I have activated the advanced power feature where my xda2 will turn it off automatically after it is not used for, say, 3 minutes.
Initially my xda2 will turn itself on by an incoming call. However, after some time, my xda2 will not be able to turn on when there is incoming call. Furthermore, I noted that whenever this happen, I am unable to swith it on, even by pressing the Power button. Each time I have to perform a hard reset and that erase all the data in my xda2.
Is there anything that I could do to prevent this from happening? Right now I could only choose to turn off the backlight whenever my xda2 is not in used.
I would appreciate if someone could advise me on how to go about addressing this problem. By the way, I have upgraded my ROM version to 2.06.00WWE.
Hi all,
received my O2 Oribt this morning and have spent most of the day playing around and trying to get it set up. I have tried a few things and failed at a few things and now have some questions.
1) as far as a stand-by mode goes...it just fades out the backlight right? theres no screen saver or blank screen option? I did see an option to turn the unit off after x number of minutes but surely this means it wont receive calls or anything, not much good as a phone when it's turned off.
2) I can't find anywhere where I can set the device name for bluetooth. Is there anywhere to do this?
3) is it possible to change the text message alert tone?
4) I recently read a thread about a T9 input cab. does this allow you to write text messages as in a 'normal' phone - using a number pad and not the keyboard and stylus?
I'm sure I'll have some more questions at some point!!
many thanks for any help
I would start by saying having taken the manual out of the box? and secondly have you actually started to read it.
1/ You are pressing the power button for too long a simple press and release is all that is needed to turn the unit off. Press and hold the power button and the back light goes out (as you have found). The phone part is not actually switched off even with the screen off, if a call comes in it will wake up, you can turn the phone off by putting the device in flight mode, or settings/ Phone.
2/ Why do you want to change the BT device name, it should be the same as the owner IIRC
3/ Start/ Settings/ personal/ Sounds and notifications
4/ Never used that so cannot comment - Mike
Hey all, I have Kavanas latest wm6.1 upgrade on my phone... For some reason my phone does not vibrate anymore, any way to fix this problem? Or is my phone jacked?
I'd bet it's a burned out vibrating motor. Check the Wiki, I think it has a link to figure out how to disassemble and motor's can be had for reasonable prices on eBay where people are usually selling broken Excalibur's just for parts.
That would suck... My phone is 2 weeks old...
same
same thing happened to me but if i go back to the tmo rom it works fine idk y

ok so if you press and hold the "A" key ( also called the # key) for about 3 seconds and the profile changes to vibrate, the phone doesnt vibrate indicating the profile change?

what i mean was if you hold down the #(A) key it will put it into the vibrate profile and the phone will actually vibrate at the same time. which is different from when you manually pick the vibrate profile. i was wondering if you had done this yet. im not saying it will fix your problem, more of a confirmation that your vibrate hardware is fubared or not. so take your phone out of the vibrate profile, then press and hold your "#"(A) key until you see the vibrate icon at the top of your iconbar....see if it vibrates.... if it doesn't your, vibrate hardware is toast.
I guess my phone is toasted huh? I tried, it switched to vibrate... but no vibration... gah, whatevs...
my only suggestion for a last ditch effort would be to either/ and hard reset your phone/Reload the official WM6 ROM from your mobile provider.
If re-loading your stock official ROM seems to make it work again, it's up to you if you want to re-try kavana or rick's WM 6.1 ROM. If you do and it stops again, you may just end up being stuck with the Standard RO mon your phone or if the phone's new, you can complain to your mobile provider and have then replace it for you. (just make sure the official ROM is reloaded on it b-4 you send your in)
That happened to me as well. Turned out it was the vibrator motor that was slightly disconnected (probably due to a fall). Took about 5 minutes to get it working again. It's just a matter of opening the back plastic. With the right set of tools, you'll have it done and diagnoses in no time. Even if you need to get a new vibrator motor, it's pretty cheap. Just Google it around.
about two nights ago i was on the phone using speakerphone, my phone was also hooked up to my computer but activesync wasn't working so i did a soft reset which seems to always fix that. what i did was that i told the person i was on the phone with that i would call them back and i did a soft reset while on the phone with them while it was on speakerphone instead of hanging up. when my phone turned on again i noticed that the speakerphone icon was in the title bar and apparently speakerphone was on. i made a phone call but speakerphone actually wasn't on, i pressed the button to try and turn it off but it didn't, i opened up the menu options and tried to shut it off from there but also failed. i've done a soft reset but that didn't work, i've looked around for a bout a day and a half but i haven't found anything. i am really trying to avoid a hard reset but unless someone can help me out i think i might have to
any help is greatly appreciated
fixed!
i installed a program called Speakerphone that automatically turns on your speakerphone when you have an incoming call having it automatically turn on re-enabled the "speakerphone off" key
Hi,
I have a Blue Angel (XDA IIS) that has been flashed with WM6.1. I have been using it for a few years until recently that I got this weird problem.
While the phone is idle, suddenly the volume increases automatically by itself, as if some one pushes the volume slider up, and keeps pushing it. As a result, the speaker keeps beeping as the volume already hitting the max.
After awhile, it will then stop. For a short while later, it starts again. While this is happening, I cant turn off the phone using the power button on the top. But I can turn off the backlight by doing a long-press.
I have tried to reflash the firmware and also did a hard reset, but it doesnt solve the problem.
Anyone has encountered this weird problem? The buttons seem to work fine when not in that weird condition. If it is not software problem (since I reflashed it) and hardware (buttons work fine in normal situation), what else could it be?
Any idea anyone? Really appreciate some advice.
Rgds,
CH
