HTC Remote Control Radio Cutout Problem - P3300, MDA Compact III Accessories

Hello,
I've just received the HTC remote control/headphone adapter, loaded the drivers on my XDA Orbit and all seemed well - all buttons working as they should.
My problem is with that when listening to the radio via the remote control the radio cuts out after 3 minutes when the phone goes to sleep. The same happens when I hit the power button while listening. Basically the radio thinks that the headphone got disconnected and stops playing. With the orinigal headphones, the radio keeps playing even when the phone goes to sleep (I've tested this following the driver install and it still works fine with the original headphones).
Is anyone else having this problem or know a solution? The main reason I bought the remote was for the radio support
Thanks in advance,
Alex

have you checked the power settings found on the ppc at
Start > Settings > System tab > Power
you may have to untick the option to power off after 3 mins when running off the battery or keep the phone on charge while using the radio.

you need to install the Audio Driver Update for the P3300 from HTC's website. The problem is well described (well, by me) on the internet if you google a bit or search in this site.
e.g.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-307388.html
for the driver:
http://www.europe.htc.com/support/software/htcp3300.html
HTC has been very sloppy with the release driver of this headphone and it does not allow you to use those buttons on the remote by other applications apart from WMP/HTC Audi Manager and the FM Radio app.

A2DP/AVRCP in Crossbow

Hello there.
I'm a newbie to using A2DP/AVRCP, sorry about that, but I have big issues.
I have huge lag when trying it out.
Specs:
HTC Universal
Midget's WM6 (Crossbow)
Radio 1.14
Bootloader 1.01?
Sony DR-BT20NX (really nice ones).
Anyways. I pair it up, no problemo at all. Tried a few calls. Works fine. Selected both handsfree and wireless stereo from profiles ofcourse.
So, I tried playing a movie in TCPMP. Audio and Video stutters every second. Tried playing a MP3 file in Media Player. Audio lag every second.
DAMN!
So, I went in to all these threads about A2DP/AVRCP in the forum (read them before) and checked out fixes etc. Everything seems to already be applied in this ROM. Priority256 value exists (in another folder though as described for another device, HKLM/BuiltIn/Drivers/WavDev I think)
What the heck can I do? I'm not comfortable applying different patches because I think A2DP support in every manner is already applied, so as the registry values.
HELP ME!!
Following the development/information on MS BT Stack change to Widcomm BT Stack on following links

Any one know more?
Just a thought. Is it possible to deactivate SBC (recoding/decoding) of MP3's?? My Sonys support direct MP3 streaming.

Tried out BT Stack change for Hermes patch/program.
TEST RESULTS ON UNIVERSAL WITH WM6 (Midget aka Helmi unreleased)
Sound IS great. But other than that, this program does not work very well on my device. Of course this is designed for Hermes but I gave it a shot.
Issues:
1:
Screen flickers (only when this BT is turned on).
Flickers really bad and unable to use device.
Fix: set the device to standby (power button) and wake it up again. Flickering gone
2:
Once BT is deactivated for a few minutes I can't start it again.
Fix: No fix found yet. Only a Soft-reset and directly activate BT works.
3:
I can't use my GSM/UMTS connection anymore. Trying endlessly. Even after soft-reset's I can't connect. WiFi works fine though.
Fix: No fix found yet.
4:
Unable to uninstall this program. Tried several times. I get to the "Soft Reset Device Yes/Cancel". I soft reset, program still there and working.
5:
Hard-Reset, complete setup with WAP, MMS, MAIL etc.
Installed Widcomm BT Stack again.
Soft-reset:
Screen flickering (fix)
No 3G/UMTS connection avalible anymore. Even when BT stack is completly shut down.
We need a specific one for our Universal. Who's up to fixing this for us?
KEEPING this post updated.
EDIT 06: 18:40 @ 21/01/07
ANYONE into programming/developing interested in taking this as a sideproject so all of us Universal users can benefit from this great software?
PS. No, Nuclear (aka Infidel)! Pleace do not participate in other than testing. And if you do, please don't be too exited and write lies/bs in this thread. Thank you. Ta ta
I'm currently using Midget's WM6 with a set of Motorola HT820 bluetooth headphones without any problems.
In fact I've tried a couple of WM6 roms now and both have had working a2dp & avrcp and if anything quality is as good as the AKU3.3 I was previously running.
AVRCP & connecting up seems to be a little more reliable than the last rom as that would occasionally lose the pause control, something I don't think has happened on WM6 yet.
It might be worth trying your device with a different set of bt headphones to see if the problem persists.

