Hi all, I've just installed upgrade my Jasjam to WM6 ( Black 1.2) - very nice and fast. However, after upgraded I'm unable to connect to my NetGear Router via Wifi (WEP enabled) any longer.
The WEP Key and MAC address are correct - sometimes the software SOCKET WIFI can identify the SSID but unable to connect still. I've tried to connect without WEP key but no success. The only success I have with the Jasjam to use the Internet is via MS activesync thru notebooks ( via WEP wireless ) to the router. Can anyone help ????....
Is there some setting in WM6 that I'm not awared off.
Many thanks in advance.
I had the same problem with my netgear router on WM6 until I realised I had to check/enable "This is a Hidden Network" in the network card settings.
should work

Thank you very much. That tiny check has saved me hours of frustration. It worked perfectly.
So, is it possible? Has it been done and I missed it? WPA2 ability would greatly increase my use of this device, and everyone else's I'm sure.
I've also searched all over the web for information on connecting the SX66 to a WPA2 connection.
I'm running DD-WRT v23 SP2 on a Linksys WRT54GL. My router is running in WPA2 Pre-Shared Key Only security mode with AES WPA Algorithms. My WPA Shared Key consists of 63 random alpha-numeric characters as generated by GRC's Ultra High Security Password Generator.
My SX66 is running ROM version 1.40.00, Radio version 1.15.00, and ExtROM version 1.40.125, as supplied by the SX66 Standardization Project.
I'm using Juniper Odyssey 4.50.0.2911 to try to connect to my router.
After typing in the router information, Odyssey attempts to connect to the access point but gets no further than searching for access point.
Can anyone offer any advice?
Try to "downgrade" your security to wpa... :/
I found this over the internet, it may be your router...
However, in WPA2's ratification, there is an
implemetation called WPA2/TKIP+AES which allows the use of WPA/TKIP for
backward compatibility. Check if your APs support that..... Even that, it
is not a guarantee that it will work. I have never got it working with
Linksys WRT54GS/WRT54GX. However, the Linksys WRT54GC works flawlessly. My
laptops are connecting via WPA2/AES and my WM5 devices are connecting via
WPA/TKIP.

I for some reason can't connect to a wpa enterprise connection using PEAP. I input my user name / password etc. The connection says "connecting" and then it goes back to "available" after staying at connecting for some time. Any ideas? Is Schrap's rom potentially the problem? Or what component would I have to change to alter the WPA encryption. It connects fine to my home WPA-PSK connection... Any ideas would be great thx .
802.11 WPA2 connection issue
i'm facing exactly this problem on my samsung i780 ... also flashed a winmo6.5 ROM ( earlier had 6.1 ) ... same problem continues ... any help welcome !!!
Hi,
since a few weeks i own a HTC Touch Pro2. Unfortunately i dont get a working
WPA2 (AES) preshered key connection.
I tried it with the following access points:
SMC barricade
Telekom Speedport W721V
Fritz.Box 7170
Telekom Speedport W701V
Belkin Wlan Router N+
WEP and WPA is working - but no WPA2.
Does someone has the same problem - and a solution maybe?
Best Regards,
Markus

Did you install Advanced Config, if not please do so.
In Advanced Config there is an option to enable WPA.
In my Pro II this option is disabled by default.
I did not try this out because i do not have WPA2.
But maybe it will help you to use WPA2 and AES.
Hi V6-Maniac,
thanks,... it works ;-)

Your Welcome...
Thank you! Also Worked for me with Gigabyte S1205 WM6.5 phone.
1. .NET Compact FrameWork install (3.5 Redistributable)
2. Advanced Configuration Tool (Version 3.3)
In Advanced Config there is an option to enable WPA. It will help you to use WPA2 and AES.
Hi all -
discovered an odd issue when attempting to connect my GNEX to my WiFi access points the other day: WPA/WPA2 with TKIP encryption works fine. When I select WPA2 with AES encryption the Android is unable to connect. Is this a known issue? Google searches and searches of XDA have been fruitless so-far...seems people are confusing WPA2 Enterprise with WPA2 AES and they are two different configurations (Enterprise usually involves a RADIUS server for authentication, AES is simply a different (stronger) encryption).
Thanks in advance, apologies if I missed a thread.
