I am not very happy with the new midlet manager on WM6.
I got CUSTLER's version 2.5 rom on my Jasjam and the midlet manager is "Esmertec Java" (Jeodek Build: 20061013)
When I had the WM 5 rom it was different (TAO I think) and I was able to run a lot more midlets. Now I can't even download jar files from some sites that do not recognize this new Java midlet manager.
Where can I find other midlet managers ?
Thanks
Black has a different Java manager i believe also i think lvsw's roms have a different one i know there is a link to download a cab in black 2.5 or 3.0 if i remember right
I think Black has the same version. LVSW (and some variants) have a more recent build of the Esmertec Java and I've had more success with it.
lvsw 3.30.2.1 has jeodek build 20070115.1.1
so where can I find these ? new or other builds ?
is there a site to download them ?
no download link available ?
on the same topic, are there any midlet managers that don't ask for internet permissions? I want one that connects to retrieve my gmail without asking for permission first...
the old one doesnt work properly on the new build iirc.
what do you mean ?
I can tell you guys now that ive tried 2 builds of the esmertec java manager, and both sucks. Ill wait for intent or another better one!

The JbedJava_20070622_2_1 (Java Midlet Manager) usually included in most WM6 ROMS (Schaps, D-Lite, TNT 2.0... etc.) no longer works starting Sept 1, 2007. Is this some kind of trial version? This is an excellent java manager which I use solely for Opera Mini Beta (Best web browser I've seen so far.. a definite iPhone killer ).
Is there a known fix for this other than resetting the date/time settings everytime I want to use it?
Thanks!
I noticed that same problem was reported here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1480564
SOLUTION FOUND HERE:

perhaps there is some way to use MortScript to automate the date changing? Even if that would work, it'd be frustrating if one needs to check the date while using Opera Mini...
I hate to hijack this thread a little but I've had trouble uninstalling an older version of the Tao IntentMM, and thus, can't install a new version. version 11.1.7.1034 allows things to be installed, but they always end up with the standard "lightbulb" icon, then whenever I try to run the app, it reads "Failed to run the MIDlet". Then when I try to uninstall it, it reads "Failed to uninstall". Is this a known issue? If so, is there a fix?
use the Tao one instead? Seems fine to me running opera min beta

Really? I tried Tao before but it freezes once in a while with Opera Mini Beta. I'll try it again and see what happens.

yeah opera now has beta 2 for the opera mini 4 and so far its alot more stable now!
The Tao Midlet manager sucks..
I prefer running Opera Mini on fullscreen, and you can't do it on Tao. Jbed does it a lot better. It works smoother too..

Unfortunately, still doesn't work.. same thing happens.. it just quits.
(It doesn't create a shortcut on the Programs menu by the way, i just clicked the exe file on the Windows directory)
I didn't notice that same problem was reported here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1480564

You are a lifesaver. Now I can use Opera Mini again! Yay!
Unfortunately, it's an old version and very unstable and NOT fullscreen.
EDIT: Spoke too soon.. it has too many problems.. the dragging doesn't even work. This is not really a solution.
mine still doenst work.. 8( even with the fixes.. 8(
its right just used the Joedek Build: 20070425.1.1.
It's not really a fix. It's just the older version.

You're a java user too.. nice.. that's very comforting.. that means you will really find a way to make this work.
I love your ROM btw.
I'm trying to install Gizmo Project's Gizmo5 on my phone (Hermes running Schap's ROM version 4.30) but the file downloads as a .jad and I can't install it. I noticed I have no java on the phone. How do I get java MIDlet to be able to install this?
TIA

Hi,
Not sure if I placed this in the right thread. I flashed a lite 6.5 ROM that doesn't come with RSS Hub, and after installing a cab for it after, I found that you can't use finger/kinetic scrolling. You would select text instead (don't think it's a problem with preinstalled RSSHub ROMs). Looked after for a fix and couldn't find one...
Anyways, this isn't my work. It's from havox22 over at SPJ. So just replace the .exe (in device or installed in storage) with this one and you're good to go. And it's even .0.0.0.001 version up
Hope it's of some use for someone. Tested on donsalari's clean ROM.. not sure which RSSHub cab I installed before though. It's a 2.1.1.1066.
