TV/AV out for Universal - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Accessories

Hi, All
Can anyone offer any help as to how to setup tv/av out, which cables and software are required??
I have just been watching someone plug their Nokia N95 into a tv set and I have to say I am very impressed, the picture's and video's look great, so easy to setup plug and play.
Thanks

Not really.
You can use Webcamera Plus to do this. It allows the PPC to stream video to the PC from the PPC's camera or screen.
You need:
WebCamera Plus Application by AtekSoft (Just google it)
ActiveSync connection
PC with TV out
Well yeah.. it's not as easy as with the Nokia N series since they had it already built-in the hardware.

Hi to everybody, I went to see this device (quoted) yesterday, it is a very nice thing indeed, it could open lots of possibilities to our devices, I think that it could be a very desirable thing for any "bussiness man" who owns one of these devices.
I already asked to the maker about price, availability, distributors and even minimum orders with them, I've just had an answer, they are asking about the requested quantity, so, if there's someone really interested, come ahead, we might get a beatiful ad on at a good price.

Hi! kecido, I'm excited with this device but I went thorough their webside, it works only from our main memory. Normally all our files we kept in memory card like ppt, video. So is there any other way to solve this since our maim memory so little. If I got solution for this matter I will buy this device. TQ

i dont think there can be a solution to this.... the hardware you're attaching is through an sd slot meaning you have to remove your sdcard...
why dont you use your ext rom / flash disk instead? just a thought though..

I'm in the same situation...I tryes BBConnect, but it makes the Trinity too slow...and furthermore I didn't get the appropriate account set up, in fact no way to sync with MS xchange...
It would be great having a fast way to "replicate" the account from my BB...and dismiss it 4ever!
Anyone else?
I tried BBConnect 4.0 without success, i missed to activate the option on sim card.

why won't it work?
BBConnect 4.0 should be available for download from the carriers.
Will your IT staff let you?

Have you confirmed with your internal technology straff that they will allow you to use a non-Blackberry device with the Blackberry service? I know there are now ways to use non-Blackberry devices with the Blackberry service (even if they don't work well), but your internal IT people will have to configure your account to do so.
I asked my IT people to do that for me and they completely refused. The reason they use Blackberry (instead of Microsoft exchange, etc.) is because with Blackberry, they have total control over how I use my Blackberry, so they can close any security holes and otherwise restrict my use of the device. For example, we can't use the SD card on our phones, can't use Messaging, and can only use the Blackberry browser for the Internet. While this sucks as a user, it lowers their cost to support since there is much less chance that I will install a rogue application or otherwise screw up my Blackberry and then expect them to help.
If they're willing to let you use it, I'd definitely say go for it, but be aware that at some point you're probably going to have tot tell them that they need to update their server information to start sending the mail to a new device ID. When you do this, they're probably going to ask why, which could open a whole can of worms...
Good luck!
Mike
I would like to use my P3600 i.o. the BB. In this case I could avoid having 2 devices...I asked my IT dept and, as you stated, they did not support it. Now, is there a way to use BB on my P3600 with no help rom the IT dept?
I have the P3600, the BB, and 2 TIM wih the same number (1 normal +1 twincard). Obviuously, I do not want to dismiss my P3600 and use only the BB!!! PLEASE HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!
any other help ?
please....!!!
As far as I know, you can have BB connect working, by using the DOPOD WM5 ROM and BB Connect version 2.1.2.52
You should try, it will work.
BBConnect will work with WM6 on Trinity.
Search this forum for bbconnect_wm6_professional_bb_4_1_.0.0.90.exe this is the BBConnect install for Trinity WM6
Ensure that your SIM has been enabled for Blackberry before you install. The rest is easy.
Good Luck!

Android - Wing Linux 0.4pre4 is out

Hi,
For those interested in the effort to port Android to the Excalibur, wing-linux android 0.4pre4 has been released with support for the Excalibur. Installation should be pretty easy (must install to the micro SD card).
For details and download: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/wing-linux/wiki
This project is looking for more developers, so you're welcome to join.
Please Note: to reset your device after using android you'll have to take out the battery. As mentioned, the software does not install to the phone's ROM, so it's nice and safe no flashing!
Biggest issue is that sound doesn't work yet. GSM works if your SIM card has no pin. For information on setting up GPRS, please see the wing-linux forum.
Please test all you can, and report back either here, or even better at the wing-linux forum.
Cheers,
Update:
To fix the problem that the console is rotated the wrong way, after installing, go to the linux folder on the SD card and edit the "default.txt". In the CMDLINE variable, remove "fbcon=rotate:3".
For those of you that want a normal linux console, i.e. so Android doesnt start automatically, change the "4" on the end of this line to a "3" (this is the runlevel)
help
Can you hel me? I want to know if i can to install this so on my excalibur telcel (mexico) and how can i install it?
thanks

