Asus A636N, doesn't boot after failed upgrade to WM6 - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hello!
Today I tried upgrading my A636N to WM6 using the pachage from the Asus download site ( http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=MyPal A636N ), and I didn't format the SD card to FAT before copying the files to the card. The upgrade tool started flashing, and then gave me an error at 36%. After reboot, the device hanged at the Asus blue screen at startup. It doesn't boot anymore, and the hard reset just gives me a blank screen.
Can anyone help me?
Could I flash the rom through USB? Or what could be done? Any advice is much appreciated!

Atom Exec dead after upgrade

I have an Atom Exec with ROM 20060721B1WWE, Radio RS00011. In the seeO2 website I saw an upgrade (Xda Atom Exec ROM Upgrade (ENG) 20060721B1WWE_RS00013) which is the same ROM but different Radio, supposed to improve quality of calls.
Anyway I went to upgrade it, followed the steps until it said it was uploading it and it would take up to 30 minutes. I went to do something else and when came back the pc screen was saying that the process finished successfully, saying that I had to do a hard reset of the Atom, wait for 30 seconds and then soft restart. I did all of that and all I got it's the O2 screen and doesn't go any further.
Following indication on this forum I launched the bootloader (camera button+reset), conected the usb cable, killed activesync and run again the updater.
The DSUU can see the Atom, says 'Device CE image version:0, Device Radio Image version: (blank) to CE Image version: 7210621, Radio Image version: R060822N_MN2ARC_RS00013.
When I click on Upgrade I get an Error message: Connection error, also on the Atom says '!!! Please use DSUU in OS mode and sync with Pc first !!! USB transfer Fail'
The only backup I did prior to this was using SPB Backup, nothing for the ROM. Is there any other way to upload the ROM?
From the Windows/Temp folder I got the files used by the DSUU:
Device Software Update Utility.exe
diskimage_Ver.nb0
EBOOT.nb0
ExtenderRom.img
nova_pda_033105.mot
vl1d_pda_Ver.mot
I've seen in other forums people recovering iPaqs or Axims using these files and software like romupdate, but I'm afraid it could get worse uploading the diskimage_Ver.nb0 as it is.
Anybody knows a workaround for this?
I ended copying diskimage_Ver.nb0 and eboot.nb0 to an miniSD card. Inserted it in the Atom and lauch the bootloader. It recognized the card and Rom file, started downloading it. After that I got few messages saying some files were missing.
Screen went blank and that's it. Now is completly dead, it won't restart or anything.
I'll have to send it to Hong Kong I guess.

Ipaq h1915 stuck while OS downloading in bootloder mode

Hello everyone..
I had a ipaq 1915 that was on spanish, so i needed to change the language to english.
As I have heard, this could be done only by rom reflashing into the pda.
Very well so far.... As I have searched on the net, I have found two ipaq 1915 working images, one on www.handheld.org at ftp://ftp.handhelds.org/feeds/wince/h1910/wince_1915_eng.zip
and the other one at a bulgarian site, at the url http://pocketz.dl1.vipserver.ru/2006/08/roms/ipaq_1915.rar
I had managed to enter bootloader mode (but don't know how to exit it ( )
I have unpacked the zips and written both images in the SD card using raw mode, with several tools like winhex, dd, XDArit etc..
this occurs without problems so far..
I insert the 512 MB SD card in the pda, stopped wcescomm.exe (activesync), run mtty, show port.
I press enter, I get USB> as i should
commands work generally, so first I try sd2r , downloading from the sd card to the rom...
The bootloader download takes place without problem, but then the pda prompts: OS' downloading, first progress bar at full, second one stuck at 0...
So it never moves, the mtty gets a | and that's it, it's stuck there for hours...
I have tried r2sd, that works without problem, it says complete, hard reset it, but when I try to sd2r, it's the same problem as above..
HELP PLEASE ! I'm stuck in this crappy bootloader... Could my image downloads from those url-s have gotten corrupted? Can you send some md5 hash for the files?
Does someone else have a valid rom image?
Thank you in advance.....
Doesen't anybody know a solution? could the bootloader have taken some errors? I have tried both 1.02 and 1.10 versions...
What cand I do?
What OS version is this image in?
How can I find out? it's WM2002 for ipaq h1915...
It's the one taken from www.handhelds.org... However it stucks simmilary for every image....
I have even tried the image for h1910.... It makes the same problem..
It's the image's fault or the bootloader could have been damaged? What can I do?
HELPPP ON THIS...
Doesen't anyone know?
Should I try JTAG reflashing? I found a pdf showing how to make a cable... I could make that, but would it make any sense? can I flash the entire rom through JTAG, including bootloader + OS without annoying stuck?
thank you and I think I will try this because I have no other sollution.....
try this one
http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=213467
if you fill like trying Something else (you know 2002 os ..) but you can also break your ppc is to try update it with the 4150 rom
you can find it on hp site ,can be interesting
(i know your device has only ir)
any way good luck
Can the jtag be used to flash both os and bootloader or just bootloader?
Could it be possible that after reflashing, the ipaq 1915 enters dirrectly windows, or only the bootloader may be reflashed throught jtag?
thank you for any answers.....

