Mouse on PPC: BlueMouse - General Accessories

A new driver, developed by TEKSOFT (www.teksoftco.com), named BlueMouse, allows any bluetooth mouse to operate on a bt enabled PPC.

The control panel:
First, the user selects wich button to assign a action, choosing from left, middle, right buttons, or scrool wheel. And then, the action, witch can be choosen from a list of 17 possible actions, including left click, middle click or right click, horizontal or vertical scrooling, open an app, close the active app, Alt-Tab to the next open app, etc.
It's also possible to choose different colors, sizes and shapes for the pointer. And the pointer speed, related to the mouse movement.
The setup is quite easy, the driver uses few resources, being very light.
If the PPC tunrs off, when the user turns it back on, the mouse is ready to use, without any problem.
Using a PPC for some time, with a mouse, makes it much easier than using the stylus.
In this version 1.0, it works only with Microsoft bt stack, but in future versions, it's expected to support others.
In a more demanding situations, like long scrools on Excel or Word, a few image artifacts might appear, but that problem is also expected to be fixed on the next version.
For less than 15€, everybody that already owns a bt mouse can use it on the PPC, making it a better investment.
If you're in the market for such a solution, I know only another one: Stowaway. But their software only works with their mouse, so, anybody that already have a bt mouse would have to buy a second one... not very good.
And if you buy a mouse and BlueMouse, it can cost bellow 60€, and Stowaway is more than 100€...

This would be a perfect compliment on the Athena. Has anyone used both the bt keyboard and the bt mouse at the same time? Any isues so far?

Well, I don't need a bt keyboard with my Jasjar...
But I have used BlueMouse at the same time as a bt headset and ActiveSync over bt, without any issue.
Did I mentioned that BlueMouse was my idea?
I speaked about it to Teksoft, they liked it, and voila, even better than my dreams!

It didn't see my Think Outside Travel Mouse. Said it wasn't connected, when not only was it connected and paired, it was able to select the start menu and softkey menus (albeit, with no visible cursor!).

Maybe you can find some answers in http://teksoftco.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1345
But maybe it's a mouse problem. As I understand, the Think Outside software only works with their mouse. Maybe their mouse is restricted also to only work with their software...

Where can i get a nice-cheap bluetooth mause?
THANKS!

Wow, just imagine if +mouselook in Pocket Quake worked!

I Do!

I use a bluetooth mouse with my blutooth keyboard all the time. It's comparable to a desktop experience.
I love it, and it works great with RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol). It's an absolute life saver the combination of the two.

could you let us know the price and the model of yr mouse and keyboard pls.

It works, thank you!!!!!
I am very happy now

BlueMouse should work with the ThinkOutside BT mouse. It's just a standard HID device. I'd try it, but I'm still on a WM2003SE device.

@ futaris
Just been on a private beta session with v1.2 from Teksoft BlueMouse. Everything works well now with my Athena device and Stowaway package ( BT mouse and keyboard). I just got the email that confirms that it has also been released to the public.
Works with my other V270 BT mouse also. I like the V270 more...

Here's the mouse and keyboard combo we tested:
Bluetake BT510 Mouse:
http://store.pressdigital.com.au/bluetake-bt510-mini-mouse-p-676.html
and Roky BT keyboard:
http://store.pressdigital.com.au/just-mobile-roky-bluetooth-fabric-wireless-keyboard-p-3600.html
The mouse works !!! The keyboard has issues running at the same time as the mouse..
How is everyone finding the combo? We've found the BT510 great with the JasJar though..
Cheers

