Hello I have a question and not sure if someone could point to a page which has the information I need to get the messages back. I have inbox and inbox.xxxx in the sd and there are lots of megs. I wonder after a new rom how to get them back and if there is a way to merge them all.
Thanks,
Sorry if this topic has been already covered I did not find it.
I haven't actually tried it, but you may want to follow this path:
1. BACKUP YOUR FILES IN THE SD CARD NOW!
2. Remember what you did (registry or what?) to have the mail program to save the mails to SD.
3. Then do the above again in the new ROM.
4. Bingo.

Hi all
From some research i've been doing i think i need to create a ROM image but i'll tell you my problem and let you recomend me a solution.
Basically i need to setup 30 PDA's (XDA Argon's running WM5.0) These PDA's will be running a program called service director and also have TOMTOM installed. What i need to be able to do is be able to create an "image" that i can just copy to each PDA to speed up deployment. It would also be useful should there be any problems in the field with the PDA's that they could just be hard reset back to their modified state after deployment. E.g with Service Director and TomTom installed. I have found out that if i create a folder on a memory card with a directory name of 2577 and put my .cabs in there that they will automatically be installed on insertion of the card. This could also be beneficial to me, but i don't think that it would be robust enough, especially if they drop the device and put their memory card back in after its popped out.
So what do you think my best options would be?
Thanks for any help in advance and if you need any info, just let me know.
Thanks
Andy

do the 2577 option but create an autorun program that installs the cab files and then deletes the 2577 folder, thus it wont re-install when the cab is re-inserted
That's ok, but then the engineer would then have to send the card back to us so that we could set it up again. E.g the card would only allow them to set the software back up once and then they would have to send the PDA back to us for us to reconfigure it should it go wrong again. We can't really afford to do this as they need the PDA to find their next job/update jobs etc and can't really afford to have it sent back to us everytime it goes wrong.
well there is currently no way flashing custom ROM's to the xda argon (HTC Panda?) and wont be until one or more devs get thier hands on one so burining it into the rom isnt an option. the only thing I can think of is to have it ask if you want to install the software when it is inserted rather than doing it automatically.
I didnt think it wouldve been available yet. Oh well, looks like i'll have to make it do it via the memory card for the moment. Like all brilliant companies mine just told me, here's what we want, now go and make it happen! Haha!
I take it the card will need to have some kind of .inf file on it to ask you whether you want to install it or not. I would try it, but my company havent even given me the PDA to play with yet.
All i have is an SPV M500(My own old phone) and knowing my luck, they won't work the same with the software we're using.
In that case, why dont you have the autorun RENAME the folder instead of delete it. Your users should then be able to rename it back in case of need (they should be able to do that!), and do the insert sd card thing.

Why not on original installation have it delete the file from the folder and also have in the same folder a IE web shortcut to the original file on a Company server that would allow them to download the file again into the same folder, assuming they would have an internet connection and the file is not too large to download and you can direct the download to that particular folder?
They could then take out the card and re-insert it to automatically install the program again.
Maybe a poopoo idea, but I guess worth a thought?
Good luck

the autorun folder is the same for all devices with wm5/6 so thats fine and you would haev to write a progra to do it, not an inf.
if you cant do it yourself im sure someone else on the forum wouldnt mind for a modest donation (myself included)

A software called SPB Clone was specifically designed to meet this need:

