and make it readonly
transfer it to windows directory of other ppc and plug it to pc via mini usb and activesync 4.5
download and run any zinc rom from seeo2
if you did it well the upgrade software cant recognize the device type so continue update progres until your ppc get reset.
replace that ppc with your zinc and update will continue to end and your zinc will be fin.
choose any lang you wish.
You'd better visit www.seeO2.com
and register with your IMEI.
Then you can download WM5 or WM6 official rom.

i do really need help for reviving my dead o2 zinc.
it is suddenly dead wen connected to notebook via activesync.
yes.. it is SUDDENLY DEAD.
i'm doing nothing.
i have been trying to entering bootloader (by pressing right d-pad plus soft reset), but the bootloader doesn't show up.
doing hard reset, but nothing happen. still dead.
one thing that works is...
there is blinking orange LED when i connected zinc with wall charger (without battery inserted)
and there is orange LED (showing up about 3-5 secs) when i connected zinc with wall charger (with battery inserted)
anyone can help me solving this?

I connect my qtek with pc. I tried to install wwe rom - from german to english. I ws downloaded english rom but cant install coz i have problem with COUNTRY ERROR -ERROR 120 atfer that i install in qtek "MaUpgradeUt_noID".exe and after that my qtek go to hell.
when i done hard reset on the screen write only: Serial and v1.00!!!!
..............qtek is dead...................

Try to download "Exit Bootloader.exe" from wiki, conect the uni to USB and Run the applcation...
If you uni is death when the Bootloader is lost. I brick my Jasjar when the Bootloader was gone, dont worry Try to read more in the forum Universal WM6.

My Problem is, that i can only choose Com 1 to Com 3 in mtty 1.42 - Because of this i can't use the methode which is explained. - What i am making wrong? - I use a Sony Vaio Laptop for booting...

if you have the rom try tis out!
1.unzip the file!
2.put the rom-extended rom-radio(or whatever you need!) in this folder
3.when you'll connect the phone on the usb,on the screen you have to see "usb v1.01".
4.run the "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe"
5.wait till it will finish flashing!!
6.enjoy the new rom!!

please big help / i just try to change language on my qtek 9000 and when the phone finish. and the screen freeze. and i off it and on it .and still the display show but freezing. and it can't connect to the active sync and pc /please help
Try a soft-reset first.
If not, you may have to hard-reset. You will lose all your data and programs you've installed and it will revert to factory state (or last flashed ROM).

I was using Newplow's WM6 038 ROM with my N560.
Yesterday I tried to write another ROM(WM6 038 with 8MB pagepool) but during update got an error.. It said it just failed.
Now my N560 is stuck on booting screen(people climbing mountain..)
I tried Warm, Cold, Hard reset but with no luck.
Even the power button doesn't work so I had to remove battery. When I insert battery it powers on by itself.
I can enter bootloader screen by pushing power+record button so I tried to copy rom image file to SD card but it doesn't work.
I tried two ROMs(OS_213U.nbf from Original WM5 ROM and Newplow's) and 3 SD Cards(2GB SD, 1GB MicroSD with Adopter, 16GB SDHC)
Is there any recovery tutorial in bootloader mode?

Have you tried flashing a ROM through the computer rather than the memory card? Try going into bootloader and flashing that way rather than the card.
The pagepool ROM is meant for N560s that have been upgraded to 128Mb RAM... have you upgraded the internal RAM to 128Mb? If you have not, then this may have caused your problem.
I had this problem when flashing to 038 normal RAM (from 035). A hard reset reset to the normal start screen, but nothing worked. However, trying a new burn with the Loox flash tool restarted the process and it worked. I found the cure was to make sure you hard reset the N560 before doing a burn. It appears to be that you have to do this to release enough RAM for the burn program to reside and for "working" storage. You may not have done this.
I suggest you try simply re-running the flashtool with SD/SDHC cards removed, battery in place, on the cradle via your PC, even though it appears stuck. The signals coming from the USB link may wake up the bootloader routine in the N560?

