Hi I've had a search of the forum but could not find the answer to my query. Could anyone tell me how I go about downgrading back to WM5 on my o2 XDa Exec? Thanks in advance guys and girls... this is a great community...

no special steps needed, i flashed wm5 from wm6 many times
I am totally newb at this and have no idea how to do that... so would it be too much trouble to ask for a more detailed explanation?

download the official o2 rom and upgrade...
try google to find the o2 rom
if u are jasjar try the rom at i-mate
I have downloaded the latest rom... but it starts looking for device information... my exec reloads... with WM6 and thats it
1. Put your exec on bootloader mode: Press backlight+power+reset at the same time.
2. Disable your Activesync. Uncheck "Allow USB Connections" under Connection Settings.
3. Plug in ur Exec directly to your PC using the USB cable. (Don't use a USB hub)
4. Flash ROM.
Just wondering? Does flashing the ROM constantly (If done correctly.) hurt anything?
I hope not.. coz if it does.. then my Uni should be very very damaged ryt now. hehe. I've flashed this thing countless times and it's still ok.
maybe just like PC... reinstalling Windows on the desktop PC a thousand times doesn't really do any damage ryt?
yea every sector in the flash memory has an "endurance counter" about roughly how many times it can be erased and re-written before it becoming damaged (bits stuck to 0, or 1, respectively).
although nowadays flash device manufacturers are promising 10000+ EW (erase/write) cycles, I doubt that some devices (especially the NAND chip in the HTC TyTn for instance) comes up to the expectations

Dude, post in english.
Anyway, you can get the original Dopod 900 ROM on their website.. but I suggest you just use the ROM I'm using. I have the link on my sig.
It has the I-mate boot splash screen... but you can easily change it to anything you want anyways.

Ok, I upgraded to this ROM, from what I can tell it is the most straight up almost factory version of WM5 I have seen, It is fast and solid.
The only thing missing is the Blackberry software, Enterprise or web. If anyone knows where to get that I would be a happy camper. Can you get this software in a CAB form?

There is no branding in every WM5 rom fo BA, because it is not distributed by an operator

even for my 2003SE, it doesn't have any branding because I bypass auto config ... so don't think it is such a big discovery.
Yep sorry must me the same one, I am still looking for the WM5 Blackberry connect instant mail that will work with this version...

Ok did you read the howto flash a ROM on ARTEMIS?
If yes you probably saw a line that told you to flash twice your P3300.
It often resolve flashing problems. GPS usually use COM4
You can test with free GPS software or with Navio software.
COM Ports
I may be wrong but I seem to have a vague recollection that in the US, the original ROMs use COM9 for GPS (can anyone confirm?). Flashing to a new rom will have changed this to COM4 so you may just need to reconfigure your GPS settings in the individual applications.

Official HTC WWE WM6 SHOULD work with any P3300, that couln't be yours that is not possible to run GPS part.
There is an ARTEMIS or HTC P3300 model that have no GPS inside ? or I've just misinterpret what you said maybe you can give me a link with a refresh WM5 software the will surely work with mine ?

No, All HTC P3300 have got a GPS inside (it remember M$ pub ) only some P3300 haven't got Wifi inside.
You should forget about WM5. I said that I am pretty sure WM6 should work with your GPS.
I can give you a WM5 but it is French orange switzerland version

Try this...
Start -> Settings -> System Tab -> Clock & Alarms
On Time tab, make sure your time AND time zone is set correctly
Start -> Settings -> System Tab -> Regional Settings
On Region tab, make sure your region is set correctly
Start -> Settings -> System Tab -> External GPS
On Program tab, make note of GPS Program Port
Download & Install VisualGPSce
http://www.visualgps.net/VisualGPSce/VisualGPSceInstall.CAB
Run Visual GPSce
Go to Connect -> Serial port
Set Port to that in "External GPS" setting above and Click OK
If the red dot in the bottom right flashes then your GPS is ok! You may just have to wait for a lock (look for QuickGPS too).

Did you reinstall the official ROM version?
Hey when I try to install the ROM WWE after I press the update button it sends me in a white screen and than he gives me ERROR 260 means cant connect with the device what should I do
p.s. by the way my operation system is Vista so just let you know if there is any kind off significance to the subject

When I try to install it without memory card he gives me new error after 2 percent says ''INVALID MODEL ID" this utility can't be use on your PDA ... bla bla bla ... !!! you have any king of advice hint or any kind off something helpful
Try hard reset
First you can try to hard reset your device (pressing the 2 soft key and reset at the same time) You will get a message, press the green phone button. If this does not resolve your problem... you can read first post in the forum, to learn how to flash a new ROM. Does your gps ever worked ?

Ok, the best thing to do is to CID unlock your device (I thaught you already done that)
Read this Thread carefully it will explain why!http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308242
Then use only this to CID unlock your device : http://rapidshare.com/files/119852558/Artemis_USPL.rar.html
After that reinstall the original HTC WWE ROM.
Your problems are from flashing from vista, there are a lot of threads about this, but basically you have to piss about untill you have found out how to install a bunch of old xp drivers and then no more 260 errors. When you have done that you can tell us all here just how you did it and post the drivers again because they are getting harder and harder to find.