Hmm. Headphones shouldn't matter, should it?? It's one thing if the sound in my headphones is bad, but it is the DEVICE that has problems actually outputting to the recoder fast enough. It works fine with the Widcomm!!

Did you need to do any extra tweaking on Midgets ROM to get them to work properly?

i've hs-12W. I'm using it with midget's first vanilla crosbbow rom without any problems. without any tweaking.
I have tried the broadcomm stack on WM6 but couldn't get my jabra bt620s stereo phones to connect to both the headset AND stereo profile at the same time - if I connected it to the stereo profile, then it sounded great, with no log, but wouldn't act as a headset. If I connect it as a headset, it works fine, but all audio is mono, even stuff that shouldn't be. Should I be able to get this working for both at the same time?
Worked straight away without needing any tweaking.
Both stereo & phone headset work okay.
Also had Stereo configured with Universal and Phone paired with a hermes since getting a second data SIM and that setup is working okay as well.

Is it true that this headset can store two pairing profiles (ie I can have them paired with my Qtek and my PC)?

Can't use wired remote w100 with artemis

i can't use button on remote except play, talk and end
other button can't work
i use rom which is WM6 and try to donwload audio driver from htc website
when i install this driver the message show "you have latest version driver"
so i can't install this driver and i try .cab file from trinity club (remote control Y-cable) it work after install
but when i soft reset i can't hear any sound from my device with and without remote
help me please
i use cab file from trinity (thank you super sheep) it work with my artemis
i can use all function on w100 remote
but after i soft reset my phone have no sound everything
how i fix this ?
Works ok with mine - but not through the htc y splitter
What media player are you using?, I've found remote will only work with audiomanager and wmp - not others such pocketplayer
Yes, it only works with audio manager and WMP.
I'm having my own problems trying to get it towork on a custom rom.. piece of crap.
it works fine on mine now, i just restarted the phone with it left plugged in and now it works :S... but the only problem i get is, i can press the power button on the phone while playing a song in htc audio manager and it continues to play, which is great, but the second i press a button on the remote, i.e. skip track, it turns the screen on and goes to htc audio manager, and then it wont turn the screen off by its self.
any ideas

A2DP - Automatic Stereo Audio

I have searched around XDA and haven't found a solution to this yet.
I have a wireless transmitter to play music in my car. When I turn bluetooth on it automatically turns on 'Hands-Free' but doesn't turn on 'Stereo Audio'.
Previously on my Kaiser (with a different car kit) turning on the transmitter set it up automatically.
I have tried AutoA2DP (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530932) but I'm not sure it worked - it certainly hasn't achieved the effect I want (although it does seem to open Media Player when I connect now).
Anyone found a solution on the TP2?
Cheers,
I did have take a quick look at my TP2, because I had no problem with the connection. My car radio (Sony Xplod) gives 2 icons... 1 from the hands-free and the other of my Audio. I've looked in my settings for you, and found one option what must be checked. It's something like: Make a seperate connection for handfree and audio! (I'm guissing to that sentence becuase I have a dutch ROM!)
Hope it helped you!
greetz
EDIT:
Just did take a closer look into my car, and now it also didn't take the extra connection with my sterio audio. This is the solution:
Go to Com Manager
Press Setting
Press Bluetooth
Take the second tab
And tap than Sterio Audio
Now He's saying he's trying to make a connection e voila! Now it's playing music true your car audio!
(This is the way with TF3D2!'