Hey great news......
Good going ..........
Hats off to all the geniuses on this project,
and a special thanks to UCCELLINO to get it on our beloved DASH
Hey Just one question ,
Is it the same cab for all the models ?
Tested
Tested!
And...
Success!
It works...
Since it is nowhere near finished ill mention only the cool things...
D-pad works and all of the other buttons too... (qwerty including)
Amazingly good integration for non touch screen phone... (I could almost imagine using it)
I would played bit more with it but to my biggest disappointment
THE SCREEN IS INTERLACED AND FLASHING(flickering) ALL THE TIME
Tested on MDA Mail
I almost forget: Thanks to all the involved geniuses...
I still can't believe it works, simply amazing
woohoo!!!!!!!
cant get it to start it fails and takes me to command prompt
Anyone has screenshot of this new Wing Linux?
Hi,
Thank you for doing this testing... the interlaced screen issue does not happen on my device... maybe there really are different models. I will check this out - it is probably a problem with screen timings. If you want to help, check out the Excalibur forum on the wing-linux forum and try another device profile.... Once I know what other device worked better for you, I can try and support it better within the Excalibur profile.
For other people: there is one main cab to install and then another smaller one to set it up for the Excalibur.
Once again, thank you to all for the help in testing! Next step is working audio and then we can really be on our way

What process did you go through exactly... this may be a bug can you give me any more info?
Just some points:
it must install to the micro SD, which needs atleast 250+ MB free available
you must install two cabs, the main one and then a little one for the Excalibur
in theory, if you do get to a command prompt, you can log in and use linux to start android.

Sorry, no screenshots as yet. But it runs Android Cupcake, and pretty fast too (for an old phone). Really, this project is going somewhere, and Android is very usable on the device with such a great keyboard.
Perhaps a very techy person could make a little video?
All you need is an micro SD card, may be 30minutes and being prepared to pull your battery when you're done...
If you're a linux programmer, that'd be cool too.. I desperately need info on how to reset the Excalibur in software
Cheers

!!! Rosetta Stone for Windows Mobile !!!

Hello everyone, I was wondering if it is possible to have “Rosetta Stone” the language learning software running on HTC Rhodium: Touch Pro2, Tilt 2. I am currently trying to learn Tagalog spoken in the Philippines. I would be very thankful if someone can help me out on this. I am never home since I am a part time student and working full time so this would help me out greatly. If someone can help me out I would be very thankful and as a promise I will buy you a drink
I have tried converting software to convert language files (but I don’t know where to ever start)
I have searched online but majority of the post were at least 2 year old and did not help at all.
I have Rosetta stone on my PC which downloaded form torrents and it is installed but I have to use Power ISO. To mount the language CD and then study.
Also I am a noob therefore detail guide would be greatly appreciated thank you very much.
Someone please help me out!!!!!!!!
Thank you everyone in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!
unless the company has released a mobile version of the ap.... nope. You're stuck learning on your PC or laptop.

You cant just convert an .exe to a.cab fine and pop it in the phone and have it run. You would basically have to rewrite an entire new program.
Do a GOOGLE for Rosetta Stone WM there are lots of options out there on other forums that cannot be posted on this forum

you can convert the downloaded torrent files to mp4 using "videora htc touch pro2 converter"...i have some p90x videos on my tp2...videora converts everything...lol...best of all its free...you may want to convert it while you sleep cause it can be a little slow, depending on the quality you select...
i know this isn't really what you meant but couldn't you run it through remote desktop? i think there a way to have the sound come out through the device speakers.

There is a slight problem with your solution: rosetta stone isn't videos, it's interactive software so you can't just convert it and make it smaller. I think the best solution is just to use RDC. If you tried to put language cds on your phone it would slow to a crawl if not more trying to read the large files.
Thx Everyone!!
Thank you everyone but i guss i have no option than to sit on my PC and study which is like 20 to 30 min a day . I would have been very helpfull since i spend 2 to 3 traveling each day. If anyone figus out anyway please let me know and i would be very thankfull.

I don't think the dude knew what he was talking about. I have been longing for a mobile version of Rosetta Stone forever.
Can't one install Linux or something on the phone and then run the app from there?
Tried a session through remote desktop, only problem is that Rosetta Stone in full-screen wasn't really full-screen, wrong aspect ratio and hence a significant part of the right screen on my phone went unused. I couldn't get speech recognition to work either. Anyone have an idea on how to enable a bluetooth microphone to send audio to the pc from the phone remotely?
adjust remote desktop setting to have it adjust the screen size tot he size fo your phone screen. you can also adjust the color quality there.
Could be. I still need to know how to map my microphone to the remote session and then have Rosetta Stone use the microphone for its own purposes.
since when does Rosetta Stone use a microphone? do you mean speakers?
since it exist!

