Hello
I just want to know if this ROM is an official one ? Is she better than Mun's and other ROM ?
No 1 ROM is better than another. The different flavours do different things. It's a matter of trial and error to find which one suits you best. Personally I'm currently using LVSW, however once there isn't such a slew of updates for the PDAviet ROM I may well shift to that to test and I also intend to test Indigo when it's released to see if I prefer them or no.

So the conclusion here is: try them out for yourself to see which one suits your needs. Personally, I find it fun and exciting to try out new ROMs.

Hi,
Well lets see, i have tested nearly all roms, some of them was slow, with bugs, or etc... So i am guessing if anyone could sugest a rom which is stable, fast and clean with Win 6.1 TFD3 2.1 or maybe 2.5. but TFD3 2.1 would be best since it is stable.
Not to seem sarcastic. But since you already tried all of the ROMs, shouldn't you know which one works and/or suits you best? Seems logical.
What's wrong with this one?

+1 Taurus, you got it
I think it's time the OP starting researching into developing/customising his own ROMS and then perhaps upload it so we all can have a 'clean, fast and stable ROM' (sometimes referred to as 'stock') for our Diamonds

Thats preaty fast and customizable rom with script.
I currently have a UK T-Mobile G2 which is happily rooted and with the vanilla 2.73.405.5 rom I downloaded from the MoDoCo website and all works well.
Can anyone personally recommend a newer good stable custom ROM or do you think I should just wait for the 2.1 releases?

If you like sense, the Hero/Espresso Hybrid is best.
If you want to try a modded standard android, try KaguDroid.
But flashing is fast and easy. Why not try them all yourself? Your question is almost like asking people what kind of ice cream is the best.

True, but that's why I was hoping for a personal recommendation so I only needed to try one or two, me being the lazy git that I am.
Yes, but what he likes, you might not.
Have a browse and see what you like the look of. Flash it, if it doesn't work, try another one. How do you think we all choose our ROMs?
Thread Closed.

Well, we have a bunch of roms for hour HERO, in one rom the camera works at 5mpx, in another at 3.
We've opengl working and not working.
In another rom we have Sense UI, in another we don't have it...
So, why don't you unify all those efforts and create a unique rom with
camera working
sense/non-sense (2 version of the same rom)
And all other stuff???
Is this idea so bad?
They are all based on different Kernals (the basis of the rom) so therefore they are built up differently leading to different things working and not working.
It may be possible to get everything working but certainly would nto be a quick and easy task.
Best thing to do is think of what you regularly use and pick whatever 2.1 rom suits your needs until we get a fully working 2.1 dump.
I think, at this point, i'll wait for a HTC official update, and i'll keep using Exit93 roms...
I second that.
As a fairly long time xda-user i often find it frustrating to find a good rom for my phone.
Just the other day i got my hero and this time there seems to be slightly fewer roms floating around but it's still pretty hard to find a suitable one.
I think alot of us have a good idea of what exactly we want and alot of roms have a bunch of stuff we really dont care about as much as the chef.
What i would really appreciate is a clean rom with a repository of optional components, i don't mind there being a chinese keyboard, but please make it optional.
If i could i would love to get in to the cooking game, i've thought about it several times over the last few years. Alas, i don't know where to start, at least not with Hero.
If anyone can point me to a good starting place i would love to give it a try and make the rom im talking about.
Cheers

i believe CKDroid is the one for you. it comes with a small kitchen (windows only) to enable you to customize the rom. it's quite stable too
also ... look here for a start to your cooking career.

this is wrong. all the 2.1 roms are based on the exact same kernel from the only leaked 2.1 rom we have. as soon as the sources are out a lot will change, but until then the kernel is one of the biggest limitations.

I was sure that the sense based 2.1 roms and the normal android 2.1 roms were based on different sources.

kernel != rom
there is only one binary 2.6.29 kernel for the 2.1 roms. compare the roms, you will see that the kernel is always:
Code:
2.6.29-8d063048
[email protected]
even if some (one) devs try to make it look like they have a custom kernel...