Ive been trying to get mouse look going in quake. I manage to get quake running finally on my vga universal (which was hard enough) but there are a few problems. The mouse is overlayed on the screen etc and the mouse is stuck on portrate mode. But even still its working and is playable.
This is gona be a question that wont probably be answered at least for a while. But has anyone else even tryed to get this working? Would be good to exchange information etc...
Just on the topic of combo mouse and keyboard. I have a Logitech V470 bluetooth mouse and an iGo Stowaway Bluetooth Keyboard.
Ive got both running through the native bluetooth drivers that come with windows. They work pretty much perfect. The only problem i have is with the backlight. It keeps on turning off my screen while im working, even though im using both mouse and keyboard. Ive had to disable the auto backlight which is a pain but ive (almost) gotten use to it now.
Just a side note. Ive used my mouse on warfare incorporated and amazingly enough it works very well. The only problem is is the same with quake is that the mouse is stuck on portrait mode. But the difference with this and quake is that warfare works in portrait which makes me very pleased

Using the Galaxy Nexus as a home theater/desktop PC

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_--zcmqIyRI
Not thinking "ground breaking" or anything, but very nice stuff none the less.
I had an Atrix 4G with the Lapdock accessory (+webtop mod) before the GNEX, so using my android phone as my computer is something i'm familiar with, even though it was in a different way.
I also have the Rii mini bluetooth keyboard and tried once with the Nexus connected to my TV. Just that one time because I received the MHL adapter very recently.

Any other Nexus owners here using their phone as a desktop PC/HTPC/entertainment center?
Any recommended full sized bluetooth keyboard+touchpad?
Thanks
I just use a Bluetooth mouse and a cheap bt thumb keyboard off eBay with a good layout for direction keys. I don't have an MHL adapter yet but it should work. I think your issue is your keyboard\mouse combo may be too complicated without some software.
LTE EX Galaxy Nexus - CM9 AOKP
Asus Transformer - Revolver
Something else I've tried is installing ubuntu in a chroot, accessing it through VNC, and using bluetooth mouse+keyboard with MHL output. Results are shaky at best. VNC is the bottleneck - none of the VNC clients I've tried really work perfectly.
Some typical issues:
- Double-clicking doesn't work
- Keys are not always mapped properly. Escape, Tab, Ctrl, Alt, for example.
- Audio doesn't work at all.
- Because it's through VNC, graphics are not hardware accelerated.
The efficiency of using a full linux install with a keyboard is lost when the keyboard doesn't function as expected.
Looks promising. I would like to see desktop programs like spreadsheets, real time financial apps, or maybe sending something to the printer.
I did. No add ons. Everything was from the GN and the MHL adapter with the back cover off.

This is such a cool idea. When I scrape up a few extra bucks I am definitely going to have to try this at home.

I'm using my SGN as a terminal to access my citrix desktop at work. I used to carry around a netbook for this but now, with my SGN resolution and with the help of a bluetooth keyboard the need for my netbook is gone .
As a bluetooth keyboard I'm using a slightly larger one (compared with Rii you're using): http://www.serioux.com/products/keyboards/srx-prc82
This may be a stupid question but ... How did you have the screen turned on landscape mode?

I dont plan on using mine as a desktop computer but for my galaxy tab 10.1 I have this bluetooth keyboard from logitech that sync'd perfectly and works well with the nexus also.
It is, I would say, about the size of a laptop keyboard so you can get a good rhythm going once you get comfortable with the keys and the size of the keyboard.
As for mouse, I have no idea. I have this cheap one from that is bluetooth form logitech also but I dont like using it. But in a pinch its better than nothing.
Where did you purchase the serioux keyboard?
I bought the serious from a local store (I found it by chance .. I was not looking for it on purpose). I see that lots of online stores here in Romania have this keyboard in stock ....
If you want to make an idea about the size, compared with a full sized keyboard....
// sent from my green robot //
I have a google t.v. Keyboard Which I thought would work but its not discoverable by default so I will have to buy a bt keyboard and mouse. MHL is nice though its great that this can be done.
I have been using this setup off an on for a few weeks now. I actually had an Apple keyboard and mouse sitting around the house and they paired with the device perfectly.
I also did the Ubuntu install and you are absolutely right... VNC is the bottle neck and it makes everything unusable.
While its fun to toy around with, it is still too clunky of a setup for me to make it my permanent laptop replacement. If I could get the output on the monitor to be a tablet layout instead of a close up of the phone screen, it may be a different story.
My GN has basically become my multimedia hub/ desktop. I used the Samsung mhl adapter to avoid some problems I heard about with other adapters. I use the Logitech bt Android 3.0+ keyboard mouse combo. Got these on Amazon.
On my TV I use Gmail, Calendar, GDocs, Netflix, Music, Weather, Market Movies, etc... I love it.
And even use Google Video Chat off the back camera using the keyboard case stand!