Hi all,
I have the same problem. N560 is stick on the himalaya picture. I tried to falsh from WM5 to new rom for Wm6 and after installation the pda stuked. So I did a warm reset and now only the start picture is apperaing. Problem is that battery is down now.
Can someone give more info on the process followed to revive the PDA ? I just cannont read russian (may be Jinsu77 ?)

It was me asking on Newplow's guestbook.
In case you're using Vista, you need some trick to be able to rom update. Read below.

And then you need to download MTTY (I used version 1.42, got it by googling) and follow below steps.

For rom update without ActiveSync.
1) take this set of extract, copy it to the folder with the firmware.
2) copy the file os_213u.nbf example in C: \
3) You press the button Recorder + food and poke in the hole reset (Recorder button and hold until you eat dolphins)
4) plug the device to a PC, the Task Manager, shooting process - wcescomm.exe
5) Run mtty, choose Port: USB, connect.
6) If mtty caused an error and shut down, simply restart mtty, if not typed commands, then repeat the procedure with paragraph 3.

after without change anything i run the PocketLOOX5xxFlashTool that i have in the same folder with the :

and the only thing i can see is that the PocketLOOX5xxFlashTool is trying to find the pda without any luck
also the pda is stucked in the same screen with the dolphins and the blue bar

I close the wcescomm.exe and the rapimgr.exe is there anything else?
The pocket LOOX 5xx FlashTool cant connect with the N560 and at the and says that Error"The language in this Flash Image update (ENGLISH) differs from that on your device()!" and i have always english rom exept maybe from the last rom "the killer" with the 128MB rom that i dont know if it is an english or something else because the device never opens to see
After flashing in MTTY(don't care about error messages), you need to unplug your n560 from PC. And then proceed romupdate until you see the dolphin picture. Now you plug n560 to PC and cilck next and wait for a while.. Hope it works!

At all they have Probs with flash from SD Card: only use a Card with 512MB! I think a Card greater then can't read by the Bootloader....

i am compeletly new here. I have the same with my n560. I tried to upgrade to 128mb but after restart I see only climbing. I tried everything here but on dolphins afterr line is blue it is finished. that I am unpluging device. starting looxflastool for 560 and first is trying to connect by active sync and that when no connection made I see dolphins on left screen of flash tool window. than I am pluging again and after couple secs I see that: Error"The language in this Flash Image update (ENGLISH) differs from that on your device. I tried to change rom on every language but not working as well. PLEASE HELP
if that helps than i will add than on top when delfins i see on 560 is two lines. first is typed 2.14.G4 on second directly below is 2.15.

You can usually get back to the boot loader if you do a hard reset. I am sure you know how, if not you will find it in the FSC CDROM manual that came with the device. Let us know if this works? I have got stuck at this point too, so I know it works..... hopefully!
Hi I'm a new user and just got my hx4700 2nd hand and need some help flashing the hx4700 to wm6.1 Its wm5 right now. First I tried the normal way of flashing but when I couldn't get the ipaq to sync with the comp. I installed activesync but when I connected the cradle and ipaq nothing happens, only a new hardware found asking for software to install "Hp rndis sync". I tried installing automatically with the cd in the drive but it couldn't find any software and i couldn't get the ipaq to connect to the desktop.
So I tried using the SD card to flash the ipaq instead. I tried using both the SD_IMG program and All Image to copy the rom onto the SD card but when I go into bootloader mode all it showed was the HP logo, the version at the bottom, and the text Serial at the top. Nothing else happened.
Someone help please. I'd really wanted to get it to wm6.1 asap. Thanks in advance.
Ah solved the problem. I was using the cd that came with the ipaq. Tried the wm5 upgrade CD and it updated activesync to 4.1 and now activesync works fine. Am flashing to wm6.1 as I'm typing this Can't wait.
Btw should I be seeing anything while the files upload to the ipaq?
Ok now I'm faced with another problem. The moment the files are supposed to upload to the ipaq, and the small little window that comes out and say files should start uploading or something like that, the window behind which is supposed to have some text, hangs with only a letter 'P' and turns "not responding" I tried a soft reset and nothing was flashed yet.
I tried the GUI version of the bootloader and it seems its stucked at 0% complete forever. Doesn't hang like the non GUI version, but still doesn't start flashing either.
