I'm using dopod d810 from 3 network. Just flashed it with the new 3.0 firmware with WM6. I'd like to have the comm manager icon on the today. How can I achieve that?
Thanks
trinityhack
Just download Trinityhack v 0.3 and in the Display tab activate the show wireless manager icon....

Funny,
Got back Installation of Trinityhack.CAB was unsuccessful. Is it because its WM6? I sent the zip file over bluetooth, unpacked it, and ran the cab.
Yeah what is the direct key in the registry? if anyone knows it'll be good.
Thanks
install battery status 1.04 beta and create a comm manger tray icon.
exe file can be found in windows directory
I used HTweakC 2.1 & it works fine with any rom "just ignore the error message "Unsupported Device ID TRIN100" when app starts.
Find the Comm manager shorcut (.lnk) in the windows directory and copy them into your startmenu/programs directory.
You will then be able to use it on your today.
TrinityHack didn't work. Still, very handy
Find the Comm manager shorcut (.lnk) in the windows directory
-I can't find the ink file (i sorted by type, unfortunately I don't know how to make file explorer show extensions)
Going to try htweakc

This really works?
hotplainrice - Here is the file, put it in your programs folder (Windows > Start Menu > Programs)
Here's how i operate the comm's...:
I use this extended version off BatteryStatus, which allows you to create Today tray icons for WLAN and Bluetooth (and some more stuff like ScreenOff, etc). I created trayicons for WLAN and BT only (and for DeviceLock) to operate these.....and i use VoiceCommand to toggle flight-mode on or off
To me it's the most convenient operation of the comm's ... have phun...

Has anyone else had this problem:
I've downloaded the PHMregedit msi from phm.lu (the activesync desktop installer version) and installed it in the same way as every other add-on, i.e. just double click the msi.
It installs to the desktop machine OK and it pulls up the ActiveSync installer as per normal BUT regedit does not appear on the ActiveSync "programs to install" list.
If I OK the install dialog then the install finishes up as normal but there is no "please check your mobile device for any additional required steps" message and the software is not installed on the XDA.
Everything else that I try installs fine.
Is there some other step I should be doing or is there a problem here?
Thanks
Pete
I just use the CAB file. Here it is:
Drag cab to my device/Documents/ run cab... then I get "unsuccesfull"
Any ideas?

Why don't you try another FREEWARE registry editor, Tascal Registry Editor (TRE), here:-
http://www2r.biglobe.ne.jp/~tascal/download/pocketpc/tre_e.htm
It works well on my QTEK9000 aka Universal
Also read http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/menneisyys/UltimateRoundupOfRegistryEditors.asp
Thanks Guys... Should keep me busy for a while/
FWIW, I just had the exact same problem with PHM Registry Editor. It would load up just like another program, launch the ActiveSync program loader, but then nothing would appear on my 8525. I tried soft booting a couple of times and various other combinations with no results...
However, dragging the CAB file to my storage card and then running it from the unit seemed to do the trick. Thanks for posting that cktlcmd!

Hello
Last week i have installed the HTC WM6 ROM to my phone but i don't like the green comm manager buttons and the 3G dialer green call buttons and background. I want to use the original windows mobile theme, can anyone please tell me where i will find and how i will install the original blue buttons and comm manager?
Thanks
Hello,
rename the file "commmanagerres.dll" to "!commmanagerres.dll" for eample.
The file is in windows folder you can't see it with the original explorer use totalcommander.
After softreset you have the Blue Comm Manager. Now you can delete "!commmanagerres.dll"
Hi,
I upgraded my P3300 with HTC´s original WM6 (Asia in English) and I have restablished the Dialer skin to WM6 by registry edit but I don´t know how to do this for the Comm Manager.

Thank you.
you need to replace a mui file

Just remove it -- It's simply NOT POSSIBLE!
Comm Manager is NOT part of Microsoft's OS, it was developed by HTC and added to the ROMs of HTC devices. So, it is included into the flashed ROM image.
Or explaining it with other words: this ugly green CommManager interface IS THE ORIGINAL!
But you can change it by replacing the graphic files with nicer ones...
cheers
how did you restore the phone dialer? Everytime ive looked at this in the past I loose the smart dialing
Any help would be much appreciated and go as techie as you like. I can handle it
You can find on this forum commanager CAB from keiser or use the attached file

Nikmel, thanks for the software but I get the following message
"Installation was unsuccessfull. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions"
I have also tried deleting or renaming the CommManagerRes file in \Windows but it seems it is in the Extended ROM and this is not possible. People who unlocked the ROM in the Artemis found it was erased after a hard reset
Dannyoneill, dialer backround was disabled by a registry edit found somewhere on this forum.
Obtain an editor. I used CeRegEditor
Go to Tools & Unlock Registry
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin
Change "Enabled" from 1 to 0
Soft Reset the device.
BlackTimes,
You can not remove it but you can replace with the file from that cab.
You need a filemanager like t commander or resco explorer.

You have to install the CAB imediatly after a soft reset. That way you won't receive that message anymore and the install funcion will de OK.

1) Open a registry editor
2) Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent\
3) Change the default value to "Mozilla/4.0".
4) Change the "Version" value to "MSIE 6.0".
5) Change the "Platform" value to "Windows NT 5.0".
6) Soft-reset.
Does anyone know how I prevent the vibrate mode (from holding down the Comm Manager button) tray icon in the following screenshot from being displayed?
I installed a CAB from here this week to get this feature working on my Vario II and the icon suddenly appeared.
Can I use Schap's Advanced Config for this or is it a quick Registry hack?
drop this in /windows and overwrite the original

Ah, it's that is it, doh! I should've realised as I had this with an older ROM image. If it's the same as the previous one I think I can just remove the shortcut to TrayIcon_MannerMode from \Windows\Startup.
Thanks.
venelar, I just tried your replacement .EXE and it worked a treat. Thank you very much