There is only one set of freely available source code for Android 2.1 and that is the AOSP version. Note that this is quite distinct from the kernel source code, and is license separately.
For the most part, the Sense-based 2.1 ROMs will be using precompiled elements taken from leaked HTC ROMs, though may have some AOSP elements too.
When HTC do finally release 2.1 for Hero, they must then make the kernel source code as per the terms of the GPL. However, HTC do not ever have to release the source code for their version of Android because the Apache Software Licence (ASL) that Google released Android under is not a copyleft license.

Dave

Always learning...
Thanks
None of the current 2.1 ROMS is worth using, they're all just useful for experiments with Android 2.1 - no more than that.
I'm happy with MCR 3.1 so far, it's fast stable, working and relyable, nothing of that could be said of any 2.1 custom ROM so far. So please wait 2 or 3 more weeks until we finally get a real working 2.1 ROM from HTC.

That's just your opinion
VillianRom is currently offering me everything I need to use in a ROM with no issues at all.
Sure some people have problem with different roms but thats because everyone has different needs and uses with their devices.
with repect to all rom developers... didnt mean to compare all your rom
i'd like to try all roms, ..just wondering how the newbies decide which rom you will go for
for example i will choose
1. roms which has the most pages of comment
2. the rom that shows highest benchmarks result
3. old chef from old mobile
4. updated frequency , many version, many fix ...
becuase every on of them seem to be very nice & with hard work... difficult to decide
I will fix your post for you due to showing noobiness and such.
1. No one does that, thats stupid
2. Benchmark results can be faked very easily.
3. True, but only if you liked his work before, you will like his work now. But if you seen that chef which didn't make such a good ROM before, I wouldn't go for them.
4. Doesn't matter if its updated or not, you're supposed to find what is best for you and your country's networks. Also most updated doesn't mean its the best.
BUT...
I'll answer them after being such a douche
I would go for these if I wanted the Sense UI:
Android Revolution HD or LeeDroid OneXtreme
If I wanted a Sense-less UI, I would go for these:
eXoDiZeD or CyanogenMod 9
In XDA, no one asks those questions, we try out what fits us best and what doesn't
IMO I try out all the ROMs .. Because each developer has his own set of tweaks included. We have some great developers who have amazing ROMs. To be honest it's more personal decision. I suggest you try out reach ROM and stick with the one you like the most. Personally i'm waiting for AOSP or CM ROM I hate Sense.
I've just bought my new HTC one x, and after unlocking bootloader and flashing a CWM, I've looked for a custom Rom but we have too many cRoms in our development section!!! First I flashed mike's android revolution, because I used it on my transformer and I wanted to check it on my phone, but I didn't enjoy it at all. So I flashed leeDroid cRom, and I love it!! I'm going to flash a senseless Rom now, wich one do you prefere?
i haven't flashed custom room yet. only update 1.28 stock. i might wait for cm9. or deciding to go for Romaur which had high benchmark result even the above post said its easy to fake at least some thing to look at rather than the feeling. or go for insert coin coz seen someone posted this rom is the best .. like going oversea wanna have good lunch and chose by looking to where people goes
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Please suggest any stable and fully functional ROM, that offers good battery life and is customisable.
I dont mind non-HTCsense roms.
Viper X ... I am with it from day 1 i rooted the phone and never used any other rom.
Its very stable and highly customizable

well, It's really hard to tell which is best, which is not.
Before you flash a new rom, you'd better watch some intro. video or trouble-shooting threads for known issues.
BTW, if you wanna stable rom, just pick those roms which used by most people: cm,arhd, etc

He is not asking for the best he wants a stable one, they are pretty much all stable but they all have different features. The viper has the most tweaks , that's a proven fact
And you are right there is no best rom, check some different roms out there and see which one suits you best
ARHD is very stable as it's stock for what comes on the HOX, Paranoid Android is also very stable as it's practically Vanilla android.
