I am a bit retarded and need help. I live in Florida and just ordered an I-Mate JASJAR. I want to upgrade the thing to WM6 but i cant find it and probably would not know what to do if i could. My carrier is T-Mobile and i really want this upgrade. If there is anyone out in the community that can help a person like me please leave a message. I am looking for the most RECENT version and how to actually install the thing.

Hi,
As per the post below on O2 I thought I would drop T-Mobile an email.
Here is the reply
"Good afternoon.
Thank you for your email.
We had thought about providing an upgrade to WM6 for our devices, however we have decided against this. It was decided that our phones ran well with WM5 and to concentrate our resources on releasing our new MDA Touch and, in time, MDA Vario III with WM6.
Kind regards.

T-Mobile"
I am have been monitoring the various WM6 roms on this site but I was holding off on updating my MDAC3 to see if T-Mobile would update it. Seems like that ain't going to happen.
Bugger, may have to take the plunge with one of the ROMs on here.
Regards
take a plunge mate, use the uspl tool and then upgrade, its easy if you follow instructions,
thats T-mobile for you though, they dont look after there customers properly. shoddy i say. its not like they have to pay for it. they could even just get hold of the original htc copy and put there code on it for there branded device. ndont take much...
im using the new rom with the htc touchflo included, and its bloody awesome.
ive been running a few WM6 roms without any problems on my MDACIII.
Ive been running the 3.5 rom recently which is great and as we speak im upgrading to 3.7.
Please Delete.
not a scooby but its a higher version and im a sucker for the latest and greatest.
Please Delete.
Would I have to unlock my MDACIII if I am to also upgrade the ROM to WM6 of which is available here?
No, but you'll need to download and run the USPL first.
I just recently got the ip-830 and have searched high and low for an upgrade but i can't find one? Anyone know where one is or give me 1st grade, step by step instructions? LOL.... i'm new to xda, rom altering, phone discombobulating so i have to take it to the store to get it fixed or replaced because i was doing something i wasn't supposed to... lol.. but don't worry, i do know how to sync my phone and save all the stuff i wanna save... lol..
anyway... i would like to upgrade the phone to a WM6 OS, so if any of ya'll can help me, I would love ya for life!
thanks!
Upgrade please!!!
Yes I agree! Please someone (Football HELP...) develop an upgrade for this WM device, hopefully WM6.1, it's really cool but WM5 is so outdated since WM7 is in development now.
I have a phone made in China that I bought directly from the manufacture, this is a 1 of a kind phone nothing else like it. It is really awesome but it has Windows Mobile 5 which is a disgrace, I must have WM6. I talk to the maker and they tell me it is very hard to do and they cant do it, I don't understand why this is. How hard would it be to put WM6 on it? How would I go about doing that? Is there someway to flash them? If someone has real expertise on this and could help me I might be able to pay a little money if it involved work. Thanks
hard? if, they think its hard. It may be the spec is quite low on your new phone. I have a MDA and I was going to upg to WM6. I read and I stop thinking to upg to WM6. It will make my phone much slower. From what I read, upg from WM5 to WM6 is not hard. You will need to post your maker or maybe spec of your phone to get more help.
What you are looking for is to Unlock CID first. CID stands for Country ID. Once is unlocked you can install almost any ROM you want.
This is a must read and it really help you understand how hard or easy to upg a ROM.

Hey folks, great forum. I have searched the forum to no avail
Could someone please help me with the following PDA - it's a cotel Windows W1 PDA running WM5, probably unheard of by most. I bought it in Dubai recently. Is there anyway I can upgrade it to WM6, if so which rom & software should I use. All i know is its running on OMAP730/ARM926T chip. I have no idea of its ipl/spl version or if its G3 or G4, cannot find anything out about it. The following link might give you a little more insight, its the very top left one.

I really hope someone can help me out here, thank you much.
**BUMP**
No idea's anyone??
I'd like to know as well. The only thing I was able to figure out is that it runs on a custom WM5 for PocketPC ROM.

good bet to assume no one has played with this phone yet? Yes?
After we purchased the T-Mobile Compact III, they told us that it would not switch to english. Now I am here and being flooded with Too Much Info. Could someone help out a poor sucker get this thing backed up, reflashed with an english version and maybe find a free GPS program? The only thing keeping me from running some of the stuff that I have found is backing up my current ROM. I want to be able to put the T-Mobile ROM back on the thing just in case....
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and probably by many service members here in Germany who will soon end up in my shoes.
Maybe my question was not clear....
I may have not stated my question clearly. I am looking for the T-Mobile German ROM that comes with the T-Mobile MDA Compact III here in Germany, or a way to back up the ROM on my Artemis...
I want to have the factory ROM on hand in case I have to reflash it back to original config... Once I have this or back it up, I can flash which ever rom I need. I do not want to end up with a brick that I cannot try to return to the original config.
Any help would be appreciated.
Growing Pains
Well, I have flashed my MDA with several ROMS to see which one my wife likes best. Risky, I know, but ya gotta please the missus...
I was disappointed that the WiFi was disabled in the german models, as it would have saved alot of money for us... O2 Germany's MDA's are WiFi enabled I found out today.
I am also disappointed that the GPS is very hard to get working. T-mobile cannot explain how to do it, and I am making that my next project.
For those who read this thread and decided that I was wasting space, sorry. I have read through about 45% of all artemis threads over the past 48 hours and my brain is thoroughly scrambled with TMI.
So far, Artemis Touch full version is the one that my wife likes, and I like it too. We tried the O2 ROM, but it is not compatible with the T-mobile network for some reason...(lol) Since I am still new, I have not learned how to flash a ROM using an .rar file yet, but with more thread reading I should be able to learn this as well.
BT Rom would not flash either, stating that it was the wrong model number. Found that in a thread as well... Next up... GPS...
