yahoo go gamma. yahoo go beta for wm has a memory leak. hence, your crashing issues.
yahoo is taking for ever to release yahoo go gamma. i personally think that it will never get released and it will get swept under the rug because they cant fix the memory problems without revamping the whole program.
hi guys,
i've just managed to download the beta version of yahoo go from emule a week ago. i installed it on wm5 but didn't really synchronize my mails after it initialized.
then i upgraded to wm6 over the weekend and then installed it again. this time with gprs it didn't even want to initialize. the connection kept disconnecting. i then reinstalled and tried using my wifi connection. it then at least download my mails. but then it didn't do the job properly. cause i couldn't open the mails. they didn't download properly.
so i gave up and uninstalled it.
then i thought of just trying to use the standard mail. surprisingly,i think my account had somehow been enabled for pop or imap by yahoo go. can someone else try this out to confirm?
sorry for the messy writing. i'm using my pda.
There's supposed to be a 2.0 version of Yahoo! Go for the Hermes real soon now... I put 1.5 on my fresh WM6 last night and I could no longer reply to any emails (no matter what account I tried) in tmail.exe.
So (not knowing this), I flattened my device again because I couldn't figure out what was going on (and installed vp3g's new rom!). Everything was working fine until I reinstalled Yahoo Go 1.5 again. The same problem came back.
Problem description:
After Yahoo! Go 1.5 is installed on WM6 (on my Cingular 8525, WM6 Cingular ROM or vp3g's WM6 3.0 ROM), I can only write and reply to SMS or MMS messages. If I attempt to reply, create, or forward a message in Outlook, Yahoo!, or my IMAP account, the new mail message fails. The screen goes white, I get an option to Send or look at a menu, but no To:, CC:, Subject:, Message body etc. You can't close the message or cancel the message.
You can kill the tmail.exe program, but the problem returns if you try again.
Uninstalling Yahoo! Go 1.5 solves the problem.

someone obviously didnt bother to read the thread before he posted
by the way, you can reply to emails. once you are in the email all you have to do is start at the black screen and press the down button and then go back up. and there is your email.
mark my words though. no yahoo go gamma. if you read tech news yahoo is dying a slow death at the hands of microsoft and google.

I just upgraded to Black 2.5 and 1.41 Radio ROM, and so far I love it... I have been playing around with if for a couple of days, but I noticed a little problem. I have an exchange server from work that I have been using direct push, and everything syncs and downloads correctly - no problem. However, when I mark a mail read on my phone, it does not mark it read on my office computer.
On the previous WM5 ROM I was using I did not have a problem, so I am not sure if this is a common problem due to WM6...
Thanks for the great site!
Im using Black 2.5 wm 6 rom, and also with an exchange server with non of the problems you are experiencing.
Same issue for me
I am also seeing this issue with some emails not being marked as read.
Using Black 2.5 w/ radio 1.41 and syncing with Exchange 2003 sp2.
However, this problem is not consistent and somewhat random. Sometimes I have noticed that out of say 5 emails I read on my phone only 1 shows as not being read on my laptop. Other times I have read several emails(15 for example) over the course of the day on my phone and several groups of them will still show as not being read on my laptop.
At first I thought my phone was losing the http connection with Exchange, but I still receive new emails via direct push. Strange.
I did not have this issue on WM5 or Black1.2
Any ideas?
i too have had the odd email not been marked as read, but i've had the same thing with every wm5/6 rom i've installed and just got used to it
this has to due with the way direct push works. E-mail's don't get pushed back as being read until a new e-mail gets pushed to the phone...or you manually send/receive in active sync.
I tried both a manual sync and sending a test email to my exchange account. The test email came through but the emails still showed as unread.
I haven't time to really look into the issue as it did not happen consistently. One thing to note I was Buzzing on Black 2.5 when this problem occurred and I have since downgraded back to the default settings(yesterday) . I did not have this problem at all today. Will update if the problem comes back.
@DeniaL
I have been considering purchasing my own Exchange Server 2007 and was wondering how you setup email accounts to use an alias. Is it a third party app?

