Is there a way to block certain callers from incoming calls to your phone ???\
maybe buy a filter or software , that works with WM6 ????
Call Barring is available mainly through your service provider. There's a piece of software that "blocks" calls but I think it works differently. Probably, it still allows the caller to call you, just that the person will be ignored or sent to voicemail.
The only piece of software I could find is Novosec SmartFilter:
http://www.novomobile.com/smartfilter.php
Try the demo to see if it works before you commit to anything. Hope this helps!
I have been using a software called Magicall. It works very well for me both in WM5 and WM6. Here is the link:

Try this one, it is free
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307178&highlight=call+firewall
I use this one
http://www.winmobileapps.com/device/pocketpc/csb/csb.aspx
You have to buy it but it is an excellent program and value for money. It also blocks sms and links to your phone book too.
I use photocontacts. I does alot of things, like diferent ringtones and/or photos for each group or person. And it also has profiles where u can define what to do for every person or each group (ignore, hangup, mute, etc, etc)
Well thanks guys , I tried the free 1 first , but a had afew problems with it , so i then tried Magicall , and this works perfect , cheers

Also spb phone suite has black list for incoming calls. And it has a very good today plugin, with all the counters and profiles. In my opinion is one the best apps for a ppc phone.

I'm looking to know if the Jabra BT800 is compatible with the Qtek 9000, anyone can help me?
Sorry about the delay, only just noticed this question, yes, the BT800 works with the Universal / XDA Exec / Qtek 9000 I use one myself.
Hi,
I can also confirm the Jabra works fine.

Just the number! MS BT stack doesn't implement this interesting feature.
However you can use the SW on this link http://www.jetwaremobile.com/index.htm from JETware Mobile
Evidence! I saw letters on my JABRA BT800 today!!!

Hi All!!!!
Yes, I saw letters on my JABRA's display after about one year of using this piece of almost useless crap! I have installed the latest version from jetwaremobile.com and it finally works. Previos versions just didn't worked!
(I wouldn't like to describe all issues and low quality if BT800, I just use it in a car to answer urgent calls.)
BUT!
1. If the name in the contact calling you - is not in English - you will see nothing on the LCD Screen;
2. It takes ages the name to appear on the screen (5 rings or more) even if I called few times;
3. It uses Jabra's internal memory to store the contacts. So, if you have 1000+ contacts (like I do), there is no chance to use this feature. (But, you stil can create a separate Category for the hot contacts, and setup jetwaremobile's software discussed here to load only these numbers).
So, All, train your memory and remember all your 1000+ phone numbers yourself
In my case names are displayed quite fast. But I've just a few hundreds of contacts... if it makes the difference.
Also managed to have previous versions working (v1 and v1.11. OK also for 1.20 Beta)
I guess your problem with non English names, means non occidental characters!? Because it is OK with mine and they are not English.
To avoid some potential problems I've ticked in 'Advance options', just what I'm interested in, 'Caller ID'
My only frustration is that I wish large names to scroll, otherwise many contacts seems to be the same...
@dima_the_chief
how can you browse contacts from bt800. I only know about last ten calls are stored in headset.
As for delay this is true but only sometime when devices loose conectivity, usualy works fine for me with xda2 wm2005.

As far as I understood dima, didn't say that.
In fact BT800 doesn't allow to browse contacts stored on device!
then what to understood with:
3. It uses Jabra's internal memory to store the contacts. So, if you have 1000+ contacts (like I do), there is no chance to use this feature. (But, you stil can create a separate Category for the hot contacts, and setup jetwaremobile's software discussed here to load only these numbers).

It means BT800 uses internal memory to keep lookup tables, that would allow to correlate an incoming number, with the correspondent name.
Doesn't mean you can browse the contacts list, from the headset, what in fact you can't.
Most probably it is technically close to be possible, bu it isn't in the feature list or at least implemented so.

No! i CAN NOT BROWSE THE CONTACTS with my crappy-****ty BT800.
But, I can review last 10 incoming calls. I can see names instead of numbers.
There is a compatibility sheet on http://jetwaremobile.com/bthfx/support.htm .
It says that BT 800 only can do a Voice dial, In-band ringtones and the Caller Id.

Why dont you think, BT800 loads the name for the incoming call on demand? That could explain the delay for the Caller Name display on incoming call.

