I just switched over to Black Shadow LE and noticed that now I can't dial numbers from the keyboard while in a call without pressing the function key first. Obviously, this makes entering my voicemail password a real hassle since it isn't a one-handed operation anymore. I never had a problem on any of the other ROMs so I don't really know what's going on. Anyone have any tips? And yes, I've searched and found nothing.
Since you are noob and did not bother to read what is going on with the ROM you installed. I will let you know that JJ, the person who cooked the ROM has his own forum where support questions can be posted.

Only having 1 post doesn't make me a noob, dip****. I've been around here since the XDA Live ROMs and I'm aware of the 4winmobile forums, I just prefer to come to xda-devs. This isn't a Black Shadow LE only problem. I experienced it in early versions of LVSW's ROMs too. So, does anyone who doesn't see someone with 1 post and automatically think to themselves "OMG its teh NOOB!!! I'll flame them so I feel important!!!!!" know what's going on?

hey guys,
my green answer call button doesnt seem to work. i'm wondering if its the rom or the phone. it still lights up but doesnt respond when i push the button.
any suggestions like a button tester program?
kind regards,
jason
Are you having any problems with any other keys?
If its just the one you can break your phone down and check your connections and see if anythings loose or damaged. Make sure to go to the Wiki and check out the guide on how to properly take your phone apart.
everything works except for that the green phone button
Starting to wonder about malfunctioning buttons posts
I myself posted a thread on my malfunctioning power button . I am getting the feeling that certain apps and tweaks are causing some of these malfunctioning hardware buttons to happen. Not exactly a scientific point of view, but I think lots of this button malfunctioning (no matter which one), can eventually be resolved by HR or as mentioned in another post, Clear Storage. I myself, within a minute, pulled out my SDMicro card out for 15 seconds, took off Quickmark application (last app or cab put on my system), and my power button turns on/off as it should. I had to resort to SR's when I had my problem..........................
Latest: Found out that my main problem was NOT any of the above,, it all seemed to occur because of a buildup of Notification Queue's,, so check that out... I think that those queue's can be a source of a lot of problems
cheers for that suggestion.
softreset doest fix it so i will have to resort to hard reseting.
lucky the vodaphone version has the 3G phone button and i can use that to get to the dial pad but it then assumes my calls are 3G which are annoying
has anyone got any suggestions then?
i flashed K's new rom and still my 'Green Answer Phone' button doesnt work.
thanks in advance for any help

i had a similiar problem when installing a different dialer via cab.
i would suggest to either install a naked rom (like pandora naked) or one of the older roms (like schaps v3.x).
do not install any other cabs and see if the green button is working.
i flashed pandora naked rom and it still doesnt work.
any one have any other suggestions?
if not will i have to take the phone apart :S?
the Irda doesn't work at all, when i install a program to use my tytn as a remote for my tv, and i try to clone my remote i get an error saying "Irda port being used by another application"
and it wont communicate with over devices via Irda. other than that it works great...does anybody know a way to fix this problem?
p.s. tried other roms, Irda works fine, so it's not the phone.
please help this lost soul!!
thanks!
sorry, posted in wrong area! rookie mistake! forget about it!
A general rule I follow is not to use too many .cabs as certain apps and tweaks can cause some of these malfunctionings to happen.
You cant be installing cabs for everything on your phone. Do you really have so much space in your phone?
hey guys i thought this was a thread about getting my green answer call button working again!
seem like more of a hardware problem to me. you can still try checking for bad blocks, flashing another radio, but that all may be futile. look up the disassembly guides in the wiki. mikechannon also has some stuff on that, if u click on his sig
I think I may have stumbled onto a solution to our dreaded quiet phone that doesnt notify us of a SMS or MMS and possibly email when the phone goes to sleep or standby. I have searched asked inquired, and beat every search engine and found absolutely nothing. So being frustrated of seeing msgs pop up when I hit the power button to wake the phone up I went hunting and I think I found it. I tested this all of today and so far I havent missed one yet, and normally I miss at least 3 a day. Its still in a testing phase so I DONT guarantee this works, but with some feedback with others, it might be the solution. I did alot of comparing with my other phones and my 8125 and 8525 had a different value so i changed it to that value.
I have made it a cab file so that anyone who wants to try it can uninstall it if it doesnt work, I suggest a soft reset after making this change. This changes the following location:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"DisableSMSWakeUpEvent"=dword:00000001
to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"DisableSMSWakeUpEvent"=dword:00000000
Good Luck! And if it works or doesnt, please leave feedback of either thanx or didnt work, like I said so far its working on my att tilt 2 stock eu rom 1.86
Nice one, but its already been solved here.

