MDA III Newbie

Hi Guys,
Just go my MDA III today and have been adding contacts etc and just get my head around this device.
For Info:
Rom Version: 1.06.00 ENG
Rom Date: 08/05/04
Radio Version: 1.00.00
Protocol Version: 1337.30
ExtROM Version: 1.06.160 ENG
I have read the threads and know that I need to update some of the above. I was hoping that as this was NEW, that TMobile would send with the newer versions.....I guess that was asking too much.

Password Issue!

Hi all! Last week i acquired an MDAIII, came across this site and have to say it's pretty amazing the wealth of knowledge exhibited here in regards to anything HTC based. Love the phone but a bit disappointed with a few things. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Originally shipped as :
Rom ver: 1.06.00eng
Rom date: 08/05/04
Radio ver: 1.00.00
Protocol ver: 1337.30
Ext rom: 1.06.160eng
BT ver: 1.0.0 Build 3500
Model no: PH20B
Then yesterday with the help of info gather here, upgraded it to:
Rom ver: 1.40.00wwe(i-Mate)
Rom Date: 03/10/05
Radio ver: 1.13.00
Protocol ver: 1337.42
Ext rom: 1.40.176wwe
BT ver: 1.0.0 Build 3900
Pretty much everything seems stable except that:
1) i now have a gprs icon on the top bar that i cant get rid of(dont need gprs,use wifi), and the password lock doesn't activate itself anymore after the 5min preset.It used to flawlessly before the upgrade.
2).One other thing is that if i recieve a call from the same person, sometimes caller id shows the name then sometimes only the number.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

I am new to this forum and to this hardware and I am trying to find some help regarding rom upgrade to my unit.
My unit has the following info:
O2 XDA EXEC
Rom version: 1.13.48 WWE
Rom date: 09/19/05
Radio version: 1.04.02
Protocol version: 42.37.P8
ExtROM version: 1.13.139 WWE
My questions are:
Should I upgrade?
If so, to what version? Please let me know where to find it and what should I expect?

yes.. u shud indeed
upgrade it to Jwrightmcps new rom 1.90.96 WWE
and expect much better speed and additional featues which are built in the rom like usb hard disc, CompactFramework 2.0 SP1... etc etc

I tryed to upgrade but I received the country id error and the program did not go through.
Is there a way to overcome this?

Please tell me can i upgrade my Imate PDA2k

Which one run on WM3 and wish to upgrade from 2003 to wm6 or wm5.
I am not that computer save so need little bit more explanation to do.