Hi all,
i just tried an ROM update on my diamond and ended up with a probably burned diamond.
I tried to updated to "Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex" and then to Elite 2.0.
First the Hard-SPL updated didn't work an stoped at 1%.
As i figgured out i had to start the update tool as administrator under my Windows Vista.
The diamond now starts and shows the following screen:
1. A Water like Picture
2. The Text "Xda diamond" in the bottom left corner
3. The Text (in red characters)
R 1.00.25.03
G 52.26a.25.09
D 1.37.00.00
4. The Character "H" (in red) next to the "Xda diamond" Text
The Diamond stops here and does nothing.
I can get to the three colors screen by pressing Vol Down and Reset.
I also tried a hard reset which worked, but i ended up at the same screen and the diamond does nothing and just stops there.
Have i completely damaged my Diamond? (I hope not, would be a nightmare to me)
I will be very grateful for any kind of help on this!

Did u have Flash Hard SPL before?
When u didnt, the Update stops @1% whit err msg like: Wrong vendor ID
Then u have to flash hard SPL before, is sticky in this Forum.
Try maybe with a ROM from here in the first Sticky post, then u can ask for support.

I tried now to flash again to the Hard-SPL 1.30... but i get an Error 284 at 0%.

Flash hard-spl, set ur device in bootloader mode (tri-color screen. Search for it if u doesent know how)
And flash one of the compatible Roms, they are sticky in the forum.
Maybe urs spl isnt compatible whit the Rom u flashed.
When the Device boot's, and u see the red signs whit numbers, then i think its all ok...
...only incomplete rom.

On Vista 64, I had to take the following steps to have it working:
Fisrt: connect the device in boot mode to the PC
Second: wait until Vista installs a driver update
Third: disconnect the device and restart the PC after the update is installed
Forth: right-click on the RUU executable, and choose
compatibility mode with Win XP SP2
Fifth: run the RUU, cross your fingers and start praying
As how to enter bootloader, press volume down and reset simultaneously

I had no problem flashing to Unsigned Hard-SPL (1.4?) and bepe's bElite 0.54 Basic ROM using Windows Vista Business x64 (SP1).
It worked out of the box, without any special drivers installed whatsoever. I believe there were some drivers installed when I got it into bootloader mode, but aside from WMDC I didn't install any extra software

sounds like a bad flash? i once had the same problem with HTC tytn2, and i managed to contact forumer GSLeon who helped me out. he said "after a bad flash,u should never keep attempting to flash again, because u may permanently brick your phone"

And now the asnwer what was the problem:
A ****ing USB-HUB from MSI!
I had my diamond connected throu that USB hub and so everytime i tried to flash i had communication errors at 0% or 1%.
I connected the diamon directly to my pc and guess what:
It worked like a charm.

NEVER US ANY KIND OF HUB TO FLASH A PHONE, ALWAYS PLUG THE PHONE DIRECTLY INTO YOUR MOTHERBOARDS USB SOCKET

people could read a bit more before trying to help - the guy obviously had the hardspl flashed because of the version that was reported in tricolour. (1.40.etc...though it was mistyped )
anyway good that it got resolved OK. using hubs is indeed not recommended.

I was trying to upgrade my Qtek 9000 but something goes wrong and now I can't start my Qtek, it shows just USB on up of the screen when I connect it to USB and down shows it v2.01 , when I unplugg it, it shows up Serial and down v2.01
Can you write me - what application I shall use to get my Qtek working?
I think I need complet flash ROM and erease all in my phone and then copy all again. Please copy me hyperlinks where I can download the applications

Well, you surely have to do it, then you'll discover that you have to download a program called "mtty" ver 1.42 (if I'm not wrong) and follow the instructions under "stuck on bootloader screen" under the wiki.
You have to format your device and install a new ROM. May I suggest you Tomal's 8.2? 'Till now I can say that it's wonderful!

Yes, I just selected my city (Xalapa, Mexico) and voila!
No problems so far with this great ROM!

To restart your Uni insert the stylus in the small hole on the back, behind the mini usb

..... my diamond have a branded ROM , a vodafone one , and i want to install a new ROM - WWE 7.5 FULL ..... especially i want to change the language , because now is german , i'm roumanian , and i want english on it : )) ... well done i downloaded all necessary files to start the job ..... but my enthusiasm was knocked-out because i meet the next screen ( see the photo )
so....what should i do ? and what am I doing wrong ? ... i follow conscientios all the instructions :
- battery is full
- usb cable is well connected to PC and Phone
- standby and hibernate modes are turned off
- i have a correct ActiveSync connection between Phone and PC .... including Outlook
so if you will tell me what to do i will be verry gratefull

use internal storage method...is easy...in the rom you download there is a file .nbh rename it to diamimg.nbh then copy in the root of the internal memory
soft reset then hold the back button and the vol down button...follow the instruction on screen...and if you want do a hard reset after...simply soft reset then vol down + central pad button...follow the instruction..and you'll be ready

i have sppl 1.93 0000 and i try all the tutorials finded on xda about how to change to 1.93 signed by olinex and every time i get an error and when i went for a tutorial to solve that error i face another obstacol ....it seems like my last chance to change that damn sppl version is to use something called NBHUtil ... but i don't understand very well how it works so if someone will be so gentil to explain me in details this "easy" procedure this will be my last question

LE : i learn how nbhutil works and still no result ... what else can i try to change this damn spl because i'm sick of vodafone branded windows and it's german language ... ...my diamond is Diam 100 so it shouldn't be so hard to "work" with it... but it seems like nothing want to work