Well at least its here, I know there is a ton of posts going around in here about this problem, and I did munerous searches, but obviously if you dont get the right keyword you'll never find the post.
so what does this do? light the screen up everytime there is a message? or basically just solve the problem of message not ringing in sleep mode?
Basically it does the same thing it did with the 8125 and the 8525 when a msg comes in the screen wakes up from sleep, so far (I thought) I might have found a solution, but it seems I was beaten to it.
So far there isnt a solution found yet of the alert coming thru without lighting the screen up as far as I know.
yea, i thought it lights up the screen when msg comes. I have a habit of putting the phone to sleep without locking it, so it might cause problem when i put it in my pocket as i receive message more than calls.
Thanks anyway mate

Yeah but if you have the end key setup as a long hold it will lock the screen to prevent that accidential tapping of the screen. Unless you have a modded rom then you would have to see what key it is. But hey for me its better then missing a msg.
Hi AngelDeath,
Just wanted to say thx for this one -I realise this thread is old, but it's sorted my no sms alert issue on my HD2. It had been driving me nuts for ages!
Hi Guys,
I am currently using a Cell Pro Rom and I find that my it keeps flipping to landscape too often when I have my phone in portrait.
I always have to give it a shake to fix itself and it does get a bit annoying.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
(I remember I may have (not certain) that I might have changed the Sensor registry when I first got it, but I am not certain, does anyone know the default measurements?)
Any ideas are welcomed.
Many thanks in advance!
Did you ask in the Cell Pro ROM thread? Seems a more logical place to ask. I tried that one out and did not have the issue you are describing. Good ROM too.
There is a G-Sensor Calibration in Settings- System.

I'm fearing the fact that I may have changed something in the registery as I got all excited the day i got the phone and went through the tweaks in the wiki.
I am not certain if I made any changes regarding the g sensor so I was wondering if anyone knows the defaults or if there is a .cab or ROM to flash to system restore.
Any clues?
Many thanks in advance
To me the g-sensor is a gimmick. I find it annoying and totally useless so I've turned mine off altogether. If I want the screen to rotate I push the keyboard out. I really don't see any use for it.
I did think the only use I had for it was the face down hands free thing but have since decided that I'd be quite happy to push a button for that. Hardly a hassle.
I did a quick search of this forum and only saw this issue brought up once before (not answered, and dif version of this handset), so I will put it out there again.
Occasionally after I get an SMS, or send one, I will open up the keyboard but I get no response. It will light up if it is dark. The handset recognizes it is being opened (switches to landscape), but the keys do nothing. I am able to open up the software keyboard and continue whatever I am doing, but nothing on the hardware one. I usually will finish my texting, and move on to other things, and when I check later, it works fine...as if nothing was ever wrong. No soft reset, or anything... This has happened several times, but I will go weeks without it happening.
Oh yeah...I am using the stock ROM for the tilt 2.
have you applied the hotfix already?
I was not aware of any hotfix for this. I did a quick search and found nothing. Can you please point me in the right direction and I will look into this...
I'm having the same problem with my Tilt 2. Factory ROM, and I have applied the hot-fix. And yesterday I preformed a hard rest. Its still does it. The keyboard will partially stop working at times.
I get the same response, with the keyboard out the phone switches to landscape, the hot keys work (contacts, Internet, home, etc.), but it wont type letters or numbers. Sometimes after going into sleep mode it will work latter, but usually I have to soft rest. This is happing several times a day. Quite annoying!

I dont think that this applies to the 6.5 rom, I have tried to install this and it wont. I think this was discussed awhile back about this hotfix.
I followed the above link, however, I did not see a hotfix that fits what I am experiencing unless "freezing in SMS" is what you guys are thinking. I did not interpret my symptom as 'freezing' as I am fully able to use the screen...just not with the hardware keyboard.
Never-the-less, I have no problem installing the hotfixes. I am not clear on whether or not they apply to my version, however, they are dated after my purchase, so I am thinking that they should be OK.
Oh yeah...where would the discussion be regarding whether or not this applies to me...I was unable to find it...
Same issue for me, flaky hardware keyboard. I'm running the AT&T stock ROM, and I put the hot-fixes on immediately after they came out.
The issue is with the Stock ATT ROM. I am the chef of the e2 ROM series here and my ROMs are customized for AT&T. With my custom ROMs I have no issues with the keyboard at all. This is because most of the packages were updated. So if you want to fix your keyboard, you'll need to flash a new ROM. If you want/need a customized ROM for ATT then check out the e2 ROM series in the ROM Development thread.
Thank you for the info/invite. I will certaintly check out your ROMs. I have been reluctant to flash this phone as I can't afford a replacement if things go bad (not to mention the hassle of reinstalling/re-setting things up)...
I'm not sure if this has been addressed in a thread before, but I've noticed that sometimes when I'm texting in HTC Messaging on my physical hardware keyboard, there's lag in the blinking cursor and it somewhat jumps slowly among my last letters when I'm typing.
Is there already a fix for this?
Sometimes I get the same thing. My last phone was the original Tilt, and there was a fix for it in the Kaiser forums (HWKeyboardSpeedup.cab, or some very similar name, cant miss it). I dont know for sure, but its possibly just a reg edit in cab form for some keyboard delay setting or sensitivity or something. I havent tried it on this device cause its not nearly as bad on my Tilt2, dont know if it would work on this device, but it might be worth a shot for ya. If it doesnt work, you can just uninstall it and do a soft-reset.
Edit: Let me know if you try it and it works so I can do it on my phone too!
If you have XT9 on while using the keyboard, your typing will lag and possibly might not recognize the space bar when you hit it and all your words can be one long word. Make sure XT9 is off when using the hardware keyboard.

At first, that's what I thought, but I found that regardless of being in ABC or XT9 mode, there's the same constant lag.

I did some research and found the thread for it, but the TP2 users who have tried it seemed to have issues already. I didn't want to get caught up in it either.