Yes - I've been doing this every time I get in my car - I just wish there was a way of doing it automatically (and then preventing the message 'You can't control audio via this headset' or similar).
Cheers,
Jim.
Hi,
Same problem in my car. Same car radio working with two (Sony Ericsson) phones I used before. They always connected immediately (both 'Hands-Free' + 'Stereo Audio). Strange that the TP2 is not comfortable with this simple task. Indeed, I think the option "Connect separately to Bluetooth hands-free and stereo audio services" should be unchecked but despite this option, the TP2 is still waiting for the appropriate tap. Going to BT settings and tapping 'Stereo Audio' each and every time is frustrating and uncomfortable.
Added subscription to this topic.
I'm a bit frustrated too with the AD2P auto connect problem.
I have a Sony MEX-BT3700U Car radio.
When I sit in my car, the handsfree function connects automatically with no hassle.
But not the Stereo Audio (A2DP) function. I connect it via the Bluetooth settings. After that it works great.
The problem is I'm always focused to activate AD2P manually first before I drive and forget that I have yet to start the car. So I have to start over. Going to settings > Bluetooth Settings etc. etc. ANNOYING!
So. I tried A2DP Toggle in combination with A2DP Auto Connect. Doesn't work.
Went searching for hours... But nothing. Think it has todo with the different BT Stack compared to other HTC's.
Still hoping for a solution.
@Ramsfan_Jim: which wireless transmitter are you using? I'm thinking of buying one to use w/my TP2. My factory head unit (VW Monsoon) doesn't support bluetooth.

I originally used a Venturi Mini - which had the advantage that it automatically set up handsfree & audio transmission as soon as I turned it on, but unfortunately it broke (repeatedly) with regular use.
I now use this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-MP3-FM-Transmitter-Bluetooth-Handfree-w-2-Remotes_W0QQitemZ250445424484QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item3a4fb5e764&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A6%7C72%3A1683%7C293%3A7%7C294%3A25 which is much sturdier - and seems to have a stronger signal. However, I have to change the bluetooth settings on the TP2 to enable Stereo Audio each time I connect.
Warning - this is a much bigger device, so dependent on where your cigarette lighter is in the car, it may get in the way. I had to buy an extension lead to move it so I could use the gearstick!
Newsflash.
Found out how to auto connect to my bluetooth car radio with my TP2.
I have a radio channel bar (or whatever it's called in english) from one to six. There's a "pause/play" description small above the number five. I accidentally pressed it and it suddenly connected my phone through AD2P.
So just press play and it gets connected. So no software needed for me.
I don't use a BT car radio but I do have a stereo BT and a regular BT headset. The stereo BT has both Handsfree and A2DP profiles. But since I use the A2DP only, in my Kaiser under BT Services I unchecked the Handsfree profile and now my stereo BT autoconnects every time.
ChriX84: thanx, very interesting information, will try it tonight in my car !
Another interesting info (might be useful in terms of a .cab file preparation...): a "BT Mono" (i.e. not Stereo Audio (A2DP)) with a very low volume signal is obtained (in my car radio at least) when pressing the "Play" button on the media player (Core or WMP) while still having Stereo Audio option switched off under the BT settings.

This worked for me too. Was bugging me to the extent where I wasn't bothering streaming audio any more!
Nice tip
I always burned new mp3 cd's or connected my mp3player/phone through a aux-cable.
Bluetooth Stereo Music is a huge step forward for me. The ease of using one device for everything. Calling, playing music without any cables. Thank god for that invention.

What exactly is a radio channel bar? Do you mean like a media widget or radio widget?
Personally this a2dp bug is a deal breaker for me. I primarily use my device for audio streaming.

The bar with all the channel buttons. 1,2,3,4,5 etc.
Above or under those buttons there are little symbols with play/pause etc.