Chuwi Vi8 Questions?
Thank you very muchfor the great review zijin_cheng
I have some questions about this great tablet, i would really appreciated if you can answer
what is the available free space in Windows and Android partitions?
Is it possible to remove Android partition and extending Windows partition?
Is there any recovery partition, if yes, how much space is allocated by recovery?
Is it possible to install windows 10 to this tablet?
Is it possible to use WIMBOOT method for more free space?

No problem!
- It started with about 7GB free on Windows, and 4GB free on Android. 13GB total is allocated to the C:\ drive on Windows, and 7GB total for the Android partition.
- At the moment no, but I'm quite sure some resourceful XDAer will figure out a way.
- Yes, its 7GB (5.43GB + 1GB)
- Yes, but I believe that it will be more difficult due to the dual boot nature of this tablet
- I'm not sure, I haven't tried. However, I followed this guide to get more free space (as I also have the Asus T100)
Thank you very much
Nice cross-post from RFD, and great review!!
The Chuwi (and most other tablets like this) use WIMBOOT, where the recovery partition *is* the OS drive, and and changes and patches get saved to the C: to preserve the installation for recovery when needed.
There have been multiple successful attempts to install Windows 10, you need an OTG adapter so you can use a USB stick and a mouse/keyboard. General consensus is it works well, but probably best to wait for a later or full release version. A Google search will find you instructions though if you're looking to
do it immediately.
As for partition removal, I haven't really seen it discussed, but I'm sure there's a utility to nuke the unwanted partitions. Though you could just order the single OS version that only comes with Windows, but that model is missing the microHDMI.
Hello everybody,
just bought this tablet with dual boot. So in case if I want to reinstall the installed windows 8.1, how can I do it? After the reinstall, will the android system still be there?
Thanks
from singleboot to dualboot?
Hi! I also have this amazingly cheap tablet but I ordered it when the dualboot was not in stock.
Now I'm wondering if it is possible to actually make my windows 8.1 table into a dualboot with android.
I have downloaded android x86 and installed it on a partition but I just cant find out how to actually make the UEFI-bios boot from it. Also since I wasnt unable to boot from usb (no matter what settings I changed in the bios) I couldn't install the android system straight off the bootable usb so i installed it on another system and copied the contents to the new partition. I imagine that it wont work even if I actually succeed to make it boot from another partition.
Has anyone tried to install android as a second OS in this tablet? Please tell me how :S
Best regards
Matthew
The HDMI out on this unit, is it strictly mirror, or does it have the ability to show two separate Desktop?

Hey man, I'm believe so, but you have to make sure you choose the correct option when you go into the "factory reset" portion of the tablet itself.

So far all the videos of this tablet have only shown mirroring, no extended desktops, but I'm sure it can be done, if not with Windows maybe another piece of software.
Bluetooth keyboard on Chuwi Vi8
Hi guys, This a pretty silly questions, I wonder if anybody with this tablet has bought it whit the Chinese Bluetooth keyboard, and knows whether there is any way to use ESC and function buttons that appear in blue, on the upper keys. Using Fn+ any of these keys would do whatever but ESC or F1, F2, F3 etc. For instance, key 0... Fn+0 = Volume down, but not F10.
I have searched about this on the internet but haven't got any info.
Does anybody have the same issue? It'pretty frustrating when using excel on windows 8.1. I. I have the dual boot version whatsoever.
Cheers
Very good tablet, but last week I bought a Onda V919 3G Air, otherwise, I will buy this tablet.

Hey man I haven't bought the bluetooth keyboard with the Chuwi, but I've had problems with bluetooth keyboards in general as only basic keys work such as letters, shift, not even ctrl sometimes. Did the keyboard come with any software? Try to google the brand and see if there are any drivers.
And you're using excel on your Chuwi? Props! That's difficult!

Well, it doesn`t have a brand serial number or anything, I guess it is just generic hardware, it works very well, but anyways, maybe the ESC and Function buttons are fake.
In that case, there might be an app to reassign keys, I will check that.
And yes, using excel with chuwi, just to input lab data on the go, and analyse it with some charts, not a big deal.
I have this tablet and this is sick man its incredible that I have boot os on just one table this tablet would be perfect ithey would be with 64gb internal storage that of couse next gen will it have it . I really recommend this tablet hope some xda programer member open a tread and make custom rms and some root stuff hehehe the best 2015 130 dollar gadget XD
Decent enough for the price I paid.
Two gripes I do have, even so.
1) Screen expansion seems broken on Windows, if I turn it on, the tablet screen goes dark. Anyone managed to get both screens working at the same time?
2) It seems like USB OTG with simultaneous charging does not work - any chance to fix that?

I think the Chuwi Vi8 only supports screen mirroring, you'll need to find another piece of software
It's the USB OTG cable itself, you need one that supports both, something like this:

Anyone able to install Google Plus? Won't work for me.
Edit, fix here
