When I connect my GS3 to my Asus Transformer via USB I can not see the internal or external SD card. Eventually I get a message on the GS3 that I need to download Windows software for my PC. Is there a way to simply connect these two devices via USB?
Hello, I'm using Ubuntu 12.04
When I connect my kindle (and SE X10 mini) to my pc and turn on USB storage on the phone Ubuntu mounts my SD and I can access the files in my SD normally (no problem yet).
However there is just /dev/sdb, there is no /dev/sdb1. When I connect it in my archlinuxarm machine (and turn on USB storage on the phone) I can't access my files because I don't know how to mount the SD card without /dev/sdb1.
Does anyone know how to mount it also in ArchLinuxArm?
Thanks a lot.
Note: already tried this but no luck.
Hello,
For anyone having the same problems, I was able to solve them using this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1814660
I think its the same as previously stated but on a script.
I have just rooted my Sony xperia s thinking that this will help me in trying to recover files. However I am still having issues with this.
Thing is when you plug the device in it just shows as a media device and not an actual physical drive so any recovery software that I use can not pick up the individual drives.
What else can I do so that when the phone is plugged into the pc it is recognised as a physical drive and given a drove letter?
This would be a huge help as I have lost quite a few different files that I would like back.
Thanks
Karl
One way is to use Samba Filesharing over WiFi.
Once you have established a connection on your PC (NetBIOS Name) you can then map a drive.
This assumes you have root access on your phone and a WiFi LAN.
Well, there is this app which helps You Mount internal storage as usb storage on PC, but it is a paid app:

Edit : There seems to be a free version here: [APP][P] SD Mounter as Mass Storage V2.0