Bluetooth Mini Keyboard

I connected my Bluetooth mini keyboard with Touchpad to the Note and I am happy to report it works perfectly. Volume control, touchpad mouse etc all work fine.
I bought mine from Tigerdirect. Mine is labelled as "Ultra eXo Bluetooth Mini Keyboard with Touchpad," however it appears to be exactly the same as the one in the link below.

I have one from dealextreme (brand name Rii)
I'm using it when I'm connected to the work via Juniper SSLVPN. And I have a cheepo Galaxy Note mini holder... (from ebay, below $3) awesome
Meethere - The keyboard like this is great for business presentations. Connect the phone to hdmi and control from a distance. It has a laser pointer as well. I won't use it often but it will be very handy when I need it.
Xetaray - There are buttons mapped to menu, back and home. I never tried to find one for search. I will connect it again later and tell you.
Anymal - Amazon is cheaper, yeah, but shipping, and customs import duty and customs brokerage. Everyone on these forums is not in the USA. It was a spur of the moment purchase for a different device and I am sure $90 isn't going to make any difference to me. If I was going to go return it and then reorder, how much is my time worth? More than that. But thanks for pointing it out, very nice of you.

Did you allow installation from external sources in Settings -> Applications?
If so, did you also reboot and enable the keyboard under Settings -> Languages & Keyboards?

I don't have that keyboard, but I have a similar foldable with an integrated stand that only cost 1/4 of the iGo. That is a ridiculous price for a phone accessory. I'm sure you can find it for a lot less from other sources than Amazon.

I'm on ICS. I have unknown sources checked under "Security" in Settings. The Bluetooth Keyboard isn't showing up with the others under "Languages and Input".
It still keeps giving the same error message. I open the driver app, it says to authenticate, and the error message comes up immediately...as if it didn't even try to connect to Ultra's servers.

Without doin anything else, make your keyboard discoverable, go into Settings -> Wireless -> Bluetooth settings and do a Search for Bluetooth Devices. Make sure the keyboard is showing and then do a pairing.
After that set you keyboard to the phone's standard keyboard, go into a note taking (or Messenger) application, start to write with the on screen keyboard. If that works then try to write with the Bluetooth keyboard. If that doesn't work, tap on the screen until the inset cursor (usually with a blue arrow) appears, pusch Ctrl+Shift and then try to type. Shouldn't that work try Ctrl+Space instead.

Setting up the RemoteDroid server on your PC
Here are the steps for downloading and running the RemoteDroid server software on your PC. Before you begin you must already have a wireless home network already setup. You will also need Java SE Runtime Environment 1.5 or higher. Last but not least you will of course need a phone running the Android OS.
Go to http://www.remotedroid.net and download the latest RemoteDroid server zip file.
Extract the downloaded zip file to a folder on your PC. (example: C:\remotedroid)
Now open the location to which you extracted the zip file and run the file RemoteDroidServer.jar
The IP address of the PC RemoteDroidServer is running on will be displayed in the window you have just opened. Remember this IP as you will need it later in this guide.
Setting up the RemoteDroid app on your Android device
Now that you have downloaded and ran the RemoteDroidServer.jar file on the PC that you want to control it is time to configure RemoteDroid on your phone.
Go to the Android Market
Search for the RemoteDroid app, download it, and install it on your phone
Open the RemoteDroid app that you just installed
Enter the IP address of the PC you want to control (This will be the IP from Step 4 above)
Tap Connect
That is it! The large red square on your phone is the mouse capture box, the left green box acts as the left mouse button, the right green box acts as the right mouse button, and the keyboard icon between the green boxes brings up the keyboard input window to allow you to type on your PC.
Enjoy your new wireless mouse and keyboard.

