Hi All,
I have a UK O2 XDA Orbit with an O2 Sim...
For some reason I don't seem to be able to receive MMS messages from Virgin on it.... The GPRS kicks in and it looks like its downloading and then stops.... within a couple of days I get a message to say it couldn't be downloaded and do I want to reject it.....
MMS from other mobile companies seem to get to me fine.... this is the first time I've had this problem...
I have tried sending to an O2 X2i and gets there no problem.... so I'm guessing its my phone... also texts from Virgin get through fine...
Anyone had anything similar..
Many Thanks in advance
Gaz
Hi all, just a bump really..... maybe try to rephrase slightly
Has anybody received MMS messages from a Virgin mobile on a O2 equiped XDA orbit successfully.
This could be down to the settings on the virgin phone, but this is probably unlikely as we can succesfully send MMS to another O2 phone...
Many thanks.
Gaz
I have the same problem using Vodafone.... Have changed GPRS settings, and it connects and LOOKS like it's transferring, however it doesnt actually send...

Hello
Recently unlocked my xda 2s using the little program that I downloaded from this site, and it worked perfect first time, but now I cant get the MMS to work. I have setup the wap connection as described at http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html
and I can connect, I have also configured the mobile web and that works fine too, I can email surf the web, but still no mms.
I found http://www.mobileshop.org/usertech/mms.htm which describes what the MMS setting should be, I entered them and still no joy.
I checked my account with vodafone and the mms function is active.
I got a friend to send me a mms and i received it okay, but I cant send.
Has anyone done this before ?
Is there an idiots guide somewhere ?
Cheers in advance for any help
Hello all!! I have an O2 Xda Exec, that im using in the U.S. with T-Mobile, I got the "T-Zones" to work so I am able to to browse the web, the only thing I am unable to do is download MMS, I input all the codes with the help of T-mobile tech group,( whom were really helpful.) Does anyone out there know what I'm doing wrong ? I have done all that I know, This isn't my first Windows based phone..thank you all in advance.
I know there are a couple of threads about this already but mine is a little different.
I got O2 XDA Orbit from ebay - put in my VodafoneUK sim card and everything works fine, MMS, GPRS, Internet and even GPS (don't know if the last one matters) - I haven't upgraded or changed any software or anything but my SMS text messages won't work - they sit in outbox for a minute or so then I get the error msg "your text message cannot be sent".
Ant help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Silly question but does the actual phone work - ie can you call out OK?
Can you receive messages?
My Orbit will receive OK but not always send in a poor signal area.
Stew,
Sorted It!!!!
To your answer sloss yes everything else works but I know what it is now.
I tried Start>Settings>Phone>Services...Voicemail and Text Messaging...select and then Get Settings........BUT it actually receives the WRONG yes the WRONG message centre number from the network.
Got a friends UK Vodafone phone and just copied his message centre number and Viola it worked fine, I'm so happy I could cry!!
Just thought this might help some others who may be having this problem.
Hi,
I use Arcsoft MMS 5.0.31.7 installed on Artemis v32 M2D rom using Vodafone UK. I have a problem with multiple MMS messages. If I send myself an MMS then I get one copy immediately, 1 after 3 hours annother one 2 hours later and a final copy after 3 days!!!
Has anyone else had this problem? I don't know if it is a problem with my phone or Vodafone?
Updated: Still got this issue. Anyone else got the same problem or can confirm they only get one MMS on Vodafone UK like you should do?

I've still got the problem with multiple MMS messages. Has anyone got the same issue on Vodafone UK or can anyone confirm that they are OK and only get one message?

Looks like if you set the retry count to 1 in mms options you won't get this.
However this is a workaround. I believe the cause is on Vodafone's network as this has happened on different phones and rom's for me (All Windows Mobile Phones!).

Thank you for the reply. I tried that one and it doesn't work. I do have some information on what it is though. The artemis should send a POST HTTP message back to the MMSC's once it has downloaded the MMS. But it is using the wrong URL. It should be sent to the MMSC itself but is sending the post back to the url of the content location for the incomming messsage. This is wrong.
Still no closer to the solution though!
Not found any registry setting for where the POST is sent.
This has been breached a few times on forum, but havent as yet seen an answer....
On O2 all my recieved picture messages get resized incredibly small!! In turn i cannot, irrespective of settings, send MMS messages!!!
Have any other Rhodium users on [email protected] (contract) managed to rectify this issue???
O2 help have been zero help- not their phone, dont do the phone and dont care effectively.

I'm not sure about your issues of not being able to send MMS - the automatic settings worked for me.
Receving MMS is different, and I had to fool o2 into thinking I was using a Nokia N95. The o2 network doesn't recognise the Touch Pro 2, so scales the size of the pics to a default (i.e. tiny) size that it is sure will work.