EDIT: Nevermind, I extracted the RUUInside file and now i see the nbh i need, which is called RUU_signed.nbh. I will rename this and flash via SD.
When i extract the Ship version of the cingular ROM I need to flash (RUU_Hermes_CINGULAR_WWE_3.62.502.3_6275_1.54.07.00_108_UOOS_SVN05_Ship), the large file I think i need is called "RUUInside," and it's about 60 megs and listed as an application. I can't tell for sure if that is the .nbh file i need to rename and put on my card to install the stock ROM via SD card. I am going to have to send my phone back to warranty and can't sync to flash, so i wanted to make sure everything will work right before i have them send me a replacement handset cause i want to wait till i have the new one before i clear the old cause i don't want to lose all my contacts and everything since i can't sync. Thanks in advance
welcome!
nice story!
yep, happy ending! flash away!!
What version of Activesync you running? Should upgrade 4.5 if you haven't already...
Cheers...
Hi All,
I recently installed the latest MightyROM (2-10-10) but now cannot get my Exchange OTA ActiveSync working for my corporate e-mail.
Did some digging, and figured out that the issue is that my corporate Exchange security policy requires both devce and SD card encryption on any devices connecting to OTA ActiveSync.
Further searching revealed that SD card encryption was *removed* from MightyROM starting a few versions back.
I know for sure that my device is missing both encfilt.dll and mencfilt.dll which seem to be required for SD card encryption (the details of which I'm not familiar with).
So the question is: Is there any way at all for me to add SD card encryption back to the ROM, preferably without having to re-flash?
Can I somehow get copies of encfilt.dll and mencfilt.dll and register them on the device?
Any ideas / CABs that might help is greatly appreciated!!
Many thanks in advance.

regsrvceGUI.exe I believe is what you can use to register the .dll files. I however can not get it to copy out of the windows directory...
I did find this reg key and you can try to set it and see if it flies... Remember to do a backup and all that stuff. (I'm not 100% it applies to the SD card or not). And I do not know if you need those two files for it to work so use at your own risk.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Filters\E NCFilt]
'EncryptByDefault'=dword:1 (change from 0 to 1)
Soft reset
I will keep trying to figure out how to remove this file from my device so I can share it with you.
If that doesn't fly, then maybe you need to go back to an earlier rom. ???
Thanks! (for your response here and on PPCgeeks
That reg tweak you posted makes the UI appear like SD encryption is enabled, but it's not actually running (as key files are missing).
You're right, I may have to downgrade my ROM, but hoping there's an easier solution!
Which ROM version are you using?
Thanks.
BTW, when I try to sync without SD Card encryption, I get the 85010013 error code in activesync, which is pretty generic -- not sure if this info helps.
Hoping someone can chime in with more ideas.
I just found this post and was wondering if you solved your problem? I'm getting the same errors but I can't find out how to encrypt the entire handset just the SD card.
Do any of you use this app, and also do you back up its settings ect.. to SD?
I had it on my Epic 4G, and now im using the same SDcard with ET4G, though i can't seem to restore the settings and bookmarks that i saved to my SD card... help? Thank you ! Also, whenever i try to log into my google account through it, it gives me a failure.. lol, i guess its not ready yet then.

my phone reads my card as two different cards. i had to move all the files from tunnybrowser over to the other card before the saved bookmarks could be found.
That's exactly what i found out after i was like .. hmm let me plug in the phone real quick.. Lol, Since the software isn't optimized to work like this, it will read the primary Sdcard.. which is basically the Internalone(non remobeable sdcard) instead of the one you have inserted, so if they update the software, they have to have an option as of where it should be saved, either "mnt/sdcard" (Internal)
or "mnt/sdcard/external_d/ " (External*)..
I feel sad that it is like this, and you can't choose which one is the one you want the phone and apps to read first , but other than that, after moving files and folders here and there, this phone is the ****!
Hello i have need from someone who want to make me a favor and help me.
Im ex Blackstone user and i move to Android.
I did some updates etc and i lost all my contacts from the SIM card and everything.
THe good news is that i still have on my PC a PIMbackup.pib file but its made like binary one..
There is a chance to get my contacts back!!!
WHat i need is someone with WinMo device can do it for one minute.
Just to run Pimbackup on his own Device and to restore the Contacts from the .PIB file i will provide
After this is done just re Backup them again BUT in normal mode without binary etc
in this case the final .pib file will be able to transfer it to a zip .csv file and Put all the contacts back in my SIM card via Gmail
So if somene want to help me will be really thankfull for that its emergency.
The other variant if someone do not want to use HIS device is to do the same procedure with a Windows Mobile Emulator but i don`t know how to work with this and make it to work on my desktop PC i already try several hours to set up everything but just not working
Thanks in advance
Hi
Try rename pib file to zip and open with winrar.
