Black 4.0 shadow to use "official" hermes Rom

Hi guys,
JJ has hinted that the next incarnation of black.. will be based on the official hermes rom. Whether it has been leaked to him by htc or however he got it, am looking forward to it.
I guess that leaking the rom to him will allow him to beta test the rc release to find out if there are any outstanding issues. A wise move by htc IMHO, ensuring that the true final release will be nice and stable and tested....
Looking forward to it in anticipation

any hints when it will be available 4.0 black shadow

I'm antiipating the release of this ROM as well...There are so many different ones floating around now I'm not sure which one I want to stick with...

freaking awesome and I am pretty confident countless others share this opinion. I'm sure your probably joking though, I just think that talented people should be respected especially if they contribute freely so who cares where they go or what they do. Just my opinion.

Um, so? Were your feelings hurt or something? Do you take your browsing experience here to another level by adding emotion? I don't know about anyone besides myself, but the guy's made countless contributions to this community with his ROM's, and I applaud him and thank him for taking HIS time to do so.

But is it nessecarilly a good thing our cooks use an official ROM?
I mean often the official ROM hasn't all the functionality that a beta or developers ROM has. And the current 'beta's" are so stabile, I can't imagine an official ROM is that more stabile or faster.
I guess we don't know it till we have one...

Another useless crybaby post...

Calm down ladies.... its like handbags at dawn here. The reason he left was that the black rom had outgrown here in xda.. His one post thread that he was allowed was 1000 posts strong, which is to unwieldy for anyone to manage. At the other site he has got a whole sub forum to himself, which is really what is needed to manage a rom that is as popular as his...
you need to be able to seperate the bug reports from the "thanks dude" posts and the "how do I update to this rom" posts. I am sure that lv will have the same problem when they release their new rom...
Until xda becomes a bit more flexble, all the decent chefs are going to get frustrated and move on.
I for one would love to have a single site to visit, however it is not that hard to visit both, as they both have different strong points.
BTW any idea when the new LV rom will be out?

And yes, the ROM i have is the official, with the official kernel and its stable, fast, all the LATEST OEM APPS, but I guess its ****e as DAFTEK, aka ****WIT has put it......

I am confused by the motives of people who post purely to bad mouth people.
Ok - so JJ decided to support his rom elsewhere, so what? How does that hurt XDA or any of its members? Its not like it actually stops anyone from getting it, or getting support?

Hi,
Regarding the Announcements (http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=430), because i respect all the 6 red recommandations, i can add this new post and i hope the moderator won't delete it!
I open this post just to say how bad for the communtiy the ban of Alphazero is!
In fact many of us found his ROMs marvelous but still have some difficulties, some bugs (example With version v7 Fr and GPS) or simply want to discuss about them with him.
I hope this ban won't be too long and i hope that Alphazero will accept to come back here.
If it is not the case does somebody know where (site, forum, ....) he can continue or continue the wonderfull work he has started here???

i think the reason is between the Mod who did the ban and Alphazero...

I had a query with Alphazero few minutes a go!
He told me that he himself has no idea clearly why he is banned!
all it was said:
a. Non-constructive posts.
b. fighting with other XDA members.

Can't more agree.........he deserves a second chance.

I also think alphazero deserve a second chance.He really has done some very good work and was usefull for others.Hope this should be rectified by XDA mods, otherwise, people would not be encouraged to work and share things here.

Banned if real fault, it's normal! For an EGO/Macho problem with another member (even a modo)...
And banned for how long?
If people are condamned, it's normal to know the sentence...
How can you demand a reduction of pain if you don't know the lenght of the ban...

I find it a real shame. People abusing their powers. I think that
aztor has done a lot for this community. I dont see any offence in his public
made comments. And afterall i do think that for doing something for the

I don't know if he did something like that recently, but according to the following link, it seems to me that he accuses another cooker for using his work without giving him the credits, not the opposite. And seeing that AlphaZero's friends is Swtos, makes my mind go round and round like crazy...

Now, i wonder which part of AlphaZero's ROMs i would want to have? Perhaps the "Full Kernel Mode 5-7% More Speed" and "ULDR Partition Removed". On the other hand, i should give the credits to the creator (Alphazero and Swtos). But what if i don't really like them and have argued with them in the past? What if my egoism and egocentrism don't allow me that? Well, i suppose i would just had to "borrow" their work secretely...
(The last paragraph is pure fiction, of course...)

Lately we know that the Rom Cooker (Alphazero) has banned because his opinion and nothing else (Except he is a competitor).
We all appreciate all rom cooker in this forum.
But, we don't want any one of the rom cookers to stand on the surfce by letting some one down (i.e. banning the others).

And this mean the forum loses his credibility.

You know. I was always wondering why developers suddenly stop with roms or programs. They can have family or personal reasons like being very busy with work or with whatever.
But there are more reasons why developers stop with cooking roms and/or programs. I've seen this before on other forums where developers stopped. Like with "Todayplus" some years ago.Same reason.
Here's the other reason
Just a suggestion though to others, take care of cooks you still have here (ex: pcarvalho).Signs of encouragement help, less demanding in threads as if they owe you something, and every now and then donate enough to keep them motivated.

