hi all
i am new to this site and also new to theworld of pda's. I own a qtek 9000(v1640) and also a nokia 9500. Now my question is i do not understand any of the lingo you guys are using. I have been reading the site last nite and today and i have tried the unlocking tool for the qtek but i must be doing something wrong, So is there anyone out there that can give me the exact instructions on what to do to unlock my phone. From start to finnish. I have upgraded the rom and also the sync software to version 4.1. Any help would be great.

It seems, that Vodafone Germany deliver now brandnew devices with the new AKU 2.2 update. Anyone have the new ROM ?!? It´s not possible to get the new ROM over an offical way...

Hi all,
I have a O2 Zinc which is a chinese version. I'd like to flash it to a English version, any1 know how to do so?
I have both the chinese rom and english rom. The program checks the language of the phone, so i couldn't do it by running the english rom installer.
is there any way to cheat?
buddy, i might not be able to help you but can you tell me from where you got the ROM, coz i don't know whether Zinc is Wizard, Hermes or what... i tried both of them but couldn't flash

zinc is none of the above, it's not made by htc, i think it's asus but not sure - anyway it is not on this forum

any possible sources that can be outlined?
It is made by ASUS, you can find "Asus" in registry.
I'm looking for the way to upgrade the Rom from Chinese to English as well.

Hi, having just read your other posts, I must point out a few things to you.
1 - This forum is for phones made by HTC the reason this site is called XDA Developers is because o2 were the first company to release their products, and o2 re branded them.
2 - (Due to point 1) There will NOT be a forum for the Zinc as it is made by Asus
3- You can NOT flash a ROM for anything made by HTC to a Zinc. And it sounds like you would have big trouble if you tried anyway, for example G3/G4 can only refer to a Wizard or Prophet made by HTC.
4 - There is a lot of stuff on this site which is good for non HTC products, so people who own a Zinc will still be hanging around, and may eventually post a new ROM, however if it requires unlocking etc... is another matter

yes, get the 838 (hermes) if you can

got my 838 pro..
took 1 day for me to read the wiki and did what it tells...
Now its pretty Cool... upgraded to everything i shoud do..

i use a O2 Trion in Germany, i wan to upgrade my system to WM6. but i can't find a offical upgrade from O2. Does anyone use the O2 trion and have a offical Upgrade? Thanks

Dude, I know you are new and everything so I'll go easy on you. Check the wiki for the hermes and see if there is something official available for you from the shipped rom link. Just do a search before you open a thread ok? Cool.

the o2 xda stealth is very fast
don't think there is wm6 for stealth. I have the rom update from dec 2006 which improves keypad if ppl. are interested. Have to upload somewhere...
i have a chinese rom in my stealth can i change it to english through the said rom update? if yes, where can i download it? thanks in advance
ROM update
If you register on the o2 site (www.seeo2.com), and just pick australia, you can download the official ROM for free.
The ROM is of 2006-12-08 and has some improvements for the eZiText.
btw. It is a WM5 ROM, I don't think O2 will bring out a WM6 ROM, but maybe you can contact them?
O2 Upgrade
I understand that O2 is no longer providing services and is now being done intermittently by MWG. Am i correct? Does anyone know anything about this?