HI All, gabiz_ro!
Sorry for bullshitting you, but my latest investigations shows, that, even the jetwaremobile's SW will try to send all off my 1000+ contacts to the BT800 it wount accept them.
My proposition about storing all the contacts in internal memory of the BT 800 - is wrong.
But, other BT headsets still can do that! And those devices can browse the phonebook. Like Parrot 3200 LS doest. But, it has a limitation of contacts to load. In this case you have to create a Hot Contacts cathegory in your contacts.
Hope this post gave clearance on the subject.

warn the newbies -- DONT purchase JABRA BT 800
Hi All!
With this post I would like to warn the newbies against purchasing the JABRA BT 800.
Guys!!!!!!!! Spend some time and find another product!
More reliable, stable and usefull!!! You will NOT meet your challenge with purchasing this useless crap!
After using for about a year of BT 800, I have finally got it bricked.
I would not like to discribe here my unseccessful experience of using it for a year, will only descirbe the technological issues in the product.
The main buttons stopped responding to my presses. As the warranty is almost not working in my place, I tryed to repair the device myself.
The reason was - the tailanted chaineese engineer's solution to use the small ****ty piece of the plastic as a spring for the buttons. Of course after the year of rare using, this plastic part was broken, preventing the microswitch to be pushed.
Had to change the button's design and introduce the spiral spring to make it working again.
Sorry for the technical details, ALL, just do not buy BT 800 not to be concerned to the subject.
Yes, I am a strong man, and have weight down the buttons, especially when JABRA do not respond to my pressings during the incoming calls (How many of them I lost thanks to BT 800!!!!!).
How will I live further? Will buy an expencive but more reliable kar kit to use in a car and will continue using just a plain Uni for regular calls.

JetWare Works on MDA but...
I like this program and all but before installing it, I used to be able to hear my actual phone ringing instead of it just ringing in my Jabra BT800 headset. I can't seem to figure out how to have them both ringing, any suggestions?

Just not possible. It is the normal behaviour JetWare implemented, just like that.
See their answer I received this week about the same question, bellow.
"The behavior you observe, of the ring going only to the headset when “Use phone ringtones” is checked, is expected behavior."
Does anyone have the tekkeon ez 3000 with the Jetware app using the Universal? Any comments?

I think that will only record your voice. It does not record the voice of the caller. I think this is an issue with all phones using WM. I did read somewhere that Vito software might have a solution for this...
check out this blog for more info:

Hi, Try "Vito audio notes"
It's possible to set for record any conversation, and automatically save incoming and outgoing...
ooops... my english it's very terrible... so... it's better if You try this program...
this topic has been covered so many times......short answer, no you cannot record calls. there's a whole list of articles in the wiki right here
Another short answer is: yes, you can record a phone conversation, but only on speakerphone mode. The microphone has to pick up the callers voice from the speaker, most HTC phones have this hardware restriction where the audio stream cannot be captured internally.
could i say it's possilble?try this one:
.....send me pm
work like a charm
pls don't kill me i just want to help
later edit: cause i don't want to be killed i remove the link!who need the soft send me pm!
we wont kill u for trying to help, but for posting warez.......
You don't need to post warez, just tell us the name of this amazing software that's supposed to overcome hardware limitations! (Or am I too optimistic here? Is this just one more case of mic picking up sound from loudspeaker?)
it calls Resco Audio Recorders!try it !i offer link to some guys from here and if they want will report if is good or not!
later edit:
someone report it dosen't work but on my spv m3100 work very well!i give him instructions and i wait for report!if it works to him it works to everybody and in this case i will make a tutorial how to install and configure resco audio records
Guys just use Vito Audio Notes.
It record ur call (no need to turn on speaker) even u cant notice this.
Vito Audio Notes 1.32
Hrm this topic again...
From the audio notes webpage:
VITO AudioNotes does not record phone calls on Pocket PC due to operating system or hardware restrictions. On some Pocket PC Phone Edition devices VITO AudioNotes still can record phone calls without turning on speakerphone. Download the trial version and check if it records phone calls on your mobile device.

