Hi!
Why i can't flash my Artemis with rom based on WM6 3.5 if the rom file less then 50 mb? I used kichen core to creat own rom without some files and if the result file (***.nbh) less then 50 mb the RUU programm gime me error (the file size is invalid).

i wonder if this is possible,
to remove useless ROM files from windows folder? i found a lot of dog barking multimedia crap, i estimated it to be around 9MB ????
is this possible ????
i tried the raw rom editor tool on another thread but it didnt work on the new rom for jasjar
thanks
yes. cook your own rom as well explained in earlier posts.
->convert the nkf files
->dump the extracted fat file
*rid out the junk properly, rgu dsm hv _...
-<compile digged out dump
-<reconvert to nkf
*flash
*have many precious megs free  [/b]
tryed so but failed as the new rom was not supported
tryed so but failed as the new rom was not supported by the buildimgfs.exe tool , neither did the delfile.exe tool did work also :?
any other ways to cook rom ?
any way to delete files directly from the installed rom ????
many thanks
What did you try because cooking a universal rom does.
make_imgfs.exe dumps the splitted binary rom file. It can dump the .bin file you splitted using prepare_imgfs.exe.
Buildimgfs on the other hand rebuilds the dump directory to the binary rom file.
I suppose you do something wrong.
2 success , 2 failure
i did make_imgfs.exe : successfully .
then prepare_imgfs.exe. : successfully
but Buildimgfs : failed,
and delfile.exe also failed ...
the programer said these might not support the new rom.
i donno wat to do now ???
many thans
the os image is compressed so you might not be able to gain as much storage as u think... however if you do then let us know as well
Where...
Where this the earlier post????
Gracias...

thank you in advance

U forgot to use HTC64_Extended_ROM_Tool.exe it makes nk.nb from nk.nbf
but once more, nk.nb nk.nbf, unless himalaya and universal have absolutely different types of flashing doesnt contain extrom. If i'm not wrong nk.nbf is only and only OS_ROM
and yes, its possible to extract files from OS_ROM as well as from Ext_ROM
no, no, no!
Himalaya roms are decompiled using xda2nbftool.exe
it needs to be supplied with the right password (different for radio, extrom and OS) for the NBF you are decompiling, this will give you a .nba that you can use with mamaich's IMGFStools
to add/delete/decompile.
nbh's, nb's and the typhoon tool have no part in himalaya roms.
sorry Midget i thought that all nbX formats are almost the same ie nbf in Uni contains same things as in Hima. Sorry PatrickJ for misleading U

Patrickj,
Search for llbasha's-WM5-AKU35pp16a1 rom in the forum. It is built in with the cooking utilities.
Maybe you can refer here and download the previous version of llbasha's rom with the cooking utilities and instructions:

thank you, i have that rom but it want is extract its files
Hi all xda-devs
Does anyone have the latest TyphoonNbfTool ? I got one but I think it is the old one and it does not seem to be working properly.
I loaded a custom cooked WM6 ROM and then I edit the header data to change the Operator version. Then I recalculated the header CRC32. After that, when I save the file, the file size appears to be only 1kb instead of 30-40 over MB, any solution?
Thanks
Look at xda ftp,in uploads\upload for a file called typhoo5.exe or typhoonnbfdecode.exe or install as perl 5.8 and nbfutils from itsme and use typhoonnbfdecode.pl. look at spv-developers.com, there are lots of info how to use it
have the same problm
After installing the original WM6 Ita Rom, I had only 5 Mb left of storage space, so I decided to strip Tomtom from the extended Rom and having the install files on sd, this is the results after installing Htc Home and other programs:
Archiviazione Programmi
Totale: 45.71 Mb Totale: 47.90 Mb
In uso: 19.77 Mb In uso: 25.64 Mb
Disp: 25.94 Mb Disp: 22.26 Mb
I prefer to Use the original Rom since is very stable, and radio is optimized for Italian overcrowded networks.
Here are the files: Rom & Tomtom Install for sd

Thanks to Dutty for NBH tool
and Dark Simpson for htc Rom Tool
and to this wonderful forum
Thanks orsom...useful version
Tested and working like a charm
Your idea is good, but why don't remove totally Extended_ROM???
My rom is build starting from original HTC, removing Ext_Rom and upgrading something, but it's ever the original rom (stabile and fast)
Removing Ext_Rom storage comes to 53-55MB total and 50-52MB free...