If you didn't successfully complete the flashing process, you can have problems like this. The device needs to reboot several times (follow the instructions given when you launch the .exe file - don't get impatient).
Did you try hard reset first?
I haven't seen any WM6 ROMS for the X51.
Try to do the flash again with Dell's .exe file.
Flashing process was completed successfully. CRC Sum was correct and the screen in bootloader was saingthat he need rebot device by pressingpower button and swith reset. So i do that. But when device restart i sow blue Dell splashscreen long time and nothing else. System in no loading. He stuck on this Dell logo. Firs rom what i install was from PEB.PL on this site and it was WM6.0 PL version A03. football edition desing for Axim x51V. But dell logo wasnt show, device was all the time with black screen. When it doesn't worked i try to install second one ROM: original from Dell website called: R112653.EXE. This time, when i finished i sow Bblue Dell logo and thats all. Device stuck in this logo.
Plase help me rescue my Axim, whatkind of rom i should install now, or what i have to do ?

It's asking you to do a hard reset (power button and reset). This is sometimes tricky. With Axim on (blue splashscreen), hold down power button, push in and quickly release reset pin (at back of device). KEEP HOLDING POWER BUTTON FOR 10 SECONDS. You should get a screen that asks you to press Calendar key (first button) to do hard reset. Push the button and it should do proper hard reset and boot up. I find sometimes that I have to try this 3 or more times before I get the calendar key screen.
I know that. I do that many times. But it doesn't work. Effect all the time is the same one. Always after Hard reset Axim stuck on blue Dell logo. Any else idea?
I found a more recent ROM for X51 on Dell site. Try this ROM and see if it works.
If that doesn't work, then we'll have to extract the .nb0 file from the R112653.EXE onto SD card so it can be loaded through SD bootloader. You would follow the instructions here.

I have the same problem (Dell blue logo screen at startup)
Hi...
I have a Axim X51 too, with the same problem: i try and i try to update the firmware (bricked after a incomplete update via Dell Software), and nothing happens;
Today i have entered in chat with Dell technical support. They recommended to me, to use the R131773.EXE, because my Dell is in Portuguese. Acordding to the atendant, this is the best ROM to use with my X51. (not "v")
Using IMG2NB0F.exe, i have generated
DiAd_K_AximX51_WM5_A04BR.nb0, from the DELL oficial image "AximX51_WM5_A04BR.IMG".
Manually i havce created the DiAd_K_AximX51_WM5_A04BR_nb0.crc with the crc "D9AC0C12".
Using Wirelless + Power + Reset, i have updated my ROM.
But the problem persists: when i turn my PDA on, he freezes at Dell Blue logo.
Can be a bootloader image problem?
Can somebody help in how can i get the DiAd_B_AximX51_WM5_A04BR.nb0 bootloader image? Or i use the same "DiAd_K_AximX51_WM5_A04BR.nb0", just renaming it to "DiAd_B_AximX51_WM5_A04BR.nb0"?
Tanks by the help.
Best regards,
Luiz.
