Can any one tell me if it is possible to run tomtom 6 on my o2 orbit in windowed mode as at the moment it is in full screen mode and it makes it difficult to use other apps when needed been looking on the tomtom program and the device but cannot find anyway of doing so.
Many thanks in advance.
TomTom cannot be run in Windoed mode. Sorry!!
Presumably the thought is that when your driving you don't need to use other applications!!
In any case, just press the windows button.
Just press the OK button and you will be returned to the Today screen with TTN6 running in the background.

Hi,
I managed to get hold of a MDA Compact 3 yesterday from my local T-Mobile shop. I have installed most of what I had on my JAMin (my micro SD card won't be here until Monday so no GPS stuff) and I am just testing everthing.
So far it has all been positive with my expectations being met. I even feel the Compact 3 runs a bit faster than the JAMin overall.
There is one small problem with closing programs instead of minimising them. I have tried this both with the X button program and with SBSH iLauncher Task Manager and got the same result.
Basically it all works fine when using the stylus on the screen or the mouse pointer. However, if you use the OK/close button it simply minimises the application not close it. This is different from the JAMin where the OK button did close apps.
Any ideas?
Regards
In SBSH iLauncher options, you must check option "X close Application" ON.
Hi,
Yeah, as I said I have this turned on, it works fine with stylus or mouse pointer it is ONLY when using the OK/CLOSE button that it minimises rather than closing.

Must have application for onehanders is a small utility called AE Button Plus at http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php. This allows you to map any number of system functions and applications to buttons (each button can acquire 3 more functions by double, triple and long press). For instance, I have mapped the mouse courser to a double click of a button. I have also mapped my ok button so that it really closes applications on a long press.
I know I sound like a sales rep but I am just a appreciative user.

I saw this on the MUST HAVE thread in this forum, good luck.
Thanks, but I don't really want to install another close program, that would make three!!

i found this on the net, it's a rotation screen app , it works well on my samsung i320...put it in your start menu as you can assign it to a key on your phone...
it can be useful for tomtom6 ...assign it to a hard key, launch tomtom 6 and each time you press the key screen will rotate...
sorry for my bad english
Doesn't work on the dash.
sorry but i was thinking that it should work on the dash as it is working on the i320
Sorry for bad english
work on my i320 desk but very bad with tomtom 6
Now why is it that my HTC S710 (Vox) can run TomTom Navigator 6 without any problems?
When I start TomTom while in portrait mode, it just starts portrait. When I open the keypad and start TomTom in landscape mode, it opens in landscape.
Is it some hardware issue here, or is it Windows Mobile 6?

Works nice with my SGH-i200 (WM 6.1 Standard)!
Its faster than that "Rotate screen application" but needs more clicks to get to normal...
Hi everyone,
I am trying to develop an application to run on this device and am having a few issues. I have no idea if it is actually possible to do these things or not so any help would be appreciated.
1 - disable the power button so the device cannot be turned off by the user
2 - re-program the hang up button so this goes to the app rather than the today screen
3 - program the IE button so this runs the app when pressed in tomtom rather than IE (i can get this to work anywhere else using the buttons icon in the settings menu but it persists in running IE when used when tomtom is in teh foreground)
Many thanks.
Hi everybody
I assigne in my P3300 the internet explorer to screen rotation. In WM5 no Problem, but when i'm in Tomtom 6 if i press this key internet explorer was launch!!!!
How configure keys in tomtom? because i looking for a solution for rotate screen under tomtom.
Someone have idea.

Rotate the screen before starting TomTom or revert to TomTom 5 that allows you to rotate the screen from TomTom

Hmm - a solution to what - keys working through TomTom? ok this doesn't work so yes it's not a solution but if you want to run TomTom in landscape mode it does work so it is a solution!
Take your pick - I was just offering help.
Are you running any button mapping software? I'm using TT6.02, and have no issues doing exactly what you want - i use the IE button for screen rotation, and it works in TT, so it's not TT or the built in button mapping that's the issue.
I already map the IE button (rotation) but in tomtom 6 when I press the IE button internet explorer was opened. I just use for map button provide in WM5 (parameter/button).
In other application this mapping works well.
Same issue
Hi all i have exactly the same issue, not using any mapping software just the "buttons" menu inside settings. I can map the sat nav button to anything i like when i am running anything else but when in tomtom this button always loads the internet!
im trying to go between different applications so i cannot do what i require before entering tomtom. i also dont want to downgrade as the full tomtom6.2 was quite expensive...
I have just tried and using the O2 Orbit version and tom tom 6.01 it rotates the screen in tom tom and does NOT launch IE.
Just using the buttons settings program that came with the phone
Can anyone help?
I've been given an HTC P3300 as a taxi driver which runs GPRS taxi software by Cordic along with TomTom Navigator. It's a great system but I'd like to be able to get into Windows and remap the buttons, especially the power button. The software seems to have hidden Pocket Windows and locked all the buttons. The most annoying 'feature' is that accidentally touching the power button shuts down the PDA, whereas on other HTCs it stays in standby and requires a long push and asks for confirmation to shut down.
Can anyone suggest a way of getting to Windows Mobile (OS 3.13 mean anything?) and remapping the buttons, or at least forcing a confirmation for pressing power.
Also, TomTom won't save any preferences. I'll try another site for advice on this but again if anyone knows of this issue and a solution please let me know.
Cheers,
Colin
