Yes, just skip customizations as with the prior releases. Non-AT&T users may want to ditch the splash screens, too.

This WM6 ROM for Hermes is brought to you in two variants:
v2.0 "RTM" (CE 5.2.1238 | Build 17745.0.2.3): Based on Schap's 3.30b WWE RTM build.
v2.0h "Hybrid" (CE 5.2.1238 | Build 17913.0.3.0): For those who feel the "RTM" is a step backward, v2.0h comes to the rescue -- a reprise of my renowned v1.0 making it's resurgence with the Hermes RTM CE (XIP grafting by yours truly), freshened apps, 4gb SDHC support, and the v2.0 "look and feel".
Which version should you flash? My recommendation would be to try the "RTM" first unless you're a heavy Bluetooth hands-free user, in which case I'd recommend heading straight for the "Hybrid". Why? Well, some folks feel as if M$ really loused up the BT stack in the RTM while others have not experienced any problems whatsoever. Personally, I'm still on the fence with regard to the RTM... the hands-free does seem to be a bit quirky in the RTM, but the A2DP support is a solid as ever. Repeated cycling of the BT radio also seems to be a bit unpredictable with the RTM.
Bottom line: You decide. For all intents and purposes the ROMs are functionally identical, it's just their internals that differ a bit.
NOTE: These ROMs are Cingular/AT&T optimized. If you're NOT a Cingular/AT&T subscriber, you can still install either variant and simply soft-reset as soon as the customization dialog appears to bypass all things Cingular/AT&T. Then manually perform the setup for your carrier.

Newer build of AM, yes. Far as the BT goes I can tell you it will assuredly work with your 590's. The A2DP quality will knock you flat on your ass, mark it down.

just tried it, actually still trying it for a couple of hours. first glance, seems faster than anything before. but as with all black roms, most probably it is not that stabil. for me, dutty's rom was most stabil so far, and farias rom was the one i liked the most. and ive tried most of them, if not all of them.
no going to schaps, heard nice things about his rom.

I use Custel and I don't think I'll switch but I wanted to say I liked the specs and look of your rom its very nice.
Its based on the 17913.0.3.0 imgfs graft which is a highly reliable collaboration from many chefs. m$ may not beat this from a reliability/performance aspect until they release AKU 1.0

damn right! also this ROM has the newest OEM packages (from roms already leaked) packaged in a modular fashion (ie, OEMapps is split into seperate packages), so you can decompile, remove and recompile to your own liking.
the only reason this work was done in regards to the black project is due to the somewhat broken BT stack and intermitted power consumption issues in the RTM 17745 build. Lets see how this black holds up.

SDHC support is listed under the "changelog" but Black Shadow supports SDHC cards (I am using a 4gb microSDHC with it right now).

Hi, just installed this ROM and now playing around...
I started Media Player and played a 5 minute song. At that point my program memory dropped from 29 Mb to 10 Mb, THAT'S 19 Mb!!!
Is this normal? (could be, never noticed it with other ROMs)
Seems quick so far and I like the boot screen and the audio manager plugin, very nice. Oh, also the touchflo or as some like to call buttonflo works after simply running alpha and sr .

Things I've noticed:
1) HTC Custom crashes when Save is pressed.
2) No strings in new Album app slideshow prefs or image info
3) Camera button busted. No association in Buttons control panel -- no link in applications.
4) Both G and E icons appear in titlebar with 3G connection.

1. not all required fields are set which casues it to crash.
2. Album was not part of the beta it was installed before final release so I will pull it and it should fix all of the issues from 2 on.
New versions w/o Album are uploading now.
1. Filled in all fields I could find. Still crashes.
2. Cool.

I will speak with shadowmite in regards to the crashing, I do not have a hermes to test it on.
PTT ROM is up, non-ptt is uploading now so check back in 30 min.

True, I just prefer bes, I know I can run BES on WM but it's just not the same. Whent he BlackBerry Emulator is released I may move back to a WM device. That and the battery life of the two is no comparison
That is very true with the battery, I have an 8700c for work and it lasts for a week easy....my 8525 charges every night
I guess I don't fully understand the appeal of bes? (not a slam, just don't understand what benefit it has) I use my hermes with a mail2web exchange account and I've never had an issue <shrug>

Give him a chance. Kin0kin is a stickler for doing things the right way.
Right now he is probably writing up the install notes, support notes, etc, that we are all familiar with. Once these are done he will be out with the download links.
I must say, given that stability is my no 1 priority, I tend not to dive into beta roms; however I intend to make an exception for this one, given the rom cookers excellent record for producing quality roms.
Whilst we are waiting, get those backups done and ready. Give your device a quick spit and polish and be ready!

yeah it sucks, for people in the states its not quite as big a deal (att's rates for video calls are very high very few people use video call). Hoping that a updated version comes out soon.
Yes, the video dialer is too buggy. I will also upload the previous touch version which works fine....might even cook 2 different variation...time will tell.
As for the Camera 5, it still doesn't quite work yet everything works fine but it doesn't capture the picture. Will look at it further later.
At the mean time, I'm updating the drivers...will upload the Rom when that's done. Also please note that the purpose of me releasing this Rom is to hope to get as many support as I can to help me troubleshoot the Rom..so yes you guys are guinea pigs

Kin0kin,
Any technical reason why this is the 4mbPP rom as opposed to your usual 6mbPP offerings? I know I can change this myself but don't want to do so if there are very good technical reasons, from your perspective, not to do so.
I am about to do a first; become a very early adopter of a beta rom.
Will report back once I have your answer and I have downloaded.