[Q] Bluetooth works with calls but not media audio

I have looked through 16 pages and have not found a solution.
My day old verizon G3 works with phone calls, but thats it. Audio wont play with videos or music when paired with bluetooth headphones
I have tried google play music and power amp.
I have rebooted the phone several times.
switched from dalvik and ART.
I have paired and Unpaired.
Tried every setting I can think of.
The Bluetooth headphones are Motorola S11 HD
They work fine on my computer, tablet, G2, note 3

Similar issue
I too own a Verizon LG G3 that I purchased recently. I also have a pair of LG Tone Ultras that I am having trouble with. I mainly use them for music and the occasional call. I've found that when I turned off phone audio under Settings > Bluetooth, I'm able to listen to music, which is nice, but the control buttons on the Bluetooth headset don't work, which is a mediocre workaround. Since I've tried a hard reset with no luck, I'll be contacting lg because at the very least, their own peripheral should work with their phone.

my device is rooted. i did a factory reset but the problem remains unfixed. please help.
Bump same issue here
Sent from my LG-D851 using Tapatalk
Didn't have any issues until a couple days ago, then the phone stopped playing music through bluetooth. Phone is set to allow media through blutooth for my car connection, my cat says the phone is connected as a phone and as an audio device. I dunno what went wrong. Occasionally I am able to get it to work again by resetting, but it stops working again after a while.
I've noticed this same behavior.
I found that if I go into the Bluetooth settings I can uncheck the "media" option for the device, then check it again, and it will work until the next time I connect. Not a graceful solution by any means, but it keeps me listening until something more useful comes up.

Simple Solution for Me, LG G3 Audio Streaming
Well I had this problem. I could make calls and they worked fine, voice and sound.
I could not get streaming media to play but I could see that the songs were registering on my car display.
I tried everything, the settings on the phone, re-pairing. etc. Nothing worked.
I just found out that it was a more simple problem. Somehow the bluetooth volume got turned down and all I did was turn it up while testing the problem on another car stereo. Maybe it'll work for you, just turn up the volume while attempting to stream music to your stereo on your LG G3. There are various volume settings on the phone for different things. I have no idea how the volume could have been turned down, that low. It takes holding it a few seconds of holding for the volume to go back up. I have not adjusted the volume on the phone in some time....so maybe it is bug, dunno. Maybe its just an easy accidental thing, turning down the volume. I never adjust the volume on the phone with the back buttons, too hard to get to. That is how I turned up the volume in this case, back button on the LG G3
This is not the solution I read about where you can call someone, turn up the volume then the media stream works. I guess these could be related but not what I did.
Same problem (not fixed)
I've got the same problem with my lg g3 and mpow Thor headphones, I need quick help please
It must be the phone cause it has the same problems with a JBL charge 3

Everything works fine here, so it's not a general phone issue.
Does it properly recognise the bluetooth device as headphones/speakers?
Also I see a lot of you talk about car bluetooth. There are a lot of cars that don't actually support streaming media over Bluetooth (just voice calls since they are much lower quality).
There was a thread on the main XDA page a few says ago.
Hi Engmia,
When I initially get into the vehicle the car does recognize the device with headphones/mic symbol however if I go into my bluetooth settings and look at the profiles that are connected, only the "Call audio" profile is available. If I unpair the device and restart my phone, then re-pair the device it will eventually connect and using "call audio" and "media audio" profiles. I believe this is a Marshmellow issue as it's happening in both of my cars.
Thanks,
Aakash

Hello,
If you car actually has A2DP (the Bluetooth media standard for streaming media over bluetooth) which is supported by having the option enabled when reconnecting then it's a bug either in the car protocols or the phone software.
I can't help further unfortunately but recommend you to use the current workaround you've found and submit a proper bug report.
I think the rebooting of phone is an unnecessary step, try just unpairing the device or even better, just resetting the connection to see if it will work and save some time.
You can also try updating to 7.1.1, to see if the issue is resolved there.
Personally I've never experienced issues on neither 5.0, 6.0 or 7.0 with my bluetooth headphones. In dact I was always pleasently surprises by how well the pairing worked.
Thanks for the reply engmia. I know both vehicles support A2DP, and I do not have issues with a different device. Are the 7.1.1 roms all AOSP? Would they be okay to use as a daily driver?
Thanks!

