It's called commerce, they just want you to upgrade to other devices! On the other hand, most devices run best with the OS designed for it. And yes there are exceptions, I know

Try reading Helmi's recent posts.
Also, use great care in what you download from the ftp. There have been quite a lot of malicious apps (ie wipe harddrive type stuff) on there, undetectable to a virus killer. Use a sandbox or disassemble anything suspicious.

Its an iso CD image. WM5 it says so it is.... any more explanation? I unpacked it but its not of any use to me... its more of use to ROM builders and xda-developers

Thats the on going test for new ROM, I guess. There are many on going ROMs that are locked to avoid newbies bricking their phone. Thats for the community's good.

Yup I knew some people would stumble accross the stuff that we upload to the server. Well that stuff is only for internal use.
after i upgrade the licese code not accepted are any program for recovering the licenced code

ok i used to have wm6 offical rom, i bought software and they give me licence code depend upon another code generated by my device
the problem when i changed to another rom the code my device generate has been changed so the other code not accepted this software works when i have the offical rom
I don't think there's a way to "recover" the old code. I suggest you contact the software vendor, explain your situation, and ask for a new license key.

Also, many codes are based off of the "Name" you enter in user section of the phone. If you go to the settings, you can set owner info. Try to set it back to whatever it was. Some keys are generated off of the phones internal ID as identified by the ROM (like TOM TOM), but you cannot fix that.

Mod Edit: LINK REMOVED. XDA-Developers policy prohibits the posting of Microsoft Voice Command in CAB form since it is commercial software.
MSVC is commercial software, and cannot be posted in CAB form. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

i am guessing you are using a 6.5 rom?
i have not found a version of msvc that will announce incoming calls with 6.5. the version posted works on all aspects except incoming calls if i am correct with you having a 6.5 rom.

While MSVC does come with certain phone models, it is never distributed in CAB form. Operators use a package to add MSVC into their ROMs.
Because of this, we allow OEM Packages since the only way to use them is to cook a ROM with the files being added from the very beginning.

No apologies necessary; just a simple mistake.
OEM Packages of MSVC have been posted here in the past, so our general rule of thumb is that it is permitted only if some version of the device came with the software. For example: The Touch Pro (Raphael) only ships with Cyberon Voice Commander, but the AT&T Fuze (US Touch Pro) ships with MSVC, so we allow OEM packages to be made available in the Raphael sections.

Does anyone know if it possible to extract/copy an APK's signature and how?
I have noticed all CERT.RSA files in APK's signed with the same key are very similar, apart from the last few bytes, so i am thinking there must be a way.

from my understanding it is not possible, as it would ridicule the whole process of signing the apk in the first place. then again i am everything else than an expert on this topic...
One would have to ask the question as to why you would want to do this in the first place?

that's the thing. if it was possible there would be no reason to sign the app in the first place. it is signed so you can make sure who the dev is (or that the dev is the same as the one who made the previous version). if you could extract and reuse that signature, where's the meaning in signing it at all?
and there are only two obvious reasons one would want to do that: he lost his key, or he wants to fake the source of an aop...

Personally, I would be interested if there was a way to do it, because I would like to update a system app on my phone using a modified apk (in my case I use android 12 that comes with Samsung files 13 and I would like to update it to the version 14 which is only supposed to be compatible with android 13. I changed the min SDK requirement and resigned the v14 apk but because the signature is different, the app just won’t update).

I understand your concern regarding the re-distribution of software, but the part i need is Sony_Add-on_SDK_documentation_kit_v3.0.zip which was freely available from Sony untill this was seen as redundant/old/unsupported software.
So I do not believe there will be any issues with this being distributed.