No, its a pretty simple way to trick the exchange server. Hit me up over PM if you want more info.
Well I finally got my TyTn, TNT flashed, unlocked and good to go!
However, I have one question/issue.
Until I can get Blackberry Connect to work (how do I create a PIN?) I am using my IMAP4 account.
I did this all the time with my old 6700 and had no problems, but under WM6, it will start to download/send email and crash most of the way through.
Any thoughts?
Thank you!
Yeah I'd noticed this problem recieving IMAP mail in WM6 on my Hermes. WM5 worked without a problem. With WM6 it will receive about 50% of my email and then say something like "failed to download email". I then click on the 'Send/Receive' option again to get the rest of the email. It's not a show stopper but is a little annoying. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be grateful. Maybe there are some timeout settings in the registry that I don't know about.
I got my 8525 replaced under warrantyyesterday, but there was an issue so it was until today that I could play with it. It worked fine with the default install (WM5) so then I installed Schaps 4.01 onto it. Well, after setting it up I can call and surf the web just fine on the device, however, I can not sync with my exchange server.
The parameters are all setup correctly, if I force a send/receive it always says "connecting..." "Synchronizing folders" and "Looking for changes" and then "Complete". However, it will never actually receive mail (as i know I have htem I can log into my webmail and look, or even if I send myself an email from another account) nor will it send an email out...it just sits in the "outbox".
Any ideas???

Ok, will do, what's it do? Right now I flashed back to the Official ATT WM6 rom so I can use it for the time being, but I really want my Schaps back
I apologize in advance if this has already been answered but i have been looking for the solution for a couple of days now and have had zero success.
I have my t-mobile dash setup for pop3 email with my own domain. When I first setup the email account, the email is all downloaded fine. After that, it just stops working and hangs at "looking for changes". I can go into tools and modify the settings in there to download from 5k to 20k or make any changes in there it will download once, but then stop again.
One other fact about this is that it started once I updated my Dash from WM 5 to WM 6. I have since tried WM 6.1 and WM 6.5 and have the same problem on all.
Does anyone have any advice or solutions to this? I have seen a few people post the same question, but never any replies.
Are you using the TZones hack? If so, there is one more change needed to make your email work correctly. Look it up in the WIKI...it's the last thing on the list.
Sorry...not in the WIKI....just search for the TZones hack. It's in there.
No, I am not using the TZone hack. I have just upgraded my WM to 6.0, then 6.1, then 6.5 and have had the same problem on all of them.
It seems that using Exchange instead of POP works fine, but my email is not on an exchange server so I have to use POP.
I just put WM5 back on my dash and now my email works fine. Same setup and same account as before. The only difference is running WM5 instead of WM6, WM6.1 or WM6.5. I am not sure why that would make a difference, but I would LOVE to run a newer version of WM on my dash if anyone can shed some light on the pop email problem I am having.
I just read some other posts addressing a similar issue where a pop email setup on WM 6.1 kept "looking for changes" and wanted to check through all 6000 or so messages on the server. The recommendation was to set it up using IMAP. Does anyone know why the pop setup would be a problem but the IMAP would work?
Thanks
I have had a weird problem with my phone ever since I bought. It is a Sprint TP2 6.5 stock. I have 3 email accounts setup to various resources, exchange, gmail, & hotmail. Gmail is setup via IMAP and the others are POP3. This was done just to see if one worked better than the other. All are set to not delete email on the server. On all 3 accounts I can successfully send and receive email; all via Sense 2.5. However, when I delete 1 or any number of messages they do show deleted but return upon the next scheduled checking for email or sometimes will show up again hours later. It is quite odd because I have tested this many ways including just one account at a time, IMAP and POP3, and bypassing Sense. If I bypass Sense the email stays deleted on the phone. This tells me there is something wrong with the Sense 2.5 interface. Has anyone else heard of this problem or know of a solution?
I can confirm this as well. I stopped using sense to delete and just go directly to the inbox. Really annoying and have not been able to find a solution... I just hope this eventy gets fixed in a future build!
Anybody? I am surprised there is not more feedback on this. Do some people not have this issue?
Weill, I went ahead and downloaded the 6.5 ROM from HTC again and flash my phone hoping perhaps something went wrong last time. No good. It is still happening. This has got to be bothering more people than just a few.