probably worth mentioning somewhere near the top that you're not the developer of this app?
Nobody else uses this app?
Do you think it's possible to have an app with this features which works in 3G/data? In other words which don't only work in Wifi.
Connection would be made with a QR code flashed on the phone from a java programm or a website on the computeur.
I don't say ‘this app must exist' but i ask myself if this network connection is possible
Thx

this app is very useful when connecting desktop/laptop to tv and control it.. no wireless mouse/keyboard required.. multitouch also works for scrolling up/down web pages, only its missing pinch to zoom function..

Just what I was looking for.
I was gonna buy a mini Bluetooth keyboard for my PC but this does everything and more. I actually found it by accident when Slashdot did an article on 'Droidmote' running on an MK802. Never did get Droidmote working. I found I had to turn off predictive text to get the keyboard working but that's no biggie.
The only thing I could wish for would be calibration for the touchpad or, better yet, ballistics (fast swipe for large movements and slow swipe for fine movements) so I'm off to the developer's website to suggest it.
This was right on time. My logitech wireless key board died on me and this will work fine till I can get a replacement.
nice!!
this is a very nice app...
but the keyboard does not work...

A good mini BT keyboard with trackpad UK layout?

Have been struggling to find a decent mini keyboard with trackpad and UK layout. Anybody got good suggestions?
I'm waiting for this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/280894176961?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I will let you know if its worth it. My main purpose it's to link the S3 with my TV by an MHL HDMI cable, and control it in the sofa.
Another alternative, if you want to use it with a mouse:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/110927748012?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Or:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/160832382759?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Another
http://www.ebay.com/itm/360479170092?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Interesting, but a little pricey:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/380453969866?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
I didn't use any of the above. The second ones was a alternative that I considered.
Good luck.
Hi Bruno, the OP is looking for a UK layout keyboard, as am I. The ones you pointed to are all US layouts. The UK layout has the £ sign over the 3 rather than #. It also has an extra key to the left of Z for the \.
I too am looking for a reasonably priced UK layout keyboard but the only ones I've found are pricey. Probably because there are so few of them!

Thank for your replies guys. I ended up with the Logitech diNovo Mini UK layout. I also have a MHL HDMI cable in the post. Got a 64GB MicroSD in NTFS on the phone so main use is play music and films when I am out at friends' without having to carry my laptop or get up from the sofa every time I need to pause or something. Considered the Allshare Cast Dongle but I am using CM10 ROM so no Samsung apps and I would generic set ups so everything would still work when I upgrade in the future.
Using External Keyboard Helper Pro app I've assigned the Record key to Home, and left Windows key to Menu. ESC works as BACK anyway. All the media keys work. All the keys are mapped correctly. All the FN keys on the main keyboard works. Media Center key opens Apollo, Explorer goes to Home which have yet to figure out how to assign to Chrome, PC Power key turns screen off. The Zoom keys have been assigned but are not working. CTRL+ALT+DEL shuts phone off. Bonus of the app is you can set SHIFT/CTRL/ALT memory so you don't have to use both hands.
This is by no means a cheap set up but it has everything I need in a tiny and portable package.