Yeah, you are looking for a custom AOSP rom for 7.0 since LG isn't planning to release the update.
It's absolutely lovely for a daily driver, works great and is quite good stability wise. Sometimes a new weekly (LineageOS) will have an unexpected bug, but that's why you just keep the previous version or a backup to keep everything running smoothly.
Going back to stock would be a pain for me at this point, both function and performance wise. I don't think you'll be missing anything from the stock rom, and most importantly, double tap to wake works.
problem seems to be syncing to multiple devices
Ran into this problem this morning.. I have an LG HBS900 headset paired to my LG G3 and my PC.. It looks like the PC's bluetooth set it up as a media device and the phone would only connect it for voice calls, no options for media showed up in the bluetooth settings on the phone..
To fix the problem:
I paired the headset to my PC and and then unpaired it and shut off bluetooth on my PC.
I also unpaired the headset from my phone, cleared the caches and rebooted.
After reboot I paired the headset to the phone and media options were available again..
Hope this helps
Just had this happen to me now ... Couple of restarts, syncing my headphones to a computer and back to my phone fixed it for some reason.
Same issue with the LG V20 Smartphone
SmartPhone: LG V20
Service Provider: AT&T
Android 7.0 (not rooted)
Kernel 3.18.31
Bluetooth Headset model: LG HBS730
Pairing is not a problem. It pairs quickly and connects both phone and media controls, however the media controls do not work. The buttons themselves are connected and working because when I press and hold any of the media buttons, I'll hear a quick double-beep. The buttons that do not work are the "play/pause" toggle, the "play next" and "play previous" buttons. The buttons that do work are the "volume up/down", the "answer/hangup" buttons.
I've tried some of the previously mentioned suggestions, like disable then re-enable controls and pretty much have done that will all the media controls in settings and within the applications.
The LG HBS730 worked perfectly for over a year with my previous phone, the Samsung G5 Active and works perfectly with my 2 Android tablets. The headset works fine.
The LG V20 bluetooth media controls also fail in the identical ways when the phone is connected to my Toyota Highlander's Bluetooth. The phone answers and hangs up properly, but the music will not pause or play until I hit the button on the phone. The controls do not function from the Highlanders audio controls on my console. This is also true with my Honda Link Bluetooth. Same exact symptoms. I have to use the phone to control the audio.
I have logging enabled on my phone if anyone knows how to get the logs off this LG, I would be happy to donate them to the cause of getting this fixed.

Sorry logs don't help me since I'm not a developer. I don't experience any issues on my d855 running LineageOS 7.1.1 and AKG Y45BT headset.
Pairing, controls, music playback all work perfectly fine.
I suggest you try contacting LG if the headset's controls are working on other devices.

Android Auto

Hi all, having issues with Android Auto - connected via USB. It's been hit and miss re playing music - sometimes plays at normal volume and can be controlled using my car stereo volume controls, sometimes it connects and plays at a low volume that can't be adjusted on either the phone itself or the car controls. Have researched this a lot and none of the suggested fixes have worked. Anyone experiencing similar or got any fixes from experience? TIA

I'm on global (I think, in the UK) and I don't even have Android auto as an app. It's installed but I believe it's an issue with dual apps on MIUI. How did you get it to show?
Yes, it's inbuilt now and not a separate app any longer... when you connect it to android auto you can press the circle bottom right of car screen to open the interface on your phone and adjust settings that way, or download the separate phone companion. Either way, adjusting things didn't fix the issue.

A little bit annoying as in one of my cars as its older I don't have Android Auto so used to use the app alone and hang it from a holder
I guess if you download the phone screen companion you could still do that.