No need to turn on speaker? But you can still record both your own and the other party's voices? Please tell us how you managed to set this up!
I have a feeling that there are a lot of selfish people out there that think that "recording a telephonic call" means just their own voice and no need to record that pointless drivel of the other party

But does it clearly record the voice of the other party. My understanding it is a hardware limitation so that the other person voice will be recorded from the speaker so will not be very clear.
VITO Does not record any voice from the other party... It may on a 'trinity' or any other hardware, but on a Hermes, there is a hardware limitation...
People have tried a lot of softwares in the past, vito, resco et al, nothing works because of how the Hermes is designed...!
Hello guy`s i need some help.
So im looking for some good Caller BlackList app that will work perfect on my HTC Touch HD
I was searching on the net and i already try few like MagiCall, Steelsoft Blaclist and etc they don`t work fine for me on the Blackstone and when i add some phone number to the Blacklist nothing heppand the number is able to call me anytime.
I need advice from peoples who know witch program i need!
Im looking for some good Blacklist Caller to be simple easy to use with no alot extras just when i put some number on the blacklist he to be really on theblacklist till i don`t move it from there!
And when this number try to call me always to give a busy signal or my phone is turned off something like this!
Thanks in advance
P.S I try befor few minutes the app that i found here called CallFirewall 1.4 and again the same im adding numbers to the BlackList and they are able to call me without a problem so this app don`t work for me too Please HELP
You must not close the apps after adding a a number... You MUST hide them... They must be always enabled to reject calls, otherwise apps dont work...
I use magicall and it works perfect...
I'm using No Calls.
A finger friendly call-blocking software which works great on the HD.

Me too, works fine and allows the creation of profiles and blocking calls without caller id (a must).
NoCalls seems great but one thing i couldn't do on it was block specific numbers without having the numbers in the contact list, any idea how or a program that can do that.
Thank you for the advise i already download No Calls v 1.0 and use it the problem i had is the program really work and block the selected contacts but didn`t block them immideately what i mean when this contact try to call me for few second he recive a free signal and after this the phone ignoring him and looks like someone calling me and i press the red button! so the question is here i need a smart fast software that for example if you are addet to my blacklist you to recive busy signal from the begining or something like this
because not have any point 1st to be free signal and after that busy i can do the same without to use any program just i need to press the red button!
I hope to understand me and give me some advice why this heppand and why the program don`t work fast
Thanks
I Found desigion so now i try again SteelSoft BlackList v 4.21 and it work perfect for me block the calls immidiately so the point is this that yesterday i install the app in my Storage Card and afer this she don`t wana block any calls etc.. today befor few minutes install the same app in my Phone memory and the program work like a charm!
So for peoples who have the same problem like me they can use this app and all will be fine!
When the banned contact or number try to call you will recive few second`s busy signal and will be ignored very fast nobody can suspect that you put him in the blacklist!
Perfect
I use Magicall on my HD. No problems at all. It's a great SMS/Call filter.
Hey guys i just recently purchase the HTC TOUCH PRO and im trying to figure out where and how to get the no call program. Thanks.
how are you? so what you are saying is that as soon as the person calls they received a busy signal and then their phone will receive whatever txt your phone is defaulted to send them. And also does their number come up at all?
+1 For Magicall (SMS, no signal, password, drop log, ....)
but not free
+1 for MagiCall, works fine for me on Dutty Holy Grail R0 ROM as well as on Stock one.
Mod edit: Post removed warez is against forum rules.
No Call is a fine-working app.
PLEASE the MOD to move this Thread to the Trash, the Thread is OLD and not actual.
Does somebody know a free app that gives me the possibility to block all Unknown Calls?
Yes, I did search, found some links, like here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307178&page=49&highlight=call+block
But following those links, some apps are paid, others still ring once, etc.
So, just wondering if somebody knows of another app that does what I need?

Phone ring once and cut off.
I am also looking for an app that block unwanted calls and the caller won't even hear any ringing.
What you need is impossible
It's because ringing tone is generated by GSM provider when starting from the moment that cellphone is reached in the network.
Then PDA software must do something with it. It can get it or drop it.
But... try your self, and check how many seconds is the delay between reaching destination and PDA's reaction.
All,
Can you please tell me of a software where I can make different call profiles/groups on my phone like in Nokia phones, where I can define different profiles/groups with contacts and set up call priorities?
For example: I make a profile/group for family and when I activate it only the contacts under that group can call me. If any of the contacts outside that profile call me my phone wont ring or beep.
Is there any such software out there ???

None that I can think of as that would require alot of different permissions from different apps. I know you dont want a temp one, IT was just my way of explaining what you want. you want to be able to Blacklist (so to speak) all other calls except for the ones in the group that you define.