Oh penis! That means I am going to have to back up all my apps and move to a Samsung based ROM... D'oh!
That's how I read it.
Wanted to get a Cyanogenmod ROM myself but after reading about the lack of MHL I'm not so sure anymore. After all I mainly used an CM ROM on my HD2 because of some of the functions that Samsung has in it's ROMs. I guess I can live with a rooted but otherwise stock SGS3.
All backed up! Going to give this Omega ROM a go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663656
All the Samsung Apps are there so should work.
Wish me luck...
I would be kind of surprised if they could do what the CM team can't.
Would be nice though. The ROM sounds pretty interesting to me.
Keep me posted.
So far I can confirm exFAT works on it (had to use NTFS work round on CM), all Samsung apps are present including Allshare. I have read reports that it works although my cable has yet to arrive so will let you know when that arrives.
I can confirm that everything works on Omega ROM as intended. Although the phone charger doesn't have enough juice to run the cable so a more powerful charger is needed.
Allshare Cast Dongle also works perfectly. I am able to stream 1080p with no lag. I also have a NAS, streaming from NAS to TV via phone I managed 720p with no lag. I will have to do some serious tweaking to see if I can get 1080p to run smoothly from the NAS.

Any comments, questions or feedback?
lol...
run so smooth..
just a request: can you increase sensitivity? i set it to max.. but for me is still slow ... i'll never use my mouse anymore
Great application, I'll won't use those microsoft mini mouses at my notebook anymore.
I can feel some lag(1080p monitor) does anyone feels it?
I want to suggest a Invert feature, so I can use it like a regular mouse(I can't get used to those new touch pad gestures D
You can get access to mouse and keyboard input, can you input like a keyboard?? Can you allow your app to trigger hotkeys with gesture input?
Tip:
With some AOSP ROMs, you can use Expanded Desktop. Enable it, so you won't missclick soft buttons(And you have a greater screen area).
It's a good app, however you might want to compare to RemoteDroid

Thanks for your feedback, the lay is decided by the signal of AP. Strong signal makes little lag.
The keyboard is not just real keyboard, many features of input method is also supported. And hotkeys will be planed to support.
Are you used to use the hotkeys, like "Alt + F1"?
That's what I'm talking about, ctrl+t to open a new tab on many web browsers or ctrl+s to save a file. Or bind keys to gestures(like home to get to a line start).
Wow.
Awesome.
I never knew such a thing was possible. :|
great. i'll test and report asap.

Working perfect
thank you very much.
Edit:Test with my 720p notebook has a little bit delay when i play youtube on browser!
Wow it runs perfect on my S3 and my N8000.
Thank you for developing.
Working nicely without any problem on Galaxy S3 + win7 (64bit) (asus gamer laptop)
A very nice solution for easy dictation on pc Using the swype beta's dragon voice input background this can be a very powerful tool, not only a mouse....
I would vote for an invert mouse layout as well, or just simply give an option in the settings to place the buttons on the top of the screen.
Another one would be handy: a gesture shortcut for Win+P ,which is the default output selector (only screen1, only screen2, extended desktop, clone desktop)

working really well on s3 & windows xp. no lag and really handy. i like spooking people on my pc with it by taking control. thanx for your hard work!
Wonderful! Just the trick for when my laptop is hooked up to my tv.
Thanx pal.

I'm typing this from directly from the app. It's pretty comfortable and most of the time smooth like butter. Feels like I got sometimes a few hickups and the mouse begins to destroy the perfectly smooth feeling. But overall all I wanted and nearly perfect. Will use live my couch life.
I like that the keyboard comes out if you switch to landscape mode. Neat feature.
Using a Galaxy S3 international
Siyah Kernel
Android Revolution HD 13.0 Rom
Works well with Galaxy S3 and Windows XP
works perfectly with win7 and s3, bought your app

Thanks for your suggestions, we will plan to add shortcut for Win+P and other combination keys. But maye not a gesture, buttons insteaded.
False Positive?
I enjoyed the app but had a problem when installing my AV reported it had Adware.AndroidOS.Leadbolt - wsm.wifimousefree.
Could you please verify.
My AV is Zoner Antivirus. (Up to date)
I'm on Omega V31