As the cooker explaing this has nothing to do with donations.I think the above is very true.Demanding is very "deadly" in every case.
Think about it!

I agree there seems to be a sense of entitlement to people who are using the ROMs.
The good chefs here cook how they feel they want to and offer it to you. If you want something changed, learn to cook yourself.
The OP is absolutely right if we start mistreating anyone or bark out orders, they will stop.

I wrote the OP. The quote I used was from a cook I read and this start making me think. Resulted in this thread.So he was right. I only spread his word

Sadly, this attitude is not new and not unique to these 'rom cookers' either. Coming from an Open Source background, you must see the number of demands that are made of our project/members.. even when *we* offer free support and help as well as software.

I like to kick this thread once in a while to make you aware of the subject. Since it is important if you like see the new ROM's keep coming up.

i would like to also make note of the fact that not a lot of user will download a rom by a new cook. this is a bit unfair since although the rom that has been made may not be the best it still took a lot of hard work to create
the reason im highlighting this is because i think it important to try out roms from nrew cooks and let them know how its gewtting on in terms of performance wise let them know whats wrong with it and were it could be improved
ok now ill use an example
when i posted my rom i got a few downloaders who try it out but all of one reply
this reply consisted of badmouthing my rom
then i got one who said it was actually fast
so basically the first poster on the thread about my rom wasnt being very nice and id like to thank hendrixus for letting people this is a problem

Nevertheless.People do agree to what I wrote. But I still find posters demand the cooks, who ask the same questions over-and-over again. They don't search, nor read (faqs) to find the answers which are there.
They just "hop-in" and start asking. Like we are the HTC's helpdesk which we arn't.

I noticed the following for some time.
Even when a app is discontinued people keep on "talking" to the programmer, even when he hasn't been on the forum for a year or so. Asking for bugfixes and new features.
It is not only ridiculious, but pathetic too. Those who are doing so are not only newbies but also seniors. At least they should know better

There are a few devs that have had this as early as last weekend - hence having the new 1.77 PRI. There is also a new radio associated with this release. It will begin to be pushed OTA by Sprint tomorrow (9/22) - and that is official.

Dont worry about it, just drop it. There are a few people that get pissed because it happens ALOT and by new people. So some people think they have to be rough so other people see and learn also. All I have to say is poor Toastcfh, he has to move all them and deal with the bickering. Just try to read the forum rules

I've been around SDX for a bit and jerdog has proven himself to drop some very accurate knowledge when it comes to release dates and inside info from Sprint. He's stated on a few occasions he's some kind of higher level tech for Sprint on the radio and towers end. I trust his info.

Is this going to mean new kernels once it and the source code are released. Im one of the rookies but im thinking the new stock kernel should have great battery life like the one flipz just released and with the fps fix worked in by htc it should be pretty damn good out of the box.

I would love to see WP7 ported over to the EVO just to say "Hey is possible" but I don't think I would waste such a powerful device like the EVO on such a crappy OS. I mean don't get me wrong, there are some things that are cool about WP7 but is not enough for anyone to ditch Android and use WP7 as their primary OS. If you want to use WP7 then either buy a WP7 phone or go and buy an HD2. I have an HD2 as well as my EVO and I can tell you that the HD2 is great for the fact that it runs so many OS but with that being said, is not even close to the performance of the EVO.

DUDE, don't give people the whole is illegal thing. If that's illegal then I'm pretty sure that if you wanted to start breaking things down as far as what is legal and what's not....alot of what's done on here would be illegal. Things like flashing phones to different carriers and stuff like that.
The HTC HD2 can be flashed to WP7 and Android.....is that illegal? If so, then you better inform XDA that they need to shut their doors because they have a bunch of illegal activity going on within their site.......I hate people like you...I really do!

If it was done, it would never be put on this site. Microsoft goes after this stuff pretty hard. You have to have a license to run wp7. So could it be done? Sure, but not here.

really dude?? i dont troll around the Q&A section.. the topics popped up when i was writing my thread and there was non that came up dealing with WP7 on Evo... GOD I LOVE TROLLS/FORUM NERDS.

this is true, however there are legality issues with it running WP7 at this point.

So you are aware of legality issues of it running on a WinMo6.5 phone but for some reason you think that all that gets circumvented when it gets ported to an Android device?

I put that i have an otterbox case so if someone had a question about it they can ask me. Because I try to be helpful. In fact most of my time spent here is helping or at least trying to help other people. 90% of my posts are answering other people's questions. I spend a LOT of time on this site, and see tons of casual posters come in and clutter this forum up and it makes it harder for everybody else to find the answers they are looking for when they have to sift through bull**** thread after bull**** thread. But you're right, I could have been nicer about it but I'm tired and have a headache and don't really feel like being nice right now. And I have no manners.
